Fantastic experience: I purchased 5 quality platys and some Xtreme flakes. I am satisfied with the service I received. The worker answered all of my questions and was very knowledgable. The fish after one month are doing great!!!!

Fantastic experience: stopped by heading back from the aquarium (i’m from out of town). Loved the layout of the store, it was tidy and all the fish were easy to walk around and see. They had great bundle deals on numerous fish that I ended up buying 15. will definitely be back when i’m in the area.

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst customer experience of my life from the owners themselves… have spent at least 5k at the store over the years. Was sold product guaranteed to be compatible by the longtime merchandiser, was eaten, not compatible, died (he stated Tanganyika cichlids would not eat the $40 large shrimp I bought) . Owners told me to go shop somewhere else when I asked for some type of return. No accountability. I suggest 7 seas in San Pedro for better prices, better customer service. 1707 S Gaffey St, San Pedro, CA 90731. As a long time customer, for convenience only, don’t waste your time at this place. They’re only about sales, they don’t care about you. Very clear

Positive experience: Wide selection of supplies, plants and fish. The health of the fish can vary quite a bit though so it's still important to look closely to make sure what you buy is as healthy as possible.

Positive experience: I love this place always have a large quantity of fish to choose from and supplies I'm sure you'll agree once you visit.

Negative experience: Got some plants from them and they gave my tank new zealand mud snails. They are a highly invasive freshwater snail that destroys ecosystems in the US and are impossible to get rid of. DO NOT by plants here and if you have, make sure you don't end up flushing and of these snails or they'll infect the waterways here!

Negative experience: I gave this place a one star, I went to purchase fish. I was waiting to get help while the employee help others. I kept waiting as other customers came by and the employee help them, I was waiting a long time and no help. I left the store immediately after that. Customer service at its finest.

Negative experience: they sell fish with diseases knowingly and wont take responsibility, had an ich outbreak with the only 2 fish i own, bought from here

Fantastic experience: New to keeping fish, was looking for a new local fish store to help me out in what I need and someone to ask questions about maintaining these fish. Marcus in the back is always very helpful when asking a million questions about each fish I was interested in and Scott the owner was also very kind and down to earth. Would recommend if looking for a new shop.

Fantastic experience: I’m tardy on this review. I have enjoyed coming here to buy supplies for my goldfish. I even bought a lovely goldfish (pronoun: she) and she has been a great companion to our goldfish (pronoun: he). The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and just overall nice. I received a lot of great feedback and advice on how to care for our fish tank!!! Love this place. Let me not forget the sweetest dog that you may encounter when visiting the shop!

Fantastic experience: Went here on a whim to kill some time, came out with some fish to increase schooling size. They had great deals on some select fish, a lot cheaper than some lfs that I have been to that week. Was able to score some green neon tetras and strawberry rasboras. They also carried some plants as well, but mainly easy to care for and not any that required high tech lights. Will come back again if I ever need to restock.

Negative experience: Went here to support local businesses rather than a conglomerate pet store. I went out of my way to go here because I don't live near by. I purchased 2 live plants and 2 mystery snails.i was busy with my 3 kids to check what they gave me, i was more worried about my kids knocking something over since it's a bit crowded in the store, so I trusted them to give me quality (since the store looks great). Unfortunately when I arrived to home to put it on my new tank I noticed 1 of the plants was in bad condition and 1 of the snails was not ok. It's been almost a week since the purchase and that snail is not doing ok, won't move and does not come out of shell (it's just dying I think). I won't return to the store because it's too far for me & $10 is not worth the waste of gas. Long story short: check your purchases before leaving the store if you go here.

Positive experience: Pretty good place. They have the best deals on live plants. Fish prices are slightly higher than other places I've been to but when the sales are there it's worth it.

Fantastic experience: What a cool fish store ! I was waiting for tacos next door so I'm mozied on into this fish store and that was so cool. This fish store was very clean and the fish were feeding. They all look very healthy and I saw starfish and they sold coral. I would definitely recommend taking a peek in here if you're waiting for your food. And although I didn't buy a fish, they looked happy and healthy. So I would had I been in the market for one

Negative experience: They sold us fresh water instead of salt water, tank crashed, Evan the owner refused to help us. Very rude and not at all interested in customer service.

Negative experience: Finaly got more fish to stock my 29 gallon tank. In quarantine process. I Lost all 13 of my guppies from parasites that they sold me with. Never shopping here again

Fantastic experience: There are at least three aquarium stores closer to me than this one, and I go out of my way to go to this one. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and there's always someone available ready and willing to assist you with whatever you need. It's clean and well organized, and they have a beautiful and plentiful collection of fresh and saltwater fish. An added bonus, there's even sometimes an adorable dog in there named Hunter.

