🗣️ SEA LIFE Brighton: Reviews
Fantastic experience: What an amazing place to visit! I recently came here as part of my induction week for my uni course of Animal Management, and even though I am not massively interested in fish, it was an absolutely amazing day out! Sea Life Brighton is good for children, teens and adults alike with very child friendly and accommodating activities and informative boards on the different species. Also great for history lovers as some of the tanks date back to the second world war and haven't been changed since! The oldest being the Brighton Pier Walk tank. It is a great opportunity for anyone in the area to learn about native and exotic species of fish, or just expand your general knowledge. Would definitely reccomend if you're in the area!
Fantastic experience: One of the best maritime experience om earth in an old building
Positive experience: I visited towards the end of the school holidays and as a solo traveller it was hellish. But for the packed hoard of children it was obviously paradise. This is the Disney World of the fish business. But as a serious aquarium for grown- ups less so. Having said, that as a former fish keeper, I know the secret of keeping healthy fish is to maintain healthy water and Sea Life do this very successfully. All their stock were in prime condition. I was impressed by the hands-on tank with its wash hand station ensuring disease transmission from inquisitive hands was minimised. One serious issue is to do with disability access. The general entrance is by way of an outside and very steep stone staircase. As an elderly, but reasonabley agile pensioner, even I descended with trepidation. I noticed families bouncing their empty pushchairs from step to step. Far too dangerous to do so with a child on board. I had seen a small sign indicating a ramped entrance but on leaving, I spoke with a woman clutching her mobility aid who told me she couldn't find the actual ramp. Disability challenged users need to be aware. In summary five stars for children: one for adults
Negative experience: We had a really disappointing experience at Sea Life Brighton. As we were leaving the aquarium through the gift shop, a staff member with dark hair and large glasses shouted across the room at myself and my 5-year-old: “You need to show me a ticket, you can’t go in there!” It was loud enough for everyone in the shop to hear and was very embarrassing. It also frightened my young children who figured they'd done something wrong. I assume she thought we were trying to get in for free but she could have come up to us quietly to check, the situation felt hostile and unnecessary (we provided receipts to show we'd been through). I wasn’t originally going to leave a negative review, as I understand one staff member doesn’t represent the whole attraction. However, I went through the official complaints process and was told the CCTV would be checked, but I’ve since been ignored. That lack of follow-up left me very disappointed, and I think it’s only fair to let other families know this could happen. The aquarium itself was fine, but this experience overshadowed it for us.
Fantastic experience: Lovey place to visit. The team were fantastic. Lots of interactions around the venue, highly reccomend.
Fantastic experience: So much fun. Lovely building with good exhibits. Our little one loved it!
Fantastic experience: On a coach trip. Raining when we got off coach so decided to visit. Enjoyed it very much.
Negative experience: Reserved online tickets at 14.50 and tried to charge us 24.50 per ticket. I had proof of reserved booking online and reluctantly said he would let me off!!! Bloody cheeky!!!. Tried initially to charge me 63 quid, ended up at 35 quid but made out he was doing me a favour. Be warned!!! That aside loved experience once entered. Guy on counter ruin welcome hence 2 star.
Positive experience: It's a nice place for a family visit. Not very flashy or modern but still interesting
Negative experience: Not worth the asking price. The facilities are quite old and somewhat run down, it is very noisy and annoying music is playing that doesn't fit the quiet underwater theme. Instead of unnecessary distractions like video games and Angry Bird themed "information" plates I would have liked to see more actual exhibits. The variety of fish is alright but not amazing. The whole exhibition is also quite short. My main comparison is the "Haus des Meeres" Aquarium in Vienna, which is asking a similar price of admission but offers much more in much higher quality.
Fantastic experience: Love this place. Come here to picnic and see the wonderful sealife. Great for rainy days and when you need a bit of shade. Their opening hours outside of the summer peak time is rather limited though and usually closes at 3pm eg last entry an hour before closing time at 4pm on weekdays so this means school children don't even get to visit during the weekdays even if they wanted to. Sometimes, we just go in for a picnic and a swift hi and bye so it's a real shame they don't allow you in after 3pm! For those that have a Merlin or annual pass for the sealife this is not great all as this ultimately means that this can only be used one third of the year! I guess they are just not busy enough to warrant opening longer. Nearest cheapest parking would be Morrisons supermarket ÂŁ2.50 for 1 hr or ÂŁ4 for 2 hours. ÂŁ2.50 can be reimbursed after minimum shopping spend of ÂŁ10. You must shop at least ÂŁ10 when parking here in order to get parking validated. Can bring scooters and bikes in but park at own risk at buggy bay outside toilets section inside. Generally, safe when locked up together. Only exit is via gift shop and they have cameras here. There is a great selection of underwater sealife to see. Our favourites are the jelly fish, turtles and sharks. Great place for kids to run around and explore. A small coffee shop with tables and chairs. Clean and well stocked with utensils and napkins. Many sensory interactive toys dotted around and also a rock pool for kids to explore Ray and shark eggs. Handwash sinks right next to rock pool and cafe which is practical and ideal. Staff are always smiley and friendly. Open longer please!
Positive experience: Good for little ones, felt a little run down in places, worth a visit though
Fantastic experience: Amazing place for a day out with the kids.I was impressed about the diversity of species, the beauty of aquarium and kids activities.Worth every penny. Highly recommend to everyone.
Positive experience: I suggest once visit this is the ist sea life
Positive experience: We took our 6 month old here and she loved the sensory experience. Lots of conservation information but we did feel some tanks were very small for some of the fish, especially the octopus.
Fantastic experience: My son was apprehensive about the VR experience but staff member Louis was very patient with him. He communicated well with my son at his level and my son ultimately enjoyed the VR a lot! Louis is surely an asset to the team at Sea Life. Thank you!
Negative experience: Tickets weren’t working so they charged us an extra £12. Staff were rude about taking photos. One staff member shouted at us for taking a photo of us. Went with a school trip and everyone felt disappointed by our treatment.
Positive experience: Visited the Sealife centre during a family trip to Brighton. We didn't realise that there are two entrances, so don't do what we did and carry a large pram down the million steps! Plenty so see, as with other aquariums we have visited. The main attraction here is a huge tank with plenty of sharks, rays and a couple of very large turtles. We managed to get a small discount via the Blue Loggt Card, and picture packages at the end seemed pretty reasonable.
