Fantastic experience: Just received my Geophagus Sveni lovely size ,fair price, and more importantly superb condition

Negative experience: DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!! Ordered an American flagfish on the website on a Monday, waited until Friday and order still wasn’t processed so called the shop. Was told the person who was dealing with it was in meetings (judging by other reviews they use this tactic a lot). Called back following Monday and was told that the person dealing with my order is still in meetings, called back 2 days later to be told the person dealing with my order has been off with covid the whole time (so is it meetings or covid). So I asked for a refund as there was no indication anyone was going to ship my order. 2 days later still no refund or email so had to do a chargeback on PayPal. Might be an okay shop to visit in person but they are useless with online orders and customer service was apathetic and terrible.

Negative experience: After being recommended here I was surly disappointed. They DO have a nice selection of fish, but the tanks were in complete dismay. Very little fish correctly labelled, algae, rust, dark, dirty floors and general untidiness all over and staff more interested in their phones.

Negative experience: I ordered some blood worms from this shop and the experience has been a complete mess. They never provided a tracking number, and after a week of silence, I had to chase them up myself. My emails were ignored, and every time I called, they said someone would get back to me but no one ever did. Eventually, I was told the order had shipped on Monday. By the end of that week, still nothing had arrived. I tried contacting them again and got no response until I finally reached someone, who then told me the order would be sent on Friday. So clearly, it hadn’t been sent when they first claimed it had, twice. Over the next week, I kept asking for a tracking number, but was constantly told the person who could help was "in meetings" and I still didn’t get any follow-up. Eventually, I was told I missed the delivery, but they couldn’t tell me when it was meant to arrive or give any details. I had the order sent to my friend’s workplace, which stays open late to avoid missing it. But with no tracking info, I had no way to plan ahead or redirect the package somewhere nearby. I still have no idea what time they tried to deliver it or even if they actually did. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the live creatures are already dead due to all this poor communication. This was my first time ordering live animals from this shop, and I’ve been messed around for three weeks straight. I was even told today they’d send the tracking number at 7:30 PM so I could prepare for the delivery but once again, nothing came through. Very unprofessional service. This is why I’m leaving a 1-star review. I shouldn’t have to make 9 phone calls and send 7 emails just to get basic tracking information or proof that my order was even shipped. Completely unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Popped into store last weekend, and must say I was very impressed with the level of experience, knowledge and just overall great customer service received by the lads in there. I'm from a generation where you visit an aquatics shop, pet shop etc, get to know the staff, receive good advice and recommendations and you just don't get that anymore. The service I have received in chain shops Pets at Home and Maidenhead Aquatics doesn't give you the confidence needed as a consumer to make a purchase, even the service received in some smaller shops in my area have been nothing compared to Fish Den Aquatics, Well done guys and keep up the great work, I'll be back very soon for some more stock!

Fantastic experience: I visited the Fish Den on Good Friday because I had a problem with my Koi Pond/Koi Carp. They were listless and many of them were lying on the bottom appearing to be dead. I started explaining my problem to Lee and he immediately brought the owner Steve into the conversation. They simultaneously came up with same answer - Koi Sleeping Disease. They advised a course of action and supported me over the coming weeks. My Koi have fully recovered and just started feeding again. Some of the koi I have had for over forty years, and without their help I am sure I would have lost many of them. Thanks very much for your help and support - Lee and Steve A short video of my pond and fish is attached , this was taken on Sunday 4th of May. As you can see they are looking good. To give an idea of scale the smaller fish in the video are 6 inches long.

Fantastic experience: Great little aquatic shop. Loads of fish species, live plants and everything else you need. Fish are kept in clean tanks and all are really healthy. Have visited this place on 2 separate occasions and there's not a single dead fish in sight (unlike other places I've seen)

Fantastic experience: Wow! Just wow! I had been looking for quite a rare fish (XL EBR) and came across Fish Den Aquatics online. I made a call to get more information etc and the customer service was brilliant and gave me confidence to buy fish online. I placed my order and was regularly updated and when my fish arrived they were everything I’d been looking for. The fish were absolute quality and most importantly very healthy! I even got a message to see if they arrived ok. I was nervous initially as said before but every interaction I had was exemplary and put me at ease and really felt cared for as a customer. Will go out of my way to order from here in the future! Might have a browse now to see what else I can get lol. Anyway you won’t be disappointed!!!