Negative experience: They seem really over priced for the quality of the fish, not usually helpful, and will turn you away at the door, even of you're having an emergency with you're tank 2 minutes before closing. There are far better shops around.

Positive experience: Nice store. Great tank selection and good fresh water fish but the saltwater selection is a little minimum. It would be great to add more nice reef fish.

Negative experience: Bought a Clown Pleco from here. Not only did the Pleco die, within a week all of my healthy fish were sickened with Ick (fungal) and Columnaris (bacterial) wiping out my entire tank that had been established for close to a year. Should have known given the dead fish in store but decided to trust the high Google reviews. Would not recommend ever getting live fish from here.

Fantastic experience: Great shop with a large variety of fresh water and marine fish, along with plants and coral. The fish are always in good health and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices may be slightly higher than Petsmart, but you know you are getting a healthy animal and expert service.

Fantastic experience: New tanks at the entrance on the left and all fish in the back straight ahead as you enter and that beautiful fresh water tank is your guide. Corals towards the right from the entrance and a big salt water tank asking for attention, right infront of the cashier too which is perfect because you get to sweet talk these guys lol. Further to to the right koi fish pond. but they indeed come through with some of the best and hard to find pieces. Service could be better and they could make a little more effort in negotiating especially if you bring in cash. You don't really feel it here. But overall that shouldn't effect the rating at all they deserve the 5. Thank you guys again for contributing to my parents tank. The 4 focus shots are what Strictly Fish provided.

Fantastic experience: This place is THE BEST! Wonderful customer service and their fish are the best quality. I have never had any issues with illness or dead fish. I have a pleco I bought there 8 years ago and a gourami 6 years ago and they are both still alive. Please support this small/local fish store rather than Petco etc. They really care about the fish and their customers.

Fantastic experience: Ive been looking into buying cichlids. This place is the bomb. They knowledgeable and place is super clean along the fish are super healthy. A bit on the pricey side but id rather pay the extra $$$ for a great bunch of guys who know what they are talking about .

Positive experience: Strictly fish is a decent store, the store is okay but they follow me around like I'm a thief going to steal something and I don't very much care for that. I don't steal and this store is really small so it makes you feel very uncomfortable that they do that. If they're that worried about people stealing from them than they should invest in a security system instead of follow their customers around like we're criminals or something. That makes me not want to go there at all. They really need lighten up cuz it doesn't feel good to be treated like that at all. I'm going there to spend money in their store so they should be appreciative instead of treat me like I'm a criminal or something

Fantastic experience: I have a mbuna cichlid tank and this is the only place I know of that has a variety of fish especially harder to find fish that you dont see at every lfs. I drive from Whittier to Strictly for that reason. I've been shopping with them off and on since they were in Orange County, I've gone from fresh to salt and even to keeping both. I always can find a fish that other places normally don't carry or even corals. Anyhow, right now I am just keeping cichlids and Strictly is my go to LFS. I found two beautiful mbuna today that were healthy and ate right away when I placed them in my tank. You are always greeted when you go in and are told if you need anything let me know. I don't like being followed when I go shopping for fish I like to look at all the fish and take my time. That's why I like going to strictly. Well that and they always have nice healthy fish.

Negative experience: The guy that was in the front wasn't very friendly (older guy). He kept telling me to ask the guys in the back when I had questions, then I asked a girl that had on a strictly fish shirt a question and she told me, "I don't know ask one of the guys". She was not rude but I kept having to ask many people around to get some help.

Positive experience: Reasonably priced fish stock and equipment. Their tanks are pretty expensive though.

Fantastic experience: We have a 125 gallon from Strictly and loaded it with a ton of cool fish and products. We you ask to see a cat fish, they show you 10 different kinds from cheap to rare. The reward program is great and you often have cash waiting there for you. The three owners (are all knowledgeable and friendly). Great fish shop!

Negative experience: Most of the fish are high on price even the small fish which shouldn’t be like that, the only problem here is out of all fish stores we have to pay taxes here when it’s time to pay, i realized I was paying $10-$15 dollars of just tax for every purchased I was making, and other fish stores have a flat rate no matter what so if you’re trying to save some extra cash I don’t recommend you coming here, definitely not me.

Negative experience: We bought a lobster, and started to leave it do other things and after when we checked again it was upside down and dead. They also are helpful but not really.