Positive experience: Buy tickets in advance otherwise you'll be losing money, unless local to brighton, not worth visiting, does not warrant the cost, if you have money to burn then would recommend otherwise a lot of activities you have to pay extra for
Fantastic experience: We went to visit Sea life on a rainy day just to pass the time and it turned out to be an amazing experience. We arrived just on time to see the turtle feeding. Lost of things to see and the kind staff is always available for any questions. Highly recommended to anyone!
Hi Toni! Wow, it sounds like you had a splash-tastic time with us at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled that your rainy day adventure turned into an amazing experience. Catching the turtle feeding is always a treat, isn't it? Our team loves sharing their passion and knowledge, so it's fantastic to hear they were able to make your visit even more enjoyable. Thanks a ton for recommending us! We hope to see you swimming back our way soon for more underwater fun! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Have always loved visiting this particular sea life, accessible and friendly. The staff really are passionate about the animals and take pride in their enclosures. Have been a few times now.
Hi E Whelan, Wow, thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you love visiting SEA LIFE Brighton and find it accessible and friendly. Our team is passionate about the animals and their care, so it's wonderful to know that it shows. We're delighted to have you visit us multiple times and can't wait to welcome you back for more underwater adventures. Thanks again for sharing your experience with us! Fantastic experience: Great day out here with the Grandkids it's one of the best sea life centres
Hi Daren Jeffery, Wow, it sounds like you had an amazing time with your grandkids at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that you consider us one of the best sea life centers. It's always a joy to know that families are making wonderful memories with us. We hope to see you and your grandkids again for another fun-filled adventure under the sea! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: The most interesting part in this aquarium is that you can find ants "working" inside the tube. However, the main focus in it is still those sea animals, like fish, turtles and octopus etc.
Hey Andrew! Thanks a ton for your awesome review! We're thrilled to hear that you found our little ant workers as fascinating as our sea creatures. It's always fun to see those tiny critters in action, isn't it? We're glad you enjoyed the fish, turtles, and octopus too—our stars of the show! Hope to see you back at SEA LIFE Brighton for more underwater adventures soon! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Negative experience: The day started fine when we managed to get a discount since booking online otherwise it would have been double the price in person. The first corridor had fish tanks missing (without fish in it ), I understand that the hall way is long but it would be better if all the tanks were full. There was 3 workers all standing together and laughing at us since we didn’t know what fish we were looking at. I found them laughing all the time and judging us… also , the room with the big turtle smelt like fish and I couldn’t breathe. Their was also a man doing building work as we walked past the seating , I literally hat to climb past people which was dangerous since I could have fallen into the tank with all the sharks , this is absolutely insane and unacceptable. The gift shop was very expensive and the lady in there looked at me concerned when I was read out the prices and was shocked since I couldn’t afford it. Also , the whole trip lasted 10 minutes
Hi Callum, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - we're glad to hear you managed to nab a discount for your underwater adventure! We have only one display currently closed in the centre - this is in the 'fishy neighbours' section of our Victorian arcade that you mentioned: we are very excited to reveal a brand new native display, hopefully in the next few weeks! Our team members on site are very passionate about what they do and love to share fishy fun facts to educate our guests. This is not inline with our usual glowing reviews surrounding our team members, so can only apologise that you felt this way. As we are an aquarium, and we do home a number of fish and other rescued creatures, it is not surprising that you might catch the occasional fishy aroma around the centre - on this occasion our creatures are very embarrassed to hear you did not like their scent. We are currently investing into some building improvements by the seating as you mentioned, but our ocean display is protected with a glass balustrade that stands over 1.5m tall. Falling in would've been pretty astonishing! Lastly, I'm impressed you managed to do all of that in 10 minutes - you speedy sharks! Our centre usually takes at least 90 minutes to roam around, and with over 4000 creatures to meet, it's easy to take your time and learn all about the conservation projects we are a part of to protect our oceans for years to come. Thanks again for your feedback. We do hope that if you choose to visit us again, you'll have a more JAWsome experience. Best Fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton team.
Positive experience: Very expensive for what you get. It's a reasonably good experience however there's no value at those prices. Would recommend the London Sea Life, you get a lot more for your money.
Hi Laurence, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that you felt the experience didn't match the value you expected. We strive to offer an engaging and memorable visit for all our guests, and your insights are invaluable in helping us improve. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the London SEA LIFE, and we hope to bring some of that magic to Brighton as well. If you have any specific suggestions on how we can enhance our offerings, we'd love to hear them. You can contact us via messenger on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/sealifebrighton Don’t forget, you can make savings when purchasing in advance via our website. Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: What a fantastic afternoon we had at Sea Life today. We were able to walk straight in and every member of staff we met were happy and friendly. Our highlight was the turtle feed featuring Charlotte and Savannah feeding and Lou giving the talk. It was very informative and Lou was both engaging and enthusiastic. We also managed to have a glass bottomed boat ride where Charlotte gave us more information about the sharks, rays and turtles. I think what made the day so special was how much the girls enjoyed their job which made us enjoy our time there too.

Fantastic experience: A wonderful experience at the oldest aquarium in the country, lovely architecture of the vaulted ceilings, the glass bottomed boat and glass tunnel are amazing to see the turtles and black tip sharks, the staff are very knowledgeable and couldn't be more helpful

Fantastic experience: Worth a visit! From the moment you step inside this charming Victorian aquarium, you’re transported into a vibrant underwater world full of colorful fish, quirky critters, and mesmerizing tanks. The touch pools are a highlight — you can actually get hands-on with starfish and crabs! Plus, the underwater tunnel feels like a secret submarine ride, surrounded by graceful sharks and rays gliding overhead. Perfect for a family day out or a quirky date, Sea Life Brighton combines education with pure entertainment — and the seaside vibes just add to the charm. Clean toilets, good customer service, parking on the seafront. Word of advice- dont buy directly from sealife, you can buy cheaper tickets online, I used Ingresso.
Hi Grace! Wow, your review just made our day! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a fantastic time exploring our vibrant underwater world. It sounds like you made the most of your visit, from the touch pools to the magical underwater tunnel. We're glad you enjoyed the seaside vibes and found our facilities up to scratch. Fantastic experience: Amazing experience travelled 3 hours to come here for the animal crossing experience was well worth it will remember this for a long time ❤️ Cafe in the centre of the sea life centre for refreshments was ideal as we sat here to wait between character photographs. Staff were friendly was a really incredible experience
Hi Emily, Wow, thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear that your 3-hour journey was worth it and that you had such an amazing time with us at SEA LIFE Brighton. It's wonderful to know that the Animal Crossing experience left a lasting impression on you! Our team will be delighted to hear your kind words about their friendliness. We hope to welcome you back for more incredible experiences in the future! Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: Visited for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. Very disappointed to get there and see that the octopus had passed away as we travelled to Brighton especially to show her, no news of this online & octopus pages still live on the website. Nice aquarium to walk around however harder with pushchair when it’s busy.
