Pisces Fish and Coral

Positive experience: Pisces Fish & Coral has an amazing selection and clearly takes much better care of their fish than most pet stores. The tanks are clean, the fish look healthy, and there’s a wide variety of products to choose from. Visually, the store is well organized and impressive. This was my first time visiting, and I could see right away why people speak highly of it. I’m not a confrontational person and I have extreme social anxiety, so I tend to keep my visits quick. When I came in, there were about five people in the store (including me) and one employee, which seemed reasonable for the store size. The employee greeted me, asked if I had any questions, and was helpful when I asked about aquarium soil. He seemed friendly, knowledgeable, and overall a nice person. The only reason I’m leaving feedback is because of how checkout went. When it came time for the customer he’d been helping for the past 20 minutes to pay, that customer cut right in front of me and stood uncomfortably close, clearly trying to get me to move like he was “owed” the right to check out first. The employee saw this happen and still rang him up before me. I had clearly been waiting in line with one item in my hand for over 5 minutes, and it would have taken less than a minute to ring me up before continuing with him. I wish the situation had been handled differently, as it left me feeling a bit overlooked during my first visit. Overall, this is a great store with a lot to offer, and I can see why it’s so well reviewed. However, this was my first impression and it came with a bad experience. I’m just getting into the saltwater aquarium hobby, and this store seemed to have everything I’d need.

Fantastic experience: I only go here for aquarium fish. There is always someone nice to answer my questions and they take better care of their fish than large pet stores do.

Negative experience: I’ve shopped at this store multiple times and have always had great experiences, except with the rude blonde girl working there. She told me the plants I’ve purchased before were suddenly not for sale and told me not to touch the propagated plants, even though I’ve been allowed to handle and buy them in the past without issue. She was short, dismissive, and completely unfriendly. If there are new “rules,” this is the first I’ve ever heard of them. No other employee, including the owner, has ever said anything like that. Her attitude alone is enough to make me think twice about coming back. Lowered to 2 stars since I just seen she charged me $8.49 for the $4 propagated plants i purchased

Fantastic experience: Literally the BEST, it’s so lovely in there (I specifically house shrimp and fresh waters, so that’s what I was in there for) and the cherries had such a thriving colony among all the other different varieties. I called ahead and they gave me specifics about their delivery schedule and let me know which kinds of shrimp were available and who was out of stock. My cherries have been thriving in my tank at home, likely due to the care they were given from their source (+ they’re pretty easy babies), and I couldn’t have been happier with the service and the personalities of everybody in there (the caretaker included!) Thank you!

Negative experience: I recently drove all the way from Victorville 39 miles to be exact to visit Pisces, Fish and Coral, as their Google listing stated they would be open until 6 PM. However, when I arrived at 5:07 PM, I found a note on the window saying they were closed for the Super Bowl. It would be greatly appreciated if they could update their hours on Google, especially since it's easy to make daily adjustments. This would help avoid any inconvenience for future customers. hopefully you understand my frustration.

Positive experience: Got 3 fish, two of which I was specifically looking for and an Emperor angle that my wife wanted. One of the bags wasn't secured very well and opened on the way home, but all fish in tank and happy.

Positive experience: They use to have a better selection on saltwater fishes. But they have not received anything good in a while.

Fantastic experience: I love shopping at Pisces Fish and Coral. This is my go-to LFS (local fish store). They always have very healthy livestock, and their prices are fair, too. I highly recommend them!

Negative experience: The reptiles in his care are absolutely horrendous, and suffering. This shop needs to be closed down. This is blatant animal abuse. Those poor animals are clearly suffering. How can someone have such a dark soul to just allow this to happen?!?!? I’m beyond SHOCKED. These animals need to be SURRENDERED to a rescue or they WILL die.

Positive experience: Tons of frags, at extremely low prices. Great selection. Kinda light on fish. Where else can one get 15 dollar frags.

