Fantastic experience: It's so rare to find someone so enthused and dedicated in the hobby. It had been 15+ years since I had aquariums and I could tell the owner (I assume) was initially hesitant. It must be exhausting to have enthusiastic newbies who have no idea what they're doing cold start tanks with your stock you, CLEARLY, work so hard to keep healthy. As soon as I asked open questions and asked for guidance, things immediately clicked. I had made some fish selections for my starter tank based on commonly used fish (hello chili raspboras), but asked the guy what he would recommend. His choice of fish for me was 100% better and far more beautiful. I'm already planning my return trip to Spokane just to get more. I remember my cichlids and discus tanks and his cichlid care and variety is enviable. He had some cichlids coloured up that nearly took my breath away and had me planning another tank (because fish are worse than Pringles). Clearly he puts his effort and time into the health and beauty of his fish. He gave me the space and time I needed to have fun, but also was attentive and helpful when I had, admittedly, newb questions. PEOPLE. GO VISIT THE LITTLE SHOPS. This is where you can feel the hobby really come alive for someone. Their tastes and enthusiasm is unique and infectious. I live 2 hours from Spokane and have him on my agenda for my next trip up. Thank you for the Blue Neons! You were so right. I should have gotten double the number I did. Keep up the great work! P.S. Allot yourself an extra hour just to spend on the wood pile.

Fantastic experience: Carries a lot of different species of tetra, has some great saltwater displays and a tank with discus which was a nice surprise. Great supplies as far as substrate, wood, plants and rock. Has a variety of foods as well.

Negative experience: Horrible experience fish died quickly funny my fish from other stores have survived perfectly!!! The other BIG problem is whoever the old man was helped me had no patience for my seven year old son and would make faces and grunt and was just rude in general. The gal behind the counter was too big to get up off her ass and help either. But because he had no patience. My son asked what his deal was after we left. Horrible wasted money the fish died and horrible customer service!!!!!

I came in feeling a little overwhelmed with my fish tank setup, but they spent nearly an hour walking me through everything—step by step—with zero judgment and the kindest attitude. The advice they gave me was incredibly helpful, and they genuinely cared about making sure I understood how to properly care for my tank and fish. On top of that, their tanks are the cleanest and most well cared for of any I’ve seen. You can tell they put a lot of love and attention into both their animals and their shop. I left feeling confident, supported, and so grateful. It’s rare to find people this genuine and helpful. Highly, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I was so excited to go here. The fish tanks are well taken care of. Lots of selection. The best part was the knowledge and help from the people who work there. Every question was answered with patience. Did spend much there but it didn't change how willing they were to help us. They definitely wanted to make sure the fish was a good fit for us and the best situation for the fish. Can't wait to visit again.

Positive experience: We found "treasures" here. Sweet little mini fish. Blue eyed & blue neons. Nice plants & very cool wood pieces & nice rock for our aquariums. They were busy, but the guys were working quickly to help everyone with their purchases. Thank you. We hope to enjoy our selections for a long time. Fantastic experience: Best selection of both freshwater and salt water fish in town! Also very friendly staff and they don’t mind if you’re just there to admire the collection of fish and corals. I’d recommend to all aquarium lovers.

Negative experience: Nice store and selection. Prices are a little high. When i came in I told the guy that I knew nothing really and he didn't seem to care to educate. He seemed like he either didn't care to be there, care to help me in particular or overwhelmed by 10 people walking around in the store. $160 for 8 fish, 4 shrimp and a few plants. Won't be returning.

Fantastic experience: First impression over the phone, Bobby was patient and let me know about there driftwood in store, then when we came into the store, to my suprise is was BUSY I was taken back by how busy they were, even then they still where helping me and others, let us mock up some of there largest driftwood to be sure its what we wanted. Store smells good, tanks are extremely well kept, great product selection from beginners to more advanced. All around fantastic place and we will be back.

Fantastic experience: This person working today was so helpful with assisting me to select a new type of fish for my aquarium based on what I needed. Beyond that, I havent seen so many species of fish sold in a fish store in this region and was so glad to see they stocked multiple kinds of neocaridina shrimp, aquatic wood & various hardscaping stones. I was genuinely impressed with how clean the fishtanks were all kept!

