Fantastic experience: Great aquarium and exhibits. Free and kids really liked the touch tank and the tall aquarium with eels and giant sea stars. Just north of Bay View State Park.

Fantastic experience: Free! (We gave a nice donation) Awesome experience for the kids to see aquatic life close up and touch also. We were happy to learn that there is a beach access where the kids can get down and dirty, literally. Highly recommend for hands on fun (bring a change of clothes and shoes!)

Fantastic experience: This little aquarium and research center is doing such great work! Worth a visit at least a few times a year to learn what's on the up and up, and to see what's new! Show some support via their donation bin by the door, or book a class with their amazing education staff! Images: Mottled star ray with tube feet and Green urchin, Mottled star with Red and Purple urchin, and Rubescent octopus with Vancouver feather duster worm and Vermillion star! Be sure to check if they have Grunt sculpins, Wolf eels and Painted greenling!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing center. Free or by donation and they deserve the donations. Very educational experience. We are from Ontario and found this spot on our journey through the states. There’s a lot of love poured into this place. Their kid room was all hand made activities that were super engaging and inspiring. I’d highly recommend visiting.

Fantastic experience: Stopped by while staying at Bayview State Park and it was a lot of fun. I was told by the wonderful fellow manning the touch-tanks that Saturday was the exciting day and it did not disappoint. We got to see them feed the Wolf Eels and Hank the octopus came out of his beer bottle home and gave us a wonderful display of his color changing abilities. There were starfish, urchin and anemones to touch and displays that were entertaining enough, the kids didn't even realize they were learning something. A must see if you're in the area.

Fantastic experience: Made a quick stop at the Padilla Bay Center and had a great learning experience. If have some 30 minutes to spare and want to learn learn about estuary of the PNW and the different species that inhabit, I would recommend this spot.

Fantastic experience: This is a beautiful area to take a little Trek from the center, go on the trail that leads under the roadway to a neat spiral staircase to the beach. When the center reopens it's an awesome place to visit for all family members and all ages. Great displays and very informative regarding the local estuary and surrounds. Be sure to walk or bike along the trail that hugs the bay. Bring your puppers, too! Don't forget to head a few minutes south of here and stop at Snow Goose Produce to get an immodest ice cream cone on a homemade waffle cone and then browse through all the local goods from Washington and Oregon.

Fantastic experience: I love everything about this place. I wish we -- I wish the world -- had more of these kinds of places. Bring tactile learners here. Bring budding ecologists. Bring animal lovers. Bring kids. Bring a partner. Come see this place for yourself, and bring someone, anyone -- and help keep this place around for future generations to enjoy the way we are blessed to be able to. Thanks for having me.