Positive experience: I think 3 stars pretty much sums it up. The selection, quality, and prices are average for the amount of space the place is in. The staff was friendly, but no livestock really stuck out as special or deal worthy. Great for beginner spot if you’re looking for some simple frags, but definitely dip them. I think it’s worth the drive to go to Norco or LA for high end stuff at the prices they provide.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I love this little stop! Everyone seems to kinda know one another! Good selection of fish who all seem to be very well cared for. We’ve even been in a few times to see that the owner is babysitting clients birds, tortoises, and others! Good quality stuff, the guys there always seem to know their stuff.

Fantastic experience: Pisces is always my go-to fish store! I have only ever recommended Pisces to friends and passers-by. The owner, Josh, and Mason are wonderful humans who know how to answer essentially every single question, sometimes before you ask. The atmosphere is joyful and relaxing, and the banter between coworkers makes it more enjoyable to go there. Between the freshwater/saltwater fish, plant, and coral selection, and the ever-growing reptile supply stands, Pisces has been my favourite store to go to for almost three years and will continue to be the best aquatic store in the I.E.

Negative experience: Josh was very rude and just a jerk. He shamed us for having a certain fish and kept insisting all fish we had were going to die, not helpful at all, we just wanted tp purchase something for the tank. Terrible service and we will not be back. Already missing Global Aquatics!

Fantastic experience: This place was awesome! One of the few fish stores open on Sundays. The gentleman who helped me was incredibly kind. I'm an amature aquarium owner and the employee really helped me find fish that fit my tank and worked well with my other inhabitants. While waiting to be helped, as it was busy when I went, I spoke with some of the other patrons who apparently help keep the store stocked with fish and they were just as nice and knowledgeable. Super great culture here and highly recommended to go for all your fresh and saltwater needs.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. It’s a small store but very well maintained. The tanks are well kept and disease and pest free. Josh is very knowledgeable and always happy to help. He keeps a nice variety of livestock available and has a bunch of cool coral frags all the time too… Great shop! Always worth stopping thru!!!

Fantastic experience: Best service ANYWHERE!! We just brought a 180gl salt water tank from them, Josh and Mason delivered and installed for us. Very professional and friendly. They are amazing people! Josh walked me through the whole process because we are new at this. Wouldn’t have done it without Josh’s help and info. Morgan is also very friendly and knowledgeable helping me with the aquarium! Love this store and will definitely recommend to ALL!

Pisces Fish and coral is good choice for your fish keeping needs. Yes you could shop online for deals but I shop here to support local small business. And again Josh has excellent customer service. Today Josh helped me replace an air pump that was malfunctioning plus gave me half price off towards new air pump. Also gave me a dollar off for each shrimp I bought. I will recommend Pisces Fish and Coral to family, friends and sometimes strangers.

Fantastic experience: If i could give more than 5 stars I would! Such a great fish store! Their bettas are not in cups which I've never seen before! I think that is amazing and progressive! The girl who works there is such a pleasure to talk to, and as my younger sibling was throwing a tantrum she calmed him down by letting him pet a giant starfish. THAT type of customer service is not seen and it was refreshing to experience. I bought some freshwater plants and substrate there aswell, and they look AMAZING! Never again will I use fake plants! 100/5 stars!!!!

Fantastic experience: The owner is great and friendly! He has good freshwater fish and saltwater fish. His prices are great this is my favorite fish store and I will always buy from here. Only problem I have is that he has an employee and when she is in the store she makes up her own prices compared to the owner. Example: I asked for a maroon clown once and she told me it was 69.99 and when I asked the owner he told me 29.99.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't ever been in this place until recently and I'm glad I waited because judging by reviews the new ownership is much better than the old. I went in looking for a new saltwater tank and Josh was able to help me out and walk me through the whole process. You can tell he's very passionate about what he does. I special ordered a few items and when he's says he's going to do something he does it. I will 100% recommend Josh and the crew at Pisces to any friends that may look into getting an aquarium.

