However, tanks are very clean and fish look healthy. In the end, you’re paying for the fish, not the ambience. Would definitely go back.

Fantastic experience: I always come here and buy giant blood worms for my cichlids. The place is very clean, and people are courteous. I always buy fish like guppies, pea puffer, apistogramma, and cichlids, all good quality freshwater fish.

Negative experience: What a waste of time … we went to the shop today to pick up 5 or 6 items and some fish. When we got there there was only one employee on the floor and a few customers waiting. I actually felt sorry for the guy because one particular customer he was attending to was really needy to say the least. We waited there for half an hour, as we were waiting more customers arrived, finally another employee shows up … he didn’t even bother asking “who’s next”, he just pick someone (who was one of the last people to come in the store), and started helping them leaving the rest of us slack jawed. I drove from Weston to the store because they had everything i needed, and the fish I wanted … yeah won’t be making that mistake again!!

Negative experience: I almost gave it 3 stars because they had a fish other stores didn't have. I waited 10 mins for the guy to acknowledge me because he was changing water so I was trying to let him finish. He acted annoyed, put the fish in the bag, ignored my excitement completely and checked me out. I thought it was a one off but after several more visits realized the trend was the same. Nobody said hi, nobody asked how we can be helped, nobody knew anything and gave wrong answers. The worst thing is realizing I overpaid for something by 6x the amount recently. My fault for not doing the research. I'm all for supporting small owned stores and will pay a little extra to do so but 6 times normal value everywhere else is insane. Never again.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been buying fish here for nearly a decade; they moved locations a few years ago and their new store is absolutely beautiful, clean, and inviting. They have a decent saltwater stock, but the fish are usually on the smaller side and they rarely get larger fish in stock, but I can guarantee that any fish you buy there will be healthy.

Negative experience: They get some decent fish that seem to be healthy never had a fish die from here. But their corals on other hand i would stay away from. They have a serious bryopsis issue that came in on a frag that spread to my display tank and basically beeen fighting this for a long time and lost over $4000 of corals due to it

Negative experience: I purchased a fish from this store, acclimated it to my tank and all seemed to be fine. 1 day later, I notice white spots on the fish and now it has spread to my other fish. I’m not sure what’s going on in this store or if they even quarantine the fish before they sell them because 1 fish from this store infected my whole tank. I’m truly devastated. They have a nice selection but if you get a fish from here beware.

Negative experience: My first experience at this shop I bought 4 fish. One of my fish didn’t make it even 24 hours. I brought it back with a sample of my water for them to test so I can receive a refund or new fish . They told me the levels were all good except Ammonia was present so I could not get a refund. My tank has multiple fish in it that are thriving and well taken care of, so it didn’t make sense to me . I’ve had fish tanks for years so a friend came by to test all the levels. Ammonia came back at 0 ppm! The nitrite, nitrate, Ph, alkalinity was all great. From what I gather this place is not trustworthy.

Fantastic experience: It's hard for me to justify going anywhere else for my aquarium supplies because of how awesome this place is. Rob, Albert and all of the staff are very helpful, patient, and they definitely go above and beyond expectations. They have a great variety of coral, live rocks, fish, equipment, tanks, etc. Best part is if they don't have it in stock they'll likely find it for you or at the minimum point you in the right direction. They have quickly become my family's go to aquarium supply store and I appreciate their professionalism. Definitely recommend them and would argue that they are the best aquarium supply store in Broward County hands down.

Fantastic experience: I stopped in on a Sunday looking for a specific type of corydoras, which they didn't have but offered to add to their next order for me. By Wednesday, they had gotten them in! Everyone there is really friendly and helpful (including the cat!), and all their tanks look great with a nice variety of healthy fish. I'm new to the area and really excited to have a place like this nearby--will definitely be back again as I slowly stock my tank.

Negative experience: As a senior citizen I am highly disappointed that no one came up to me to ask if I wanted help when I came in there to purchase more fish and more coral for my tank that I have at my house will never return to this place again.

Fantastic experience: Great place. Knowledgeable staff. Great selection of aquatic plants. Has freshwater fish I can’t find anywhere else in south Florida, and a wide selection. Saltwater selection is awesome as well, and has absolutely beautiful anemones. +100 points for the awesome freshwater aquascape’s throughout the store.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to at least a half dozen LFS in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area within the last 10 or so months. After giving the other places an honest try, I find myself coming back here as the quality of livestock and corals is reliably high. I’ve yet to have an issue with anything I’ve bought here which is both shocking and impressive. Shoutout to Albert for being a powerhouse of great info, keeping the shop in good shape, and getting his hands on solid fish/corals.

Fantastic experience: These guys are great! As a purveyor of freshwater fish, I love a trip to this wonderland. The people who work there are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, as well. They will give you the solution, or combination of solutions, you need to make your tank really thrive. Heck, they'll even sell you the right kind of water. This is more important for saltwater tanks, however, they also have fresh water. As a store that focuses only on aquariums, you get the personalized, specialized attention that you need. The big box chains cannot provide that. I love these guys, and I highly recommend Exotic Aquatic for anyone with fishy friends.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this store for at least 7 years now, and besides the beautiful fish and aquatic plants, my fiancé and I come because of Chad! Chad always takes great care of us, and he takes his time with us to explain and educate us in order to make the right choice of fish and plants for our aquarium needs. As a matter of fact, I end up purchasing more stuff than I normally would, because I trust his advice and recommendations. Always a pleasant experience with him, and he always takes good care of us. Positive experience: Cool place. It's a big park area with lots of different animals and exhibits. We spent about 4 hours here and we still didn't see everything. When we went, the Aquatic wasn't overly crowded so we could leisurely walk around. I would recommend this to other people who wish to check out the animals. The train ride was a little long but it was worth it .

