Negative experience: This place neglects animals to the point it is SEVERE animal cruelty. Their animals are genuinely suffering. I have videos of them allowing one of their reptiles to be eaten alive by bugs! I called over an employee and he did nothing! The conditions some of these animals are in can be fatal. Please call the clayton county police non emergency line or clayton county’s humane society till we can get something done about this! This is outside clayton county’s animal control range when it comes to checking on animals, so they are not an option.

Positive experience: The owner was very pleasant. I went there to buy some goldfish He was very generous. I left there happy with my purchase.. I will be going back again .thanks

Negative experience: The owner has the worst manners I’ve ever experienced in a business. Very bad customer service. I and everyone I know will never spend money in this business ever again.

Negative experience: How this place is even open is the question?? Upon entering, you're greeted by dogs sniffing at your feet and a smell that will knock you back out the door!! Customer service was like an ex inmate was running the place. People do reform, but working in customer service, your communication skills should be a little more polished. The fish particularly was not taken very good care of.. in short, i would look for a more reliable and reputable business.

Positive experience: New owners have done a wonderful job updating the shop. They have a wide variety of animals and plants, and the hours are convenient. They have live feeders!

Negative experience: Pets world is the worst pet store ever the owners are so unprofessional and don't care about the customers

Negative experience: They are kind people but if I'm being honest their main pet they offer is snakes and I worry about the rest. In the snake room they have a whole wall of live feeder rodents and these feeder rodents are actual pets themselves. Fancy rats, mice, and they even offer illegal feeders as well. They feed the snakes live feeders where as most places humanely put the feeders to sleep first. The feeders are not well taken care of and multiple times I saw them eating their own babies and i question if they are breeding them themselves. They are also kept in fishtanks and are over crowded with no food or water access just bedding that's it. Again they are meant to be pets not feeders themselves. The people I repeat are very nice I don't know if they just are unaware or in need of the money and more resources as to who are reputable breeders of feeders. The store also has a foul smell. Below is a short clip of a Natal Multimammate aka ASF African Soft Fur which is illegal to have in Georgia dead or alive. See how sweet he is. It broke my heart. Unfortunately he had a upper respiratory infection and even with antibiotics he died. They are not made for Georgia's Climate. I loved him to pieces.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and great animals to see and purchase. I come here regularly for feeder mice. They're reasonably priced & they have friendly, cute, small dogs skittering around.

Fantastic experience: Honestly when it comes to pets, this is the place to go I've been going since the new owners took over. I've watched them turn a regular ole pet store, into what I considered a pet home/hotel/superstore, not only do they care about their animals they have a deeper relationship with their customers. If they don't have it in there store at the moment, they will go out of there way to get you what you want/desire within legal limits of course. But they definitely deserve a 5star rating, And they will get it from me for sure.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing!!! I actually volunteer here and the people are so nice I love working with the animals. And it might not smell the best but all the animals are very well kept and nothing goes to waste.

Negative experience: I was looking for a cockatiel to add to my flock and someone saw the store and told me I should check it out. I literally walked in and the stench drove me right back out…It smelled HORRID. The cockatiels looked unkempt, some of them appeared to be dirty, and there was obviously no broom in the store as there were tons of seeds and other things on the floor that should’ve been swept. I literally held my breath for about 10-15 seconds b4 I walked out. I did not even make it 10 feet into the store.

Negative experience: They need to listen to their reviews, they don't take care of most of the animals in their especially the fish tanks or the bearded dragons. And the complaints about the stench in there are understatements.

Fantastic experience: I only go here to get my reptile's food. The staff is super nice and very helpful

Fantastic experience: This is my favorite pet store! I LOVE COMING HERE!!! I’ve been coming here for a few years now. I will not buy my pets from any other pet store. The guys really care about the pets they have. They are very well educated on all the animals they have and more. All my pets I’ve gotten from this store have been very healthy. The guys keep the store looking neat and clean. The animals in the store always look well cared for. The prices are very reasonable also. I have compared their prices to other pet stores and their prices are the best. They also have awesome accessories for all different pets, from cages, pet bowls, heating lamps, bedding, leashes, fish tanks and the list goes on. OMYGOODNESS and the fish they have are absolutely amazing!!! From the size of a dime to as big as a 55 gallon tank! They have fish that are actually as long as a 55 gallon tank!!! If you’re looking to buy a healthy pet, to bond with and have a good long life span, this is the place to come. If your in need of any educational information or resources this is the place to come. If you want to visit a nice clean pet store and see healthy happy animals this is the place to come. I have gotten quite a few pets from them and I am in love with all my fur babies!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Negative experience: If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. They don't deserve even a single point of good ratings. We came in a couple weeks ago to browse; wanting to look at their selection. We were left disgusted and appalled by this place. The moment you walk in, you're met with parrots that have obvious neurological issues, used puppy pads in almost every corner, the horrible stench of ammonia. Upon further inspection, most of the fish tanks are horribly kept and horribly taken care of / cleaned(or rather, not clean). and the reptiles were abysmal. We saw several dead animals in this store, illegal reptiles as well. Most of the species that NEED heat and UVB (like bearded dragons) did not have what they needed. Everything was kept in confinements that were WAY too small, almost none had water or clean cages. I just can't get over the sheer amount of dead animals in this pet store. It was as if they'd simply forgotten they existed. Would not recommend any animal lover set foot in here.

