🗣️ Cabrillo High School Aquarium: Reviews
Fantastic experience: They have a great aquarium, and a excellent Esports team!
Fantastic experience: Awesome my son graduated Carillo high school
Fantastic experience: The staff and students do an amazing job. We love going to the open house every month.
Fantastic experience: Great aquarium experience! Hard to believe that it's a high school program. Very professional with great exhibits.
Fantastic experience: Chaperoned a weekday morning tour for school-age kids. The teenagers that attend Cabrillo high run the aquarium and the tours. They were very knowledgeable and expertly managed nearly 50 kids that were divided into 4 groups. The tour starts in the theatre and then the groups work through the zones in different paths.
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience for the kids and myself! Wonderful touch tanks, many exhibits, relics and historic information. What an education? High School students staff the Aquarium. This is a great program!
Fantastic experience: They have an "open house" for a few hours on one night every month or so - it's free, donations welcome! They've got a ton of underwater creatures and you can tell the students care deeply about them. Keep an eye on their social media for the next open evening, it's worth the visit! (This picture is from the Halloween open house, so that's why the elephant seal is dressed up as a vampire, haha!)
Fantastic experience: What a wonderful aquarium! This was an open house event I attended staffed by the students and teachers of Cabrillo High School. They must be teaching many valuable skills because the students were helpful (and happy!) to share about the fish and sea creatures. There is a wave tank and many other cool features!
Fantastic experience: Pretty cool place. My kids loved it. The students that worked the event, were pretty knowledgeable.
Fantastic experience: I love going and visiting this place! Its incredible to see high school kids running such a successful program that gets the entire community involved!
Fantastic experience: Greg Eison and his students are the best, we all had a great time. I suggest you bring the whole family.
Fantastic experience: A real Aquarium an impressive accomplishment for a public high school.
Fantastic experience: This is a great place to visit. I take my preschool class each year and I love and reccomend it. The high school students do a fantastic job with the little ones. What a great elective for the students!
Positive experience: New displays of sea creatures and equipment. Didn't seem there were that many sea creatures as years in past. The night we went it was senior projects so many students were there to answer questions. Overall though it was Kool. Touchable sea creatures and they had new flat fish that were the color of the sand. Great kids kind educated.
Fantastic experience: Great place to take the family. The kids do a fantastic job in explaining everything. Especially to the little ones. Love that it's open for grade school students to have a field trip.
Positive experience: It is one of a kind, the only aquarium that I know of that is in an actual highs school. It was amazing and I had a good time. the students that were running the aquarium were polite, enthusiastic, and quite knowledgeable on the marine life exhibited. They had some smaller sharks, eels, rays, holothuroidea (sea cucumbers), asteroidea (starfish), ctenophores (jellies), and huge anemones and various fish species. It is small but they did have a good amount of biodiversity. I highly encourage you to go and if you have a family, bring them along for a cool sea adventure. They even have a gift shop.
Fantastic experience: Thank you for such an amazing visit! I was a member of the Aquarium Club from 1991-1995, and I am so incredibly amazed at what it has become today!! Such a great way to spend the day with kids. An amazing learning experience and great source of pride for the local community! Loved showing my family!! Thank you!
