🗣️ Reef Lounge USA: Reviews
Positive experience: There are more tanks than fish. We happened to see it driving by and thought we'd pop in. I can't say much about it because there wasn't much to it.
Fantastic experience: Jimmy is great and always has a snack for us when we visit.
Negative experience: BEWARE OF BUYING TORCH CORALS!!! I had a weird experience ordering from Reef Lounge. I looked on their website and was interested in buying a holy grail torch, so I saw this highlighter. Holy Grail torch, but it was not WYSIWYG. When I received the order, the holy grail didn’t look very yellow to me. it was extremely neon green in color, but I did not see any yellow in it. I was a little disappointed because based on the picture I was expecting more yellow, the neon green I called the phone number on the website on Tuesday and the man was nice but he said this is the retail phone number and to email them so I waited two days and no response so I figured to try and call him again. He told me to email them and they should respond within an hour, I let them know that I emailed on Tuesday and receive no response, so he said he’s going to the store and will tell his employees to check the email I received response about an hour later saying they are sorry that I did not receive what I was expecting and they will credit me $150 store credit but I really wanted the holy Grail torch, coral that is yellow. I wanted it to be the main piece in my tank, but they replied that they keep their holy Grail’s with blue lights and blast them with 200 par lighting . However, I sent them pictures. I found on their website when I searched up all the HOLY GRAILS and saw these two different pictures. I emailed them the pictures and said I was expecting this one. But it looks like I received this. I tried to search Holy Grails on their website again for the same WYSIWYG items but they must have deleted it from their website because it was gone. but I have the pictures… please tell me I am not crazy and one is neon green, and the other is yellow, but listed as the same “highlighter holy grail torch” After that, they ask to email them a picture of the Coral under blue lights and I sent that to them. That’s when I was left on read again. Super weird experience I had with the store I went against better judgment because I saw horrible reviews on reef2reef but saw they had OK reviews on Google. I guess people have better experiences when they visit the store but I can tell you from personal experience BEWARE WHEN BUYING TORCH CORALS. Owner: 8/10 Service: 1/10 Buying a highlighter holy grail torch: you will get a neon green torch that looks like a cotton candy or Todd’s torch
Negative experience: This place is always empty for a good reason. I always wondered how they stayed in business, until I asked how much the corals were. Overpriced and basic, hopefully if you’re new, you don’t get suckered into buying expensive corals. I rather go to reef factory or drive far away for better quality and cheaper prices.
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here, love the way Kenny show me how to build up the tank and how to change water also Amy is really friendly and cool, def will come back in the future.
Fantastic experience: Huge selection of corals and invertebrates. The worker there was very nice and answered all of my questions.
Fantastic experience: Recommend this place for all saltwater aquarium needs Asian gentleman was very pleasant and sweet and made us feel very welcomed they have a variety of corals with decent prices. We picked up a nice healthy Goni and healthy red linckia for our 30 gal saltwater reef tank
Fantastic experience: The owner Kenny is great. He has always offered great advice to help my reef system thrive. He is also extremely fair on his pricing and is overall, a friendly and knowledgeable reefer.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic service, amazing coral colonies and decent prices, already had 3 orders with them and they delivered what is advertised,no photobomb or anything like that. These guys have my respect and loyalty as a customer.
Positive experience: Good quality fish and good customer service, mainly focused on corals
Fantastic experience: They are friendly and helpful. Helped me out in a pinch when I needed a product asap. They stock some of the most popular reef products and they even have a mini fridge with soda and water for customers! 10 out of 10 would recommend
Fantastic experience: Fantastic customer service. Great assortment of fish. The place is clean and the owner answered all my questions. He's a ball of knowledge. I found my new reef store.
Fantastic experience: First time customer from Hollywood Florida, I order 4 blastos and 4 torches, using the promo they have right now online, they came out at a very good price, shipping and package was great, corals came in a small plastic cup to hold them upright and in place, inside a double bag. Corals looked great after acclimation, they have been in my tank for a about a week now, no issues whatsoever, pieces were WYSIWYG, will buy again from them for sure.
