Negative experience: Everytime i go in here and I get fish they’re always sick with fin rot and all his animals always look sick.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly owners. Eager to help and had a large variety of fish. Placed or order for more fish and excited to get them on Wednesday!

Fantastic experience: We gave the a creature from the ocean. They were in a shel. Didn't know they were in it And they survived 4 days and we took them in and they kept them they came out of their shel and looked so happy. Thank you for saving them for us us . deep your awesome ❤️ ❣️

Fantastic experience: Everything you could want from your LFS. When they didn't have the feeder product I came in for, the owner just gave me some of a similar product and didn't even charge me for it. He even threw in a couple of bonus snails! They can order you what you want if they don't already have it in stock. Awesome people, a great place to go for all of your aquatic needs.

Fantastic experience: If you are serious about fish this is the place. The owners encyclopedic knowledge of both salt water, coral and tropical fish is only matched by his passion for the hobby.

Fantastic experience: Great selection of saltwater fish corals and products! And a huge selection of freshwater fish crabs shrimp and feeders. Owners are very knowledgeable and helpful. Always exceptional customer service.

Fantastic experience: If you're starting a new fish tank, I highly recommend going to see Mike. He is by far the most knowledgeable I've met in the business. Don't deal with the big box stores. He's also priced very well. Well worth the visit.

Positive experience: Great place to get your fish! Decent prices and the fish are usually healthy! Sometimes when they're busy it does take awhile to get your fish but otherwise I have no complaints. Also the owner will order fish/aquarium items for you so that's a plus.

Negative experience: Decent selection of fish, everyone working there has been really nice to me. Now here's the BUT..... The fish at the store are NOT taken care of how they should be. Every time I have gone in there (about 4 times now in the past 4 months) there's at least one dead fish in almost every single freshwater tank. This is unacceptable to me. Also, a third of ALL the fish I have purchased here have died within about 3 days of bringing them home. I will absolutely not be returning here unless major changes are made by the owner! Oh and one more thing, I bought plants from here one time, they swore up and down there were no pest snails, but now my tank has at least a hundred pest snails. I had not purchased any fish or live plants about 2 months prior to they plants I bought here, so it couldn't have been anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: The Deep is the absolute definition of a friendly LFS (Local Fish Store) - Staff - • Mike is extremely knowledgeable in fresh and marine aquatics! • We brought in pictures of some freshwater shrimp I bought from one of the big box stores (bigbox claimed they were Amanos, that was a lie) and Mike was able to identify them for me. • Mike willingly took in all the extra fry we collected and gave them a home. - Store - The Deep is closer to a "mom & pops" type establishment, it wouldn't win any design awards, but it has an excellent selection of the following: • Saltwater Fish • Freshwater Fish • Aquatic Plants and Coral • Specialty tanks • Driftwood, Rocks and Other decorations (Way better than anything the big box stores offer) Aquarium stores are relatively rare in Redding, I would check out The Deep first for your hobby before going to the big brand locations.

They won't try to sell you stuff you don't need and will always recommend the best item for you even if they don't sell it there. Some people complain about how long it takes them to help another customer but it's because they actually take the time to explain and answer questions. We don't go anywhere else now.

Fantastic experience: I love this store. Mike and his wife are always helpful and informative. They usually get new fish weekly and have great selection of fish and parts for saltwater and freshwater aquariums. I would highly recommend this store for newer and veteran aquarists.

Positive experience: The place is small but has a good selection of fish. The fish look healthy and the price is fair. The staff is friendly but nobody wears a mask in the store, so if someone has a Covid there, cross your fingers.

Fantastic experience: During this time the store was very busy. Both owners were attending all customers while multi-tasking. They both try to give all customers their undivided attention. As Mike was passing through to help another customer he had asked me if I had fixed my aquarium stand. And offered his advice. Conversation took approximately 1 minute while Mike was grabbing a bag for this customers fish. Also their customer service is some of the best around. Not only are they very attentive to all customers but they take the time to offer advise as well!

Fantastic experience: I'm in The Deep on a weekly basis. I won't go to any other stores in town. I've dealt with the rest, now I go to the best. If Mike doesn't have something you want in store, just ask and he can usually get it for you. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

Very knowledgeable and willing to help with any questions you may have about saltwater or freshwater aquariums. Mike takes time for each customer to make sure you know everything you need to be successful!

Negative experience: Spend thousands of dollars there and second time in a row it takes 15 minutes to get fish, the owner has zero customer relationship skills. They just lost about a thousand a year from me

Positive experience: The Deep had a decent selection of fish, I noticed some of the saltwater tanks had red algae, which you wouldn't ever want in your tank (speaking from experience it's not easy to get rid of) and their hours or not very friendly. I'm sure the staff is knowledgeable and they are friendly.

Fantastic experience: I entered the saltwater hobby about a year ago. I have been to all the stores around Redding and The Deep is in a class of its own. Mike is really well informed and will go out of his way to help you and more importantly your tank. If your a reef junkie or looking to get into the hobby, this is the place you need to go.

Fantastic experience: I had been looking all over town for a couple of oscars, tiger and albino tiger and no luck. I spoke to Mike about getting a couple. He ordered them for me and his supplier picked a couple of perfect ones for him. They are beautiful and healthy looking. Mike was very helpful and takes great pride in his tanks and stock. All his tanks are clean and his fish all look happy and healthy. He got me exactly what i wanted!

Fantastic experience: I usually don't write reviews, but I'm impressed! I came in first to inquire starting a new reef tank. I was completely new and inexperienced. I'm sure I even asked some dumb questions. Without hesitation or annoyance the owner, Mike i think, answered clearly all of them. I'm pretty sure we talked for a half hour or so and I walked out only spending 12$ and gaining a ton of knowledge. I am a business owner and I know that the owners care about the products they are selling and the fish they are caring for. They care about the success of their customers. I'm still only in the first week of starting and already hooked! My tank is lovely and extremely enjoyable. I wont spend a dollar anywhere else but here.

Fantastic experience: When I first went to The Deep I was setting up my first planted tank, 6 months later I've got fish, frogs and a lush little environment for them to live in. They were instrumental to the success of my tank. The owner and staff are very helpful and gave me the advice, and got me equipment I needed for my aquarium. Easily the best fresh and saltwater fish place in town.
