Positive experience: Pretty small aquarium that doesn't have a ton of stuff to see. Might be cool to do if you're already going to be at Story Land, but not worth it's own dedicated trip. Also, $10 to park is a bit much if you're just doing the aquarium.

Fantastic experience: a lot of the reviews mention the reptile enclosures being less than ideal, but I feel these were written by people uneducated on reptiles and the fact that the reptiles in thjs facility are mostly all either still young or disabled in some way which prevents them from being in larger or more decorated enclosures. personally as someone who has kept and worked with reptiles, i struggle to find facilities that take proper care of theirs, but found that this aquarium does! they seem to have access to proper UVB lighting and heat sources. they all seem very active and the keepers definitely love them. finding proper reptile care in new hampshire is few and far between so this was a treat! thank you. the baby alligators and toothless the black dragon monitor were my favorites :)

Negative experience: Really not worth the visit. A bit over priced and as an added bonus if you want to park relatively close it's an extra $10.

Thank you for taking the time to review us, Jon, and we are sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations during your recent visit. We are always looking for ways to grow and improve and hope you give us another try in the future.

Positive experience: Awfully small, line out the door, too many people at once, way tooo hot, parking was $15 and the parking registration was super poorly coded need to use all this money for updating their system parking system if they need that money so bad. Took us 30 minutes to get it to work. Storyland uses the same $15 parking as well. If you’re gonna spend money without worries of waste then disregard this. Storyland is worth visiting, but idk about the aquarium.

Thank you for your review! Our parking is $10 with a $1.50 processing fee, we are sorry that you experienced difficulty registering upon arrival. We hope you give us another try in the future!

Negative experience: It was extremely disappointing and disturbing to see the conditions of the creatures in the new reptile room. Between the snapping turtles and ball python that didn't even have enough room to turn around and the general lack of activity in the rest of the enclosures, I was appalled to have spent money towards this place. I do not plan on returning unless they shift their profits towards the animals rather than gimmicky and cheap toys in the gift shop.

Living Shores Aquarium

Thank you for taking the time to review the aquarium. We value all feedback and we thank you for visiting us. Many animals in our collection started their lives as pets and were later surrendered to our care. Each exhibit in our new Crittertarium was custom-built for the specific needs of each animal. For example, our snapping turtle, Ody, is vision impaired, and a larger enclosure would jeopardize her health and safety. Fantastic experience: This place was so cool! We finally got the chance to visit and both my husband and I were elated at being able to see all the reptiles and fish! Our five year old daughter was beyond ecstatic! It’s not a huge place, but there’s a lot to see and the touch tanks are amazing! I mean, it’s not everyday you can feel a manta ray or nibble fish or even starfish! The staff was quick and happy to stop and educate us on anything we had we wanted to learn about. I want to give a special shout out to Jackie in the gift shop! I could have spent all day talking to her, what a sweet lady, and funny! Overall, had a blast, totally worth it, look forward to visiting again!

Thanks so much Sara! We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and we appreciate your kind words. We hope to see you again soon!

Negative experience: Turtles need bigger tanks. Not worth $25 per person if your turtles are treated badly. Do better.

Fantastic experience: Love this aquarium! Small but it’s perfect. They have nibble fish you can touch along with sting rays that you can feel. Great place for adults and kids!

Thanks for your 5 star review AJ! We hope to see you again soon.

Negative experience: This is meant for small children. It's built kinda like a big warehouse filled with touch tanks. There wasn't enough staff to make sure that the children weren't abusing the animals. Very loud, and because of how it is built echos quite a bit. I felt bad for the animals because of this.

Fantastic experience: Cute aquarium. My kid is obsessed with the tortoises, the nibble fish, and the sting rays. The alligators are cool too. Looking forward to the new reptile exhibit when that opens. They are under construction but I imagine they time it for the slower winter months so it’s ready by the busier summer months. We come here at least once a month!

Living Shores Aquarium

Love it! Thanks for your 5 star review. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Negative experience: WAIST OF MONEY ! $ 55.00 for two people and we were finished in 15 minutes, no fish to speak of, a few small skates ,overgrown goldfish (carp) maybe 4 tanks , no Otters just what looks like a rubber alligator ,it moved a little so it must be real ,if you want to see cool fish visit your local pet store and to add insult $ 10.00 for parking , take heed !

Living Shores Aquarium

Thanks for your review Jimmy, we are sorry you did not enjoy our many exhibits.

Positive experience: Small ..really isn't much there .. it took about 30 mins and alot things were shut down I think we stood in line longer than what it took to see everything

Positive experience: Small town Aquarium. Very interactive with a few touch tanks. We spent 1 hour and also fed the sting rays which was the highlight.

Rebecca Hurd 5 months ago

Negative experience: Went as a family vacation, we weren't aware that the otters were replaced with alligators that don't move around in a really hard to see. We were so disappointed when we went to the aquarium, not sure if we'll be going back again. We used to really enjoy this place but now it just seems way overpriced for what they offer.