Fantastic experience: The most beautiful collection of marine species. The tanks are pristine and the owner (Kenny) is very knowledgeable and friendly. Their prices are also more reasonable than other local aquatic shops. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite fish stores in the area. It is the cleanest store I’ve been to. The fish are well taken care of, the tank is immaculate. I have been buying my fish here for about 3 years. Kenny is knowledgeable and truly cares about taking care of fish. He is very patient and friendly.
Fantastic experience: Love it for its waves of options, tanks and selections.
Positive experience: Good place, animals seems to be well care for. Bought a Trachy Coral from them a couple of months ago and happy with it. Unfortunately, they don't always have in stock what is shown on website. They asked me to go to Norco for more corals. I didn't want to drive further.
Positive experience: Good shop with a heavy emphasis on corals that range from common to very high end, and they have a decent selection of fish as well. Only reason I don't have them at 5 stars (wish I could do 4.5) is they're sometimes understaffed to the point I've left a couple times without buying what I wanted because it was going to take too long to get helped. Overall great shop though.
Positive experience: Friendly staff, knowledgeable about salt water fish and reefing. They ask you questions about your setup to get the best for you.
Fantastic experience: If you need coral, or maybe even an anemones, this is the place to go. Also they have an adorable stingray.
Fantastic experience: Love the selection and quality of fish and reef. Best fish and supplies store in Orange County, the second best is the Reef Lounge in Norco that is currently in progress. Come check it out if you haven't already!!!
Negative experience: Do not order on line! They took my money and never filled my order. I ordered some corals on their web site that it showed as being in stock and my credit card was charged. it is now two weeks later and they never shipped my order. I tried to call many times to check the status of my order and only once did they even answer the phone. They took my order number and said they would email me. The only email I got was an automated message asking if I enjoyed my purchase and offering a discount on my next purchase. No word on my order. I have tried to call them daily for the last week and they have never answer the phone. There is no voice mail. I used the "contact us" to leave them a message asking about my order, but again got no response. I have now disputed the charge with my credit card issuer because I have no other choice. Your response to this review is a lie. You never emailed me about canceling my order and I never received a refund. Why would you cancel an order for items when your website said you had 4 left? Maybe you think I'm somebody else? Maybe you should just not sell on line if you can't do it correctly.
Randy, we left emails notifying you that we had to cancel your order. It was cancelled and we have already returned your money... Sorry for any misunderstanding!
Fantastic experience: Very pricey, but their quality and quantity of both fish and corals is unmatched to any fish store I’ve been to. Zero pests and beautiful corals. If you’re looking for A+ grade corals from someone with lots of experience this is your place. They also have a HUGE frag selection.
Negative experience: Do I need to say more? Torches are DOA. Skeleton fell off coral head. Didn’t overnight air. Got them in 2 days. Poor communication of their online team. Still waiting response on refund/credit. Update a day later: torch corals are completely dead, i had to remove from water column in case of affecting my other corals in the tank. I have a happy tank, it’s not my water parameter. Look at my tank, everything is healthy and happy. I’m not making this up. Your online team doesn’t respond well. As the owner, you should do the right thing for your customers instead of leaving to some team to handle things. I sent email yesterday within hours on DOA coral and yet I haven’t gotten any response except you on google review. what’s that about? After all, I did spend over $500. Of course I expect some sort of answers, and when your team don’t respond. Extra phone calls were needed to be left. But I’m no harassment to you and anyone in your company. I’m always polite. I just want the dead coral issue resolved. I order online from you. You sent package. Arrived in two days as you claimed no fault of yours. I opened box, dead corals. What am I supposed to do as a consumer? Reverse the role, you tell me!
Hey Alan, sorry that we cannot control shipping delays, as stated on every single product page our policy states that all of our packages go priority overnight. I also apologize that our shipping team can’t answer 10 extra emails and harassing phone calls asking the same question after they have answered it the first time.