Fantastic experience: Joshua is friendly and knowledgeable. Pisces covered everything I'm looking for in an aquarium. They have a diverse selection of fish and invertebrates for salt water and fresh water tanks, as well as a transparent quarantine system in place. He answered all AND demonstrated some techniques we had questions about. He showed us what works for him and his success is very apparent. I'll definitely go back in the future because I trust that this store has the best interest at heart for their animals, plants and customers.

Fantastic experience: The new owner of Pisces Josh is very knowledgeable about saltwater aquariums. He has been instrumental in helping us set up our 180 gallon salt water aquarium. When requesting a fish, coral or product that is not in the store he has it available within a week. The prices are very competitive with other stores The store is clean and organized. I highly recommend Pisces Fish and Coral as your go to place for salt and fresh water needs.

Negative experience: I cant edit my original review so posting a new one. I do wish I could still shop at this store due to the excellent care Charles gives to the livestock. I cant deny that you will get an excellent product if I'm being honest. His customer service was very lacking one day though. A previous customer had written him a bad check and I understand how that may be upsetting, but he took it out on me. He accused me of knowingly bringing in black ich into his system. Also accused me of spying on him for another fish store that I rarely ever shop at. He made no effort to make things right so I will no longer shop at this store. Hopefully other customers are not treated like this when he is having a bad day

Fantastic experience: Came in today to replenish my tank after a Dalmatian molly I purchased from Petco (along with 2 female guppies) became aggressive and killed the other fish in the tank. Charles was so helpful and calm with us. He helped us pick out some shrimp and a handful of guppies to put in our nano tank. The selection is incredible and the fish are very healthy. He’s also got a nice stock of live aquatic plants, which I also purchased. I’ll never buy fish anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I absolutely love this store. Like everyone else has stated several times, Charles is an extremely knowledgeable and helpful guy. His fish, coral and supply selection is better than any of the other local stores and the tank are extremely clean. We've purchased many many pieces of hard and soft coral from him, clean up crew and fish. The corals are PEST free!! I CANNOT say the same about our other local store on Rochester. He keeps our tank size in mind and won't sell us anything we can't handle! With his guidance our tank is flourishing and our corals are growing so quickly we will either have to frag or go bigger! His pricing is very fair considering the area he's in. Our Duncan was about half this size and had only one head. In 4 months we have 5 additional heads going - Very high quality and HEALTHY coral!!!

Fantastic experience: Pisces is a great little fish store. There is a good selection of high end fresh and saltwater species as well as tanks, equipment and decor. Prices are very fair and the owner is truly helpful as well. The store is relatively new and will continue to improve it's selection. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Ran in five minutes before closing and he was busy helping customers, but made time to answer my questions. He didn’t have the coral dip product I was looking for, but gave me an alternative. I didn’t bother to check his pricing but it was the same as online. He also has a great selection of fish and only top rate dry goods. I appreciated seeing a number of different tanks and used equipment all at great prices. Hope to go back and spend sometime checking out his amazing fish and coral selection and getting his advice on stocking my tank.

Charles, the owner, has things for the beginner fresh water aquarist all the way up to the very long time crazy reefer! The saltwater fish are hand picked, and it shows. Best purple tangs.....PERIOD! Nice to see some freshwater oddballs as well as African cichlids. Nice amount of coral softs to acropora. Charles is also extremely knowledgeable and dedicated. If you ever were thinking about setting up a tank, this is a place that will set you up for success, not failure. Rancho Cucamonga CA needs a place like this. Fantastic experience: I'm always looking for aquarium shops around in the areas I'm working in. Then to my surprise Pisces Exotic Pets popped up. I am so happy that they're close to my house. Got a 5 gal. Nano tank and some supplies. Their customer service is awesome! Will be returning and also referring friends. I wish them the best!