Negative experience: Visited this morning with my five-year-old and I’m sad to say I agree with the reviews saying this is not worth the money. It is small, but I think a bigger problem is poor execution. Most of the touch tanks are too deep and inaccessible for children, and don’t have enough creatures to make them interesting. This wasn’t just the case with my child – only the stingrays and the nibble fish were getting any interaction at all. The other exhibits are minimal and many are too high for the children to see. It seems that they put an investment into the alligators, but the alligators are not very exciting – when I was there, they were asleep in the corner and no one was looking at them. I do think this is an amazing spot for an aquarium, and there is a lot of potential if they just put a little more thought into how they could make the space more fun and interactive for children. But I would not advise anyone to go there, or at least to have very low expectations.

Mike Letizia 7 months ago

Negative experience: For the price, this isn’t worth it. About $115 for 2 adults and 2 kids. It’s a small aquarium with some cool touch tanks for the kids. Spent about 25 minutes there. If you capped this at like $15 bucks a person or so it would be better.

Negative experience: The online military ID check isn't working, and the staff at the front desk was not helpful. They wouldn't help us get the military discount, even though we showed a valid military ID. It wasn't worth it. I suggest visiting the aquarium in Boston instead.

Kristy B 7 months ago

Negative experience: We were super disappointed with our visit here. This "aquarium" is very overpriced and there is nothing here that warrants paying $25 per person and $10 to park. The website is deceptive about what you will see, making it appear larger than it is. In reality, it is one room with small "exhibits". Based on good Google reviews we were expecting to see otters, but only after leaving did we read all the 1 star reviews and realized that the otters and birds are gone. (The website does not say that.) The 1 star reviews go back at least 6 months saying that they are under construction, meaning they have been under construction for 6 months minimum. Furthermore, we always look forward to seeing things like jellyfish, seahorses and pirahanas. And although those weren't advertised, there were none, so that was disappointing. Finally, the lighting in the room was absurd. It was somehow both too bright and too dark. The overhead yellow lighting reflected off all the tanks and water in such a weird way that it was hard to see the animals or get nice photos. (As reflected in my attached photos.) We have traveled to many aquariums, including very small ones like Save The Bay in RI and they were still enjoyable and filled with exciting things to look at but this one was so underwhelming especially for this price. Everything here felt like what you'd see at a pet store. Don't bother.

Fantastic experience: We visited Living Shores on a recent family vacation. It was quiet (probably because it was a school day) but overall fabulous. First, they offer free lockers which was fantastic. I didn’t want to lug our winter coats around. They take your photo with a fun background (with offer to purchase at the end). They did have some ‘work in progress’ going on so some things were barricaded, but this didn’t take away from all the other cool things, You start your walk among the great reef tanks with the colorful fish. The onward to the touch tank with stingrays, which was really cool. They seemed to really enjoy being petted and they even try splashing you and giving high-fives! I loved the red garra tank, they tickle (nibble) on your fingers. We all had a good laugh at that. They also had an interactive area for the little ones with an augmented reality sand box that used projection to show sea creatures and ocean life (plus the occasional treasure box). They also had a neat table set up with markers where they can color the photos of fish, lobsters and other things, then they place it on another table, and it shows up on a large TV screen. The kids loved it (so did we)! Overall, it was a great trip, and we would go again. The only downfall that I wish places like this would consider giving parents a beak, offer another option to exit where you are not forcing us to go through a gift shop. For some it’s hard enough to cover the cost of the ticket, then they have to deal with their children begging for something overpriced on the way out. It’s also the only way to/from the restrooms. I witnessed a poor woman almost to tears herself, first she struggled telling the kiddos they needed to leave, then they were all upset that she wouldn’t get them anything from the shop...she tried pleading with them that she simply couldn’t afford it, but no child understands this concept. I felt bad and also dreaded knowing I was in for the same struggle myself as soon as we were heading out the door….uggg. Next time I bring a blindfold!

Fantastic experience: Pretty cool place. Lots of stuff in a small scale aquarium to interact with. Highly recommend it if you have littles who are impatient

Fantastic experience: Purchase tickets online prior to arrival to save $5 on each ticket. Kids loved it. We spent about 1 hr here before the kids got bored. But we'll worth $20 in our opinion. Thank you.

jenna 9 months ago

Negative experience: It’s a very small aquarium with not much to do. $25 admission per person is ridiculously overpriced. If half of the exhibits are closed then you need to lower admission!! I was also not informed by the front desk that I could save money by purchasing the tickets online. Save yourself the disappointment and go to the aquarium in Boston.

C. Munroe 11 months ago

Negative experience: Don’t bother save your money $25 for admission another $10 for stingray experience x2 $20 amounts to family of four $120 they advertise birds as well as otter exhibits which both are not there?! You easily can see everything twice within a half hours time ….I’ve seen more animals/exhibits at a local Petsmart for FREE with more space/animals then here!! !!EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!!

tania grace 1 year ago

Positive experience: It’s cute for kids but wayyyy overpriced for what it is. They were also doing renovations while we were there so a big section was empty and we didn’t even get a discount for missing a part of the aquarium. At least we can say we checked it out but wouldn’t go back there again.

Jason M 1 year ago

Positive experience: Are the birds and otters back yet? Or new exhibits in place of them? A few months ago considered going back but heard these were gone with no replacement but that something was on the way. May be heading back up to see foliage and wondering if it will be worth a visit?

