Fantastic experience: Small but nicely done DEC Fish Hatchery. There's only a handful of aquariums to see along with informational pamphlets. There is the history of the fishery along with photos. This is not an aquarium--so don't go there thinking this is what your going to see. They may tanks of fish for breeding on the grounds somewhere but we couldn't find the bldg. It's free to get in with limited parking.

Positive experience: Needs more of a variety of local fish Other than that it was a nice place and a restroom for tourists is a plus!

Fantastic experience: Free. Cool to see the fish. Definitely a quick visit. Something to do to kill 20 minutes.

Fantastic experience: Great little stop to take the family. Nice little aquarium with several tanks showing the lake and rivers native fish. Amazing to see the Sturgeon and read about the work the New York Environmental Conservation is doing to bring them back. Very educational and excellent displays.

Fantastic experience: This is mostly a working DEC facility, and as such isn't generally designed for visitors. However they have converted part of the first floor of the main building into a small public aquarium showcasing some native fish and it is well done for such a small exhibit - and it's free to visit! There is lots of free parking (and mooring) available, and the aquarium is accessible for the mobility impaired.

Positive experience: Not what I expected. There wasn't too much to see. My 5 year old grandson ran upstairs to ask the lady in the office where the rest of the fish were.

Positive experience: Wonderful experience. This is a research station that allows private boats to tie up there. No power and no potable water but there are washrooms and showers.