Hi Gemma, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. I'm truly sorry to hear about your disappointment regarding the octopus. I can only imagine how excited your daughter must have been to see it. We should have communicated this change more clearly, and I apologize for any inconvenience this caused during your visit. I'm glad to hear that you found the aquarium nice to walk around, though I understand that navigating with a pushchair during busy times can be challenging. We’re always looking for ways to improve accessibility and your feedback is invaluable. We hope to welcome you and your family back in the future for a more enjoyable experience. If there's anything else you'd like to share, please feel free to reach out. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: This is the oldest aquarium in the world and is a fabulous example of Victorian architecture. It's well stocked, lots to see, and very accessible for small children to see the fish and marine life easily. Book ahead of time because the walk up price is expensive, you can save a lot on the entrance fee.
Hi Chris, Wow, thank you so much for your fantastic 5* review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit to SEA LIFE Brighton and appreciated the charm of our Victorian architecture. It's great to know that our exhibits were accessible and enjoyable for the little ones too! Booking ahead is definitely a smart tip, and we're glad you found it helpful. We hope to welcome you and your family back for another underwater adventure soon! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Fantastic experience: An amazing experience. Because of the collaboration with Animal Crossing. We made a booking on 9 June. In the aquarium, you could explore the sea life of course but also with some specifies in tropical forest as well. They would have feeding sessions as well If you go with children, you could sit down as audience and the host would ask you questions about the sea life like turtles and sharks. Overall it is very good experience and though without animal crossing, I would still visit again and thanks for protecting the sea life in the city. Thanks for the trusts and charity in the aquarium as well.
Hi Henry, Wow, what a fantastic review! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you had an amazing experience at SEA LIFE Brighton, especially with our collaboration with Animal Crossing. It sounds like you had a blast exploring both the sea life and the tropical forest exhibits. We're glad you enjoyed the feeding sessions and the interactive Q&A with our hosts—it's always fun to learn about turtles and sharks, right? It's wonderful to know that even without the Animal Crossing collaboration, you'd still want to visit us again. Thank you so much for your kind words about our efforts in protecting sea life and supporting charity. Your support means the world to us, and we can't wait to welcome you back for another adventure! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Positive experience: Visited when the Sea Life x Animal Crossing collaboration begun. As many have already pointed out about the aquarium, it is quite small, so having the stamp stations around not only helps with ensuring you have visited all areas, but also to make the ticket prices well worth it. That aside, the aquarium is very lovely with many species of animals, and even an extra area (the "Jungle" section) for insects. The staff are super friendly and helpful, especially the photographers and the people working behind the counter where you can pay for your photos! Overall, a very pleasant hour or so spent in Brighton! Definitely recommend booking tickets well in advance; makes the entry far more hassle-free!
Hi Sofia, Thanks a ton for swimming by to share your experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the SEA LIFE Brighton Animal Crossing collaboration and found the stamp stations a fun addition. It's great to know that you appreciated the variety of species and the rain forest "Jungle" section too! Our team, especially the photographers and counter crew, will be over the moon to hear your kind words. They love making visits special for everyone. We're glad you had a pleasant time and found booking in advance a breeze. We hope to welcome you back for another underwater adventure soon! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Fantastic experience: Today we had a special VIP family experience visit. The morning was absolutely brilliant for all of us. Our guide, Savannah helped to make our visit very special.
Hi Tracey, Wow, it sounds like you had a splash-tastic time with us at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that your VIP family experience was absolutely brilliant. Savannah is indeed a gem, and we're so glad she could make your visit extra special. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with us. We can't wait to welcome you and your family back for more underwater adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: Loved that you could tell it was a old aquarium from the off...lovely structures. Staff were welcoming and smiley. ÂŁ44 for two adults ÂŁ4 for info leaflet (we did not buy) and also donation to the aquarium, all a bit much for the experience. It was quite busy in there which was fine. If we had known about the different talks/demos and the times they were happening when we arrived, we would have gone straight there. Also a school of five year olds were there. Being loud and running around. I understand children can be exited but maybe there could be time set aside for just school visits As difficult to take pictures/ videos when they are running everywhere. Just I thought so everyone can enjoy the experience. We won't be coming back as it was expensive for what we experienced . Unless schools go at set times just for them.
Hi Lynz bubbles, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We're thrilled to hear that you appreciated the historic charm of our aquarium and that our team made you feel welcome with their smiles! We understand that the pricing and the busy atmosphere, especially with the school group, overshadowed your experience. Your feedback about having dedicated times for school visits is really valuable, and we'll definitely consider it as we strive to make SEA LIFE Brighton enjoyable for everyone. If you decide to give us another chance, we wanted to share information about our 'Adult Late Events' which is an exclusive adult only evening. https://www.visitsealife.com/brighton/explore/events/adult-lates/ We'd love to welcome you back and hopefully provide a more enjoyable experience. Again, thank you for your feedback as comments such as yours help us to better the guests experience in the future. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, the glass bottom boat is really informative. And the animal crossing collaboration was really fun. Thank you so much brighton sea life, as we have driven down from Leeds to see this specifically, and it was amazing.
Hey Jack “Chaos is Pro” McKay! Wow, it sounds like you had an epic adventure with us at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that the glass bottom boat and the animal crossing collaboration made your trip all the way from Leeds totally worth it. Your excitement is contagious, and we're so glad we could be a part of your amazing day. Thank you for the awesome review, and we hope to see you again for more underwater fun! Splashing regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Amazing day out. Beautifully kept sealife. Interesting facts. Interactive bits that kept 5 year old entertained. Victoriana parts of the building all well preserved.