Melissa Monte 1 year ago

Negative experience: Super disappointed. Waited all morning for it to open at 10am for there to be 15 minutes worth of stuff to look at. We thought it would be too much to do in one day with Story Land so we saved it for a quick trip the next day. What a mistake. Should have done the same day or not at all for the price.

LonelyGardens 1 year ago

Negative experience: They don't take cash, which was a shocker, who doesn't take cash? Not a huge deal but, a lot of the stuff was closed. Was 3 things for young adults to do, sucker fish, sting rays and starfish exhibits. They are cool and all, all the other touchable tanks were empty or seemed empty. Most of the animals you could not see, no parrots like they used to have. My boyfriend bought me a plush that was supposed to be half off, charged me full price and didn't notice till we got home. Almost 30 dollars for a kids hoodie too? Wouldn't recommend, go to other conway attractions if you wanna entertain your kid for more than 30 minutes. Also cost 70 dollars for 3 people on a weekday, little ridiculous for the lack of things to do. (Edit: I see other bad reviews getting a reply about checking their website. Why be open if half your stuff isn't open? No one thinks to check and see if the place with fish has fish available to see, little silly ain't it?)

c roy 1 year ago

Positive experience: This aquarium does have a small variety of things, but with that being said, it's a little small. Think we were in and out in under 30 min. They do have a few touch tanks that my son enjoyed.

Lisa Ellingwood 1 year ago

Positive experience: I wish I could say that it was a great experience, but not so much. I understand that improvements need to be made, but it truly would be nice if on the website you could tell us which exhibits were closed. I took my granddaughter on 8/21/24 I told them all about the birds landing on tour arms and even heads sometimes, so they were so excited. Well not open, also talked about the cool otters, not open. We did put our hands in the tank were the fish nibbles at your hands cool. Shark exhibit, Well pa system didn't work so could hear what she was saying, gor to play in the sand and look at fish in the big tank and that was it. This visit was very disappointing to say the least.

Erica DelloRusso 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: This place doesn't get the credit it deserves!! Pictures are offered when walking in and they're pretty cool and pretty affordable! The place to view the fish in tanks is small, but the tanks you can reach in and touch steals the whole show and takes up the majority of the place! The have sting rays, little sharks(nocturnal do not much activity there!). They also have everyone's favorite, the nibbler fish! They stick to your hands and it feels so weird but is very cool! At the end there is another pretty cool big tank and a sand bin the has a projector above it that puts crabs, fish, treasure chest in the sand. Next to that there is a drawing station. You color in your fish and put your name(make sure to write it in black) and it projects onto a television screen and turns your drawing to life. I even had fun and I'm 32 After that, the girt shop, bistro and dunkins is at the end. The gift shop is pretty pricey but there are a few affordable things. Both of my kids got a pack of plastic sea creatures and a mini stingray each and it came out to $23.00. Which isn't bad. Parking costs money it says on the signs but we didn't notice until we were leaving so we didn't pay haha. For 20.00 each, we spent about 2 hours there. I think it was completely worth it!

Clare Ann Himmelblau 1 year ago

Negative experience: Tourist trap ripoff for the price ($20 general admission online, seniors $3 less, plus $4 processing fee). Parking was $10 + $1.50 processing fee. Says to give 1-2 hours, but 30 minutes more than enough. My husband and were expecting a much bigger place. Not many different kinds of fish, etc. 4 touch pools. Ok if you have little kids as the staff is good and very knowledgeable.

Denise Ryan 1 year ago

Negative experience: Although staff was extremely friendly-this experience was extremely disappointing. Certainly not worth the money spent. Three exhibits were closed upon arrival. Do your research and visit another area attraction We purchased tickets in advance

J D 1 year ago

Negative experience: Drive 1 hour to find out the place is under renovation, and what's available is the size of a basketball court. $20 to experience maybe 10 minutes' worth of stuff. It's easily one of the worst aquariums and total rip-off .

T M 1 year ago

Negative experience: Horrible experience at this money grab. They do not let you know ahead of time that all exhibits are not available -- including the otters, what appears to be birds, several reptiles/amphibians, and apparently on Tuesdays all sharks are not available to view either. That leaves a few fish exhibits and 3-4 touch tanks. But of course you still pay full price! $10 for parking, then another $80 for two adults and one 4 year old. If your most popular exhibits are closed, you shouldn't be charging guests full price without letting them know ahead of time that they will not have a complete experience. Absolutely shady business practices, when I mentioned this I was told that "the full exhibit list is on our website" -- we only heard about this place from a pamphlet at our hotel and did not visit the website beforehand as we didn't have the ability to. It is a single room, the attached photo essentially shows the extent of it. The touch tanks are impossible for small children to reach, I had to dangle my grandson over the water. Reptiles are not labeled so you have no idea what you're seeing. The only redeeming part of this experience was that many of the staff were very kind and pleasant, and my grandson enjoyed the sand table. The virtual aquarium was not working. Many other recent negative reviews back this experience up, seems like I was not the only one to feel like there was inadequate notice of exhibits being closed.