Fantastic experience: I live in Delray but was in the area and wanted to support a local shop instead of going to my Petsmart. The young gentlemen working the store were busy at first but one swung by and asked if I needed anything, and was very helpful and honest with what I did and didn’t need to set up my Walstad tank for my betta fish. They had about three tanks of different plants to select from, and a good variety of shrimps and snails to choose. I purchased some mystery snails and ghost shrimps along with my other supplies and was on my way! Thank you to them and their adorable cat!

Negative experience: I stoped in last week looking for some Ember Tetras. The staff was friendly and they did not have the tetras i was a looking for but the employee provided me the owners contact info to place an order. Their salt aquarium stock all looked very healthy and the tanks were well maintained. Sadly I could not say the same for their fresh water stock. Many of their fresh water fish had ick. The worst tank was the Dwarf Rasbora tank. There were lots of fish in the tank and all of them had various stages of ick. I understand that sometimes they can come in from a distributor with it but the tank should have been treated and marked it’s being treated, or they should have been pulled into an isolation tank. Some of the other freshwater tanks did not appear to have been maintained past a possible water change for quite some time. To be honest I expected better care of the fish considering I have heard good things about this store and it is a local owned small business. I could not order the tetras through them because I had concerns about their fish suppliers due to the ick. I will stop in again in a few weeks to see if their fish care conditions have changed and if so I will gladly update this review.

Negative experience: this review is about Mark and his service(or lack thereof)that attempted to service our office aquarium. Mark is the owner and gave us promises that our tank would be "pristine"within 4-6 weeks. After hundreds of dollars and three visits and over two months later, the tank is much worse that it was in the beginning. Then the BS started when our office staff started to complain. It became our fault. Not only did they missed appointments and had to be reminded, to show up, the workers sent to the office had no idea what to do. They fabricated stories as to why the tank was not getting better, and it just needed more time. Such nonsense! As would have it ,these incompetents acted unprofessional in our office which only made things worse. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR ANY HOME OR OFFICE SERVICE. STAY AWAY!!

Negative experience: Nothing like driving 30 minutes to your location for it to have the open sign on but the door locked. 10:30 and nobody is here. I'll spend my money at Blue Seas.

Negative experience: Always something going on in they're tanks, kids working there are not really the most reliable. DO NOT test water here EXTREMELY inaccurate my ALK was 9.8 when they're telling me 4-5 ,sold me a $75 two part doser AND recommend 90ml.... needless to say my Gold torch ,toxic green torch an many others others Died due to ME not testing my own water. On a side note NOT THE BEST shop, but they got a great selection of dry goods. (I've spent over 3k here) go else where they could care less about our business

Fantastic experience: My husband and I came to Exotic Aquatics to have our water tested. Riley, who is the manager of the store helped us. His service was awesome. Knowing that we weren't there to purchase anything, he took his time with us to test the water and explained what the results meant. He was very knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: This is one of a few of my local pet shops that I love to visit. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and they definitely know their stuff. I often come in with the intention of just buying a few things and always leave with more than what I came for.. Nice place to just browse around with the kiddos a bit also. I also had a few issues with several of my fish and after talking with the guys, I left with some great medicine that treated my water and medicated my fish. After several days my fish were fine. Thanks Exotic Aquatics fit the insight and patience to deal with fish lovers who have questions!! These guys love Exotic Aquatic as well

Positive experience: Walk in and people waiting to get checked out. I had questions and spent 20 minutes waiting. Reason for my visit was I saw some beautiful fish on there website.. I get there after waiting 20 minutes to speak to someone #1- they said “I don’t know much” #2-they said “website pictures are old” #3- a lot of “we are out of stock” They owner looked stressed out to the max. Felt really bad for him because the employees don’t seem to eager to want to help. Or maybe I shouldn’t feel bad because it’s his responsibility to train the employees . You can decide that one. Other than that. Their cat was awesome. Fish seemed pretty healthy. And prices are just ok. Some things are super good buys and others are pretty high. The store is a 50/50. You have to know what you are doing before you walk in and know general cost of items also. But all in all. when I finally had a chance to speak with the owner because no one else knew to much. There was a few questions I asked and he didn’t know so he had three it back on an employee and ran away. Caught up with him again and asked some more questions and saw he was comfortable answering them then we had a good Q&A on what and how to do for the tank. So break down Pros* clean,cool cat, some items are good buys,fish look healthy Cons* staff has no sense of urgency, a lot of unanswered questions, owner needs a vacation.....don’t we all

Fantastic experience: Awesome experience!! My fish tank started leaking! I called and was told to speak with cody! I texted him,within minutes he responded and said he will be available to help me! He was very professional and knowledgeable! He transferred my fish to their new tank without any problems! I highly recommend to others!!