Hi Joanna, Wow, thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you and your little one had an amazing day out at SEA LIFE Brighton. We hope they made your visit as memorable as a day in your own Animal Crossing village! Can't wait to have you back for more underwater adventures. Catch you later! The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: It was good but definitely overcrowded. We had to leave the shark/turtle feeding talk because the guys microphone was so loud! Other than that - the displays and Facilities were great
Hi Naomi, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us at SEA LIFE Brighton. We are sorry to hear that the crowding and the loud microphone overshadowed your visit. We truly want every guest to have a wonderful time, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the displays and facilities, though! We hope to welcome you back in the future for an even better experience. If there's anything else you'd like to share, we're all ears! Take care, Guest Experience Team SEA LIFE Brighton
Negative experience: Pros: Staff are lovely, fish are well looked after and it's a way to kill an hour. Cons: All of the fish are grey to begin with?? I don't understand how Merlin can justify charging the price they do for the "world's oldest aquarium" which should be the world's smallest. It's dark, repetitive and tiny. Gets crowded and way too hot way too quickly and is very underwhelming to be then scammed into buying physical copies of poor quality pictures that were taken.
Hi Harley, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I'm really glad to hear that you found our staff lovely and noticed how well we care for our fish. We truly appreciate your kind words. I'm sorry to hear that your visit didn't meet your expectations. We understand that the experience can feel different for everyone, and we're always looking for ways to improve. Your feedback about the space, the atmosphere, and the photo service is invaluable to us. We want every visitor to have a memorable and enjoyable time, and your insights will help us work towards that goal. If you have any more thoughts or suggestions, please feel free to share them. We genuinely care about your experience and hope to make it better in the future. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: It was a nice way to spend a couple of hours, the shark & turtle feeding was really good...the tunnel is great, it can get clogged up with people as there's loads to see as it's a bit small.
Hi Marcelle, Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the shark and turtle feeding and found the tunnel to be a highlight. We understand that it can get a bit crowded at times, and we're always looking for ways to improve the flow so everyone can fully enjoy the experience. Your feedback is really valuable to us, and helps us to improve the guest journey. If you have any more suggestions or thoughts, feel free to share them with us. We hope to see you again soon for another underwater adventure! Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic visit hlto sea life Brighton. Contains the usual array of fishes in a stunningly beautiful Victorian style building and holds a cafe powered by Costa. Sea life do lots for marine life so your business supports Sea animals around the world. For that reason 5 stars. Keep up the good work!
Hey Ace Rimmer! Wow, what a fantastic review! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you had such a great time at SEA LIFE Brighton. Isn't the Victorian building just stunning? We're so glad you enjoyed the fishy friends and the Costa-powered café too! Your support means the world to us and helps us continue our mission to protect marine life globally. Thank you for the 5 stars and for being a part of our journey. We can't wait to welcome you back for more underwater adventures! Keep swimming with us! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Fantastic experience: It was our first time, and the girls loved it as much as I did. Was a bit smaller than the Birmingham one, but still lot's to see considering it's a Sea Life on the Sea Front! The cafe inside is such a good idea, where you can just sit down and have a munch whilst awing at the fish next to you. The one thing I regret is not going on the glass boat - the kids didn't want to go on it . Will be coming back for that!
Hey M K! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you and the girls had such a fantastic time at SEA LIFE Brighton! It's wonderful to know that even though we're a bit smaller than Birmingham, you still found plenty to enjoy. Our café is indeed a cozy spot to relax and enjoy the underwater views, isn't it? Ah, the glass-bottom boat is definitely a must-try for next time! We can't wait to welcome you all back for another adventure. Until then, keep swimming in those happy memories! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Fantastic experience: Great place to spend the time with your family. An underwater tunnel is amazing. Can definitely recommend a visit
Hey Martin! Thanks a ton for your awesome review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your family had a JAWsome time exploring SEA LIFE Brighton. The underwater tunnel is definitely one of our favourite spots too—it's like stepping into another world, right? We're so glad you enjoyed it and really appreciate your recommendation. Hope to see you swimming by again soon for more underwater adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Positive experience: I have visited Brighton's Sea Life Centre a couple of times now, and I would go again. The variety of sea life they have, that you would otherwise not be able to see is astounding. For kids, it is an amazing experience to see these animals. I would say it is definitely worth visiting. However, prices for some things can be a little steep, but catch it while there are offers and it is very much worth the money. But I will say, I understand the costs, as the work and care of these animals can easily be seen.
Hi Anthony, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about your visits to SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that you've enjoyed the variety of sea life and that it has been an amazing experience for kids. It's always our goal to create memorable experiences for all our visitors. We understand that pricing can sometimes feel a bit steep, and we truly appreciate your understanding of the care and effort that goes into maintaining our aquatic family. We do our best to offer promotions and deals to make visits more accessible, so we're glad you found them worthwhile. We can't wait to welcome you back for another underwater adventure soon! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Negative experience: I really enjoyed and that was where I thought we have so much more things to see in out life and we didn’t have enough opportunities but I really enjoyed this one But from beginning when u go in they will take a pic of you and the don’t mention you have to pay for it in the end which is 13 for one picture!!!!! Thats only reason to make me not do 5 starts and they should tell you from the beginning!!
Hi Balaa, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit and found it inspiring! It's wonderful to know that our aquarium could offer you such a memorable experience. However, I'm truly sorry to hear about the surprise with the photo pricing. Fantastic experience: Great sea life centre, well laid out and knowledgable staff. My family loved the big turtles and the black tipped reef sharks , turtle dropped a big doo doo lol
Hey Kevin, Thanks a ton for your awesome review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your family had a fantastic time at SEA LIFE Brighton. Those big turtles sure know how to make a splash, don't they? And the black tipped reef sharks are always a hit! We hope you captured some memorable moments, even the unexpected ones, haha! Can't wait to welcome you all back for more underwater adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: It was a breathtaking experience. There is so much sea life to see up close! Initially, I planned to spend about half an hour, but upon entering the aquarium, I was in awe of what I saw and didn't know when time flew by. The commentary during feeding the sea animals was funny and interesting and I enjoyed every bit of it. This is a great place for kids as even though there were many children ranging from infants to Teens, there were very few cries and meltdowns, and I want to assume it was because they were having fun. This is a great place to have fun, learn and appreciate nature. I highly recommend .