Ryan Boettcher 1 year ago

Positive experience: I went in expecting it to be small, but was surprised even then at how small it is. I was told 1-2 hours but we were out within 30 minutes. Now, you can definitely take your time and they do have presentations which can help extend the experience and what they have is nicely presented. What really grinds my gears and made me deduct a whole star is the $10 parking fee they sneak in there. There's a free lot across the street, but if you're not coming first thing in the morning it will be full as they share it with Story Land. Don't come with high expectations and come early or pair it with a day at Story Land and it's a fine experience. Otherwise just skip it.

MK B 1 year ago

Negative experience: Not worth it! Even on a rainy day with not a lot to do - $68 for 3 of us; 2 adults and 2 toddlers. One room, no variety, no imagination in the design of the place. Awful.

jessica g 1 year ago

Negative experience: Absolutely a waste of money, $25/pp over 2 years old plus $10 to park and the aquarium is the size of a basketball court. All exhibits can be experienced in less than 10 minutes total. Would not recommend.

Brian P 1 year ago

Negative experience: Wish I could give this place 0 stars. We went to the Living Shores Aquarium in June and it was a terrible experience. We purchased our tickets online because they charge less then buying it at the door. While on the website purchasing the tickets we saw no warnings or indication that many of the exhibits were closed. We showed up and as soon as we entered we were greeted by an empty tank. We had been here once before and knew this tank wasn't a big part of the Aquarium. As we passed the first tank that actually had fish and walked into the main room (the aquarium is essentially 1 large room) we noticed that the otter exhibit was also blocked off. Again we were going to overlook that until we noticed that the bird encounter exhibit was also closed. Now this aquarium is very small and it is a stretch to say that you could be in there for 1 to 2 hours when everything is open. It is a waste of money when a couple of the big exhibits are closed. We wouldn't have been so upset if they had reduced the admission but it was full price for only part of the aquarium. We spent less than five minutes in there and walked out to the front to ask for a refund. The girl at the front said that she had to contact her manager because she couldn't give refunds. The manager Brandon said on the walkie talkie that we had to contact the website for a refund. This was unacceptable and we wanted him to come to the aquarium to speak with us. The girl said it would take him a few minutes to come over. We stepped to the side and waited quietly. While waiting for over ten minutes a different employee, Dylan came over. I asked if he was Brandon and he said no and that he heard on the Walkie that we were making a commotion so he came over to help. I immediately told him that we had been standing off to the side quietly waiting and that there was no commotion. He said that he would try to help. We explained and he said that same thing the Brandon said and that we would have to use the website. He then said that he was in charge of the website and that he knows that it says the exhibits are closed ( we checked later and it said nothing). After going back and forth with him for no reason since he couldn't help the general manager Chris was called to come over. Chris was useless and again said he could not refund money and that we would have to use the website contact form. I looked at the form and it said nothing about requesting a refund and only about asking questions. We didn't understand how they could easily take our money but that it was very difficult to refund us. After some back and forth with Chris the General Manager who doesn't have the authority to issue a refund we decided to just file a dispute with our credit card and leave. Anyone reading this don't waste your time or money at this place. It is greatly overpriced for what it is. The thing is if they had just either given us a discount or maybe a free admission for another time we would have been happy with that but they made the whole experience terrible and they have lost customers with young children who go to Story land every year. Beware

Lindsay Gage 1 year ago

Negative experience: This place is an absolute joke! If you want to be completely ripped off be my guest and go! Otherwise read the reviews and listen to them! We came here in April. The price was $19.99 online. Everything was open. Yesterday we went back. Same price. We arrived and instantly realized 4 of the what 7 attractions were closed. No fish in first tank, birds are gone, the otters are gone and one of the touch tanks was completely empty. So you are able to touch some little fish the sting rays and possibly see/touch a sea star and a few other animals all in a wall unlabeled. They say this is “educational” ummm. When I told a team member how disappointed I was she said “ I know im really sorry we have told them people are not happy” also told someone else and they said well there is a note at the desk…. Ummm WHERE! I emailed them and sent in a request for a refund and this is what I received back. Good morning Lindsay, “We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. It is our goal to share a variety of educational experiences to the area. We understand that experiences might not appeal to every guest. We do have a wonderful website that lists and describes all of the current exhibits, so that are guests have the appropriate expectations before they arrive. We have a strict “No-Refund” policy and will have to deny your request for a refund. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Bev” Thai place won’t last much longer unless they do some real changes. People catch on. I was not going to post a bad review either until this was how they corrected the issue. Also I attached a picture of the website they told me yesterday had a notice about closed exhibits? I’m sorry where. False advertising at best! Theft. It’s so unethical.

Kristin Bauer 1 year ago

Negative experience: BUYER BEWARE!!! Half of the aquarium is shut down right now due to renovations. For the cost of the visit, it is not at all worth it and they don’t publicize all of the exhibits that are not running. We just visited for our second time and were incredibly disappointed. After reaching out to guest services, we were essentially given a corporate line without any accountability for the misrepresentation of the website and overall experience. I would NOT RECOMMEND!!! Follow up based on company response: the website only has one exhibit that states it is closed. It does not mention the other exhibits at all so you would have to know what they had before to realize half of it is closed. Secondly, you are incentivized to buy tickets ahead of time online for a discount so the signs at the front desk when you arrive are not helpful. This is fraudulent behavior on behalf of this organization.

