Positive experience: Clean store with healthy stock. Very large selection of corals. Good selection of fish and inverts. On the pricier side, but you get what you pay for.

Fantastic experience: This is my new favorite spot what can I say besides it has everything the prices are on the high side but I like they sell fish in groups I bought 5 kuli loaches for 20 bucks went back the next day and bought some habrosus and emerald eyed Rasboras for a good price they have live brine shrimp bagged up ready to go for 5 bucks a oz the selection is crazy for salt and fresh if your into the hobby it's a must drive to the haystack to check ✔️ it out highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Biggest selection of saltwater fish and coral in the Bay Area. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are fair to a bit high depending on what you're looking at but they have sales every couple of months and you can join their loyalty program. Definitely a great place to go if you want a lot to pick from.

Fantastic experience: Was looking for the final centerpiece of my Saltwater tank. Ordered a a Majestic Angel, unfortunately the night after shipping the California wild fires happened and UPS shut all shipments down. Needless to say the package didn’t make it, but Aquatic Collection did the right thing and sent me out a new Angel at no cost. The Angel is perfect, excellent health and doing amazing. I can’t say enough about the wonderful customer service the quality of stock! Will definitely use again.

Negative experience: Their plants have invasive bladder snails, and out of the 2 ruins I've been there, they made royal mistakes twice

Negative experience: I recently bought a fish from this place, but unfortunately, it didn’t survive. When I brought it back to ask about what might have happened, I was met with incredibly rude customer service. The person at the front desk was dismissive and didn’t even try to answer my questions. It was clear they had no interest in helping or offering any explanation. Really disappointing experience.

Negative experience: Classic bait and switch. Placed order for 3 different saltwater angelfish on their website that showed different options in stock. Then I get the email "Oh, the sizes you selected aren't available, but here are the more expensive options that are available" - classic bait and switch. Will post to my reef forums as well. Dishonest is not the way to be.

Negative experience: These people have no problem selling you fish with velvet just be aware. Its not fair to buy reef fish which arent cheap just for them to be sick.

Fantastic experience: First, great communication via Facebook messenger. They took the time to send lots of photos as requested, gave me a detailed description of condition, and answered my many specific questions. Great follow up communication throughout the delayed shipment (Thanks UPS :( ) Even though UPS delayed my anemone a full day, it came in looking pretty good, thanks to the great packaging! I will definitely be ordering from AC again!

Fantastic experience: I havent been to the storefront, this review will be for their online store, customer service, and follow-up. I got into contact with this company looking for a specific anemone. They responded promptly, answering all of my question with wysiwyg picture's of the anemone for sale. The initial anemone didnt end up being shipped as they were monitoring its health and didnt think it was 100% healthly. This high quality standard typically isnt matched in the industry as most retailers would just ship a struggling specimen as to not end up with a loss. After about a week or so they reached out after another specimen became available. Excellent turn around on shipping (next day) and packaged well. Anemone arrived healthy. I've already returned for additional purchases and have been met with same great customer service!

Fantastic experience: Don't be in a hurry on weekends (or take it personally if you have to wait a bit) and take the extra time to appreciate the space. I can't speak to the more specialty/ exotic stock but the freshwater section is healthy and excellent. I'm still sad Albany closed but this is my new spot.

Negative experience: I think they are slipping. Lots of diseased fish. Also they used to have an amazing freshwater section but that has changed.

Negative experience: Im a long time freshwater customer of this place and today I went in to buy some goldfish. I’m usually very pleased with the sourcing and condition of fish at this establishment, though today I was forced to question my loyalty. The fancy gold fish that were available had many fish which were sick with anchor worm. These things happen in the aquarium trade so I quietly and politely informed the staff of what I saw. I was informed by a worker that they were aware of the problem and that they were doing everything they could to treat it… but they were still selling the fish and didn't have any signage indicating the fish were being treated. When I asked why they were still selling the fish the worker informed me that if someone wanted to buy the infected fish they would let them know before they purchased it, somehow I doubt that. The poor worker seemed distressed over the situation, as if they had been told by their boss to continue selling the fish against their sense of honor and common sense. Anchor worm is an extremely virulent parasite that is difficult to treat and I had observed infected fish in at least three of their /recirculating/ freshwater systems. The freshwater tanks are set up in what looks to be arrays of five tanks which all share (infected) water. In short a good quarter of the freshwater fish wall was now likely infected with anchorworm, a fact that was known by the staff while they continued to sell the fish and disregard all proper quarantine procedures. I am extremely disappointed. The person in charge here should be ashamed. Anchor worm is a horrible disease that takes months to treat and it spreads incredibly easily. Fish can be infected and not show any external signs of infection until the parasite matures. That the infected fish were not quarantined and were still being sold is negligent at best, I expected better from this place.