Negative experience: Legit as soon as I walked in the smell nearly burnt my nosehairs off. It was very very dirty, the animals are not taken care of properly and I saw a dead dwarf hamster still up for sale in the store. It left me depressed and in shock.

Negative experience: The smell and the lack of animal knowledge is sad. They had heat lamps on crested geckos, HEAT LAMPs. I love crested geckos and other lizards so seeing them miss kept is crazy. I seen one die in front of me in there and the other was in stuck shed. Not misting like they should just bad. Over priced on everything. Fish tanks nasty smh. Water green and disgusting. The smell…it was ammonia and feces in the air. No UVB light on bearded dragons. I asked to work there to help bring the store up but they refused to hire bc not getting alot of money. That was a sign to me they they knew nothing about reptiles.

Positive experience: Stinky. Flies on flies BUT they had what I needed with cute rabbits and dope snakes!!‍♀️

Negative experience: Smelly, inadequate enclosures, and over crowded. There was one person I noticed to be an employee, and he walked away to the back of the shop where i couldn’t reach him. Apparently my bf saw someone else that worked there, and I walked right by him without noticing because he had his head down in his phone. If they paid well I'd go in and take care of whatever I can. Cleaning being the main thing and giving those poor snakes have even a little enrichment. I left feeling sad for the animals and dissatisfied with the service.

Positive experience: Pet world has snakes ,birds, rabbits ,Guinea pigs ,fish and bearded dragons at reasonable price.

Fantastic experience: I frequent this store at least twice a month. They have a selection that you would never see available at to big box stores. Very nice vatiety of species. (i wish i would see the reptiles in the back but i don't do spiders ), but i know some people do. I get all my feeder mice, fish and cherry shrimp from them. Very friendly and great customer service. Its also been great seeing where they started and how far they have come and still growing. I will always support this small business and can't wait to see them grow even larger.

Fantastic experience: I love this store. I searched all over and was driving 90 minutes to get food for my snakes. These guys have a cleaner and better shop with a better selection and knowledgeable staff and only 20 minutes away. I highly recommend if you're Southside and have exotic pet needs

Fantastic experience: Everything we go in here I find something new to take home. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. They helped us get my new addition to eat after 3 week and our old snake had her first live creature there. Can't wait to go back and find something else to bring home maybe butterfly fish or featherfin.

Most of the time the size I need is there but I have had many days where it wasnt. They crew here is very helpful. I like them. Cool ppl. They definitely help answer all the questions you have.

Fantastic experience: This place has been around for a very long time and I can appreciate how it remains the same as the new owners took over.

Negative experience: They sold me a sick Central American boa which has some type of disease which spread to my Columbia red tail that I had for about 3 years with no problem. Now my Colombian is dead. On top of that they Colombian spread it to the central amaerican they swapped out. When I asked about the original Central American they told me it recovered under there care which was a lie and it had died. They have no idea what they were doing telling me it was dehydrated but they were getting all there info off google just as I did.

Fantastic experience: Every time I visit. Which is at least one a week. I’m always more then satisfied with the stick of fish and quality. I always learn something new. And they have something for all animals. I definitely recommend Pet World Inc.

Fantastic experience: I love to visit here! You can find so many display pets for you to adopt. Likes there's... guneia pigs, gilberts, snakes, lizards, fish and catfish, rabbits and bunnies, birds look-a-like parrots too! I come here everyday because PetSmart I was unable to find anything for reptiles there. But, Pets World had it all. Thanks for my father recommending this place and I have to say that this was amazing. I was actually scared when the man always opens the crickets or spiders box full of crickets (or spiders) lol I would just run away. It's cheap also.

Negative experience: They mistreat their animals! All of the animals in there are in the same 10 gallon tank, and there's no food or water in those tanks. There was no heating lamps above the snakes and lizards, and it was cold in the lizard room! Going in there made me sick, as no animal (not even mice!) deserves this treatment.

Positive experience: I have been shopping here for 7 years. And the only time I've been disappointed was twice. I don't blame Mr Joe, and I still keep shopping there. I will drive from Oxford just to get my supplies. I love this store not the prices but the people (family) that works there are super nice. Even the grand kids

Positive experience: Staff is friendly, I know it's a pet store for live feed- BUT it could be kept cleaner for that reason. Smells awful and they handle live mice with no gloves and proceed to touch everything else after- though sanitizer is right there.

Negative experience: Firstly, was almost knocked out by the smell. Lady was real nice, but all the animals are not in adequate enclosures, are overcrowded or sharing space with decomposing space-mates. Noticed a purple slime roughly an inch thick in the bottom of a fish tank and told my significant other that we would not be purchasing anything from there. I do not recomend this store for any reason other than it is a small business. I could not in good mind put any of these fish in a home aquarium because I wouldn't want my fish getting ill.
