Negative experience: I was a loyal customer for almost 30 years, but after the way the new owners treated my wife I will never be going in that store again. Horrible. I thought better of Tom. I was wrong

And they are perfect for beginners and help people learn how to make a perfect tank. Fish at pet smart always die. Here they live great and they also are all carefully treated and all are always healthy

Fantastic experience: Charlie helped me find my new nocturnal best friend. Tom helped me to get to know my new hedgehog best friend. Lovely facility. Very nice and knowledgeble staff. 3 weeks later, I adopted a cockatiel. Thanks to Morgan for answering all my silly questions. Wonderful experience.

Fantastic experience: Bought a pink face lovebird and he is awesome...what a love. Working with Charlie to get a newly weaned baby lovebird. The birds are addicting...I have 2 lovebirds and 1 budgie and awaiting my 3rd lovebird. They are my kids and are spoiled.

Negative experience: More of a pet shop than an aquarium

Positive experience: Very fun to walk around and see all the critters! They offer both aquarium friends as well as other pets. We've seen everything here from guinea pigs to bunnies, always lots of pretty birds, and tons of terrarium pets. Always fun to stop in and see what's offered, especially if you're into hobby aquariums and the like.

Negative experience: Bought some chaeto from them and it had aptasia hiding in it. Now working on eradicating them but don’t buy macro algae unless you want straight up pests. God knows what else they got hiding :(

Fantastic experience: When I first moved to the area, I went to every fish store I could find from Fort Myers to St Petersburg, and I can confidently say this is the best by far. The selection of everything is great here, and the staff is super helpful and friendly. I have nothing I could choose to complain about, except that I live an hour away! Well worth the drive.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency today with my 50 gallon aquarium. My Fluval FX canister filter decided to quit on me. I called Seascape Aquarium for some hints on reviving this 6 month old pump. I spoke to Tom who walked me through a bunch of remedies but nothing worked. So I took a ride to Seascape at Tom's request and he went through my ailing pump and was able to bring it back to life! No only are the fish they sell healthy and happy, but their staff is fantastic. Thanks Doctor Tom for saving my patient!

Fantastic experience: This fish store has been in business for over 30 years, and their selection and quality of livestock, plants, accessories, and food has always been top-notch. Some people say that they are pricey, but they'll give you discounts when you purchase a lot. They are also staffed with very knowledgeable employees, who will take the time to talk in depth with you.

Positive experience: Prices aren't bad. Tanks could be cleaner. Have only purchased corals from here. Good selection. ALWAYS dip your coral and quarantine, I did find vermetid snails and nudibranchs. Staff was great

Positive experience: Best crickets in town! Don’t waste your time/money at petco, this is the best option and I’ve been a frequent customer for years. In terms of the reptiles, I remember they had problems with husbandry in the past (leopard geckos on calcisand, tortoises and bearded dragons in the same tank, etc.), but they’ve improved a lot since then and most animals are decently well cared for. Also, Charisma is the best kitty!

Fantastic experience: Extremely knowledgeable and patient staff. Even being exceptionally busy all the time the employees really take the time with each customer to ensure they get the right items for their pets needs. This is THE SPOT for your pets!

Negative experience: The people there were really nice, but the salt water they sold me from the hose had nitrites in it. I tested the water once I got home, but I had unfortunately already put it in my tank, so now I am dealing with a nitrogen problem.

Negative experience: Expensive as always, $20 for 6 tiny blue legged hermit crabs, and 1 medium mexican turbo snail. The were all cannibalized with in a few days. And my snail ended up not being a snail, but a starfish instead.

Negative experience: I had such high hopes for this fish store. Until I saw how the employee handled the fish I was buying. He put them in a bag and they got stuck in the top where there was no water. He also squished one of my neon tetras in the bag and it ended up dying later that night. Buyer beware, they mishandle fish.

Positive experience: It's okay. This place used to be the bomb. The selection of saltwater fish and supplies has really diminished over the years. I think COVID really hurt the industry as a whole. It's still a cool store. It would definitely be a cool experience for little kids, with parental supervision. Go check out the turtles out back.

