Welaka National Fish Hatchery - Aquarium

Fantastic experience: Amazing place for educational stop small but very interesting. Close up view of the local habitat. No fee to go in. We spent 30 minutes there and as a local person I was surprised by what I learned A+++ open I believe from 9 am till 3pm daily

Fantastic experience: Excellent place for a quick bathroom stop and perfect for stretching your legs and seeing some fish. It's a free little one room aquarium with a lot of freshwater fish native to the state.

Fantastic experience: I visited the Welaka National Fish Hatchery Aquarium today. It was very informative and I throughly enjoyed it.

Negative experience: Said was open 8 to three on the website and on the building when we got there but no one was there and not open.

Fantastic experience: The Welaka Fish Hatchery offers an annual event for kids 5 to 15. Kids fish for free and take home what they catch. Years have varied experiences. Some years favor bags with basic fishing supplies. Some years kids may get a fishing pole, and other years kids get raffle tickets for items like bikes, tents, or more. It's always a great time!

Positive experience: Nice place to see some fish. No one was there to ask questions but there was detailed information near each tank and further information online. It is an indoor area with a separate building for restrooms which I did not look in so do not know quality. I'll try to return someday to look into it.

Positive experience: I have brought all of kid and grandchildren here. Its important that they know was fish are in the waters that I grew up on.

Fantastic experience: Nice lil spot to bird watch. We saw an eagle flying just at our height. My son is 4 and this is the first time he got to see one in the wild! It flew clear across the ponds and was direct height of tower...Great views!!!!!!