Negative experience: Waste of money, 20$/person, adult or kid 20 mins we were done, there is nothing much to see for 20$, no otter, no sharks, there was alot missing to see. our kids liked the little sand box more than anything else in this small place

Sheldon Boyd 1 year ago

Positive experience: Our recent trip to Living Shores aquarium was great! It was a nice family outing that was both fun and educational for my 10 year old son. The staff members we encountered, in particularly at the admission desk, were friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and they offer free locker rentals to store your belongings. It's a very small aquarium, but the exhibits are well done and maintained. The touch tanks are really the star of the show here, and we spent lots of time going between tank to tank. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money to feed the stingrays. That was a neat experience! Overall, we spent maybe an hour and a half here before feeling like we'd been through everything at least twice. This place is probably best suited for the 12 and under crowd. Older children and adults will likely get bored long before they spend enough time to justify the ticket price. They don't accept cash either, which is unfortunate.

Michael “Mike” Breton 1 year ago

Positive experience: The touch tanks are excellent, the staff are great, and the space is pretty. But there were very few educational labels for the creatures housed here, and about 45 minute stop for most family's. Animal label issues could be temporarily solved with a laminated sheet of paper. I had to catch staff to ask the contents of every reptile tank and no one knew where "nibble fish" were from. (A:Red garra come from the middle east, if that's what they are...)

Leah H 1 year ago

Negative experience: Getting to touch stingrays is cool but that's about it. This is our 2nd visit. The first time there were birds and otters. This time those were gone. None of the reptiles were labeled and there was no information on what you were looking at. There's a nice sandbox but there should be a rug around it since its so slippery. Given the price and the lack of attractions, we won't be going back.

Ed / Lindsey Skurkovich 1 year ago

Negative experience: Not too happy with the combo ticket with Storyland. The aquarium is extremely small with barely any fish. How can you charge $20 for this? Should be included with Storyland. The most disappointing aquarium that we have been. Do not waste your money.

Darawish Os 1 year ago

Negative experience: Waste of money. The place looks big from outside but there is barely anything to see once you go in and they charge a lot of money. We paid almost $100 for 3 of us including a child. We walked into one room, thinking there is much more but no! Shockingly underwhelming. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend.

DESTINY ORTEGA 1 year ago

Negative experience: Red foot tortoises have inadequate basking spot. Poor things are freezing cold ): Reptile area- zero animals labeled. Dirty glass. All in all, zero stars. It’s one room and they charge $20-$25 a head! You would think with all the money they are scamming out of people they would at least have things in order, such as basic animal care.

Ariel Morley 1 year ago

Negative experience: To begin with, our wait time exceeded the time it took to see everything in the aquarium. There was one staff member checking people in (at least 60-70 people in line) just to try to force people to take pictures that they want to sell you later. The aquarium itself is one large room and half of the exhibits are closed. One of the sinks was broken so another 10 minutes waiting in line just to wash your hands to enter. The touch pools that did have animals were extremely tall for my 2.5 year old and I had to hold her over the ledge as many other parents were doing as well. We paid for sting ray feeding but the person working in the gift shop was very short with us telling us we were five minutes early then immediately letting two other people go ahead who were scheduled at the same time. We didn't end up staying because I was so put off by her. We spent 30-40 minutes in the aquarium and that was realllllly stretching it. Overall incredibly disappointing given what we paid. Negative experience: I brought my daughters here to keep them busy during expected rain. Very small exhibit. One small room and the bird exhibit was closed. I wish they would of told us while we were getting our tickets. We spent all of our time hanging with the stingrays.

Julia Belanger 1 year ago

Negative experience: Worst experience I've ever had at an aquarium. I wish I could give it zero stars. First of all, do not get tickets in advance! We got there and they did not have the otters or birds anymore, so what we had was a 5 minute walk through of fish tanks, with almost half of them being underwhelming and barely stocked. There were about 10 unlabled small reptile exhibits and only 2 of them had animals in it. What I believe was an emerald tree boa was actually emaciated. It was quite disturbing. I'd have to say with the steep 25 dollar price tag, I will never be going back. What a money pit.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time as always. 5 year old had a blast with the Nibble fish and the stingrays. Can't wait to get back and see what the new bird cage looks like when it is done!

Negative experience: I urge people not to come here right now, not until exhibits are replaced, we spent almost 90 dollars and ended up very disappointed, two major exhibits were closed as well as an empty tank, there also wasn’t much in the touch pools. I feel like the website should have left a bigger and more noticeable notice about certain exhibits being closed, honestly felt kind of deceitful charging full price for what was experienced, they could have at least charged half price, again really warning people not to go unless you want to just go through in 5 minutes to pet a sting ray, truly disappointing

Negative experience: My husband and out 2 and 3 year old children were so looking forward to this but were extremely disappointed! It’s just a small hallway and one small room with tanks that have none of the sea creatures they advertise. The tanks are set up so high that they prevent the kids from even seeing them, never mind touch! $100.00 for 3 of us and our 2 year old was free. Waste of money!

