🗣️ Schramm Education Center & Schramm Park State Recreation Area: Reviews
Fantastic experience: We take our granddaughters all the time we love the place, so.much to do.
Fantastic experience: This place is magical. We heard an owl and several other types of birds. We especially loved feeding the fish. The trails were muddy because of the melting snow, but we got around just fine.
Fantastic experience: Our first experience was when my toddler and I attended the Little Saplings program this summer. She loved the story, hike, and craft activity on the vertebrae topic. It was interactive and exploring Schramm was a bonus! Then, we had her 3 year old birthday party here and it was a blast! Her and her friends loved playing in the Schramm Center, walking on the trail, and making mudpies. The classroom was perfect for the party. I would highly recommend coming for the day or having a gathering here! Fun for all ages!
Fantastic experience: We visited for the first time today and we loved it! This education center has a great facility with something for everyone. We enjoyed the bird watching area and the wide variety of aquariums. I appreciate the interactive kiosks that detail all of the different fish. I think it’s great that they included so many ways for little kids to interact and enjoy this place. It’s a great place to visit!
Fantastic experience: The star attraction at Schramm is the Education Center, which is a treasure trove of information about the local aquatic ecosystem. The center's interactive exhibits and informative displays provide fascinating insights into the diverse wildlife that calls Nebraska home, with a particular focus on aquatic life. It's an excellent place for families, nature enthusiasts, and students to learn more about the environment in an engaging and entertaining way. The surrounding Schramm Park State Recreation Area complements the educational experience with its scenic beauty. The spring-fed pond is a serene and picturesque spot for fishing, boating, and wildlife observation. The well-maintained hiking trails offer the opportunity to explore the park's natural beauty and discover the rich biodiversity that thrives in the area.
Negative experience: Overpriced for sure and a poorly run event. We went this morning for an event that said "at the Schramm Education Center in the lobby." This was in fact, not in the lobby...but outside and it was 30 degrees. There was only one person running the event and it took way too long to get everyone through. We walked inside the door near the event and started walking around checking things out which was cool! We were approached to see if we had paid, which we didn't know we had to do. We were fine with paying but man was it overpriced for what was offered. It was $10 per person and $7 for kids and took us about 20 minutes to see everything. We stretched it to about 45 minutes because we wanted to get our money's worth. Very much let down on this entire situation.
Negative experience: It was ok. Way over priced for what was offered. It really should have been about half the price. There wasn’t really much to see once in the canter. Only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to go through it. It was kind of a letdown.
Positive experience: wildlife oriented indoor play areas for kids. many aquarium displays with iPad type info displays but you have to search for the correct fish to learn about. free walking trails nearby.
Fantastic experience: What a wonderful place to take your kids and grandkids! The whole place has a new look and there is so much to learn about Nebraska's wildlife. I used to take my grandkids parents here when they were kids!
Fantastic experience: Our first visual of the dramatic change of color on a few of the trees at Schram Park Education Center. Schram Park is located north of Hwy 31. It's a great environment that borders on the Platte River. There are ponds that attract geese, cranes various fish. Walking trails and more, along with the Education Center. We spotted these gorgeous trees, some of the first of my favorite Autumn season. This is a good place to visit if you enjoy the outdoors. HAPPY AUTUMN,,
Fantastic experience: Fun for the whole family
Fantastic experience: Nice exhibits, but small. Nice collection of fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Great bird watching and fish ponds. Very up to date and friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: This was our frist time here since they remodeled. This place isn't super well known and therefore never really crowded. However the hands on experiences are amazing. Its so much fun. Entertaining for all ages and so educational. We will be returning in the near future!
Fantastic experience: Great way to spend a cold January afternoon! Yes, you have to pay to get in, but it's worth it! So many things to see and even more things for kids to do, from pretend camping, sand box to crafts...you can tell it's been recently renovated. Our favorite was the bee hive; you could even hear them buzzing:) Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: It was awesome, my two Grandkids loved it. We spent over 2 hours there. Would highly recommend taking your kids there.
Positive experience: Not much there at this time
Fantastic experience: Visited the educational center and aquarium before spending the afternoon hiking in the beautiful woods. What a great way to spend the day together with family. If you've never been here, it's definitely worth going. We will come again.
Fantastic experience: We were too busy to take pictures, so much to see and we arrived just in time to feed the turtles, Ham and Cheese! My son especially loved all the native fish in the aquariums, since he loves to fish...next time we will take a day to explore the rest of the park!
Fantastic experience: a great place to spend the afternoon with your kid(s)
Positive experience: Like to hike up the trails and check out the fish in the aquariums and in the hatchery's
We love our trails! Make sure to stop again in the fall to witness the spectacular color show of nature!
Positive experience: Little pricey. Everything else was great. My son loved the camping play area. Great rainy day stop though.
So glad you enjoyed your visit! Although the aquarium used to be free, we feel our pricing reflect the drastic change and renovations in our center. We do offer family passes at $100 per family for unlimited visits in a calendar year if you do want to visit again!
Positive experience: The place has been remodeled and looks nice. But they used to have a lot bigger fish in the aquariums.
We were sad to see our catfish go, but we do have the state record Common Carp (35 pounds) and world record Snapping Turtle! (90 pounds)
Positive experience: You know even tho I feel it’s overpriced, (10$ a adult) I still feel good about it. it is definitely a one time event till they lower the price but you should go check it out and do some arts n crafts with kids, point out the different frogs snakes n fish they have (please press like button below)

Fantastic experience: Just reopened. Great atmosphere and staff.
Fantastic experience: Such a fun place for kids and adults alike! Lots of animals to see and activities for the kids.
Negative experience: Since update the prices have skyrocketed!!! Don’t go $34 for a family of 4 !! Safari park is less with more to do. In and out in 15 minutes looks a lot nicer but save your money!!!

Fantastic experience: Bueatiful remodel. Great place to learn about oir great state. Grand Opening is May 18th with free admission all day. Lots of digital interactive displays. The vitural bike rides thru Platte River Park's nature trails is a must try. Hours are 9 am to 5 pm. May 18th is also free park entry day at all state Parks and Rec Areas. Positive experience: Under remodel while I was there, but it's gonna be nice.
Fantastic experience: Always fun to go and see this fish, It's a quiet wholesome place with lovely set ups and tanks
Fantastic experience: Awesome little aquarium. Take your family here!
Negative experience: Tried stopping here on our way through. Closed for renovations until sometime in 2018 apparently. I checked the website for open hours and such before we came and there was no info staying it was closed. Frustrating to go off the beaten path for nothing.
Fantastic experience: Just went out there today. Their children's animal education classroom is excellent and has plenty to explore. My young son had a blast. Great way to introduce kids to Nebraska wildlife.
Positive experience: Decent. Off the beaten path. Probably not worth a special trip but throw it on the agenda if you are coming back from the SAC museum.
Fantastic experience: We love this place. The kids get hands on experiences and a great way to know more about our native wildlife
Positive experience: This was an interesting place to visit and learn about the native Nebraska animals. My 5yo loved being able to touch the different animal pelts and see all the different animals and fish.
