Fantastic experience: came in looking for aiptasia, majanos, and asterinas and they gave me those + more pests. they also have a really cool berghia farm

Fantastic experience: I ordered a cuc. Arrived the next day. I only acclimated in the bags for temperature. Snails and crabs are thriving one week later. Two have molted. I do drop an algae wafer, and blue legs all sky dive off the highest rocks. Like a dog, to get the food, lol. My favorite store in the Midwest. Update: 3 months later. The yellow clown goby I ordered. Acclimated well and eventually feed on flakes. Depleted some pods. He greets you at the glass, lol.

Fantastic experience: Great place, great staff. Prices on the site cover a wide range - sometimes high, sometimes unbelievably low. I like to watch for a good deal and then drop by to pick it up to save on shipping. Everything I've bought was always healthy.

Fantastic experience: The owner is totally amazing! Great personality and very kind. My husband and I visit here a few times and each visit was nice. The staff is kind, the store is neat and always has a unique selection of fish. The prices are reasonable on some fish. Others are expensive but that's to be expected for saltwater fish. The best part is the owner being down to earth and easy to talk to. Answers questions and is eagered to help. Hope he stays in buisiness for a long time! I learn more things about saltwater each time I visit this buisiness. Great guy.

Negative experience: Went to the shop in stl, open sign but door was locked. Ordered online later, website says next day air shipping paid 50 bucks for shipping (cost more than the product), 4 or 5 days later my order hadn't shipped, wasn't gonna get shipped either til the following Monday. 2 stars cuz they did give me a refund. Disappointed because they seemed like a good shop but im not gonna pay more for shipping just to have to wait twice as long as competitors, don't waste your time.

Negative experience: Store deleted items from my shipment. Only informed me the night before shipment. I had no opportunity to cancel or approve the redacted items. Started email with Good morning at 545 pm? When inquiring of why the items went out of stock after being purchased, they refunded me an said have a nice day. The items the were deleted were the premise for the order to begin with...... Save yourself the headache order from someone else. Totally unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Went in to look around sense we are deciding on getting a tank just unsure at we want to put in it. Their stock is amazing! Cute star fish, pufferfish, and beautiful coral and a ton more. It's all so beautiful and well taken care of. You can definitely tell how much passion they have in their work. Who I believe is the owner of the store is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and very kind. She answered all of our questions and showed us examples of everything. We will definitely be coming back here to either look at what amazing things they get in or hopefully to get items for our tank. Highly recommend to those who have salt water aquariums

Updating review as just placed another order with Salty Underground, this time an Anemone and Maxima clam. no issues with shipping and the livestock arrived alive and acclimated great!

Negative experience: Did a large order of B. Nudibranch, shipping was fine and fast but when they showed up out of 25 maybe 2 were moving. After over 30 minutes of drip acclimation still no movement. Chatted with customer service on line. They had very little interest in helping. Send them a pic as they requested, was not and am still not looking for a refund, and he just said they look fine. How can you tell from a still picture? The only thing that would tell them it was bad apparently is brown water or missing legs. So unless they show up like that its business as usual. Service is terrible and will not return.

Negative experience: Prices so high you'll faint. Just like the other stores. No online discounts just full triple boat retail. Someone's gotta pay for the 60,000 boat and 500,00 house it will be you

Fantastic experience: I ordered Berghia nudibranchs from them and they arrived in less than 24 hours to my apartment, I can't express how impressed I'am with how prompt they deliver. All the nudibranchs arrived healthy and the heat pack was working great. Will definitely recommend friends to buy from Salty Underground.

Fantastic experience: I am a repeat customer of Salty Underground. They have been very consistent with their quality, customer service and packaging. They are always extremely helpful. I love their coral. The prices are affordable. I get exactly what I see on their site. I'd recommend them to anyone in need of corals, snails and etc... I have not purchased fish from them yet. Negative experience: I ordered four Berghia Nudibranchs and a frag of Zoanthids, totaling about $95. The order arrived and I acclimated very slowly to ensure a safe transport. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, except for the frag being extremely small. It has been almost a month and there is absolutely no improvement with the aptasia and I do not think any of the slugs survived. We have tried to get in contact with the company, but there has been no reply or answer. Everything was a complete waste of money, but to not even hear from the company is absolutely ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Great customer service. Ordered Nudibranchs and an acan. Unfortunately they were delivered on the coldest day of the year and FedEx was late. The poor acan couldn’t recover. I was promptly given credit. I had never gotten anything like Nudibranchs so I had lots of questions, they were great in getting back to me. They were all live and well. I will definitely order from them again.

Negative experience: Three men from The Salty Underground just walked into our local pet store and demanded we take their bucket of yellow lab convicts. When we told them it's against company policy they asked where our bathroom was and threatened to flush them in our toilet. When we refused to let them do so one of the men rudely said "we will just dump them outside" and walked out of the store. They dumped some of the water out on our sidewalk but didn't dump the fish. Then they got into what I assume is the company car since it is screen wrapped with marine fish and has your company name on both sides. I know nothing of the quality of your aquarium cleaning services, but I am very unhappy with the quality of your employees. Threatening to dump fish and attempting to fish on a store side walk is unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Salty underground is amazing google kinda messed up there are no store hours it is not open to the public its for online orders the owners are completely nice and awesome!!