Negative experience: Rubbish. Ordered livestock online. No tracking provided I had to contact them for an update. To then be told on two occasions they hadn’t shipped them out due to weather conditions and temperature. However I had to email for these updates. I’ve ordered previous livestock through another company and never had any issues, they send them out with heat packs to keep them warm, so I feel this company are just full of excuses. I then had to go through PayPal resolution centre to get my refund.

Fantastic experience: Visited thd store on 27th December for my sons 16th Birthday staff were so patient, helpful and even called taxi and helped the fish we got into the taxi ,special thanks to Stephen and Sean, we bought 3 discus ,a green terror and peacock snakehead ,all fish absolutely healthy and settled well ,this shop needs more recognition ,also was very busy in the shop but we were not rushed ,definitely by far the best aquatics store I been in ,the fish were also not in tiny tanks ,and discus fish so social and not shy ,ate straight away absolutely beautifully will be 100 percent getting more you all made my sons birthday the best !love it ❤️

FREE water testing on each visit just for peace of mind. And also knowledge and help for when things go wrong. Highly recommend them - Lee is my go to man.

Fantastic experience: Popped in to look at the selection as I have had a very unique and diverse selection of fish over the years and I was pleasantly surprised to see some more exotix species. I found all the commonly kept species along with some specialist species, glad to see a local aquatic shop tending to all customers wants and needs unlike the major chains who only keep the starter species. They have a decent selection of live plants and decor for those who want to get into aquascaping, healthy looking fish for ponds and aquariums. Those working there are friendly and knowledgeable, happy to chat and go through with you if, you want help. Cannot fault this shop and I look forward to my return to buy more and fully stock my tank with only their livestock.

Negative experience: We bought some fish to add to our existing fish for our tank which has been up and running for four years . All the fish were fine prior to purchasing from this shop . The day after, the first new fish died and day by day we lost all the new fish . Then the original fish also started to die . We phoned the shop and was told after sending a video of our tank that it was low oxygen which was the cause . The following day I went and had the water tested at another pet shop and showed the video and was told that water levels and oxygen was all fine . To clarify I got a second opinion from another major pet shop to check the water and showed the video and again all was fine . I then contacted fluval the maker of our fish tank to see if we was doing anything wrong and they said all was fine after seeing video . We truly believe along with the other companies that the new fish bought from this shop , brought a disease into our tank . We have gone from 18 fish to 3 … The after service was awful as felt they just blamed us .

Positive experience: Lots of nice fish, good selection. Helpful staff. Little pricey on some stuff but overall good. Bought an angel fish to go with our other one but it died after 4 days.

Fantastic experience: Love this place!! So helpful in regards to fish keeping. I purchased my peacock bass here last year, it is thriving. Theres some cracking lads in there too. One especially called Lee. After a recent visit, me and Lee shared a romantic encounter behind the shop whilst taking in a delivery of new stock. Lee was a little rougher than I had hoped, and I think I’ll be using a wheelchair for the next 10 days. So for this reason, I will be keeping myself away for a bit as I just cant resist Lee’s touches! Thanks again Fish Den, especially thank you to Lee for my new gaping crevice and prolapsed rectum.

Negative experience: The customer service was rancid. The advice given by the company on water changes is simply poor, ignorant, and uneducated. This company is merely dragging customers into deep waters with their advice as a tactic to sell more useless products. It is becoming more and more apparent that this firm is in it for the money and not for the wellbeing of the fish and the local dedicated and loyal customers, one of which that they have now lost.

Fantastic experience: 1st time visiting a couple of weeks ago after a friend for a goldfish my son had acquired weeks earlier. Left with a tropical set up and a betta my Mrs had always wanted. Lee was super helpful to me and my wife after she had to go and buy me a pleco. Will be my main shop for ever.

Fantastic experience: So glad I found this place. The staff are great and so helpful and the tanks are absolutely immaculate. Such a wonderful variety of fish with some really unusual ones too. I bought 3 Amazon puffer fish which I have had difficulty sourcing lately to replenish my tank. Fish Den were happy to hold them for me until I collected them. I have to say, they are the healthiest looking Amazon puffers in my tank, beautiful colouring, perfectly rounded shape and extremely active. I will definitely be visiting again.

Fantastic experience: Most well kept aquariums and livestock I've seen in a commercial setting. Wide range of species including some very hard to come by in the trade. Looking at you chilli raspboras. Great range of male and female bettas and the staff help you pick out who's right for your setup and budget. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, they care more about your tank and fishes wellbeing over making a sale which is always a good sign. I live far away, but whenever I'm in the area I make sure to stop in, always worth the trip! * the frogs are fine, they do this in the breeding season to look big and sexy *