Negative experience: I have been going to seascape for years as a sarasota native and have spent thousands of dollars as a client,I've know the owners of this establishment for years, they would never treat me as i was treated today, my step father sold a fish tank under his name on consignment; they picked up the fish tank from the household and charged us which is understandable, however they claim it is $65 and hour to clean the tank, the tank was sold at somewhere around $400 right before Christmas of 2023, I called and contacted the gentleman responsible for the fish tank sales, (younger guy dark hair) Told me that a check initially was sent in the mail by his accountant, I called multiple times after the fact and so did the stepfather who agreed to the terms, there is no paper trail, neither of us have been provided with proof or any receipt of sale. So we basically aren't getting any compensation for said fish tank, it's kind of funny how they assume it took more than 3 hours to scrape algae off of a tank to utilize the entire balance of said compensation. I will Never Spend another Penny at this Facility, nor recommend anyone to ever go to seascape again, this is beyond pathetic and I will certainly be taking this to small claims court. It's simply a slimey way to conduct business and have absolutely no transparency with your clients as a business that has made an impact on so many in the community of sarasota, think twice before coming. most businesses follow up with clients... this is hands down the worst service I've ever seen in ANY Industry. Never again will I step foot in this excuse of a business EDIT ON REVIEW: I WAS FULLY AWARE AND APPROVING OF THE TANK TO BE SOLD, DONT LET THAT BE MISCONSTRUED, AS IM BEING ACCUSED OF. NO REPLY FROM THIS COMPANY CAN EVEN REMOTELY MAKE WHAT THEY DID OKAY, THERE AGAIN!!! WAS NEVER ANY RECIEPT OR DOCUMENTATION PROVIDED AT ALL, FOR SAID CHARGES OR PRICE, OF ANY GOODS WHATSOEVER. THERE WAS NEVER ANY DAMAGE ON THE TANK STAND AS WELL, AGAIN ID LOVE TO SEE ANY PROOF OF THAT AS WELL, SAY WHAT YOU WILL, BUT CLEARLY ITS MY WORD AGAINST THERES, IVE ALREADY LOST WHAT I HAVE TO LOSE, THIS SLIMEY COMPANY ALREADY GOT WHAT THEY WANTED, I AGAIN WILL NEVER RECCOMEND ANYONE EVER SHOP IN THIS "STORE" IF THATS WHAT YOU COULD EVEN CALL IT, TAKE A LOOK FOR YOURSELVES AT THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, ONE EVEN MENTIONS SOMEONE BEING ACCUSED OF MOLESTATION? Fantastic experience: This store is very useful for those who breed fish, birds, and reptiles. But mainly, they specialize in fish. They have very competent consultants, they will advise and tell you about everything, even help solve problems with aquarium diseases. You can also just look at various beautiful fish, birds, and reptiles there. They take very good care of their pets, so you don’t have to worry about the health of the animals you buy. In this store, there lives a very cute and nice cat (he is not for sale)

Fantastic experience: Came to have my boots repaired next door and accidentally stumbled upon this store. Wow! I have been to a lot of aquarium stores back when I had a tank, but this is one of the biggest, nicest, and with the largest selection stores I have been to. They also have other pets for sale such as rabbits, birds, spiders, snakes, etc. Staff was very kind and it made my day to find this place. Now I really want to get back into aquascaping.

Fantastic experience: So amazing to just check out. The koi pond is so pretty and there's tons of fish and tanks! And the reptiles are cool with all the snakes, lizards and birds. And there's a sweet little cat that hangs out and greets you. Very cool place!

Negative experience: We’ve went to this store for years. We loved it, had great workers great products. We went there a few weeks ago and I’m assuming they got new management. However, it was an awful experience. The manager had no clue what he was talking about. He had $25 listed for a shrimp and tried saying it was $100. you’d ask him a question and he would have no answer. Sad to say but i don’t think we’ll be going back.

Fantastic experience: I stop in once a week to get necessities for our pythons etc- this store is a must have for our pet situation! You need a little patience with the staff and checkout- its often not quick in and out unfortunately! Some of the staff are really friendly! Hope they are around forever!

Negative experience: Updated review: This was posted 3 years ago originally. I have been going to this store for 4 years or more have spent thousands on equipment, thousands on fish and livestock , thousands on coral, thousands on salt water and ro water and it saddens me to walk away from what has been my “home” for a very long time. The new manager they have in this store is an absolute joke to the industry and customer service. He knows NOTHING of what you try to ask but has to go get someone to find out (yet he is the manager). He screams at his customers and people in the store. I will NOT step foot in this store again until he is gone! I trade in thousands in coral frags every month or so was going to start here however I was offered $70 (by the manager on a separate occasion) for $400+ worth of coral frags (I took them down the road and got 5x what he offered). There frags are always overpriced and always the same thing you find anywhere else. I’m glad to say another store not too far away has treated me much better and I have also been going there for years. Alissa, Rick and his wife have been good people. I’m sure I will not be the only person walking away from seascape do to the new manager ignorance, uneducated, rude and Tourette like attitude. Goodbye Seascape

Fantastic experience: I wish I would have got the name of the young man that just helped me out when I came into the store I needed to replace an old bulkhead from an aquarium that I bought and I also needed new tubing for it and wanted a a new fish and he stopped everything to help me out and walked through the fish section of salt water answered all of my questions. He got me the pink urchin that I've been looking for everywhere, a very nice kid and very informative lovely to speak to . I'll definitely be back for an eel once I get my tank set up that he helps me get the things I needed for.

