Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this aquarium shop! Ive always trusted this place with all my heart. Shame they are soon closing down, i got all my fish and supplies for my tanks here all in brilliant condition still to this day! All the staff are so lovely and always have been thank you Hastings reptile and aquatic centre for all your help!

Fantastic experience: I love it here the service is so nice and quick and prices are relatively cheap. Not only that but they really know how to look after their animals and give great advice. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Positive experience: We’ve visited this shop multiple times and always been impressed by the range of fish and aquarium supplies, we are frequent customers here. The young lady with the colourful hair is especially kind and knowledgeable — she’s a real credit to the place. Other staff members have also been helpful and friendly during our visits. Unfortunately, our experience with one staff member, the man with glasses, has been quite different. On one occasion, we asked for advice on a product and he silently handed us an item from the shelf without saying a word, then walked off. It left both me and my partner feeling confused and uncomfortable. Thankfully, another team member later stepped in, recommended a better (and more affordable) option, and took the time to explain everything properly — a great example of what good customer service should be. We gave it the benefit of the doubt and returned again, but sadly, we had another poor experience with the same man. He came across as annoyed when we asked questions and was quite dismissive in his tone. While we understand everyone can have an off day, consistent negative interactions like this are hard to overlook. We now tend to avoid visiting when he’s working, which is a shame because the rest of the staff and the shop itself are genuinely great.

Fantastic experience: We recently visited Hastings Reptile & Aquatics as total fish-keeping novices, wanting to set up a tank suitable for our child's birthday. Great experience - the staff were friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. We bought some fantastic fish and plants and were given very useful advice about looking after them properly. Would particularly recommend this shop if you're new to fish-keeping and need expert guidance without feeling pressure to buy stuff you don't need. Excellent experience.

Fantastic experience: We just bought our 2 baby geckos there. The lady's knowledge is fantastic and I would call them if I would have any question. They quite far from us but if I have to choose a local shop or them I WOULD TRAVEL TO THEIRS!!!!!!

Negative experience: I have been going there every Sunday buying fish and aquatic bits for 2 months. I bought 6 male guppies one Sunday ..after 3 deaths turns out they were 3 male and 3 female. Left with 2 male 1 female. I called the shop explained what had happened and asked if they would give me 6 female to stop them all killing each other. She was lovely on the phone. Apologised and said they don’t check the fish once they have been delivered and said yes of course she would give me 6 female. I drive 20mins on my lunch break to get them. Turns out she meant give .. in exchange for money. So I had to buy 6 fish to sort a problem they created by selling me the wrong fish and now am going to be stuck with fry. They said they would take them back … only have 3 left and my son is now attached. Poor knowledge and advice. Poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service! They had all that I needed to replace an aquarium light. They even took it out of its package to show me the instructions.

Fantastic shop, negative comments are definitely not needed I've used this shop for the last 20+ years Honestly fab place to visit always willing to help. Very caring for the animals they keep. Anything that I've had issues with which is super rare are sorted without even a prompt. Honestly your team you have are a credit to your business. I continue to hope your business thrives for many many years to come.

Fantastic experience: We had spent so much time and money at pets at home, and still our fish would continuously die, eat each other and the tank just constantly looked dirty and unhealthy. We knew the advice we were being given wasn’t right but wasn’t sure where to go. Hastings reptile and aquatic center immediately gave us all the knowledge to start saving our tank. Without even spending any money, we were able to change the whole tank environment ready to accept new fish. Now we have bought new fish, snails and frogs and our tank is thriving and our 4 year old loves it. The tank constantly looks clean, healthy, active and colorful. We now have the knowledge of how to keep on top of our water and make sure it’s a perfect environment and couldn’t thank this place enough!! Amazing friendly knowledgeable place to go. And our 4 year old has held some reptiles! Thank you xx

Fantastic experience: It was an open day, children could hold the reptiles, my granddaughter was really made up with this today. The staff are very friendly and the reptiles didn't seem to mind. I would recommend taking a visit, it's very clean and so many fish too. Open day eas a good idea. Face painting for the little ones.

