Fantastic experience: Normally I don't pay attention to reviews as I assume they're written by friends or family. I, however, am neither but feel compelled to write this, my first online review (WOOT). En route to said shop I stopped at a major pet outlet, no names (Sealand Industrial Estate, Chester) and left after a brief chat with a member of staff who probably knew more about Whoppers than animals. Contact Pets is run by animal lovers / keepers who know their stuff. If not for the advice I received I could have unwittingly killed my newly purchased (not by CP I hasten to add which is a MASSIVE PLUS to them) tortoise with Iceberg lettuce. I'm bored of typing now so, to sum up, CP are splendid and my tortoise (Orwell) is happy with his new bedding, feeding bowl and cork bark shelter. Many thanks.

Sharon and Dave have worked tirelessly over the covid pandemic before and after to keep blacons pets happy, they’ve succeeded, I often bring my animals for visits into the shop which Sharon and Dave always spoil

Negative experience: Friendly staff but unfortunately they could do with some improvement. They sell unsuitable cages for small animals and birds. The budgies we got from there sadly have PBFD (French Molt) - this will be more of an issue caused by the supplied breeder rather than the shop. The breeder was in the store at the time of the last visit. He shockingly never heard of this highly contagious and fatal disease! The store could be greatly improve if the owners are better educated on animal welfare, supply better and more suitable products, and find an ethical breeder for the birds.

They are very patient with you and make sure you know all about the care of the various animals. They have such a varitey of animals mammals, invertebrates, amphibians and reptiles. They take good care of their customers and their animals. If you ever want to go to a pet shop and get a pet i woud recommend going there! Have bought various animals from there and still got them all today

Positive experience: Have bought a leopard gecko from here and he is doing fine and is almost 2 years old. Recommended my Mum to get a young budgie from here but it sadly passed away this morning, it was fine one minute then the next it lost all coordination and was 'stargazing' leading me to believe that it had Ataxia. After sitting on his cage floor for a while he then passed away. Even though this condition is hereditary and difficult to notice until its almost too late, I believe that the mother of this budgie should have been diagnosed with Ataxia and customers should be informed of what this condition is when they purchase their budgies. The budgie was purchased less than a year ago but unfortunately the Ataxia seemed to spread fast leaving us no time to get him to a vet.

Fantastic experience: Great place, they really care for their animals, arranged to keep a pinktoe for the next day and wasn't an issue. Go the extra mile for you and know their animals very well. Would recommend this to many other exotic pet shops I've been to, 10/10, just need more space and a bigger shop! Would love to see more animals

Even provides 'kennel'- like service for exotic pets! Purchased my bearded dragon a year ago from them as a baby, and have returned every week for food and supplies and support!

Fantastic experience: After careful research I decided I wanted a corn snake. The staff were brilliant so knowledgeable and asking questions to ensure I had realistic expectations. My son fell in love with an Amel so there was no option really! first class service as they fully explained everything | needed to do to get the best out of my snake. Their service was a joy in the rushed world nothing I asked was too much trouble
