Fantastic experience: Nice little neighborhood shop. Thought they have a good variety of fresh and saltwater fish, supplies, (live too) food and plants. Seems like their inventory rotates which is good for variety. I'm assuming it's a husband/wife owned shop. Both super friendly and helpful. All of their living inventory all seems to be very healthy and good quality. Speak spanish and english. Definitely recommend coming here instead of any big box stores. Glad to have this shop nearby.

Negative experience: I’m a first time aquarium owner. I just waited three weeks for my tank to cycle and plants to grow. I bought some cherry barbs to stock the tank with from aquarma that all came diseased.

Negative experience: So, I recently visited Aquarama with high expectations, having previously enjoyed my experiences there. I had an extensive shopping history in the freshwater section and even reminisced with the staff about a humorous story involving the butterfly fish. I was excited to bring my partner along this time. I had been working on setting up a saltwater tank for my store, which I acquired three weeks ago. Before purchasing the tank, I reached out to Aquarama for advice on the best person to service it. I was referred to a knowledgeable individual who assured me that I could safely add clownfish and a cleaner crew. Upon my visit, I had my water checked, and the male owner stated that I was ready to add some fish. However, I soon encountered significant miscommunication between the male and female owners regarding what fish I could add to my tank. The man informed me that I could only have common clownfish, while the woman contradicted him. This confusion was frustrating, especially since I had already consulted with the person servicing my tank who had given me the go-ahead. What was particularly disappointing was the customer service provided by the female owner. She treated me as if she had never seen me before and communicated in a condescending manner. Her anger was noticeable, and despite my partner and I remaining extremely polite throughout our interaction, we were left bewildered by her unprofessionalism. At one point, she slammed the bag containing the starfish down on the counter, which was disheartening and raised concerns about her handling of the fish. As a dedicated aquarist who has conducted extensive research on maintaining a saltwater tank, I felt disrespected. When I expressed my interest in a pair of clownfish, she laughed and made comments that felt dismissive and unprofessional. Following this disappointing experience, I ended up going to Strictly Fish, where I received excellent care and support. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I believe that every business has the potential to improve customer interactions. I will not be returning to Aquarama due to this experience, but I genuinely hope for better service for future customers. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Negative experience: Don’t go to this place… I bough a fish to these guys and now my aquarium is infected with velvet.. a really bad bacteria. Avoid it if not all you aquarium is going to get killed.

Fantastic experience: Love this place. Family-owned by some great people. I visited on 5/25/24 with my daughter, we wanted to look at a starter aquarium with a Betta fish. Christy helped me out, she hooked me up with a nice bowl and all the accessories I needed. Never really got the "sales job", she stayed far under my budget and my kid and I walked out super happy. Would strongly recommend to any "beginner" fish enthusiasts, we got a new family member!

Positive experience: Decent shop, staff is very annoying. You ask if they have a product in stock and they belittle you on how to use it. I asked if you guys carried something not every step on how to keep and maintain a reef tank.

Prices land maybe 10-15% higher than what I’ve elsewhere in South Florida. Coral selection is limited, but includes all of the staples. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend.

Fantastic experience: We stopped by to kill time during a trip in Miami. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Good selection for a small space, and kept clean for how old it is. Most stores don't last this long so I'm impressed. I wish I could have picked up some coral. Definitely worth checking out. The only downside is there's only a few parking spaces and if they're not open you have nowhere to park. We circled 3 times waiting for someone to leave but are glad we waited.

Negative experience: Never again. I had an already established small population ready to go into a larger tank I am about to finish, this population had been healthy and happy for two months. I stopped here based on it's non deserved reputation to mathematically complete the numbers on this population, and even add other two or three species. BIG MISTAKE. Fish came with tail rot infections, Ick (which is kind of expected really) and the worse, Swim Bladder Disease. Now I am waiting on antibiotics to be able to contain the Swim Bladder Disease while trying to treat fin rot and containing Ick. Both lessons learned. Once a population is out of quarantine, leave it alone even if number are not even. And two, NEVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE AGAIN.

Fantastic experience: Staff has treated me with respect and has helped me a great deal in my hobby since the first day I’ve walked in about 4 years ago now. Each employee has plenty of knowledge to share and if one can’t help you they call in another staff member from the back to come assist you better. The fish have not stopped coming in even throughout the pandemic going on which has been great since I’ve had time to re-scape, I’ve got plenty of options to choose from here that I wouldn’t be able to get at other stores.

Negative experience: They have a great variety of fresh water fish but ZERO return policy. Bought a 25 dollar fish on Saturday afternoon was dead by sunday. Tried to return it monday and they refused. My tank is welll established with live plants and I test my water regularly. They didnt even offer a store credit, exchange or even test my water. THEY LOST A CUSTOMER and GAINED A NEGATIVE REVIEW. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been looking to purchase some fish for my tank and I decided to check out this local business that sells many types of fish. Let me start off by telling this place is perfect for purchasing fish or even product. All the employees are very knowledgeable and very friendly. The place was clean and also they have many variety of fish on any budget. They constantly are getting new product and different types of fish. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Excellent attention and staff is knowledgeable about the species they sell, both marine and fresh water specimens. I trully enjoyed visiting them. The prices are better for some stuff, i.e. ghost shrimps are 10 for $1 while in PetSmart are 0.39 cents each ergo $3.90 for the same amount of shrimp. They have a beautiful Morey eel and cute clown fish hidden inside an anemone. Plus the place is very clean.

At least at this location they have healthy fish. I truly do hope this changes in the future for the entire industry itself to flourish instead of continuing a downward slope.

Fantastic experience: By far the best aquarium store I've been to....Where to start!!!! first off their customer service is exceptional, they are extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about everything they sell. I'm new to the hobby and they have managed to help me keep all my fish and my little niece's fish alive and healthy giving me tips and always answering all the questions I have....The store is relatively small, but their fish selection is incredible with fair prices...(healthy and great quality fish) They are also great with kids, I sometimes take my little niece (7) and they make her feel so special. Really you must visit them if you are in the hubby period.

The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because sometimes some of their products can be overpriced. I recently was going to purchase a Marineland Penguin 150 filter for $40 from them but was able to get it through Amazon for $16 with shipping. A $25 difference is a bit too much for me.

Negative experience: I bought 2 elephant nose an 6 neon all the fish she sold me died, within 2 days an have bacterial growth on them. I bought fish from petco an they are still alive no infection an NONE have died. She said my water was bad. Took water back to petco said water is safe had some ammonia but safe levels. If I could put a zero it would be in effect. 86$ gone. They will never get my money ever again.

They have for both salt and fresh water aquariums. I am a beginner and I just recently started building my aquarium and they were able to help me get started. They answered all of my questions and concerns. The staff is amazing; excellent customer service! If they dont have a product you're looking for, they will either recommend another similar product of equal quality or will look into getting the product you're looking for. This is definitely my go to aquarium store!
