Fantastic experience: Very good little pet shop. We went for tropical fish and plants certain fish are slightly over priced however the plants was very cheap so kind of balanced it out

Negative experience: Just been in to purchase a couple of things as it’s a long standing family business I’d thought I’d give it a try instead of going to a national retailer. Was spoken to very rudely by the person who was seeing to us not letting us finish on what we was trying to say saying that it’s up to them if they serve us what we came in for. For one I know for a fact that we will not be stepping foot in the premises again until they know what customer service is

Fantastic experience: Amazing petshop, it has everything you need for ur animals, weather that be for ur feathered friends, 4 legged friends and ur aquatic buddies too... they have an amazing selection, I went in for a small fish tank, it was brilliant, I went back for another the day after.. Amazing staff always helping and full of knowledge.. my kind of store..

Fantastic experience: The Petman......if you're from Ashton, you know this place. The best pet shop in the whole of Tameside, by some margin. The quality of their products and the range of availability is what makes them stand out. They're also a family run shop and always friendly and attentive. Won't go anywhere else for my aquarium supplies. Absolutely superb, and they have their own parking for customers.

Fantastic experience: Visited today as I've recently started keeping fish again by order of my Granddaughter, bought nine fish and a few live plants, absolutely thrilled with the prices and the man that served me (owner) was very knowledgeable about all things fish and only too happy to help with any questions/queries, I'm happy to say I've now found my new go-to fish specialist and look forward to going again. 5⭐️+. Fantastic experience: Got my fish tank from here with my dad a few weeks ago and all the plants and a few fish. The gentleman that served me was very knowledgeable and helped me get all the correct stuff in place in order for my tank to work and so far I've had zero problems I will be going back for all of my tanks stuff in the future really good local pet store highly recommend.

Negative experience: Good selection of stuff for fish. Staff seem friendly and they know their stuff about aquatics! Nice that dogs are allowed in store too (we saw a few which was fun) and the staff seemed happy to help when asked. Unfortunately, I am a bit concerned about the living conditions of the small animals and birds that live on the premises. It seems they are provided with the bare minimum in terms of environment and enrichment. The rabbit in particular was in a hutch that was too small (very low to the ground despite overhearing the assistant tell another customer it is frightened of dogs). The birds seem to be packed in small enclosures, they seemed stressed. Yes, it is an old store, dark and a bit run down but if they cannot provide an appropriate space for live animals, they should not be there. It is a shame because I can tell the store owners mean well and are trying their best!

Fantastic experience: Saved my life! My filter broke in my tank and my fish were gasping for air. Called them up and he said to come to the shop and he would help me out. Brilliant advice, helped mt buy the right filter and some solution to clean the water of algae, very helpful and extremely polite. I cannot thank you enough, I will be back very soon for some more weather loaches :)

Negative experience: Abysmal.. Partner was ringing all week as my stepdaughter wanted a baby hamster, they said x amount on their own or cheaper with a cage (we'd already spent £70 on a cage, all setup). Come the day of purchase they refused the sale as their supply was short and were only willing to sell to customers buying a cage at the same time (extra £39), we went elsewhere and now she's happy.

Fantastic experience: Purchased one of the large aquarium castles online. This was delivered in 3 working as per the invoice instructions and was well packaged to avoid damage. Item seems good quality and now makes a real difference to my aquarium.

They stock a good selection of fish,foods equipment and aquariums for us fish keepers and have a wealth of knowledge when asked about problems. They also have a nice selection of foods and equipment for birds, rabbits, and other rodents dogs cats ect, birds and rodents are also available to buy here. And if you are into fishing they also sell a wide variety of rods and bate & tackle aswell. Love pet man's store has been a icon of ashtons old town highstreet aslong as I can remember worth a visit

Fantastic experience: I shop here really often, even though I don't live in Ashton anymore I still travel there to go pet man, it's been there along as I can remember (obviously was across the road from where it is now) I can't do a review that will give it enough justice, the staff are absolutely amazing, they go the extra mile for their customers and have a wealth of knowledge, I always leave feeling valued, they are really friendly, outgoing and helpful. I won't shop anywhere else now their prices are really good too.

Positive experience: Conditions for the animals aren't the best. They know about their fish and have good standards for that but for the rest of the animals they sell. They don't know much and sell a lot of dangerous products. Cheap shop.

Positive experience: Great shop with knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have a good range of cages, toys and food and it's not too badly priced. There is a customer care park at the back which is free. They have some small pets such as birds, fish and rats but nothing larger. The store is very tightly packed and a little bit run down but that should not stop you going