Negative experience: Fine until you realise they've sold you faulty stuff then the tone changes. When I called to enquire about a problem with the set up, the owner told me there was no way he would have sold me a bearded dragon in anything less than a 4ft viv and yet it wasn't even 3ft. Would not believe me despite having sold it all to me less than 2 months before. Had to go and 'prove' that I had a Beardie and not a Rakim. Still didn't solve the problem and denied what he had said on the phone. Have since had to return several times, only ever a month or so apart because equipment fails and they won't replace it, will eventually just threaten you with the police taking absolutely no responsibility for their mistakes. AVOID.

Fantastic experience: Great Place with knowledgeable staff! Bought my Bearded dragon "Draco" from here several years ago now. Bought a complete set up which had everything I needed and told the correct husbandry to raise him happily and healthily. He has been bought a bigger home but I've kept my beginner accessories. Been back multiple times for fish as they have such a great selection at reasonable prices. Due to circumstance I have to go for other places for supplies as I live 30 minutes away but if they were closer I would visit for everything. Would recommend friends and family :)

Fantastic experience: I telephoned them to ask if they had a tropical aquarium water test kit in. The phone was answered quickly and they were happy to put the test kit by whilst we travelled down there. We also bought some shrimp food whilst we were there. Good friendly customer service and knowledgeable about the test kit. Good price too. Well done.

Fantastic experience: Today I got an Albino Leopard Gecko. The Girl who served me was very knowledgeable and a very nice person. She let me see all the geckos and let me hold a couple of which ones I like. I would rate this 10 ⭐️ !!!!!!

Fantastic experience: All staff know their stuff when it comes to tropical fish - so helpful, cheery and go the extra mile to help you sort out any issues with your aquarium. I set up a small 19" tank a friend gave me, they advised as to how to 'cycle' the tank 4 months ago, & what fish to start with, and their advice was spot on! They also test your water which is a bonus. The prices for both fish and products are excellent, I'm not going anywhere else, they're my regular stop for anything to do with tropical fish!

Positive experience: Love this shop the staff r always very helpful but the reason I have taken a star off is because u don't do a delivery service i have small kids and find it a struggle getting down every week also it's a struggle pushing the pram in the shop as the path ways r so narrow but other than that I can't fault this place

Negative experience: A man with glasses always seems so grumpy, and actually intimidated me. Was no help at all. I overheard the staff making fun of a customer and then avoided serving him. Which i found rude but the staff just laughed and joked about there mocking. I Do not recommend if you want a friendly non judgmental shop. Fish looked fine, lots of pumps and a wide range of products that you won’t find it pets @home although the customer service just isn’t there. I can not leave a good review knowing that the customers are not valued but made fun of once served. Maybe find staff who want to serve and attend there job… I will keep buying from swell reptiles in the future

Positive experience: Great shop, also some nice fish they can order in, everyone’s got a smile but there is one member of staff, man in he’s late 30s got glasses, he always seems miserable an he doesn’t wanna be there. It’s a shame really, that’s why they get 4 star, but other then that nice shop.

Positive experience: Got back in to fish keeping a few months ago. Always helpful and clearly passionate about both the reptile and aquarium hobby. Great place to go locally instead of the bigger chains and has near on everything you could need to start from new or get supplies. Great selection of fish and reptiles. all what you see in the photo is from here.

Fantastic experience: There is so much stuff in this place. You can find pretty much everything you need to feed, house and treat any reptile, amphibian or fish They staff are really friendly and knowledgeable and will help you with any of your needs. They have a small collection of reptiles for sale. They also have frozen mice, pups, fluffs, rats, rabbits etc. and live locusts, crickets, mealworms that are about £7 for 4 - best price around. Would highly recommend it here.

Gentleman helped us with a problem with a our lepord gekos eye not shedding properly and gave advice better then 2 vets did . Highly recommended! We travelled from Maidstone and will be going back .