Fantastic experience: This is the by far the place to go for ALL of your aquarium needs! This place is a fish lovers dream come true! Tanks full of aquarium plants that I’ve never even seen before! I’m always at a “pet store” buying supplies for my fish tanks but this place is different! So many rooms full of just about anything you can think of for fresh or salt water aquariums. The fish selection is so huge I didn’t even have the time to take it all in. The reason for my long drive was to purchase an axolotl, which I did and I’m so happy! Fantastic experience: Great place to buy fish, with an variety both saltwater and freshwater fish. Not to mention the amazing amount of coral selection they had. I bought one of my American Cichlids here along with a crayfish, and both are doing and looking great. They also sold great used tanks for a cheap price. The driftwood and rocks were surprisingly inexpensive and great quality. However when it came to the rodent section to the store, I’m afraid I was a little disappointed. Some of the large guinea pigs were kept in small enclosures, and it was almost sad to see. Nevertheless, this place is a great fish store, and I will definitely come back. -One quick question- Does this store sell axolotls? I thought I saw one in a picture, but didn’t find one in the store. Thanks!

Negative experience: Been buying stuff there for awhile now. Have always been told by the staff about the 48 guarantee. Have never used it. They say don't worry if they die we have a 48 hour guarantee. Brought a dead fish back in and the owner said "Sorry that fish's fins are tattered, we don't warranty that. It's on the fine print on the receipt." I had a live fish (jewel fish) with me to donate to the shop. We were going to buy other fish to fill a new tank we recently purchased. I left Seascape the donation jewel fish and went to Petco.

Was pretty good until 2 people came in screaming about how a staff member might have molested his niece? Didn’t hear to much cause I ran out of the store. Positive experience: Definitely a complete store. They have pretty much everything you could possibly need to setup an aquarium. They also have a wide variety of freshwater and saltwater fish, as well as corals and inverts. There are also a reptiles and some small mammals.

Positive experience: I love Seascape! I've come here for quite awhile whenever I'm in need of anything for my reptiles, and especially my aquariums. The decor is great, and very fitting for what they do. The staff is very professional, and I believe a lot of family involvement. Even just walking in, and walking over the bridged Koi pond is excellent! Lots of species of fish available, as well as birds, turtles, and often times, various reptiles. Highly recommended if you run an aquarium of most any type - wet or dry!

Negative experience: Wide selection of items related to animal hobbies. A little on the pricey side but they are locally owned. Horrible customer service skills. I don't think you are supposed to talk down to customers or come across Arrogant. Help the customer understand in a way that doesn't make them feel dumb. Fyi.

Positive experience: Great employees and fun selection of fish and animals. We have been regulars at this store for over a year. Have bought many fish, corals, product and more. We Purchased a new tank from the owner ( our second ---the first was bought at a different store around the corner.) We were told that the setup and water would be included (just as it was when we purchased our first tank from Coral Connections.) Wish we would have stuck with Coral Connections for this tank purchase....owner did not stick to his word. Be sure to get things in writing before purchasing!

Negative experience: A lot of stuff. I went in for some ph buffer for my reef tank. Was interested in a hammer coral but good luck getting any help. I waited for over 30 min before I gave up on the coral. I watched people who came in after me be helped before me.

Fantastic experience: Seascape is the best fish store in the area. They sell other pet supplies and animals as well but my experience with them is with fish. I have cared for many freshwater tanks over the years, but was starting my first saltwater tank. I came in and spoke with Alissa. She was great help and has worked with me for the months of setting up this tank! She wouldn't sell me anything she knew I wasn't ready for and now whenever I walk in she asks about the tank. They have great selection of animals and products, but the customer service is second to none. I cant recommend seascape enough! And if you are interest in a reef tank Alissa is your girl.

Visited with the family.Animals was very well tooken care of.They had exotic fish and some really awesome puffer belly fish.The angel fish and the clown fish were special in their own kinda way.Exotic Birds as well(don't touch the birds,they bite.)This pet store has a guard cat on duty which freaked me out a little,but he was harmless.All in all great place to visit,grandson even bought a pet baby rabbit for his girlfriend...

Positive experience: My son keeps birds so I go in there with him to buy bird toys, treats and he even bought a pair of cocktiels. It seems to have a good selection of birds, fish, food and accessories.