Negative experience: “Mother’s Day special” first time going, fully understand it was busier than usual. The price of admission was great but was discounted due to Mother’s Day. I would say this should be the price anyways. The line… it was so long we almost left. Standing in the parking lot in line seemed very strange. Once you think you are getting to the counter you have to then walk all the way down the hallway and continue to wait. The wait was about an hour. To then get inside to 4-5 pools that my 6 and 8 year old could barely reach. The space between the water and the edge of the pool is to great for small children so do not expect to actually touch the stingrays or sharks. The otters were in their pen but were blocked off, still wondering why that could be. Overall it’s a 30 minute experience with children with small arms. 1 hour to wait for overpriced admission on normal days. I’ve been to story land a hundred times and I would never return to this money grab of an aquarium.

Negative experience: We visited on Mother's Day, and purposely went an hour before they closed to avoid crowds. That was a good call, not at all crowded. The positive: the touch tanks were fun, especially enjoyed the nibble fish and rays. Great promotion on this day-free for moms and half price for kids. The negative: very small aquarium. It is good for a 45 minute visit, which is fine BUT admission price should reflect that. The regular price is crazy expensive. The other and bird exhibits were closed, which was very disappointing. We were only given one free admission ticket to use another time, which is basically useless since the regular admission price for others is not at all affordable. Staff members were not keeping an eye on kids who were not following the rules (picking up sea animals, splashing water in the tanks, throwing things in the tanks). Overall it was a nice one and done visit on a promotion day, but I would never pay the regular admission price, it is really over the top. A fair price for what you can see and do would be $10 per person.

Positive experience: We had a fantastic time at the Aquarium with our toddler. The staff was absolutely wonderful - friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the sea life. Our little one couldn't get enough of the amazing sand play area! The projector showing fish swimming on the sand was a genius touch. They also loved the touch tanks, where they could see and feed different kinds of fish. There were so many interesting creatures to discover in all the smaller tanks. To top it all off, the gift shop was a hit - we found some adorable sea creature toys and a great book about ocean life. Highly recommend this Aquarium for families with young children!

Positive experience: It's a nice little aquarium for little ones, our kids had a great time visiting and playing in the sand at the end of the walkthrough.

Negative experience: If I could give a negative star rating I would. I don’t recommend the aquarium. I literally left in tears as a single mother to three beautiful girls that went out of my way to celebrate myself and my time with my girls for Mother’s Day. For starters, I was told one thing by the ladies at admissions in front to go let their photo know we wanted our pictures done, and was located next to the gift shop, and he told me I had to get it done in the beginning and it’s all I wanted as a Mother’s Day gift to myself and left without it because he wasn’t going to make it right for me for their lack of communication. Not to mention after traveling an hour and a half from Portland, Maine to Glen, NH to get there. We had to wait 45 minutes in line and made us have to go by their bistro and gift shop first time around, which just made it very hard for my young kids because they wanted to go there but we couldn’t get out of line and wanted to wait to be given the option afterwards, and had to exit forcefully through the gift shop since there was no other way out besides the entrance and not being given the choice if we wanted to go there or not. It was all just in ill taste and nothing was fun about it going there I am just disgusted over all with the staff, their set up and their “organization” of what very little choice and exhibits being shown there was. My kids didn’t even have fun and were incredibly stressed before we even made it through the line.

Fantastic experience: This place was great and well worth it. Went there with my girlfriend, my brother and his girlfriend. It’s not a big aquarium, but you get to touch various marine life, see some reptiles and stare at the adorable sea otters push their slide into a pool. There was a bird exhibit as well but we did not explore it. We read the reviews prior and we were a bit nervous, but we all believe they were expecting a Sea World level aquarium. This is a hidden gem in the area and recommend it to everyone who thinks touching sting rays is cool.

Fantastic experience: I am so glad I drove the hour and 20 minutes to bring my 11 year old son here. He had the BEST day and it was so cool how we could interact with almost all the animals like petting them, feeling nibble fish on our hands! Haha and feeding sting rays and birds! 3 birds landed on me and I overcame my small fear of birds! We can’t wait to go back. P.S please fix the tags on the lollipops with the jelly fish, it says $8.99…however when I looked at my receipt later in the car, it said I was charged $10.99 BEST aquarium ever, it was awesome!

Marci Kennedy 1 year ago

Negative experience: I drove an hour and a half to get here, spent $65 for 3 tickets (bought online with the discount) and we were done in less than 45 minutes. Some staff members were friendly, others were not. But mostly I think charging $20+ for a 3 year old is outrageous. This is a nice aquarium, but it’s tiny! It is not worth more than $10 per ticket. It is definitely not a 1-2 hour experience. Also, the touch tanks were too deep for my toddler to reach in. Overall, the experience was a disappointment because it wasn't worth the price or the drive.

Fantastic experience: Cute little aquarium, it has an amazing view from all ends of the place of the mountin! we loved it!! The otters were so cute, and the staff were nice and had lots of knowledge and answered questions! The sharks were adorable!! I'm glad we got to pet them along with sting rays, nibblefish, and starfish! I love that I got to hold the snake! Recommend this place! The prices are fair for the location and being a small place! The food was good we got the stake and cheese wrap and a pretzel with beer cheese!

Fantastic experience: My family had an AMAZING time here today! It was a rainy Friday and this was the perfect thing to do! My little 3 year old niece was having such a great time with the aviary and the otters! Our family does want to give a big shout out to one of the workers on the floor. She was an educator and her name was Caitlin! She was only in high school but she was super KNOWLEDGEABLE! She was so friendly and wanted to talk to us the whole time about all this place had to offer. She deserves a raise because she did an amazing job! We will definitely be back again next year!