Fantastic experience: Great spot! Love coming here when I get a chance. Their corals are some of the most beautiful and vibrant I have ever seen! Like a kid in a candy store! Their prices are high, but that's because you can tell they cherry pick their animals! Fire specimens!!! I cant hate on their prices so that's why I gave them 5 stars. With no hesitation!
Positive experience: They have a massive coral selection but a little on the pricey side.
Negative experience: Bought multiple corals from them and out of all the orders, I was only pleased with one. The acros arrived doa. I did get store credit but had to pay for shipping for the replacement and when they arrived they were doa. A lot of the corals are NOT wysiwyg which is unfortunate considering the pictures they post of the corals. Most of my purchases didn’t even resemble their pictures though. Most other online shops have wysiwyg and will arrive live, shop with them instead.
Fantastic experience: Highend prices and exotic corals but definitely worth the visit.
Fantastic experience: Unique corals at great prices. I’ve ordered from them several times.
Negative experience: If you want livestock fish that are malnourished and with parasites, then order from ReefloungeUSA. Made an online order for a Gem Tang and died within an hour of acclimation. By far the worst LFS I have ever dealt with and will not respond to emails.
Negative experience: Absolutely a disaster Placed and ordered, after I specifically ask for a little extra water for each coral to last the long trip to south Florida and to also name each bag. My request where ignored! Most corals arrive dead and package wasn't the best. Store gave me a credit and didn't have the same corals that I order available so I had to use it on something else plus charged me for shipping again! Definitely not doing business here again!
Negative experience: Salt water fish selection is 1 star. Coral frag selection 3 star. Employee does not wear a mask.
Fantastic experience: Amazing corals and totally worth the drive a must go to place!
Negative experience: I have never been more disappointed in an online coral dealer than I have with Reef Lounge USA. Initially, I was very excited to order from Reef Lounge due to some pretty great sales they had on their website and the chance for free shipping on orders over $300. Additionally, a reefer on Instagram supported their company so I figured I would give them a shot. I placed my order on a Wednesday and figured they might not ship it out until the following week because they only ship Monday-Wednesday. No worries there, I understand. I received my order confirmation email and they said they would update me with a tentative date they plan to ship my coral. One week elapsed, and I still hadn't heard any updates from the company. Monday I expected an email, then Tuesday, then Wednesday- but nothing. So I called the shop and the lady who answered the phone was nice and told me my corals would be shipping out the next day, a Thursday. I was certainly confused because the website says they only ship Monday-Wednesday, but I was happy nonetheless to get an update at least. Thursday came only to start the waves of disappointment with this company. First, I get an email stating that they JUST cut my frags, and they needed at least a week to heal, so they would not be shipping out like promised. Any online retailer I've purchased from before only sells pre cut frags, so it was disheartening to see they would be cutting my frags a week after I bought them. Then, 30 minutes later, I notice my bank account has been refunded the amount for my full order and I get an email from Reef Lounge stating that my order has been cancelled for no reason. EVERYTHING that I had purchased (on sale) was still listed as in stock on there website (no longer on sale of course), so I was very confused as to why the order would have been cancelled. I reached out via email for clarification and to this day have not received an email back. I called 2 times, with a promise to have a call from customer service by the end of the day. I never received a call back. Finally, on my third call, a worker was able to give me an answer while belittling me in the process. He said, "See, this is coral- it is alive. If it dies after you buy it, we can't ship it so what would you like us to do? It is a living thing." The worker treated me as if I didn't know that I was buying livestock. I've been reefing for over 6 years and he mocks me as if I don't know the coral is living? Of course I understand that things can happen and coral may go out of stock. But to never communicate this (the fact that the coral you purchased has died before it even shipped) to the customer is a huge blunder. And no one has ever been able to explain how everything I ordered is still available on their site, yet magically when I ordered it on sale they no longer had any available to ship me? I have had enough and will absolutely not order from this company. I would advise anyone else to do the same.
Hey nicolaas! Sorry that you had this experience! We were having a sale on corals that previously ended, so that’s why the order was cancelled along with the corals not being available. We have thousands of happy customers, we will take care of you if you decide to try us again!
