Fantastic experience: Healthy exotic freshwater and saltwater fish at good prices, knowledgeable staff who are willing to help new and seasoned aquarists, and awesome fish! I highly recommend giving Tank Smart a visit I think you'll love it. Forget about Tanks A Lot and the mixed reviews it brought. Tank Smart brings a new level of aquarium shop with a focus on customer service and being there for every aquarists need and want! :)

Negative experience: Can’t be trusted!! Initially I really liked this place and was dedicated to getting everything I needed for my saltwater tank here but after this experience I’ll have to find another primary store and they’ll just be my secondary for water and food but as far as fish I no longer trust them because the fish I wanted seemed less lively than the others he shared a tank with and was just at the bottom of the tank stationary hardly any movement I pointed this out and asked was he ok the guy assisting me reached his hand in towards the bottom of tank and the fish swam to avoid being touched and he said yea he’s fine he was just chilling so I said ok I’ll take him and another fish the fish died within an hour of me having him I took a photo which shows the time and if you compare it to the receipt I didn’t own this fish for an hour before he died I came with my evidence lol explained what happen to the associate (a different guy than who sold me the fish) he listened and just told me there’s no guarantee on livestock I said I understand but considering you guys tested my water before I purchased the fish and told me the water was fine the other fish I bought at the same time is still alive and thriving and I have evidence that I didn’t own the fish but 49 minutes before he died I’d think I could get some type of credit even if it’s only half of what the fish was worth I’d appreciate it and I also said if the fish lived even 1 day I probably wouldnt feel so entitled but he didn’t live not even an hour after purchase so there has to be some way we can meet in the middle but nope he held stern so here I am writing this longazz review smh and they feel their practices are valid because it’s in writing that there are no guarantees on livestock lol ridiculous

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to a couple stores just started out a couple months ago with live fish and coral went to this place. It is definitely the cleanest and prices are more than fair and the staff, including Frankiee and. Aaron are very knowledgeable help me out with a lot of things. I would definitely recommend this store over any other local ones.

Negative experience: I don't get it. This place is always closed. How is a retail store closed 2 days out of the week and one day is on a weekend? I've tried 4 times to come here....I give up. Stupid hours

Fantastic experience: Moved to Boynton beach from Boca and hated it, until I found tank smart aquarium store. Being an avid reef aquarium hobbyist this store has made me look at BB in a much more positiv. Ed, Jeff and Frankie are as knowledgeable about reef tanks only to be exceeded by their friendly and helpfull customer service. If they don’t have something they will have it within a week. Coral section is second to none. Fish selection both saltwater and Freshwater selection are great. My days of internet ordering are over. Thank you Tanksmart for solving g my go to aquarium store problem! Boca is in the rearview mirror. 5 stars plus!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I came to Tank Smart on Lantana Road. The store is excellent. I drive 25 minutes just to get here. They have a variety like you wouldn’t believe of tropical fish, saltwater fish freshwater fish, as well as coral. All my fish survived when I bring them home it’s a great store. Ask for Ed he’s great, he always helps me answer any questions I have. Come to Tank Smart.

Negative experience: Ridiculously over priced. Not only that I called this place for a pistol shrimp the guy said two were in stock but that they carry two different species. The one they had in stock I asked what was the price on them and the guy said it was between 21 and 22 dollars. When I showed up the price was 50 dollars in the store. I asked if they can do anything with the price since I was given the wrong information, you know just to give me 5 to 10% off. And they didn’t even want to do that just told me the price was listed as 50 and that’s all they can do. Literally felt lied to. Not only that I drove all the way here from east boca. Left with the shrimp anyway because I did not drive all the way there for nothing he’s been doing great. But highly disappointed with the customer service and lack of knowledge in this place and well over priced for coral and rock anemone’s and just over all everything. Explains why there was only 1 other customer in the store. Will definitely be taking my business to there competition, blue earth aquarium, where prices are so much better and customer service is tip top.

Fantastic experience: The customer service here is exceptional from the second you walk in until you leave. All employees are very educated and helpful with saltwater as well as fresh water. They have a great product selection and a good inventory of different fish species! Definitely pay them a visit!!!

He is SUPER knowledgeable and is educated in all aspects of your fish needs and tanks. I never go anywhere else since going here. Stop wasting your money at places that don't care about their fish. Negative experience: Unsure of where everyone else's reviews are coming from. Store was opened on 5/17/2022. Staff and construction crew all staring at me as I was looking around at a bunch of empty tanks. Totally an awkward experience.

Negative experience: Horrible! We came here a few months ago and we bought really expensive fish and we loved them! But the next day ALL OF THEM DIED!!!!!! so “Tanks for nothing!!!” And the fish we got at our local Petco that were super healthy too DIED becase the bad fish from this place gave our good fish a bad illness that spread very quickly so please beware this places fish may be bad!

Negative experience: Place looks like it’s going out of business. Lots of tanks are empty. Very slim selection of fish. Also saw lots of fresh water fish that were sick. Sunken belly, bacterial infections, and even one South American Cichlid that was badly beat up by its tank mates yet he was not moved to a hospital tank to recover. Sad, very sad place. First time here. Will likely never come back.

