Go Fish Education Center

Fantastic experience: Hidden gem, this place is not advertised. The inside of the museum was lacking as many of the interactive displays didn't work. However, just step outside to a peaceful oasis where the aquariums are! So wonderful! And they have fishing poles with bait available at the pond so you can fish. My granddaughter and I enjoyed it as neither of us had ever fished. I definitely will go back again!

Fantastic experience: This was a great stop with the kids on a road trip. There is an excellent combination of indoor exhibits (hunting games, fishing simulation, mounted fish), live aquarium fish inside and outside, a peek at the hatchery, and the coup de gras, a well stocked fishing pond with free poles and bait for the kids (and adults) to use. My kids caught their first fish here which got them really excited about fishing.

Fantastic experience: Super cute activity for my 6 and 8 year olds. There is an outdoor aquarium exhibit section and also a place where you can try to catch actual fish. Lots of educational content. Definitely worth the drive.

Fantastic experience: We had a great time. My kids loved looking at the different fish in the exhibits and we even caught three bluegill in the pond.

Fantastic experience: Visited on Oct 14th. Kids had a fun time with the fishing simulator. My daughter preferred the outdoor aquariums while my son had more fun at the casting pond.

Fantastic experience: I'm falling more in love with Middle GA with every little piece I find. This is definitely a gem for the kids or if you want practice angling for yourself and the kids. They provide bait and reels or bring your own. My daughter brought hers. It is also a museum with interesting tidbits about fisheries and wildlife. It's well maintained, clean and inviting atmosphere. Enjoy.

Fantastic experience: Such an awesome place! So educational and interactive! The grandbabies (Papa & Nannie too!) Had so much fun and learned a lot too! The employees were so knowledgeable and super nice. When we went to the gift shop everything and I mean everything in their big inventory was very reasonable and affordable to get all the grandbabies a couple if items each. Amazing place and amazing people!!!

Positive experience: This place has really good potential. The outdoor sections including the aquariums with the various species of fish and turtles and alligators, etc. was fantastic. The fishing pond experience was really nice, especially for small children. The indoor portion is good, but definitely needs some maintenance since about half of the interactive features were broken or malfunctioning. And honestly, the interactive game where you shoot and kill a bear and watch him die is probably a little over the top for small children. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for hunting. Just not black bears in Georgia.

Fantastic experience: This facility, hands down, is the best kept secret in all of Georgia. An incredible representation of the flora and fauna of Middle Georgia, and they provide rods, tackle, and bait (cut up hot dogs) with the cost of admission. The Shooting Room with 3 screens (6 laser shotguns, 2 per bay) is a welcome surprise that provides a ton of entertainment and gives the opportunity to also teach about gun safety in a safe/virtual environment. Every area needs one of these, but I'm so glad our region does within a 15 minute drive of home.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I stopped by on that way to savannah. Mainly to stretch our legs. It was fun we enjoyed all the activities they have. Everyone was friendly and no rush for anything . You guide yourself they have a gift shop. My favorite part of the trip was the hatchery . A nice man taking care of the baby sturgeons was very awesome I missed his name but he was awesome. Great place to visit. Great place for kids

Fantastic experience: Great place to visit that doesn't cost very much. If you go at the right time you are able to watch them feed the fish. They also offer classes, have a gift shop and provide a pole and bait to fish. The pond seems to stay stocked and is fairly easy to catch a fish.

Fantastic experience: Kids and I had fun. Some of the exhibits were not operational but otherwise imaginative, educational, and my daughter caught a pretty big 9ne in the pond. Her first fish and it wiggled the hook loose before she could land it. But it inspired her to keep going. Enjoyable!

Fantastic experience: The Go Fish center is educational and informative. My boys enjoyed the scavenger hunt and learning how to fish. The volunteer was very helpful. The volunteer stepped in when he saw my boys and I trying to figure out how to yes the fishing rods. We enjoyed our time at Go Fish. I would recommend to visiting.

Positive experience: This place was a lot of fun! My wife caught her first fish and our kiddos had a blast. A few attractions were closed due to covid restrictions.

Fantastic experience: It's a must go! Me and my parents go here every weekend, and for a good reason! Go fish has : A pond full of brim, catfish, rainbow trout, and silver bass/hybrid striped bass. The fish really bite! A mini aquarium, hatery, simulaters, and MUCH more.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely adore this place! They have so much information, exhibits and displays! During Christmas I volunteered and took photos of families with snorkeling santa and his elf! During the year many schools participate in field trips here and the kids always have a blast. Not only can they learn the waterways of Georgia and what is in them, but they also teach them to fish! Check this place out you will not regret it! With location on the same property as the Perry fairgrounds it's easy to get to!