Negative experience: The coral don’t look like the pictures even when you take pictures of them with the filters he ask. I ordered 7 different sps coral from him 3 of them looked like they were the same coral. I sent email without a response until I called 5 days later and He said to give the coral time to heal and adjust which I did but the colors didn’t get any better. I sent another email with no response again. Very little customer service and the pictures on the site are altered
Negative experience: Buyer beware..... just wanted to share this with everyone. I gave in and bought a couple torch’s from a place called ReefLounge online. One of them I received had a cracked head on it and was DOA. The other one lasted less then a week which I communicated to them with emails and pictures and then advised when it died. Initially they said to keep them posted and they will take care of it should it die and once it died they now say sorry but they won’t replace it. I would highly recommend not to purchase anything from them as their communication and quality of coral is garbage.
Fantastic experience: My personal experience with the reef lounge has been fantastic, I live in Ohio so I’m a mail order customer only and im personally glad I found them I have seen people talking about high prices but honestly their prices are as competitive as they can be in the current market and for what I received I’ve been nothing but happy with my coral , they have answered all my questions via email and supplied their phone number if i needed immediate help with something,I have had 8 different zoas from them 1 being a large colony and all of them where healthy and larger than I excepted there was a 1 day delay with my last order but they where packaged so well they survived it and the store had already told me that if they didn’t they would give me credit for all of them, great job reef lounge you have gained a trusting permanent customer here and I appreciate your great customer service I’ll be back for more soon
Tony, we appreciate your kind words and for your continued business! We are happy we can keep you as a returning customer. Have a great day!
Negative experience: Bad customer service, they took forever to get to me and then they were rude. The owner does not wear a mask. The coral doesn’t look like their pictures.
Negative experience: Customer service was terrible, I waited over half an hour just to be asked if I needed help when there were three employees working. Employees helped other costumers that they already knew even though I waited longer. I was quoted different prices by different people. Overall coral selection was pretty decent. No masks were worn by employees and a majority of costumers. I would go elsewhere if looking for coral and will not come back based on my first experience here.
Hey Michael, when asked if you needed help you asked about our sale and that you were still looking around! Sorry if there was any miscommunication!
Negative experience: They favor certain customers. spent almost $1000 with them and will not be buying anything else due to the lack of professionalism.
Fantastic experience: I'll stop by here any time I'm in the area. I haven't bought anything from here, but if I were to get into aquariums this would be one of the first places I'd go. The staff seem to really know their stuff. I just like looking at the fish :)
Positive experience: Jimmy is a cool guy. Prices could be more competitive on fish also not the largest selection. He has tons of corals and I don't mean frags........he has colonies!!!
Fantastic experience: Very nice store. Everything you want for salt water. Not much fresh water fish. Went there for Duscus but they were out. Beautiful selection of corals and other salt water reef.
Fantastic experience: Clean shop, lots of really nice corals, great prices.
Negative experience: I'm new to reef keeping and didn't like how they treated me. They brag about how much corals their best customers buy which was a turn off and gave me the feeling that they only want to spend time with certain people.
Fantastic experience: Great people, nice selection of fish everything from Africans to zebra danios. And great selection of Equipment and accessories
Fantastic experience: Was a good spot, met up with some fellow reefers from Instagram and toured the shop.
Fantastic experience: Love this place
Positive experience: No a lot of selection of fish.. Helpful employees
Negative experience: I ordered three frags on Wednesday and for over night shipping. Now they tell me it’s not going to happen and I will not get my corals till next Wednesday. I was so excited and ready but now what to do. I have to wait a week after paying extra and it’s killing me to wait./ UPDATE now they have completely canceled my order because of all this
Fantastic experience: Generation of my family have been coming to Jimmy long before this most recent location
Fantastic experience: Great service and quality specimens. The tanks are healthy and selection is great. I bought a Geometric moray eel or "tattoo eel" he is doing great. I will be definitely doing business with this shop.
Negative experience: Bought some corals online and when I received them they were ice cold. No heating pack had been placed in shipment. Both acros I got were dead and other corals were in rough shape. Tried contacting them about it and got no response to email or phone call. Won't be ordering from them again.