Hi Dr. Oluchukwu Anaukwu, Wow, your review made us smile from gill to gill! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you had such a breathtaking experience at SEA LIFE Brighton. It's fantastic that our sea creatures managed to capture your attention and make time fly by. Our team loves adding a splash of fun to the feeding commentary, so it's great to know you enjoyed it! We're also delighted to hear that the kids had a blast too—keeping the little ones entertained and meltdown-free is always a win in our book! Thank you for recommending us and for appreciating the wonders of the ocean with us. We can't wait to welcome you back for more underwater adventures! Wishing you oceans of fun, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: Quite a small sea life. Only took about 30 mins to walk around. Very pretty inside. We came during half term and there was a school trip from abroad going on and it was extremely loud. Teenagers shouting and screaming around the place which made it quite unenjoyable
Hi B C, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re glad to hear you found the inside of SEA LIFE Brighton pretty, but we’re sorry that your visit was less enjoyable due to the noise. We understand how important it is to have a peaceful and enjoyable experience, and we apologise for the disruption caused by the school trip. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration to improve future visits. We hope you'll give us another chance to provide a more relaxing experience next time. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: We did the Sharks after dark experience today and we had an fantastic time! It was amazing to be in the sea life centre without the crowds. Our tour guide, Olly, was excellent! I would highly recommend for any age.
Hi Martha Turtle! Wow, your excitement is contagious! We're thrilled to hear that you had a fantastic time at our Sharks After Dark experience. It's truly special to explore the sea life center in a more intimate setting, isn't it? Olly will be over the moon to know that you enjoyed the tour and found it excellent. Thank you for recommending us to all ages—it's wonderful to know our experiences can be enjoyed by everyone. We can't wait to welcome you back for more underwater adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Fantastic experience: Was in Brighton for the day, and the wife loves an aquarium! Really good fun to be fair, staff were friendly, lots to see and plenty to learn. Was busy, but it was half term and never felt that bad in fairness. The very cleverly camouflaged Octopus was entertaining, and the tunnel walk is always great fun. The Sea Turtles are huge!
Hey Danny Martin! Thanks a ton for swimming by SEA LIFE Brighton and for sharing your JAW-some experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that you and your wife had a splash-tastic time exploring our underwater world. Our team loves making visits fun and educational, and it sounds like you got to enjoy some of our favourite residents, like the cleverly camouflaged octopus and those gigantic sea turtles! Half term can be a bit busy, but we're glad it didn't dampen your adventure. We hope to welcome you both back for more oceanic fun and discoveries soon! Wishing you waves of happiness, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: Lovely experience, beautiful olden building and a fantastic turtle /shark enclosure. It only takes 1.5 /max 2 hours to see everything but a great tourist spot when already visiting Brighton.
Hi Maria, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful olden building and our fantastic turtle and shark enclosure. It sounds like you had a lovely time exploring SEA LIFE Brighton. We agree, it's a perfect spot to visit while in Brighton, even if just for a couple of hours. We hope to welcome you back soon for more underwater adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Great day out was in the venue for 2hrs and defenatly got value for money as I used my Tesco club card vouchers.
Hey Darrel! Thanks a ton for splashing by and leaving us such a fin-tastic review! We're thrilled to hear you had a great day out and felt you got value for your money with your Tesco club card vouchers. It's always a pleasure to know our visitors enjoy their time exploring the wonders of the deep with us. We hope to sea you again soon for another underwater adventure! Fantastic experience: Went for my grandaughters 1st b/day and it was a wonderful experience. The large turtles and sharks tank was amazing. Thoroughly recommend it.
Hi Sarah, Wow, what a fantastic way to celebrate your granddaughter's 1st birthday! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a turtle-y JAWsome experience at SEA LIFE Brighton. The large turtles and sharks are indeed a sight to behold, and we're so glad they made your visit memorable. Thank you for recommending us! We hope to welcome you and your family back for more underwater adventures soon. Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Lovely environment, helpful staff, we went on a Wednesday so it was pretty empty, which was nice! Sometimes they do advance ticket sales and resident sales so keep an eye out? I didn't realise this and booked on the door which meant I missed out on the resident ticket but that was entirely my fault! Would recommend, especially to families!
Hey Arlo! Thanks a splash for your fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the lovely environment and found our staff helpful. Visiting on a quieter day like Wednesday can definitely make the experience even more magical! We do offer advance ticket sales and resident discounts from time to time, so it's great advice to keep an eye out for those. We're so glad you had a wonderful visit and would recommend us to families. We can't wait to welcome you back for more underwater adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Negative experience: Very disappointing visit. The high points were the shark and turtle feed and talk and the glass bottom boat ride (paid extra for this and it lasted about 10 minutes) I thought it would just be us on the boat but there were two other families with crying toddlers that didn't want to be on there. The lady doing the talk on the boat was great and did her best to talk over the crying children The feed and talk was good but people are so rude, coming in half way through, standing in the way and talking. The sharks and turtles were great but really it feels way too expensive for what it is, it was ÂŁ79.50 for four of us (including the short glass bottom boat "ride") you can see everything there in under an hour. They don't take cash in the cafe either. All the way around they are encouraging people to avoid micro plastics and yet they choose to serve coffee in cups with plastic lids. It was ÂŁ8 for two coffees and a small Cadbury chocolate bar.
Hello Rebecca, Thank you for sharing your experience with us at SEA LIFE Brighton. We are truly sorry to hear that your visit didn't meet your expectations. It sounds like there were some frustrating moments, especially with the glass bottom boat ride and the disruptions during the feed and talk. We strive to create a pleasant experience for all our visitors, and it's disappointing to hear that this wasn't the case for you. We understand your concerns about the pricing and the duration of the boat ride and our aim is to offer unique experiences. The glass bottom boat is offered as an additional adventure with a Guest Experience Host who shares turtle-y JAWsome facts, answers questions and allows you to SEA our creatures up close. In addition, we appreciate your feedback about the coffee with plastic lids. We have aligned our practices with our environmental messages and our proud to share we purchase our products from sustainable sources including the plastic lids that are made from plants. Thank you for mentioning the efforts of our team member on the boat. We'll make sure to pass on your kind words to her. We hope you'll consider visiting us again in the future, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us enhance our services. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Lots of fish! The oldest aquarium in the world! The architecture is Victorian and has been restored several times. You can see sharks, rays and all other sea life here. The VR was a bit over the top and my nephew and I were thrown around a bit unnecessarily during it and it was an extra cost. There is a clear message of conservation and welfare of the area which is an important part of the experience for guests.
Hey Thomas! Thanks a splash for your FIN-tastic review! We're thrilled you and your nephew had a whale of a time exploring the wonders of the world's oldest aquarium. Our Victorian architecture is something we're super proud of, and it's great to hear you appreciated it too! We're sorry to hear the VR experience was a bit of a wild ride. We always aim to make it as enjoyable as possible, so your feedback is really valuable. It's awesome to know that our conservation message resonated with you—it's something we care deeply about. We look forward to SEA-ing you again soon! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Love this place. Amazing Victorian aquarium. Place to while some hours away watching the fishes in the dark. There is something very Zen about the place. Took my child here a lot when he was young we loved it. The frog section is cool. Cafe does a good coffee.
