Fantastic experience: Love the variety of fish. Feels like a store run by someone who is passionate about fosh keeping.

Negative experience: Clean store, clean tanks, friendly staff, and an awesome selection of tropical fish/plants. The reason I’m giving them two stars is for the service I received after purchase. I bought multiple fish and some supplies from here on Thursday, one of which was a $200 Zebra Pleco. I’ve been keeping fish and planted aquariums for 20 years, I tried everything to get this little guy to eat but he wouldn’t touch anything since day one. 4 days later, it’s dead. After testing my water, looking at pictures of the fish, and going over my tank we couldn’t come up with much of a reason why it passed. Only thing the guy at the shop could think of was a bacterial infection, and like I said I’ve been in the hobby for 20 years sometimes stuff just happens with fish. But really… it hasn’t ate since I got it, and appears emaciated in the photos I shared. I was hopeful the store would help me out with a replacement or a pretty good discount for that particular fish, but the best they would do for me is $50 in store credit. I understand the policy is 24 hours, and they didn’t technically have to offer any help but with other facts involved I would’ve thought they’d be more willing to jump in and help out a little more than $50. I can buy this fish cheaper online, but I paid a premium hoping it’d be less risky and better support if something goes wrong. I was wrong. From one small business owner to another, this isn’t how I would treat my clients.

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful getting me back through the process of cycling and selecting the right fish for a fairly complicated idea I had.

Fantastic experience: Place is a bit on the extreme side of fishkeeping. They’ve got a few varieties you normally see in pet stores, but a majority of their stock is rather exotic and rare and is going to run you into the hundreds of $’s. Went for a cheaper variety eel the other day and the cheapest one went for 100$. Great variety just expensive as shit.

Negative experience: My boyfriend and I came in with hopes to buy a fish as we just upgraded our tank. As the options were endless, it seemed to be way over priced. $500 for one fish. $2000 for another. Ridiculous. We spent about 30 mins in the store looking at all the tanks and the entire time we were there the employee didn’t once come and chat with us or checked on us but made sure to keep an eye on us as he kept peaking around the corner. We walked the place twice before my boyfriend made a comment about the lack of customer service. We had just came from another fish store that had given us exceptional service. I was no longer interested in purchasing from this establishment and suggested we leave. We would’ve been more willing to purchase something responsible if we had been given the correct customer service.

Fantastic experience: This is a little gem of an aquarium store. Yes, it’s a bit dark, and the aquariums are not spotless clean. Most of the limited selection of aquatic plants are not in great condition. However, the store more than makes up for its shortcomings with the excellent selection of fish species that are rarely seen in the DFW area. They seem to specialize in L-number plecos and large predatory fish. A few cool species I saw in the store today included juvenile Giant River Threadfin, Freshwater Tiger Moray, Purple Yangtze Loach, Marbled Lancer Catfish, and my favorite pleco, the Zebra Pleco. If you are in the market for unusual, exotic or rarely seen fish species, you may find it at this store.

Fantastic experience: The only place around I could find any bichirs. Fair priced too! I got a Gold Dust Bichir (Polypterus palmas buettikoferi) and I love it. Worker was well informed and super nice. Such a wide variety of fish I was blown away. I could spend all day in this place. 10 out of 10 deffenitly coming back.

I didnt have good luck with the first sets of fish I bought,but the 3rd set have lasted. There is algae but from my experience it's from keeping the lights on doe extended times. I so wish they had a return policy on their fish

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting. The pictures shown on the website had to have been taken years ago. The fish are living in horrible conditions, and it was actually hard to walk through the store. There were dead, large, catfish, just molding at the bottom of the tank. Most tanks were covered in algae. We were not welcomed when coming in, or helped at all. I cannot believe the rating is so high. It’s obvious the workers tried made fake reviews. The fish looked starved and depressed. The filters were completely covered in moss and algae. It has me choking up thinking about it. The place should be shut down. I forgot the mention the plants are basically all dead, covered in algae.

Negative experience: This store is not it. Walking in it is extremely dark and smells horrible. The guy that works there didn’t greet us or even ask if we needed help. He looked like he didn’t want to be there. Walking around the store i noticed that the tanks were filthy. There were dead fish and fish that looked like they were dying. There was 5 or 6 of one breed of fish in a tank floating belly up and not moving. They were in the same tank as another breed of fish. To me that seems like an issue. What if they are sick or diseased and those other fish now are contaminated as well. My sister and i went in as she is getting into making her own aquarium and it made her so sad just seeing how disgusting it is. Definitely do not recommend coming to this store if you are actively looking to get healthy fish.

Fantastic experience: The “BEST” aquarium shop in Dallas. I’ve been to almost all the fish stores in DFW over the years. The variety and the rarity of the fish in this store is mind blowing. And the prices are great compared to others. I’m very impressed after my visit. If you are looking to keep any kind of fresh water fish. This is the place to go. Also, the guy at the store was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would 100% recommend this store to the nerds and the anyone starting with the hobby. I’m really happy i visited the store.

Negative experience: We drove all the way from Deep Ellum to get some fish thinking this was a normal business. Thinking It probably opened around 10 or 1030. wish I would’ve known this was a nightclub instead of a fish store since they open so ridiculously late…

Fantastic experience: This place has an incredible selection of unique and healthy fish. They also offer HUGE fish at an very affordable price. I loved watching the Mudskippers and Puffers. They had a ton of Arowanas and Eels ranging in all sizes and prices. This place is a hidden gem for awesome fish.

