Negative experience: All the older experienced staff have left and new staff are just kids... Quality of fish is poor and extortionate prices. Many dead fish on display and outbreak of whitespot. Avoid

Positive experience: It's a decent place to buy fish, prices are reasonable, not the cheapest and not the most expensive either. One criticism I have is most of the staff seem to be very young with not much experience in customer service or knowledge about the fish. You should do your research before going there

Negative experience: don’t come to this place! Firstly i bought a fish for my daughter from here and it’s incredibly expensive especially the fact the fish died in under 3 weeks! Secondly, The manager is incredibly rude, selfish, ill mannered and clearly has a lack of good customer service skills. i am absolutely appalled the service i have received in this shop. Also the staff are miserable and are not efficient with their work ethic . its obvious the manager has not trained the staff which the majority are very young. Either stop being lazy and train these young staff properly or employ older professionals if he can’t do it.

Negative experience: Had an unknowledgeable under 16 year old answer the phone. She was going back and forth to confirm with her boss as she knew nothing. Please put knowledgeable people on phone and stop exploiting children.

Negative experience: The young girl that served us was very unknowledgeable and unwelcoming and didn’t know anything about the fish at all. The atmosphere in the facilities was wired… Once we spend £100 on fish we drove 25 minutes home to where the bags were deflated, with water in the bottom of the carrier bag. All the fish we had purchased were dead. Apart from 2 corys! Not only have we wasted our time and money it’s very disheartening that our fish have died in result of the lack of care and consideration of the staff member/members, I’m a knowledgeable fish keeper and it’s a shame that they sell live stock like this. Experience people should sell livestock. Further more I paid an additional £20 for 4 potted plants to find when we also come home that they wasn’t even packed in our bags so we haven’t got them. Astonished just got to laugh. Lucky to get a star!

Fantastic experience: Every time my fiancée and I go to this Maidenhead aquatics they are always so professional, friendly and extremely helpful. They always joke about with us and have a laugh as well as this makes us feel very welcome. They always update us on what deliveries they will be getting in just incase we might be interested in buying a fish from them. I would like to say that all their fish in their tanks always look so healthy which is rare nowadays. This is one of our favourite Maidenhead aquatics to go we love it there.

Positive experience: Sad to say staff not very helpful and were more interested in talking amongst themselves than talking to the customer, I will carry on going to the st albans store which is a 30 minutes drive more for me as they are so helpful and go the extra mile.

Fantastic experience: I am new to fish keeping and have been to the Enfield branch many times in the last 1 month. This place is amazing, spotless and just a joy to wonder around. They have a very large number of tropical and other fishes and have made quite a lot of purchases. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and more than eager to advice and help. Many many thanks to Phillipos, Oliver who have served me whenever I have visited the centre and also Ben who advised over the phone. Even if you are not making purchases, it's a wonderful trip especially for kids. The best aquatic centre in Crews Hill that I have been to so far, 10/10 from Shahnaz

Positive experience: I had a great experience today and I picked up some new fishes for my aquariums. I would definitely come back and grab some more. There’s loads of plants like tomatoes, cucumber, peppers and ect. I would recommend this shop if you want to browse around to pick up a few things for your garden or aquarium.

The shop itself is very clean and, while I was in there, the staff were misting down all the tanks and cleaning the glass. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and happy to offer advice. I will definitely be purchasing my tropical fish from here in the future.

Fantastic experience: Very nice shop and well presented. All the staff has amazing knowledge of fish. Now I know that sounds a bit stupid as people would say well they should do as they work in a fish shop. This in reality is not always the case in every type of work you do. I have seen many times when people work in stores and don't have a clue about the products they sell. These guys do and they are very helpful in what you need to have a stable equation environment. They could quite easily sell any fish to earn money like the one across the road for them in springtime. I originally went into this store when I was looking to buy fish and the stuff was more expensive the women did not seem interested at all as when we asked questions they were very short and dismissive and there were loads of dead fish in the tanks that had not been removed and for people looking to purchase fish this does not look great as it looks as if they are not looked after. The staff in Maidenhead Aquatics are brilliant though and all of their tanks look clean and amazing.