Fantastic experience: Travellers, this is a tiny aquarium but it is packed with charm and stuff to do. The staff is extremely helpful and answered all our questions with a smile. The exhibits are fun and well described. There were many different ranks of fish and aquatic wildlife. There were snakes and turtles and otters, all happy in their ranks. The otters are very playful and liked showing off for the little kids. All the fish seemed to like to take a photo with the crowd. They were as curious about us as we were about them. The e y also had nibble fish, lots of types of skate fish, stingrays, and guitar fish. And there is also an aviary full of gorgeous rainbow lorikeets. These birds will land on you but are very gentle. There guide in that exhibit is well informed and answered all our questions. This is small but it is a local gem. The food is in the cafe is delicious too!! Check it out. We recommend. TLDR- small family friendly and a gem

Fantastic experience: Awesome experience for two adults, probably even better for kids. Cute little place with a fair amount to see and inexpensive. Loved petting the stingrays and the nibble fish were such an experience. They live up to their name. Would definitely return.

Melissa Pappas 1 year ago

Positive experience: Small aquarium, many species. They are a growing aquarium, use to be heritage New Hampshire, which was awesome. It is overpriced for what you see and can do.The otters are fun but only one small window with a bench to view them swim. Which a couple never left for us to watch them too. The birds were all hibernating from a long busy vacation week. Head to Boston Aquarium, it’s so much more worth it.

Negative experience: Bought tickets online and drove an hour and a half and this aquarium wasn't worth the drive or price. Very small, took 10 minutes to literally see everything there. Sure you could play around with the touch tanks but that's about the biggest entertainment this place has to offer. So if you want to spend hours sticking your hands in water trying to touch the stingrays and other forms of sea life have at it. If you ask me it's definitely a tourist trap and not worth it. The staff was very unfriendly and sometimes awkward as well.

Fantastic experience: We took the grandkids here for a birthday gathering. They had a blast. Staff was helpful and friendly. Smaller, but fun aquarium.

Fantastic experience: I was with a camp group that went to Heritage NH the first week it opened and my wife and I were there the last day when Heritage NH closed for good. I knew that the facility was being converted to an aquarium and this is the first time we've been able to go since it opened. We were NOT disappointed! The touch tanks were awesome! The lorikeet aviary was manned with very knowledgeable staff and we paid to feed them! We also bought stingray food to feed the stingrays! Wait until you experience the Nibble Fish! All the exhibits are well marked as to what you are looking at and if you do have any questions, any of the staff will answer those questions! All in all a great place to spend an afternoon!

Fantastic experience: Great place! Small enough that you can enjoy all that they have to offer without being overwhelmed and tired. The staff is very friendly! My kids 3, 5, and 14 year old did not want to leave.

Positive experience: Small aquarium, but still fun for my 4.5 yr old. She loved the nibble fish who nibble on your hands! It kind of tickled! There are free lockers to store things in and they are strict about the no food or drinks in the aquarium.

Fantastic experience: My husband took me here as an anniversary gift and we brought our kids. They take our pictures before we walk in so at the end you can buy souvenirs with the pictures and walking in is an amazing experience. There are so many fish to look at and they even have touch tanks so you can touch fish and stingrays and even star fish! They also have little reptiles in tanks too that you can look at. My husband also paid for us to feed the stingrays too which was a fun and cool experience because I've never thought I could ever feed my favorite animal! They also have otters which our little ones loved watching them play and swim around. Trust me this for me was a 10/10 best family experience I've ever had!

Fantastic experience: First time visiting the Living Shore Aquarium, great place, I have been going to Story land for many years since I was little kid. I would recommend the Aquarium on a rainy day when you have nothing else to do. Make sure to buy the tickets online cause if you buy them in the building they are $5 more. They are $20 online.

Fantastic experience: Super cute, fun, small aquarium to visit! They are open year round right next to Story Land! Not as chaotic as going to the larger aquariums and great for kids or adults.

Fantastic experience: Such friendly staff, clean place, and so much fun! Super educational place to learn and all the interactive tanks were awesome. We will come back the next time we are in town!

Positive experience: Too small for what they charge. I think it’d be worth it if it was half the price of what they charge. It’s basically a few touch pools, a couple of fish tanks, and a tiny reptile area. The “rainforest” area with the birds was closed when we went. My toddler appreciated the interactive sand box area the most.

Positive experience: It is a very small aquarium. But it comes with quite a few petting zone and we get to see the axolotl which is incredibly cute.

Fantastic experience: Great way to spend a rainy afternoon while camping. The kids had a blast and played with the Rays until closing. The staff was very informative and very engaged with the kids.

Positive experience: Small little aquarium, fun stuff to do with kids. One thing that's special about it is they have those little skin sucking fish in the touch pool. And the otters are cute. It was also relatively quiet when I was there.

Haylee O'Brien 2 years ago

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with my experience. Waited 30 minutes with 3 kids to get in just to be turned away because our stroller was "too big". No stroller rentals were available and was told a refund cannot be made at the location that I would have to email customer service and try requesting one. Also nothing on the website states what strollers are allowed vs not allowed so would highly recommend them adding that in seeing as I had no other option. Such a waste of money and time.