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy I came here to get my bristlenose pleco! The owner kindly educated me on the care for my new addition and was happy to answer my questions. He also told me that she could eat zucchini! Here she is a couple months later in her 40 gal tank happy, healthy, and enjoying her zucchini. She is the coolest fish ever and I can’t wait to come back when I start another tank

Fantastic experience: Fish world seems to be a genuinely good fish store. They have beautiful stock and so far all have been very healthy. We got a several cardinal tetras. First they are crazy vivid beautiful. All the Cardinals survived and are doing great. Tonight we picked up a pair of Apistogramma Cacatuoides. So far so good.

Fantastic experience: Nice clean LFS. Good prices, selection and the fish are well kept. Lots of plants! Much rather spend my money here than corporate run stores that don't care about the pets or employees.

Fantastic experience: Love this local fish shop. Always has so many fresh and salt water fish and invertebrates to choose from and its not petco and locally owned by a nice family. If you need fish, skip petco and go check these guys out!

Fantastic experience: As someone who's big on betta fish, this is a great place to look. All bettas are in actual tanks (not cups!), and healthy fins. Bought my girl two years ago and she's been happy and healthy ever since!

Fantastic experience: Really nice place, got 3 Albinos and a Sterbai Cory! They are doing really well and acclimated quickly! The only bummer is they never answer their phone nor email :(

Negative experience: No one else at the store when we walked in and the employee working begrudgingly removed his headphones and then without greeting us just stood behind the register loudly drumming with no rhythm using pens. Most of the tanks were definitely nasty. My nine year old son just got a new tank for his birthday but left empty handed from this “store” after zero help from the employee on duty. We needed everything from gravel and decor to plants and fish… guess we’ll take our business elsewhere. Not sure how this place is even still in business if this is how they treat potential customers. *Edit to reply* thanks for the well wishes, we drove less than 10 minutes down the road and spent hundreds of dollars at your competitor where we were greeted immediately upon entering, helped with every aspect of our aquarium, and felt like there was a human that actually wanted to help us. Good luck with your store though.

Fantastic experience: Went to this store in hopes of finding bulk fish food pellets for my pond fish. They had bags but nothing like what I need. The owner suggested another place to check and then GAVE ME a bag of food to tide me over!! Ya coulda knocked me over with a feather!! What a sweet and generous man. Totally unexpected and much appreciated!! I will not forget your generosity and kindness to me! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Super nice and knowledgeable father and son. Great store with familiar as well as unique fish. They were very knowledgeable about setting up my beginner tank and the best fish to choose for a peaceful coexistence. Although the prices are higher than than the chain stores, it is well worth it for the healthy stock and guaranteed satisfaction. Fun to just walk through even if not purchasing. They also sell aquatic plants.

Fantastic experience: Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I went there to buy a Bristlenose Picostamus and they had a huge selection to choose from. Also they can order pretty much any fish you might be looking for. The tanks were clean and all the fish seemed very happy and healthy. I would recommend this store to anyone in the fish tank community.

Fantastic experience: Very knowledgeable father and son owners, and the hired help is awesome too! Prices are amazing and they run raffles and giveaways! If nothing else, I knew immediately their store was going to be awesome when I first walked in as the tanks were all clean and filled unlike big chain or other aquarium supply stores. They have some of the most exotic locally owned salt setups that I have ever seen. I will be back to support this local small business, because they are doing what they love and giving people the best prices they can for superior quality. As a small business owner from a different area that has the same business ethics and methodology/mentality, its nice to see that there are still other places out there doing the same! Also, standing in line and waiting is a great thing, it means many people rely on and trust this business. There is plenty to look at while you wait!

Positive experience: Wonderful and well taken care of fish, plants, shrimp, snails with staff that are highly knowledgeable. A perfect place to begin your home aquatic adventures or to enhance, even the most talented of aquarium enthusiasts, one's current set-up. Occasionally, the store is so busy that it takes an extended amount of time to receive service.