Negative experience: Jimmy is a very dishonest Money hungry individual How does he go by everyday knowing fully that his fish and corals have bacteria on them that will wreck havoc on anyone’s tank. And to top it off he has the worst attitude and worst customer service. I will be reporting him to the BBB because what he’s doing is a scam He should pay the grieving widow of X all the fish and coral he stole. WILL NEVER BE GOING THERE AGAIN
Negative experience: STAY AWAY!!!! This guy Jimmy Tao very rude trying to sell me dead fish, also worst fish conditions and messy, AIPTASIA everywhere, and EVERYTHING INFECTED, never goin
Fantastic experience: Always can count on good advice from the staff. Little long drive from Chino but worth it because of the wide variety of corals that are available and reasonable price for what your getting. Would recommend to anyone.
Negative experience: Beware of your mail order shipments and wasting money on their doa insurance. It was a waste of money as they have a fine print 2hr clause.
Fantastic experience: Amazing selection of coral, one of the best around!
Fantastic experience: Amazing it was worth the 45min drive you should check them out for yourself.
Fantastic experience: Great service and nice size selection of corals
Fantastic experience: Awesome place...variety of corals. Best I found in the Anaheim area during my stay.
Negative experience: This guy sold a coral to my dad that it wasn’t advertised to be. Classic bait and switch.
Negative experience: They post pictures of coral and after you receive it and it obviously no what you order, they then explain their photo was taken u see blue light and the tentacle of what you received, don’t extend out like what is depicted in their advertised photo. Bait and switch, buyers beware.
Hey Nat, coral will look different under different lighting. Also, if you do not keep the torch in the specific conditions then it will not extend all the way!
Fantastic experience: My first time here and the staff are friendly and know their products. Might of found my new salt water fish store. Photo is of my tank.
Fantastic experience: One of the best stocked cleanest reef stores i have been in
Fantastic experience: Healthy fish and coral. A lot of signature clowns!
Positive experience: So much to choose from! However on the pricey side.
Fantastic experience: A wide variety of fish and coral selection available
Fantastic experience: Prices are pretty good and the people working there where helpfull and knowledgeable. Oh and i forget to mention how much coral they have in stock
Fantastic experience: Really helpful team at Reef Lounge. Fair price and huge selection...
Fantastic experience: Excellent service, I would highly recommend his services. Jimmy is very knowledgeable and what you to be successful with your tank. He warranty everything's he sells.
Fantastic experience: If you're looking for saltwater related this is the place to go. Large coral selections, clean, knowledgeable, but a but pricey. Overall, it was worth the traffic.
Fantastic experience: Well maintained aquariums, beautiful corals and very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Probably the best aquarium store in Southern california. Very knowledgeable and helpfu staff with top quality saltwater fish and corals at good prices
Fantastic experience: I changed my review from 'one of the best' to it IS the best reef store in southern california. Huge selection of coral, and an always changing variety of fish available. Jimmy is a master and offers plenty of advise, even for new comers to the hobby.
Fantastic experience: Wow...live an hour away and this is a great store for Saltwater fish and corals. Prices might be a bit high but for health, selection, size it is hard to compare with others I have seen.
Negative experience: 4/4 visits... Prices are higher than their competitors(not counting the infested $5 frags). Each time there was a different kid working and each time they were arrogant and belittling. I had to trash the frags that I purchased on 2 separate occasions as both had very unwanted hitchhikers...($125.00 gone). I didn't bother asking for a replacement for either since on my fourth and final visit I noticed that these issues were present in the majority of their tanks. Perform a very close inspection on any potential purchases!!! 8 months later.... Update: Decided to give this establishment another shot and things did not go well. First off you should know that they are trying to bury the negative reviews by offering 20% off your purchase for a positive yelp/google review. So this explains why there are so many good reviews. It also explains why the prices are higher than their competitors... (overpriced coral - 20%discount = regular price). That being said, I walk in the door and it’s like he’s been waiting for me since the day I posted the original review. As I said before I have only had interactions with his his rude minions, so how he knew who I was is still a mystery. He walked up to me and loudly asked how long I have been doing this(as if length of time spent in a hobby somehow dictates the level of respect/service one should receive). I replied that I have kept FW and SW setups since the mid 90’s... he then proceeds to argue with me about this review which naturally got his minions chuckling. Now I’m no business man but if a customer has a bad experience and you have the opportunity to win back that customer you should 1.) Probably not cause a scene in your establishment with said customer, especially when other customers are present. 2.) You should not attempt to bully/belittle said customer into changing their mind 3.) Possibly take a business ethics/anger management class Want positive reviews? Healthy stock + helpful/knowledgeable staff = 5⭐️
Fantastic experience: This place is great! I travel 1 hour to go to this amazing place. Jimmy is very knowledgeable on everything he has in stock. Will be a life time return customer.