Hey M S! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you love SEA LIFE Brighton! It sounds like you've made some wonderful memories here with your child. There's definitely something magical and calming about watching the fish in the serene, dark surroundings, isn't there? We're glad you enjoyed the frog section too—those little hoppers are quite the stars! And of course, a good coffee from our café is always a win. Thanks for sharing your experience and for being a part of our SEA LIFE family. We can't wait to welcome you back for more zen moments and aquatic adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: A nice short walk is doable around the aquarium, fairly small (as would be expected for the world's oldest!) so can be seen quickly in around half an hour or so. Our favourite bit was the large tank with the turtle (also where the sharks are). We're looking forward to seeing how the London aquarium compares.
Hi Maanas, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the large tank with the turtle and sharks—it's definitely a highlight for many of our visitors! We understand that our aquarium is on the smaller side, given its historic nature. The Brighton Aquarium was conceived and designed by Eugenius Birch in 1872, the architect responsible for the West Pier. Though we are a smaller attraction, we are the oldest and still operated aquarium in the world and try to make the displays as interesting and interactive as possible! We hope your visit to the London aquarium is just as enjoyable, and we'd love to welcome you back to SEA LIFE Brighton in the future to see any new additions we might have. Safe travels and happy exploring! Best wishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: I had a really good time at Sea Life Brighton. It was much bigger than I first thought and the giant tank with the sea turtles was by far the best part. I honestly could've sat there all day. We watched a turtle feeding and Seb was so good at telling us information about all of the different fish, sharks and turtles in the tank and even stayed around to answer questions at the end. I would definitely recommend going.
Hi Lauren, Wow, it sounds like you had an ocean of fun at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that the giant tank and our sea turtles made such a splash with you. Seb is indeed a star when it comes to sharing his knowledge and passion for marine life, and we're so glad you enjoyed the turtle feeding session. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we can't wait to welcome you back for another day of underwater adventures. Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: Had a wonderful time at the sea life centre over the weekend and the two sides that are down to it. The feeding pool viewing area is too small and as a dad of a daughter, not having access to a disabled toilet and the hygiene of the men’s was disgusting. First time in five years, I’ve asked a female member of staff check the female toilets, so I can take my daughter in there other than that all in all good day
Hi Louis, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us at SEA LIFE Brighton. We're thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful time exploring the wonders of our aquarium with your daughter. However, I'm truly sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with the feeding pool viewing area and the facilities. We understand how important it is for all our visitors to have access to clean and accessible amenities. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will certainly address these concerns with our team to ensure improvements are made. We hope to welcome you and your daughter back soon for an even better experience. If there's anything else you'd like to share, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Really great experience. Not the biggest aquarium but makes really good use of the space and has lots of really big fish. Turtles were a particular highlight. Staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. Our 5 year old loved it
Hi Mr K! Wow, it sounds like you and your 5 year old had a splash-tastic time at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that you and your little one enjoyed the turtles and the big fish. Our team is always eager to make your visit as friendly and fun as possible, so it's CRAB-ulous to know they made a great impression. We hope to see you swimming by again soon for more underwater adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Positive experience: First time going here and really enjoyed it plenty to see and staff were all happy to help with plenty of knowledge. Worth going on the boat just to get a different view and the good talk from the staff.
Hi G Bev! Thanks a splash for your fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear that you had a splash-tastic time on your first visit to SEA LIFE Brighton. Our team loves sharing their knowledge and passion for marine life, so it's great to know they made your experience enjoyable. And isn't the boat ride just the best way to SEA things from a different angle? We hope to welcome you back soon for more underwater adventures! Wishing you oceans of fun, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: After visiting sea life in London, we had to pay a visit when I was in Brighton. I found discounted tickets online which made it affordable and half the price. The staff were great, friendly and knowledgeable. The building itself added to the aesthetics as you made your way through the aquarium. The only downside is that it's much smaller than I expected. It didn't take very long to make a full circuit around all areas but we still had a great time!
Hey foojjface! Thanks a ton for swimming by SEA LIFE Brighton and leaving us such a fin-tastic review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit and found our team to be friendly and knowledgeable. It's JAW-some that you appreciated the charm of our historic building too! We totally get that our aquarium might feel a bit smaller compared to others, but we're glad you still had a splash-tacular time exploring our underwater world. With over 5,000 sea creatures to meet, there's always something magical to discover! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Negative experience: Pretty disappointed. The facility is pretty small and not worth ÂŁ20+ for admission. I went on a Friday around lunch time, it was busy and you and to queue to look at each thing. It's a one way system, so you can't go back to look at things you missed. Over all I was in and out in 1.5 hours, and that was only because I had to wait to look at some of the tanks. I'm sure the experience is different with children, but as an adult I wouldn't recommend.
Hi Emma, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I'm really sorry to hear that your visit didn't meet your expectations. We strive to offer an engaging and enjoyable experience for all our visitors, and it's disappointing to learn that we fell short during your visit. We understand that the one-way system can be frustrating, especially when it's busy, and we're always looking for ways to improve the flow and overall experience for our guests. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us make those improvements. While our aim is to inspire love for the ocean and its creatures, we also want to ensure that every visitor, regardless of age, finds value in their visit. If you have any further suggestions or would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a more enjoyable experience. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful experience at Brighton SEA LIFE. Tickets were reasonably priced, wasn’t busy when we went as it was mid week. Lots of things to see and experience. I particularly enjoyed the turtle feeling demo- the staff were really fun to listen to. Recommend it to people with kids as well as there was quite a few interactive things for kids to read and experience. They have a cafeteria with food and drink, a cute gift shop and well maintained clean toilets. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: A nice relaxing place to visit especially after 2pm during term time. I come here at least once a week as I find this to be my "happy place". Perfect place for someone lime myself who is autistic. Just wish they had their sound track available on music streaming apps
Hi Craig, Thanks a ton for your awesome review! We're thrilled to hear that SEA LIFE Brighton is your go-to spot for some chill and relaxation time. It's fantastic to know that our underwater world helps you unwind and escape. We can't wait to welcome you back for more aquatic adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Positive experience: A lovely day out with great interactive displays for kids. We particularly liked the terrapins! Some areas were a little tired but I was hugely impressed with the centre’s accessibility. We observed sensory packs, some stickers to help people interact with sensory avoiders or seekers, and at the cafe I saw a sign sharing a BSL interpreter was available. Probably the best I have seen in recent times! Would definitely recommend
Hi Sam, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your family had a lovely day out and enjoyed our interactive displays, especially the terrapins – they're quite the stars, aren't they? It's fantastic to know that our efforts in accessibility made a positive impression on you. We strive to make SEA LIFE Brighton welcoming for everyone, and your feedback is incredibly encouraging. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another fun-filled visit soon! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team

Positive experience: a very beautiful place, well-kept and entertains children and adults. the tour lasts about 1 hour and inside there are attractions that you can try. Buying tickets online costs less. I recommend it!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic really cool place to visit, my daughter loved it staff were fantastic as we arrived not long before close and we had just enough time to see everything at a pace. Charlotte on the glass bottom boat was amazing my daughter has previously been scared of boats and to go on a glass bottom boat with sharks underneath was incredible. A huge thank you to the staff this is what made this such a fantastic experience!