Fantastic experience: We stopped at Living Shores with my two children (9/7) and my nieces (4/2) and all had an amazing time! The touch tanks were fantastic and the coloring station had everyone, including the adults, participating. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: Wonderful little aquarium, perfect to fill up a few hours on a unexpected rainy day. Basically all touch tanks, which is so much fun! And a few cute birds. My 4 yr old and even my 16 yr old really enjoyed themselves.

Fantastic experience: We went here having low expectations knowing it was a smaller facility, but ended up spending a couple hours at this wonderful little aquarium! We spent so much time in the touch tanks, especially the nibble fish and sting rays…the rays were so funny and friendly! The lorikeet bird exhibit was wonderful (there a ton of birds! Anyone saying there were only 3-5 birds are either blind or dumb), and we really enjoyed watching the otters. My daughter adores touch tanks and if that isn’t your thing then maybe skip this place, but for us it was amazing. Lots of space inside to not feel crowded which was nice. We will definitely go back!

Fantastic experience: We had a great time! The staff, while very busy, were all very friendly and helpful. Our little one was thrilled with the size of the native fish. I don't think that a very little one would like the touching tanks, they wouldn't be able to reach easily. Our 4 year old had a tough time in a couple tanks, overall he loved the "tickle fish" (garra rufa) we spent a great deal of time there!

M Merrill 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: I give it 5 stars for what it is! Small location, but they've made the best of it. 15, 12 and 1 yr old had fun. Stayed for about an hour and a half. It's worth it if you're in the area and not much planned. Definitely pricey for what you get, but I just say it's for the animals :) It is very clean and the animals seem very happy!

Fantastic experience: Awesome, great time we love it. We feed the sting ray was amazing.

Paul G 2 years ago

Positive experience: So everyone has their own interests and choices and this was not the best thing for me and my family. one hall with few aquatic species & otters, and a rainforest with exactly 3 birds. We were in and out in 15 minutes. For another person it could be much more interesting and involved we're just not that into it. The employees were super nice and helpful though, and nice facilities to wash up and all after touching fishes.

Tania Dominguez 2 years ago

Positive experience: I wish i could give half stars. This would be about a 3.5. For the price of admission, it was a very small aquarium. They had three or four touch tanks, which my kids loved, but we were done very quickly. A very small section of reptiles (maybe 10 enclosures). The bird enclosure has a handful of birds. The otters were entertaining and energetic. I think that if I could have paid half of what I did, then it would have been worth the price, but to call it an aquarium is a stretch. There is a gift shop at the exit and a food court. Right next to storyland.

Fantastic experience: My family and I recently visited over this past weekend and really enjoyed all the fun activities and many touch tanks this aquarium had. We actually preferred this one over the Boston aquarium. There were so many fish, animals, and sea life. We loved how everything was low enough for the little kids to enjoy with various touch tanks, animals, ocean life with lots to do. There was alot of friendly staff helping us out and providing educational information. Various food and drink options and felt great to be in the AC after hours standing in long lines in the hot sun at Storyland. There were zero waiting here and no crowds or lines. The gift shop here was awesome with alot of variety and the kids loved getting their very own gigantic octopus and xylotil. We loved the shark and ocean pictures we purchased thanks again for a great time we cannot wait to come back and visit again.

Fantastic experience: Perfect activity for a rainy day! Lot of touch tanks where you can interact with fish. Our party of 10 loved it.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent little place. Prices are reasonable. It's in a small indoor area which was great for not losing kids. Several touch tanks with lots of friendly fish. The nibbler fish were very cool nibbling on your hands. The indoor bird area is awesome. Overall great experience for anyone.

Avrik Franz 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Place was an absolute blast! The whole family really enjoyed it. The touch tanks were the best things by far and we could've spent the whole day interacting with the stingrays and sharks. The nibbler fish were also quite the fun experience! Even more to do with the birds and otters, no other aquarium I've been to had such an interactive experience. Absolutely coming back again.

Luke Johnson 2 years ago

Positive experience: Went on father's day, so me and my 2 yr old were free, my wife and 6 yr old paid half price. Total with one stingray feeding was 36$....which is about what it's worth....very small venue. Lots of interactive petting pools, but nothing you won't find at a larger aquarium for pennies more.....if only attending the aquarium, only plan on 1-1.5 hours out of your day. Although my children had a great time, I feel the Boston aquarium would have been worth the extra effort, and in this case, story land should have been our destination.

blake lemere 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Went today for Father's day! Great deal. Half off for everyone else. Best value of the year. I actually liked this aquarium was smaller. My kids were not overwhelmed. We loved the bird feeding. All the touch tanks were really neat. The staff was very friendly except for one disgruntled older lady working the Cafe. I don't think she likes her job unfortunately. Other than that one unfortunate employee we had an awesome time!

Positive experience: The place was great! PLEASE DON’T wait in the long lines for the birds. They DO NOT COME DOWN! And there is only like 5 of them. I LOVED ALL OF THE OTHER ATTRACTIONS! ITS $5 off if you BUY ONLINE!