Fantastic experience: Excellent reef store... Glad I finally found this place. Used to travel all over just to find the coral I wanted. Super selection, very knowledgeable staff. I would recommend to anyone. I'vehad zero issues with buying anything here. Speaking on some of the negative reviews....I get when you buy something you expect certain things from it. When you are dealing with anything live and in large quantities, there will be a few issues here an there, especially with marine animals. Not sure everytime or anytime something happens it dictates a bad review here though. Most all of them obviously have been coming here for awhile and should understand what it means to buy live aquaria. Anyway, the staff here will guide you right and the selection is one of the best in all of Southern CA!
Fantastic experience: Very knowledgeable and helpful staff and the livestock and coral are very healthy and well maintained.
Fantastic experience: Best fish store I've seen! Specialized in Salt Water fish and very informative.
Fantastic experience: Great selection, great service, very helpful
Fantastic experience: VERY HELPFUL!!!! I live in New Hampshire and new to saltwater. I have a 15 gallon nano cube. The tank was set up for a pair of Hippocampus Erectus Seahorses. A few days after I brought them home one was laying on the sand. Eyes were moving normally. All the fish stores were closed because New Hampshire is eastern daylight time. I was panicked. My husband suggested that I call another State that is pacific daylight time. I went on line and found Reef Lounge USA listed and sells seahorses. The man I talked with was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The fact that he knew he wouldn't get any business from me because of where I live didn't stop him from helping me. He asked what she was hitching to. Apparently what they hitch to will determine how they can hold themselves up. I was so relieved. I would highly recommend the Reef Lounge USA.
Fantastic experience: GREAT STAFF, AWESOME CORAL AND FISH SELECTION.
Fantastic experience: Jimmy has an incredible display of healthy fish & corals for sale. By far my favorite seller in so cal.!!! You can always tell when a guy cares about what he does and his shop as well as selection reflects what I care to see when I'm ready to spend for my own tank.
Fantastic experience: Jimmy always has great advice when it comes to dealing with my tank issues. Reef Lounge has a wide variety of coral and salt water fish. Water refills (fresh and salt) are also top quality. I love that their open on Sundays too.
Fantastic experience: You will love this shop . I have visited a lot of shops in Orange County . They are absolutely the best . I will strongly recommend their shop to my friends.
Negative experience: My best friend and I (we’ll call him X), had a huge passion and bond for saltwater reef and fish tanks. I had just acquired a custom 75 gallon tank that needed EVERYTHING, and X wanted to purchase a 150 gallon tank. In 2009 I was introduced to the owner of Reef Lounge Jimmy, by a friend who use to build custom tanks. X, bought a 180 gallon reef tank with everything from Reef Lounge, and the tank was beautiful, with beautiful fish and coral. X, Jimmy, and I maintained a business relationship for years. X maintained more of a friendship because Jimmy did monthly maintenance and cleaning. But as time went on the maintaining and cleaning started to slip. April 2nd, 2016, I lost my best friend unexpectedly. His widow and children were of course in mourning, and his widow (knowing Jimmy was X’s friend) asked Jimmy to take the tank out of their home, and hold on to it until she and the children moved. She wanted to make the tank a memorial for her husband, something his children could enjoy, she could enjoy, and his friends could enjoy. X LOVED that stuff! So this is what Jimmy did. Jimmy removed the tank from X’s home. He then resells the rock, fish, and corals to his employees because, “I had to pay my employees to move the tank”. Why wouldn’t he just bill the widow? For 2 hours of work his employees received 3 Kessil lights, a protein skimmer, refugium lighting, wave pumps, wave controller, chiller, and everything in the tank. Adding this up he paid his employees over $3000.00 to break down a tank (for a grieving widow) that took 2 hours. I’m writing this review because that has to be the most unethical, sneakiest business man I’ve ever met, and this story needs to be told. I went in there to look at the tank, it’s chipped, missing hardware. He has yet to speak to the widow. I’ve let her know what happened to her husbands tank, and the unfortunate condition of what’s left of it. Where does she go from here, is of course, up to her, but felt what happened with Jimmy at Reef Lounge should be told. And I guess leave it up to you to decide if you want to deal with someone who could do that to someone at their lowest time.