Hi Grace, Wow, it sounds like you and your daughter had an absolute blast at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that you both enjoyed your visit, especially the glass bottom boat experience with Charlotte. It's amazing to know that your daughter overcame her fear and had such a memorable adventure with the sharks swimming below. Our team is dedicated to making every visit special, and we're so glad they could make your experience FINtastic, even with your late arrival. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to Charlotte and the rest of the team. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with us, and we hope to welcome you and your daughter back again soon! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Negative experience: Not worth the price, in my opinion. We paid ÂŁ40 for two adults; under-twos were free. It took 10 minutes to walk around; it was so busy we didn't get a chance to really look at anything as there wasn't any space. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend.
Hi Rebecca, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm really sorry to hear that your visit didn't meet your expectations and that it felt too crowded to enjoy. We strive to offer a memorable experience for all our guests, and it's disappointing to hear that we missed the mark during your visit. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we'll be looking into ways to improve the flow and space management to ensure a more enjoyable experience for everyone. If you have any more thoughts or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. We hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future to show you the wonders of the ocean in a more relaxed setting. Warm regards, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: We had a fabulous family day out at the aquarium! We loved everything about it, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the layout was really nice and you can just walk through all of the exhibits without missing anything. The creatures were obviously the stars of the show, there are some incredible animals here but the exhibits they lived in were creative and fun to look at too. My 9 year old daughter had a great time crawling through tunnels and taking in the different environments you go through. Even the ambient music throughout the venue was nice! The aquarium is involved in some important conservation work as well which is great. We'll definitely be back, there's something for everyone here!
Hi Ian! Wow, it sounds like you and your family had a turtle-y amazing time at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed everything from our friendly staff to the creative exhibits and, of course, our incredible sea creatures. It's fantastic that your daughter had a blast exploring the tunnels and different environments—we love seeing young explorers having fun! We're also proud of our conservation efforts, and it's wonderful to know that it resonated with you. Thank you for your kind words and for being a part of our mission to inspire love for the ocean. We can't wait to welcome you all back for another underwater adventure! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team
Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic time. It was fascinating for my kids to handle the shark and ray eggs, so cool. The way they've restored the building and the lighting is super cool. The location of the cafe is great too with the option of a coffee soon after entering or before the exit on the way out. The highlight for me was seeing the huge turtle in the main pool which has the tunnel underneath. The variety of sea creatures to see is amazing. We used our merlin passes and I'm so glad we included this place on our list of places to visit!
Hey Drew! Wow, it sounds like you and your family had an absolute blast at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that your kids enjoyed handling the shark and ray eggs—how cool is that? We hope to welcome you and your family back for more ocean adventures soon! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team ✨
Positive experience: We visited on NYE. The entrance is very spacious and beautiful architectural design throughout the building. It is now modernised and well adapted. The exhibits are interactive and educational. There was a short queue for the touch and feel rock pool, the staff were approachable and informative. The large aquarium pool was wondeful, a huge variety of sea life including sharks and a turtle. The immersive tunnel under the pool is fantastic. Overall great value for money. The toilet facilities were wonderful, clean, tidy and well equipped, especially for those who have additional needs. I would give it five stars but unfortunately my son (2 year old), was able to access an out of bounds area which was not sealed off well, if I hadn't been nearby he may have hurt himself on the system taps and machinery. Health and safety surrounding access requires improving.
Hi Rhianon, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us at SEA LIFE Brighton on New Year's Eve! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful architecture, interactive exhibits, and the immersive tunnel. Fantastic experience: This is a great attraction for kids and adults. It's run by really passionate staff who have a great knowledge. There's lot's to see which is well laid out and easy to find your way around. There's a cafe on site which we didn't try. We used park and ride to get here.

Positive experience: The aquarium is in a really impressive and superb place with the Victorian arcades. We visited with our two children and it took us 1 hour. It is quite short considering the very high price… but it is worth it! The part with the turtles and sharks with the magnificent tunnel is really the centerpiece of the visit. We recommend!
Hi Coralie G., Thank you so much for your delightful review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed your visit to SEA LIFE Brighton, especially the magnificent tunnel with the turtles and sharks. Fantastic experience: We bought tickets through lovetovisit.com and paid ÂŁ12.80 for adult tickets. We went on a January Saturday at 1pm. It wasn't too busy. The aquariums and variety of sea animals was amazing and fascinating to watch/look at. I walked around with my wife (no kids in tow) so we were able to really take our time and enjoy talking to each other about each aquarium. We spent nearly 2 hours walking though Sea Life centre and both very much enjoyed it. Huge variety of fish, from tiny tetras to massive sea fish, reef sharks and 3 huge green sea turtles. They also had fresh water and tropical aquariums with fish like carp (huge) and roach common to the UK as well as freshwater tropical fish like Piranhas Excellent value for money. Bravo!!!
Hey Mark! Wow, it sounds like you and your wife had an absolutely fin-tastic time at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the amazing variety of sea creatures, from the tiny tetras to the massive reef sharks and those impressive green sea turtles. It's great that you could take your time to explore and chat about our marine life. We're so glad you found it excellent value for money and had nearly two hours of underwater adventure. Your enthusiasm is contagious, and we hope to welcome you back for another deep dive into the wonders of the ocean soon! Thanks for the rave review and for being ocean champions with us! Fantastic experience: We spent an enjoyable afternoon in the aquarium. All exhibits were in great condition. We especially liked watching the 85 year old turtle being fed greens. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Victorian building is spectacular with vaulted ceilings and Tiffany lamps.
