Fantastic experience: Bought my betta from The Fish Cave a couple months ago. He’s been really healthy and his colors came in so vividly. 1st picture with the snail was when we first got him VS now. His temperament is also very calm, doesn’t eat the snails or go after the corys in the tank. Could cohabitate with shrimp if we wanted to. Would go back for my next fish

Fantastic experience: Fish Cave is a fish store for hobbyists, owned by a hobbyist. The quality of livestock is impeccable. There is an amazing selection, given the size of the store. The guppies are above and beyond what you can find in any other shop in the state - he's even been the first to import a strain to the US. Although this may not be important to some (but any experienced hobbyist will appreciate), he runs all of his tanks individually, preventing disease or parasites from transferring from tank to tank - this involves significantly more labor than using a system where tanks are connected, but results in much lower incidence of unhealthy fish. Fish Cave also supports the Milwaukee Aquarium Society, a local group of hobbyists.

Fantastic experience: I LOVE this store. Everything about it, the prices, the fish quality, the tank cleanliness. I feel like it’s hard to find a good fish store that puts a visible effort in ensuring the health and safety of the fish. I’m glad I know I’m not only buying from a small family business but it’s ethical, the family puts passion such passion into the fish care.

Negative experience: I have never been to an LFS with so many sick looking and dead fish. The first time I went I thought maybe they had gotten a bad stock or an outbreak of something. I have now been to this store probably 6 times over the past year each time hoping that something will change and it has not. The only truly healthy fish in the store are the guppies. The bettas are always so sad looking it breaks my heart and all the other fish do not seem in great health. I really want to love this place because the staff are so kind but I don’t believe they properly care for their animals

Fantastic experience: Great place to find some awesome fish! The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The tanks are some of the cleanest and we'll maintained tanks of any shop I've ever seen. The variety of fish is amazing. I will definitely keep going back!

Fantastic experience: They have a great selection of some fish you absolutely won't find anywhere else in the city. Prices don't seem too bad either. If you've got a request for a specific breed of fish this is the place to go. The store does feel quite cramped but they use the available space well, filling just about every usable spot with something that can be purchased. The parking lot is less than desirable in the winter time, can't really fault them for that though, it's just a very odd shaped mini plaza.

Fantastic experience: Workers were very nice when i visited. They have a good selection to choose from that you won't find at most places. If you want something special or unique, this would be the place to get it. The animals and tanks looked healthy and clean. If you want something common, they're a little too expensive, though, in my opinion. But if you're coming here, it's probably for something special and not fish for a child's first aquarium.

Negative experience: Tried to go at 1:45 on a Sunday, but the store was closed. No sign or note about them being closed. Drove an hour up on a recommendation from another customer.

Fantastic experience: Small shop with lots of freshwater selections. Drove over an hour for shrimp ended up leaving with fish and a great deal on shrimp. Keeps providing great deals that’s why I make the long trip…keep at it brother!

Fantastic experience: We bought 5 Guppies (3f &2m) from fish cave LLC and the best decision ever. Their customer service is on top of the game. Their response was quick and the delivery was QUICK! Fantastic experience: Fantastic store with a wonderful selection and great prices. I am an out of towner visiting Wisconsin from Vermont. So I couldn't buy any fish and take them home but I spent time at each aquarium. There were quite a few and a variety of tank sizes. I breed cichlids and have been wanting to get into discus for years and there were more than 5 strains of discus there and probably over 50 discus specimens that all looked very healthy. These are a harder fish to keep so this is another great sign this is a well run store. If you are nearby and interested in getting into fish or adding to an existing tank, stop by!!!

Fantastic experience: We live close by and our Betta tank was getting quickly covered in brown algae. I stopped in to ask what could be causing this, and the owner was super helpful, letting me know the tank needed to be out of direct sunlight and suggested adding snails to the tank. He showed me several different species of snails and explained the pros and cons of each. I bought two of the recommended type and our tank got completely clean in a week! Definitely recommend for any aquarium needs or even just questions.

Fantastic experience: Even though its a small store it has some of the best quality fish that I have seen in Wisconsin. There are also many exotic fish that you would not normally see in aquatic shops so I was very intrigued. I think some people may think the price point is high, but for the quality of the fish I think it's worth it. I bought three beautiful guppies today and they are not what you would be able to find in your local petco or petsmart. They have such a variety, I highly recommend checking them out.

All fish are very well kept and healthy, water was clear in every single tank and yet again something you don't see in your average pet store. Fantastic experience: If you are someone who enjoys having fish and keeping fish then you should go to the fish cave. Prices may be a little higher but it's worth it. The fish are healthy and well taken care of. It is obvious to me the fish cave cares about the fish and the customer. Knowledgeable and friendly they will answer any questions and make you feel like your business is appreciated. Well worth the 90 minute drive for me. Wide variety of amazing and healthy fish. 10/10

Negative experience: cool shop and nice fish, but id say it's a place for high rollers as a majority of thier stock is priced a bit high. $55 a pair on guppies is entry to mid tier show quality pricing. $85 discus at $250. 2 stars for presentation and general fish health. but I can't say I'll be back again to purchase.

Fantastic experience: All the tanks are kept very clean and never have I seen a dead fish in their tanks. They have an expansive selection of your common and more exotic freshwater fish. If you're in search of an axolotl, or freshwater puffer fish, this is the place to go.

Negative experience: I only get the feeder guppies, and small things. And, every time I pay a little more and get less.. Some fish died within bringing home. The shrimp look unhealthy and so did my snail that died- after more than appropriate acclimation. Good luck to the store, I regretfully say I hesitate coming back.

Fantastic experience: Stumbled across this place randomly and very impressed with what I saw. The owner is clearly passionate about the hobby, and seems to give all the exotic creators the attention they deserve. Especially in this hobby, it's important to support local businesses that put in the effort and care that the big boxes just can't. Better for the hobby, and better for the fish you buy. :-)

Owner took the time to answer questions we had, matched us with fish based off fish we had and really knew what we needed to help us! I would recommend this place to anyone! Fantastic experience: Clean store, great assortment of fishes, reasonable prices.

Fantastic experience: I came here for some red cherry shrimp and blue diamond shrimp. They were the healthiest/happiest looking shrimp I have seen in the fox valley! The store owner is very helpful and the store itself is very clean with a pretty impressive setup. Here are some pictures of my new buddies.

I recently have ventured to the fish cave to see the what they had and there was large selection for being a smaller store. tanks looked really clean. I purchased a black ghost knife when I was there and it was on the bigger side for 19.99. I will be returning here the next time I need a new fish friend

Fantastic experience: My family visited this shop yesterday evening and I was extremely impressed. The shop is super tidy and clean. The fish are so beautiful and lively. The tanks are very well maintained. And most importantly Tone (not exactly sure of the spelling) is such a great shop owner. He is very informative and thorough. He is helpful and friendly. He knows SO MUCH about his fish and the upkeep of the tanks. I love that you can see his love for all of his tanks and the unique collection of creatures who occupy them. Overall I would recommend anyone and everyone to visit this shop over petco, persmart, etc. His shop is fishy heaven compared to those places. If I'm not mistaken, he sells tanks, but other than the fish and the very few tanks he has for sale, He doesn't have tank decor, or filters and such. They might be available upon request but I did not see those items on the sales floor. That was a very long review but I really wanted to spread the word about the Fish Cave because I believe he deserves recognition and business for doing such a good job as a shop keeper and his natural ability to connect and inform his customers. PLEASE VISIT THE FISH CAVE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!