Fantastic experience: I live in corona, but have no problem making the drive out. Jimmy takes good care of his store, and really cares about his fish and corals. He will tell you not to buy a fish if it's not right for your tank. I noticed another review said the fish have parasites. Let me tell you, every fish store has fish with parasites, it's part of the deal. It's up to you to pick a healthy fish OR don't be lazy and quarantine your fish to make sure they are not sick.
Fantastic experience: The owner, Jimmy, knows his stuff. If you have any questions, he'll have an answer for you. They have a great selection of corals, live stock and dry goods. If there's anything they don't have, Jimmy will order it for you. The store is well maintained and the prices are very reasonable. Jimmy always gives me a great deal on everything I buy.
Fantastic experience: this the best reef store I've seen friendly and very helpful staff !
Fantastic experience: Place is great family owned and operated, Jimmy (the owner) is very knowledgeable, and can answer any and every question you have. I've read some of the other lower star reviews and almost don't believe it's the same store... Fish collection??? This is reef lounge, maybe they have changed there name but I've been coming here for almost 2 years and it has been the best fish store I've ever been to. I've purchased fish and taken them back the next day for a full refund/exchange. Not because they were sick but because my other fish were aggressive towards them. I've had a red serpent star start to lose its limbs and was given full credit when I came in with what remained. They have helped me solve a red algae problem, and if I have any concerns about added something they give me stright answers. Often times telling me, you can try but I wouldn't do it, or a flat out know you don't want this. In fact I haven't had a single fish die from the store other the suicide because my flame hawk jumped out of the tank... Which they warned me about. Anyone giving this place a one star knows nothing about the hobby and is probably upset because they didn't realize how expensive it can be and how difficult it is to maintain a nice healthy tank if your trying to do it cheap. This place will tell you how to do it the right way, at a fair and competitive price. You might find something cheaper on Craigslist like one reviewer mentioned, but it's CL and probably a scam... Though he didn't say how many bags of live sand he bought in his review but he did say he still got a $25 refund for some price matching. I've been to other stores in the area, and have had the owners just make you feel dumb for asking questions, that will never happen here. Id give it 6 stars if I could.
Positive experience: I give it a 3, selection of livestock is ok, but owner tries to sell you everything just to make a sale... pricing is fair some stuff is cheap while other stuff is cheaper somewhere else
Fantastic experience: I don't know what the guys that rated this store with a one star, but the reviews I read from them I would strongly disagree with. I have been to many, maybe all, fish stores around the area, and none of them compare to the Reef Lounge in quality of livestock and coral, knowledge, prices, and helpfulness. They will help you with any questions you need. I've been to other stores that didn't know answers to some, but the Reef Lounge did. Great family owned store and the ONLY one I go to for all my needs.
Fantastic experience: I went to the Fish collection for the first time and was very impressed with the competitive prices and the customer service. The only thing to make this place better is that the store is a little cramped, however they said they would be moving location in about a month or so. Can't wait to check out their new place when they are up and running! Also, if you go to the store make sure to go on a weekend Fri-Sunday as they discount their fish and coral close to 20% on weekends. Love this place, will be going back soon.
