Fantastic experience: Small store, but loaded with a variety of items and the people that work there are friendly and knowledgeable.

Positive experience: It’s been a year since I left my one star review. I’ve been back a few times and I’m happy to say that the Owners took my review to heart and the place stays clean, the Fish look happy, and the customer service was great, thank you, Lotus aquarium for taking the time to take care of not only the Fish environment But your customers as well, you are appreciated in a community. Oh yeah guys and the prices are great! I feel bad for the fish and coral that are subjected to the poor living conditions. Fish tanks are filthy, red slime on the rocks, and expired products. I say take your chances elsewhere rather than risking your whole tank becoming contaminated.

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing store. I have bought all of my fish stuff from here for over 3 years. I recently had a Betta fish that I've had for 1.5 years get really sick. I went there and they were very kind and understanding and gave me two medications. They worked quickly and now it is better. Thanks lotus aquarium!

Negative experience: This store sells fish with ich as long as the customers are distracted and not aware of it. The main problem with me was the owner's lack of understanding and the negative attitude displayed during our conversation. They have good selections that will attract many customers in but their maintenance and care for these fishes are below subpar, they even have a message begging the customers to feed their fish because the owners are very very cheap. Cleanliness is non-existent at this store and cross contamination is evident by the ich infested tanks which can be seen across the store, they even place their quarantine tank right in the center of their display tanks with no sign of such. I recently went back and try to talk with the owner about the fish with ich i purchased in his store but the owner was so certain that he never sells fish with ich. it was hard to take him seriously when there were tanks with ich scattered all over his store. The business owner doubled down on his lies and told me to go elsewhere when i was planning to purchase some cory, making my long drive for a naught. Terrible behavior as a business owner

Fantastic experience: Came here to start the kiddo’s “ I want a pet betta fish phase” and Sergio Jr was super helpful and patient with us while we asked a MILLION questions. Ended up buying our entire set up and so glad we did since he made it so convenient for us. He was super honest with the pricing of everything and offering options that better suited our lifestyle and budget. This place was so great and def recommend to beginner fish owners!

Why be in the business of living organisms if you don't have appreciation for all creation? I guess some things are just about profit.

Fantastic experience: Lost of exotic fish. They mentioned to me there's also a process to order other types of fish if they don't have it in stock. Kinda small, so it can get crowded with just a few people there. There's parking/entrance around back if you can't park out front. I get sad/angry when I walk into a pet store(mostly chain stores) to find dead fish in the tank. Looks cheap and not a good sign you have healthy fish. Never a problem here tho. Always clean water and healthy looking fish.

Positive experience: This isn't the largest fish store I've ever been in nor the most organized or cleanest but all the fish seemed healthy and their prices were very reasonable. Got a few amano shrimp and otos for a good price. The shrimp have already cleared out some of the hair algae in my junk tank!

Positive experience: Lovely place just I little bit more expensive other close places. Never go when is busy, is a super small place and they don’t have enough employees.

Positive experience: Lots of happy fish. They fit a lot into a small footprint and have a nicely sized parking lot. The lady who checked us out and packed our fish took a lot of care with them and we loved the service. Update: within 48 hours, we had 2 shrimp, 2 cpd, 2 corydora die. They would be swimming around and eating and suddenly dead 15 minutes later without any obvious marks on their body. We called in hopes of a replacement/refund, but she said the fish in their store were still happy (or sold out) therefore it wasn't their fault. I'm sad that this happy memory has been tainted now. I hope the rest of my guys make it.

Fantastic experience: Employees were knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Great selection of freshwater fish, and some saltwater. We weren't there for supplies but noticed some. There were very few dead or unhealthy looking fish, in contrast to the place we visited just before Lotus. Would recommend and visit again. Update: Still great. We returned several months later; the fish we had previously purchased are doing well, and we bought a dozen more. The employees were helpful again. A sign out front requests face masks for customers, but that wasn't being enforced.