Fantastic experience: The Go Fish Education Center is awesome. It's not very much to get in, the staff is knowledgeable and everyone is so nice. We've been going for about three years now. The toad-ally toddlers program was great when my little girl was 2-3. The ladies are so sweet with them. Now that she's 5 we're excited to start going to the homeschooling programs! There's fishing simulators, hunting games, obviously fish to look at and you can fish too! My 2 year old particularly loves the big colorful fish display on the wall and the stuffed bear. My five year old loves the alligators, she says they're her finds because they smile at her lol ❤️ don't forget to check out the sturgeons, they are fun to watch "dance" around. Oh and their gift shop is super cute and very affordable.

Fantastic experience: We came on a field trip and everyone had fun. The fishing was well stocked and the exhibits were interesting.

Fantastic experience: This place was amazing! They had many kid friendly activities. There was also many educational areas to learn about Georgia aquatic wildlife. They had a saltwater and freshwater fishing simulator, a brim fishing pond (with free rod and bait you can use), shooting simulators, and many other things. The staff was friendly and informative and everything was clean and working great. It was definitely worth the money ($5 for kids 3-12 $7 for older plus a senior discount for anyone 65 and older).

Fantastic experience: This place is not just an aquarium it is also very educational. Really shows you just how vast Georgia is in regards to wildlife zones. There are a few games for kids and adults that are pretty fun. You can fish out back in a 3/4 acre pond. They have a lot going on in the hatchery lab off to the side too (you can watch through the windows). They are currently working with small mouth bass and lake sturgeon projects. The staff and DNR personnel are great people too.

Fantastic experience: Great Place for the family. Fun and educational for kids. We found out about this from some of our family up here in Warner Robins now we take the kids everytime we come. They love to go fishing in the pond and look at all the aquariums.

Negative experience: Money stolen from public schools to give sunny Perdue some crummy hillbilly rest stop off the interstate

Fantastic experience: This is a small Ga aquarium super fun for the kids make sure to bring a folding chair for the back area so you can fish they have poles and bait. The money made goes to helping stock fish into rivers and lakes around ga. Colder months have trout most of the time they have catfish and brim to fish for.

Fantastic experience: I am not a fishermen (fisherlady?). However the exhibits and interactive displays were eye opening. I learned about how and why we must respect and take care of our environment; the land, bodies of water, and the wild life; but mostly about fish and the sport of fishing. It's the type of place everyone can enjoy and expand their knowledge and appreciation for it. The employees are wonderful. You can sit on a bench and fish on the premises, have a picnic, and be alone with nature. I have a new found respect for the sport. Take your friends, family, employees and co-workers. I am sure they will enjoy it too. I got my fishing license the day I visited!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Fish Facility !!! Best DNR Exhibit ,which happens to be in the Heart of Middle Ga, Perry (Houston Co), Ga. Habitats are excellently built and should be the envy of every DNR in the Nation ! Definitely worth a look and will make your child's ( i.e.Grandchild's/children's)Day !

Fantastic experience: Visited the toad-ally toddler program, slithering snakes this morning with two year old granddaughter. Just excellent! Presentation was fun and interactive, while allowing for short attention spans! The toddler activity room was fun activities, age appropriate and easy to participate. Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Great educational resource for GA! Two tips: 1) bring actual bait (they provide hotdogs and those fish are very good at not getting hooked), you can even bring your own rod or use their loaners. 2) there are three hunting simulators in a side-room (weird, as it's a fishing resource); the freshwater and saltwater simulators pull HARD!

Fantastic experience: I had a blast throwing the hook out on the water. If you have a young kid who wants to fish this is a good place to start. The facility has poles rigged up, they provide bait but I recommend you bring your own.

Fantastic experience: We took our 2 year old son out there today for the first time to be part of the Toadally toddlers wildlife education series. It was an amazing experience, we got there a little early and checked out the rest of the facility... so much to do, hunting simulators, fishing pond with bait and rod provided, information on Georgia's Watershed, fishing simulators, understanding fishing equipment and the differences between types of lures and jigs... I wish places like this existed when I was a kid

Fantastic experience: It was really fun people were catching 5 pound catfish and nice size bass and lots of brim it was really cool and that provide bait and poles that are all really nice that all so have lot of fish from all over Georgia and that have game and that show the things that live with the fish so all and all it's a family friendly place and I hope to go really soon