Negative experience: Amazing selection but mediocre customer service at best. This place/ its employees (managers or owners, primary, I assume) will never consider making the slightest effort to answer a simple question. This is definitely by no means a good place for a beginner in the hobby, and frustrating as a customer even if you do have a lot of experience.

Fantastic experience: Had the best customer service! I live in Los Banos and Aquatic collection worked with me and my work schedule. I was able to get exactly what I wanted without feeling guilty of being on a budget. I asked several questions and each one was answered. Definitely making this my go to shop. They do have a good selection of fresh water fish but not near as impressive as the salt water stuff. Coral viewing setup, good amount of scaping supplies, and great supplies and stafff

Fantastic experience: I love this Store, great selection of saltwater and freshwater species and everything else an Aquarium store should have, The service was great, a lot of friendly staff all ready to help you bag up whatever it is you decide to take home, (I was in the area, coming from San Jose, I'm glad I decided to "just check out the store", left with some Scarlet Badis and a few snails I would of definitely gotten more but I can only keep certain species in my current tank)

Fantastic experience: This Fish Store is by far one of the best fish stores I’ve been to in California. What I find excellent about this store is they have the date the fish arrived on every tank along with the price. Having the date on the tank is essential it really tells me a lot about the condition of the fish and it’s chances of survival. Every time I leave this place I feel like it is money well spent. They have a huge selection of live corals & anemone’, saltwater fish, freshwater fish and even tank supplies. Everyone working here seems to be very knowledgeable and willing to help with any questions you may have. They also have great selections of frozen fish food and they do sell RoDi water and mixed saltwater by the gallon. I was here for mostly saltwater fish and I am just amazed at the selection of fish they have, this is my now go to store. Thanks Aquatic Collection keep Killing it! Here is a few fish in my quarantine tank I purchased from them recently. A juvenile flame Angel, juvenile yellow boxfish and a cleaner wrasse. Also took a pic of their beautiful humu Trigger they have in store. Just flawless fish Update 2 weeks later: I am at 100 percent success rate all 4 fish purchased from this place lived through quarantine and successfully transferred to my DT with no issues. Only negative thing I can say about this place is that if you think you are going to call them to place an order over the phone or ask about something in stock… Good Luck you’d have better luck getting through to the IRS then this place. They should really start answering the phone. Other than that if going to the store you’ll love them.

Fantastic experience: WOW! This store made me wish I had the time and energy to start a full saltwater aquarium. Our family came by as part of redoing a small (30 gallon) freshwater tank and acquired both fish and plants. The staff and owners were friendly, incredibly knowledgable, helpful, and even took in a pile of fancytail guppies we surrendered for rehoming. They had a great selection of freshwater flora and fauna (despite challenges with global shipping happening right now), but what really caught our eye was the dedication and array of saltwater aquarium items. It was clear this is a passion of the store, and one of the best we've ever seen. Thank you, and keep up the great work!

Fantastic experience: I knew nothing of aquarium life especially SALT water fish. After about 8 months I can say now that I know a little bit. I have managed 2 clownfish somehow keeping the original one alive. The staff here is plenty. Everyone is pleasant. I wish I could spend the day gazing! Positive experience: I would rate this place 5 stars for the great customer service and selection of aquatic livestock and coral but giving 4 stars cause of lack of knowledge of some of the staff. I purchased a feather star fish from the store a few days ago. I was there earlier in the week and had asked an employee if the feather starfish was easy to care for and will get along with fish. He said that it is not easy unless you have time because you have to feed it alot. That's not a problem so I decided I would think about it and hold off. I came back a week later and asked another employee if it was OK with fish. He asked what type of fish do I have and I told him triggers and tangs. He said they will leave it alone and it will be fine. Well I bought the feather starfish. Paid $65 and was excited. Went home and acclimated him and a half hour later he was in the tank . Looked ok and everything was fine. Hopped in the shower and when I came out his limbs were scattered everywhere. The fishes tore him up. So much for being ok with fishes. Now he's sleeping with the fishes permanently. Thanks!!