Positive experience: Could be a little friendlier. But that's just me, but i like this place its small but they have the expertise that you are looking for if your a beginner or expert with sea creatures and reptiles.

Fantastic experience: Good selection of fish, decor, and other supplies. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Have not restocked my 150G in a long time, but still have some aggressive Cichlids. Lotus was helpful to pick out some other community fish that will survive well.

Fantastic experience: I'm lucky enough to be a few blocks away. Lotus is a hole in the wall gem of a fish store. Just as much supply and equipment as a big store while having fish that most others don't. I've yet to have a fish or plant fail from this store. Here's my 5g nano I stocked from them.

Positive experience: Nice little spot w/ a big inventory even though the store has a small footprint. Can get a little busy on weekends, so weekdays are best if you want to walk around & ask questions. I have been here many times & service is usually very good. Beautiful display tanks to give you some ideas. Fish are usually healthy, though I did notice some dead pea puffers in a tiny tank. Was a bit disappointed because they have a ton of plants in many of their tanks, but a number of them are not for sale.

Fantastic experience: A very small store that has the healthiest tanks/fish I've seen. Plenty of hardscape materials as well. They even had a place where you can mock build hardscapes before you buy them. The small square footage of the store means not as much variety in terms of stock, but what they have is quality. Definitely will be going again!

Negative experience: If I were you, I’d look elsewhere. The staff seemed nice but the maintenance is horrifying. I left as soon as I looked around. The tanks appeared very murky, some had full fish skeletons which means it was picked at by their fish and remaining flesh were completely decomposed. Some of the fish were lethargic which makes me think their tanks are poorly maintained.

Fantastic experience: This is a great community Aquarium Store that goes above and beyond providing good service. I have slowly built a nano aquarium for my galaxy Koo betta I purchased there and it the best project I’ve enjoyed building. I also have a bigger tank. Both are great tanks thanks to Lotus Aquarium.

Fantastic experience: I live in Mid City Los Angeles, I was introduced to this shop by a friend who loves this place. I see why, after my first fish died, I wanted to be a better fish companion and perhaps give them More than food and crystal clear water. Obviously I needed to learn a thing or twelve about this hobby. Chris and Maria have helped me so much. I set up two new nano tanks. I super Excited and impressed with the stock and fish. They always have a line (it’s covid 19 time) and are still super patient and explain everything and answer all my questions. I’m happy my friend Argel introduced me. Fantastic experience: I called 5 paces before I found someone who had what I was looking for. Chris answered the phone and was super friendly, helpful, and got back to me right away after needing to look for something for me. He then delivered 2 beautiful little fish exactly on time. They have a great exchange policy for when my fish get to big for the tank. I can’t wait to actually visit them in person. Thanks for everything Chris!

Fantastic experience: Was looking for salt water supplies, she unfortunately didnt have. But she was very nice and helpful (I'm not from the area.) And even named her competition, as a place I should go for the certain things I needed. Very helpful. Could have just.told me no and turned me away.

Negative experience: They did not have a great selection of fish like Petco and they were way overpriced.

Positive experience: For sure quarantine your fish. I bought some fish and one of them didn't even make it home. I was impatient and added them to my tank anyway without quarantining. Big mistake! A week later all my fish are dead. My fault. The staff was helpful and the store was good for it's size (it's tiny) so they get 4 stars.

Fantastic experience: This aquarium shop is one of the best stores in the south bay. The owner, his wife, and the employees really care about what they sell. All fish tanks are planted, as they should be, and the fish are nearly all healthy. If they are not, they will inform you. You can spend a few hours looking at the fish and the tanks, and still not know what to buy because the displays make you think about the fish habitats. Owner is very knowledgeable, and will assist you with making the right purchases, not the most profitable. I have bought many fish from this shop, and none have become ill or died. This is a great place to chill and talk about fish. No pressure buying, and always great service.