Negative experience: Visited them to buy some fish and one of the stuff member with glasses and crocked eyes, obviously not native, who served me was very unprofessional and rude, tried to sell me items but I wasn't interested and after rejecting he didn't want to sell me any fish. I don't recommend this Aqua shop as this particular employee has obvious problems with himself and does not know how to treat customers and as well prices are very high compared to another aqua shop just cross the road. Where stuff members are very warm and friendly.

Negative experience: I was looking for sturisoma aureum fish. When I called Maidenhead Enfield I spoke to Adam who confirmed that they had 5 wild caught fish in stock. He even confirmed they were from Columbia. I planned to go next day to buy. So rang again in the morning to check the fish were still available. Adam confirmed again. Somehow i couldn't make it that day. I had time to go today so checked again if the fish had not been sold. I also reconfirmed that these were sturisoma and not Farlowella which is totally different species although still called whiptail or stick. On being reassured for the third time, I made a 20 mile journey to the shop only to find out those were Farlowella and not sturisoma. A total waste of time and money spent on petrol. Maidenhead staff should either give accurate information or say they don't know. I'M NEVER GOING TO TRUST THIS TRADER AGAIN. Very frustrating. Following the owner's response. I had specifically asked if the fish was Royal Sturisoma Aureum. And three times confirmed by store staff that it was. Twice by Adam. In fact these fish were farlowella. Quite different from Royal Sturisoma, although still commonly called whiptail. These are nocturnal and you hardly see them during the day. I have sturisoma aureum that's active all the time.

Fantastic experience: Lovely store with a huge selection of fish and plants. I shop between this branch and the larger St Albans branch. Not sure about the previous comments on the fish labelling and plants as I could not see any issues there. Each to their own.

Positive experience: Good selection of fish but quite a few were mislabeled and plants were not looking good. I love Maidenhead Aquatics but unfortunately the large competitor just down the road is offering much better and with more competitive pricing.

Negative experience: Wide variety of aquariam tanks and accessories. Deducted 3 pts for the fact that despite them having a huge variety of fish they have not been displayed properly. All the fishes are either misnamed showing disinterest in fish display and customer service. Ended up buying all my fish from a competitor nearby as if the staff acnnot be bothered to correct disllay fish species and names I was not sure whether they would be cared for and healthy.

All fish appear well kept and healthy, and have bought fish from Maidenhead Aquatics many times over the years, and all have lived long, happy lives!

Fantastic experience: Best fish selection ! This store have many types of quality fish as discus, rams and South Americam and Malawi -Tanganyikan cichlids. I found my favour 4 types of Geophagus and Tropheus ikola and Bemba for good price. Also I found nice plants Anubias nana and other in large size. Best deal is ANY 8 plants for £39 ONLY ! I get professional customer service with friendly manner. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Ever since I started shopping from here the fish I buy have survived unlike fish bought from cheaper pet shops. A vast variety of tropical fish and very helpful staff giving advice to all of my questions. Easy to navigate around the large area with a nice atmosphere.

Negative experience: We went to try and get some help/advice on choosing an aquarium and were told to just look ourselves. When we then asked if we could have a little help with sizes etc we got handed a measure tape. They were not busy at the time and it would have taken them 5 mins to help, but instead they were just rude and not interested in helping with anything. We left and went to their branch in St Abans instead, who were amazing.

Negative experience: Visited here today and was disappointed in this occasion. In one tank there was a dead fish and in another was a fish clearly with a swim bladder type problem struggling. I’ve bought fish on another occasion which have survived but left today without making a purchase even though it has been my intention to do so.

Negative experience: To be honest , the store and the variety of fishes you get to see there is good , but one thing that lets this beautiful place down is the staff. This is because we as a family always went there to buy the fishes for me and my nephew , i guess we visited the store like 4 times in total ,but the staff is all the same its like they make you feel frightened to ask a question , they're never smiling and welcoming the customer ( except the short hair young man )