Hi Christine! Wow, it sounds like you had a fantastic time at SEA LIFE Brighton! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your afternoon with us and that our exhibits, especially our charming 85-year-old turtle, made a splash. Our team loves sharing their knowledge, and it's great to know they added to your experience. Isn't the Victorian building just stunning? Those vaulted ceilings and decorative glass lamps really do add a magical touch! Thanks for the awesome review and for being part of our ocean-loving community. We can't wait to welcome you back for more underwater adventures! Best fishes, The SEA LIFE Brighton Team

Positive experience: We loved it! Our visit was wonderful, and the architecture was absolutely amazing. I’m giving 4 stars only because a few exhibits were closed. That said, managing four excited kids was entirely my own challenge and not a reflection on Sea Life! All in all, it’s a must-visit for anyone who loves the sea as much as I do.

Positive experience: Fantastic place to go if you love sea life. Vast variety of different sea creatures to see and with educational experiences to be had. The architecture of the building is incredible as being the oldest aquarium it sure had some character. A few tanks were tired and being renovated otherwise was thoroughly impressed! Was slightly on the expensive side but worth it all the same as we got to see feeding time with the turtles, sharks and rays in the marine tank. Would recommend !

Fantastic experience: Had a great few hours here at the end of the school holidays. Kids loved it and they also really enjoyed virtual reality experience. Because we travelled by train we were able to get a discount through National Rail at the time.

Positive experience: We recently visited Sea Life Brighton with our three-year-old child, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The aquarium is beautifully set up, with a historic charm that makes the visit unique and engaging for both children and adults. From the moment we walked in, the underwater world captivated our little one, and it was clear that the exhibits are designed with younger visitors in mind. There’s plenty to see and explore, making it an excellent place for family outings, especially with young children. One of the highlights for our child was the interactive rock pool, where kids can touch some of the sea creatures like starfish and anemones. The staff there were very friendly and patient, explaining things in a way that was easy for young children to understand. Our three-year-old loved being able to gently touch the starfish, and it was a great way to introduce him to the wonders of marine life in a hands-on way. The diversity of sea life at the aquarium is impressive. From seahorses and jellyfish to the striking colors of tropical fish, there’s plenty to keep kids engaged. The ocean tunnel, where you can walk through and see sharks, turtles, and rays swimming overhead, was a big hit with us all. Our child was fascinated by the large green sea turtle that gracefully swam above us, and the sharks moving around the tank were equally mesmerizing. However, one area we felt could be improved was the turtle and shark feeding session. While it was an exciting part of the visit, the presenter’s voice was not clearly audible, which made it difficult to follow along. This was a little frustrating as we were quite eager to learn more about these incredible animals. We found that the presenter was speaking rather quickly, which compounded the problem, especially in a space with lots of ambient noise from the crowd. If the presenter had spoken a bit slower and clearer, it would have been easier to engage with the information. Additionally, while the presenter was mentioning different fish species during the feeding session, it was often unclear which fish she was talking about. Since the tank has many types of fish swimming around at once, it would have been helpful if the presenter had been positioned closer to the fish being discussed or used a pointer to make it easier to follow along. This is something we felt personally, as it would have helped us connect the commentary with the actual fish we were observing. Despite this minor issue, our visit to Sea Life Brighton was highly enjoyable, especially for our little one. The exhibits are well-maintained, and there’s plenty of information for those who want to delve deeper into marine life. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the interactive aspects of the aquarium are a huge plus for families with young children. In conclusion, Sea Life Brighton is a wonderful place to visit with kids. We came away with some fantastic memories, and our three-year-old had an amazing time exploring the different sea creatures. With a little improvement in the presentation of the feeding sessions, it would have been an even better experience. Nonetheless, we highly recommend Sea Life Brighton as a fun and educational outing for families.
Wowza Lino James a 4* review! Tanks so much for swimming by to let us know how JAWsome your day was. We appreciate the constructive regarding the talk and will be 'shore' to take it into account during future feeding sessions. We hope to SEA you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Well worth a visit. Staff are friendly, and the exhibits are fantastic.
Ahoy there jason preedy! It's FINtastic to hear you enjoyed your visit to SEA LIFE Brighton! We do appreciate the CRABulous feedback about our staff and exhibits! We hope to welcome you back again soon Jason!
Positive experience: While the atmosphere and architecture is good the aquarium was smaller than I expected. The shark and turtle tank was impressive. Overall a good time but wouldn't imagine spending more than an hour inside.
Thanks for swimming by and leaving us a review Tomster. Select Closing The Brighton Aquarium was conceived and designed by Eugenius Birch, the architect responsible for the West Pier. Though we are a smaller attraction, we are the oldest and still operated aquarium in the world and try to make the displays as interesting and interactive as possible. We are glad to hear that you found the displays in the Ocean Day & Night Display turtle-y JAWsome! Best fishes!
Positive experience: Decent place for a day out but I don’t feel it’s worth it for the price, especially when paying £66 for 2 adults and 3 half price children tickets! We went on a day where kids were half price at £9 but £18 for a kids ticket in general is very overpriced for what’s on offer. Although a beautiful site, it’s quite small and you can easily walk around the site within an hour, it took us 1.5 hours as we walked very slowly and took lots of pictures. There’s a cafe in the middle with snacks, drinks and ice cream and you can also pay extra for VR experiences or to go on a glass boat trip. Would be nice to have more talk sessions throughout the day too. Staff are lovely and always happy to help.
Thanks for swimming by and leaving us a review N M. We're sorry to hear that you felt this way with regards to your recent experience. Ahoy there Jessica Hund! It's FINtastic to hear the family enjoyed your visit to SEA LIFE Brighton! Thank you for the 5* review and we look forward to SEA-ing you again soon!
Positive experience: It’s a great place for a family visit, but for sure overpriced… 20 £ !!! Yes it’s a tourist city! Yes the running costs are high but 20 £ is very expensive! Anyhow it’s clean and tidy!! Couple of small parts where closed due refurbished. Staff are friendly! Can be load and crowded at times but they have time slot entry system so it’s manageable!
Thanks for swimming by and leaving us a review Shervin Khatiri. We are happy to hear that the staff made your visit more memorable! We do strive to make the attraction as turtle-y exciting as possible and value for money by having a variety of amazing displays, from trekking through our Rainforest Adventure to exploring what the Ocean has to offer in our Day and Night attraction.