Positive experience: Great staff honest...unfortunately this store is on the verge of closing. Most of saltwater tanks have turned to fresh water. Very minimal coral selection. And supplies are down to bare minimum if that. The owner seems to have just given up on an awesome place. I was a customer for years and unfortunately will have to go elsewhere because they never have anything anymore. Pity. At one time it was one of the greats. I hope someone turns this place around soon

Fantastic experience: The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I wish the owner would keep a better stock of salt water animals though... quite scarce. Fish foods, water (synthetic and RO) and fresh water fish are what I normally get from here now.

Negative experience: I DO NOT RECOMMEND! This is Bull this is not the first time I show up and the sign says that they close at a certain time and I show up and they are already closed. Mail box is always full I’ve been coming here for two years but I’m just going to take my business else where. They never have any stock in salt water fish anyways.

Negative experience: This shop looks like it has not been restocked in over a month. They did not have a single coral that had color. Everything in the tanks were brown. When we walked in, the lady at the counter did not acknowledge us, and did not say a word when we left. Not once did they ask if we needed help or anything. I will not be coming back.

Positive experience: I've been getting RO & Synth from here lately and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Where the store lacks is in having a good inventory of fish and corals.

Negative experience: This place has tremendous potential. Tanks Alot has a tremendous amount of aquariums. I may have gone on a bad day but the inventory was pathetic. The Tanks that did have fish in them were not appealing at all. The layout and number of aquariums in this store could easily be the premier aquarium location in Palm Beach County. Seems like they are set up to win. Hope it gets better.

Positive experience: Small place but has lots of different fish,salt&fresh. They had some sea life I would never expect to see there. Much better array than most places I've been to,exotic stuff there. Live rock,sand,filters,pre mixed saltwater,macro algae,chemicals as well. Lots of tanks for sale also.

Negative experience: They were once a great little reef shop... I dunno what happened. Update: The quality and selection of their corals and frags has further declined, and they've introduced fresh water fish... You're better off going to Coral Blue Aquariums right down the road, or Atlantic Blue Aquariums in Lake Park.

Negative experience: I'm a business owner, DO NOT BUY HIGH PRICE ITEMS in this place, they are very nice people but their return policy is REALLY BAD, and they do not stock 2 items of same kind. Just bought a defective 1200 GPH water pump yesterday 9/15/18 for my reef aquarium, they will not take it back, they told me I have to deal straight with manufacturer which takes like a week and mean while what happens to my fish really bad customer service.

Negative experience: Prices are VERY expensive. However they are a large shop that most likely have a part that you may need in a pinch but you definItely pay a premium. Also look over corals very carefully and as I was taught many many moons ago, if you see a piece of coral that your interested in pick it up and give it a good smell. If it stinks then your in for a disappointment and 90% chance its going to die and the longer you keep it in your tank you can watch your nitrates rise and other corals will not open. Just be careful.

Fantastic experience: We have been using Tanks A Lot for about 5 years now. We always love comming in here to shop for new Salt Water fish, corals and cleaning crew for our tank. If there is ever a product that is out of stock, the staff has an immediate recommendation for something that will suffice. We are always greeted with a smile and have always been treated like our business is important even when we don't buy anything. I highly recommend this store for all your salt water fish tank needs.

Negative experience: The staff is great except for the manager Matt. Nice guy but sneaky. I bought a light for $400 after being told I could exchange it or bring it back if it didn't live up to my expectations. It didn't and ordered a new light from Matt. He told me it would be in the store in 2 days. 2 weeks later it came in after numerous messages left for him were never returned He then wanted to hit me with a 15% fee which I argued over. He agreed. Then wanted to charge me $539 for the light when it retails everywhere else for $509. Matt quoted me $500 when I placed the order. But when I went to pay I was told I had to pay full price since I was returning the other light. He lost a loyal customer that spends a lot of money in there every week. Never again will I walk in there. Thanks a lot tanks a lot!

Positive experience: Good selection on corals. Pending on the day can have 5-150 fish. Very pricey, especially on any type of equipment. I would suggest buying online if time permits. Fun place for the kids to wall around.

Negative experience: The customer service is not up to par. It was so bad that they absolutely never contacted me back with a quote for a newly built tank. It gets better, I had to go directly to their manufacture to get the tank I wanted after waiting so long for this store to call me back. They seem to never respond or give out quotes in a timely manner. Guess you can say I cut out the middle man. When im doubt just go directly to the manufacture.

Negative experience: Picked out a few saltwater fish first they gave the wrong price on one. they corrected after sale gave me cash instead of returning it back to the card. The kicker is they forgot to put the fish with price problem back in my bag. So I went home and had to drive 45 mins back to get my fish. Horrible customer service. Never again tanks alot.

Fantastic experience: I love Tanks A Lot on Lantana Rd. My husband and I used to go to Barrier Reef down in Boca for our salt water tank needs but when we moved up to the Boynton area we found Tanks A Lot which is closer. Their salt and RO water is much more healthy than the water at Barrier Reef and its less expensive. When we were getting water at Barrier Reef within days our tank would look mucky and the algae would grow quickly. The water from Tanks is very clear, not mucky at all and it takes several weeks for the tanks to show any visible signs of algae growth. Also the guys that work there are very nice and professional especially considering that most of them are young. I really enjoy shopping here I can't wait until they fully stock their store.