Fantastic experience: In town for business, decided to choose one local fish store to visit. Looked through a few Google searches to find a fish store that might actually have a nice/ uncommon selection. Walked in the front door and immediately dropped my jaw.. the largest bichirs I've ever seen in my life! I am a huge bichir fan and never have I been so blown away with the bichir selection. 5 stars for that reason alone. The man who worked there also down to earth and knew his fish which was a pleasant surprise. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: “Your Pet Fish” is relatively new store, specializing in the freshwater arena. It’s a beautiful place, worth the drive just to see their 2-foot long freshwater moray eel. Plus they have a great selection of exotic freshwaters. As well, the owners/staff are friendly and personable. Don’t miss the turn-in though or you will get to make a few U-turns to get back!! Go check out Your Pet Fish.

Negative experience: If I could give this place a zero rating I would. I walked in today 2/10/24 and the first thing that hits you in the face is the disgusting smell.. it smells like a sewer. Then as you continue in you get to see a lot of adult fish in extremely small tanks, some of them are so small the fish are just stuck to not being able to move about & overcrowding. They had some fish that were touching mouth to tail and they even had over 6 Large discus’s in one small sized tank. Discus like most fish are supposed to be kept in clean water conditions but the tank they were in were extremely dirty. A lot of tanks were covered in Algae & fish feces. The poor fish are kept in horrible conditions and not to mention the fish are WAY overpriced. $300 for one discus fish, $60 for one angel fish, some fish were over 1,000. Baby Gars were way over 1,000 as well. The place looked & def smelled dirty & the pictures are just a few of the many bad conditions of these fish. This place needs to be shut down immediately. Edit: To your response from my review you definitely do NOT do regular water changes on these tanks the pictures alone speak for themselves, algae doesn’t happen overnight & one of the common causes of it is not doing frequent water changes & can cause that nasty smell. It’s the lack of care y’all give that’s sad that y’all are even still open. So where you get off saying you charge a lot of money based off the care & upkeep you provide is baffling. Next “routine water changes” do NOT smell like a sewer, coming from an experienced fish keeper. Also you walk into other fish stores & never smell this horrible during water changes. I’m not the first one to comment on the smell of your establishment & poor conditions of these fish in the reviews & someone else also agreed about having this place shut down immediately because of the lack of care that goes into these beautiful fish. Leaving a long response about how you have “good reviews” and “routine maintenance” doesn’t change anything from what we saw in person & pictures/videos speak for themselves. Instead of taking the time do leave paragraphs, use your time wisely & properly clean these tanks & give these fish bigger tanks to live in as your promoting their sell or don’t own a fish store.You even had a tank that was low on the water level for some fish, how do you miss that if you do routine maintenance?

Positive experience: Tough to find.. northwest corner of Beltline and Marsh.. the fish are pretty exotic varieties, so if you're looking for something outside of typical freshwaters, this is your place. Small but nicely set up. A bit pricey, but again 90% of what's in here is NOT your everyday tropical fish. Yes, its a bit humid in there, but it didn't smell bad. All fish were in excellent condition.

Positive experience: The store itself was ok, but the quality of fish and how they are kept is excellent. All the aquariums are clean and tidy, I did not see a single dead or sick fish. They want a pretty penny for their fish, but that seems to be common in this area. Overall I had a good experience and will return.

Negative experience: Right when you walk in, it smells like musty fish. There was water leaking all over the floor. Most of the lights weren't even on. All the tanks have a disgusting amount of algae and mulm. Dead fish everywhere, including a diseased betta fish (see photos). I guess it was better three months ago. This place should not be open anymore.

This is where you would go to find monsters like red tail cats or large bichirs or weirds beasts like lungfish or sturgeons. Amarri, the guy who works there is very helpful and friendly. They will try to find whatever you are looking for, if its not in stock they can try to special order it in. I wish them all the best, its about time we had a store like this in dallas now that fishgallery has gone mellow.

Positive experience: I visited the store to check the fish and to my surprise they had awesome collection of exotic fish that I saw for the first time and the Store is well organized and the staff were friendly and willing to share information in regards to the fish and the care that is needed . Planning to get my kids next time as it’s an awesome experience even to stroll around and pick from the great variety they have.

Fantastic experience: I usually go to DNA and or Fish Gallery. Im an oddball/monster fish lover. This is my new store. I live in Royse City so driving from there to carrollton to be disappointed sucks. Does not happen with this store. Love the fish they have!

Fantastic experience: This place has all the best oddballs and monsters. Sonia was a huge help. Got what I came for and then some. The prices are fair, but be ready to probably go over budget, they have the coolest fish for sale locally that I've found, which is why I went over budget.

Fantastic experience: Alright! Alright! Finally found a place to have some exotic fish in my tank. I really like the decor at the front when I walked in. All the fish looked very healthy and well taken care of. I asked one of the sales guy for a specific exotic fish I wanted, after two and half week later I was able to pick it up. I highly recommend this place if your an aquarist like me.

Their monster fish are BEAUTIFUL and extremely healthy, staff are very knowledgeable (the manager is amazing!), fish are cared for and healthy and practically full-grown, their prices are genuinely fair and reasonable, overall easily the best fish store in the city! Fantastic experience: I just stopped in to this store for the first time today, and I'm so happy I did. I mostly keep Bettas and their stock seemed really healthy and were in big cups with a lil plant. They had a great selection of plants that I hadn't seen anywhere else and I'm really excited to add some new varieties to my tank. Will definitely be back for more plants in the future!

But also the quality of the fish and tanks well maintained along side with good prices!!. Spent $120 on fish I've been looking for , for the longest that no other store could get for x reason and this location had it all!! Thanks for keeping the hobby alive and also for the friendly staff & having plenty of knowledge.