Fantastic experience: Very clean tanks they definitely take care of their inventory, knowledgeable although not so much sociable. I wish they had a bigger selection of frags or coral in general it's hard to tell what's really for sale and what's for display. But everything they do have is super healthy and you can tell that there's a lot of knowledge behind it. I feel like if they could dedicate a 60 cube or something similar to a small area and have a selection of frags like some of the box stores do as there's a need for it in Spokane. Probably a pipe dream but it would be amazing if they could get one of the properties on either side of them and turn that into a coral side of the store after all the you are the only real game in town and they could take it to the next level.

Positive experience: Just wasn't impressed with the customer service. Maybe the fella was having a day, idk.... anyhow, probably won't be back. They do have some very beautiful tanks, though.

Fantastic experience: Super nice people, really clean tanks and healthy looking fish. They helped me by taking fish that I bought from another store. As it turns out, big brand fish stores don't know how big plecos can get. The owner put them in a tank with their kind, and offered them some wafers to help them adjust. I'll definitely go back when I have fish tank needs.

Positive experience: I recently discovered this place and I have to say I'm pretty impressed overall. I would never buy from local stores in Spokane or Spokane valley in the past because their tanks were dirty their employees were sitting behind a desk getting fatter everyday acted like they didn't want to help you never saw anybody cleaning a tank and every tank was dirty and filthy but not this place. The tanks are well maintained and you can tell that an effort is put in with knowledge on how to properly run a fish store. They're large tank is amazing and is a testament to their ability to give good advice and sell a great product hands down the best fish store that I have been to for salt water in all of Washington State.

Fantastic experience: Wide variety of "healthy" fish for everyone from salt water to fresh! You may need to wait a bit if it's busy, but it's fun to look at the wide variety of fish while you do! Family owned and run, everyone is knowledgeable, friendly, and will take whatever time needed to help with your aquarium needs.

Fantastic experience: Great store, I've been going back throughout the month and grabbing things here and there. So far I have Pea Puffers, Tetras, Guppies, and shrimp. All these fish are healthy and happy. You can tell they are very well taken care of. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly. Pea Puffers have now become a HUGE passion of mine. I am Obsessed with these aggressive little crazies. Love this store. 10/10 recommend

Negative experience: Very unfortunately, I have not had a positive experience purchasing here. The plants are always infested with snails. I recently purchased guppies to put in my 25 Gallon aquarium, one of the new guppies, died after a day, was a bummer, but sometimes that hapens. Then one of my original guppies fell ill, then another, I tested my water levels, everything was good and as normal. So I decided to water change 75%, used a small dose of fluval bio start, water levels are good, another one of my original guppies passed this morning. I started with 4 fish, purchased 4 more now I have the same number I started with, and I expect to have 0 by the end of the month. Very disappointed...

I love the red sailfin corydoras and blue phantom pleco. I also bought some hillstream loaches here that were very big compared to what you normally see.

Fantastic experience: Really great selection of healthy fish (marine and fresh water) and plants. One of the only places in town to get black worms too! The shop is greatly "fixed up" over the last owner. Check their hours before you go.

Fantastic experience: Amazing LFS has a ton to pick from and the best Ocho stone selection in town. Today we got some celestial pearl danios and dwarf platys to brighten up our tank, and orange shrimp to clean our newest build

Fantastic experience: By far the best place to buy fish. They don't have a huge selection of hardware, but that's fine because they're clearly focused on the health if the fish. The tanks are beautifully maintained and you'd be hard pressed to find a dead or sickly looking fish in the store from what I can tell. Good variety too. The ornamental betta they have are absolutely stunning.

Fantastic experience: Great fish store, clean and healthy fish. These guys know how to take care of fish. I have raised fish for over 20yrs and this is my new favorite fish store. They get rare fish in and they have a nice selection of wood for decorating your tank. Rare colors of Bettas too.

Fantastic experience: Never seen so many sparkling clean tanks in one place! The fish are obviously well cared for, healthy, and energetic. The store carries an excellent selection of both fresh and saltwater livestock, as well as a few essential pieces of equipment and decor.

Fantastic experience: I got 3 Cory cats. VERY healthy. Stress free catch, which is so important. All good. Also found a great chunk of wood at a reasonable price. I will be back.
