Fantastic experience: Love this place. We drive over an hour just to shop. Super healthy fish, friendly staff and of course the best cat ever. Only down fall is pricing. I wish it was more transparent on the tank. U will get a surprise at the register.

Negative experience: Bought 3 fish, over $150, lost 2 of them, and 1 the following day. The water test was perfect. Called them on it, and they said all their other fish from the same tank are fine. Asked if they had some kind of warranty and the said no.

Fantastic experience: What a gem! Lovely Pets Aquarium is a must for the fish enthusiast! It's refreshing to have an actual fish store with knowledgeable people. Goodbye Petco/Petsmart, hello Lovely Pet! Excellent product selection for both fresh and saltwater needs. We made the switch from saltwater to freshwater before this store opened because the chain stores had limited supply and the fish were tiny. Now we have acces to a local store that offers SO much more, we may add a salt tank again.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful & clean store. The owners are very nice & knowledgeable. They have everything you need & on the rare occasion they don't they will order for you. They even have goldfish & bowls. No waiting for the circus to get one. Great for beginners. I love wandering through the aisles of fish tanks. The lights on the tanks enhance the peaceful atmosphere that I feel while watching the fish swimming lazily or darting back & forth. My favorite are the saltwater tanks, with octopus, live coral & other sea living creatures. (No live mermaids yet.) If you haven't been, take a few minutes to stop in & stroll around. It's a very relaxing place!

Fantastic experience: They give great advice on tank health and will analyze your water sample. I have a very territorial Betta that plays soccer with my tank snail, I was joking that I was going to flush Frank Jr. and they offered to take him off my hands and out of my tank. I really do love Frank Jr. I was able to secure a tank mate that can co-exist with Frank Jr. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Came here about 5 years ago when I set up my first saltwater tank and just the other day when I was setting up my second planted tank. Plants look absolutely stunning and are in amazing shape. Fun store in general they’ve got a nice kitty and some funny pups.

Positive experience: 4 stars for how friendly the staff are however, store is cluttered, and prices are crazy high.

Fantastic experience: This place is an absolute gem! My older son was ready to upgrade his first fish tank to a larger tank and pass down his old tank to his younger brother. It was well worth another 10 minutes drive to go here vs the big box store. The owners know their stuff inside and out and helped up make the right purchases and upgrades so that everyone is happy, and we have two well-run aquariums. Their knowledge seems to be 100X what you find at the big-box pet store, and they stock a much wider variety of fish and everything related to fish. I didn't bother to compare prices but if they were more expensive, I would pay more every day to support a store like this over the big-box pet stores. Whether you're relatively new to fish as we are, or an experience fish keeper, this is the place!

Fantastic experience: Love this fish store! The owners, Steve and Marley, are so great to work with and so helpful if you’re just starting out or have an issue going on with your tank! We went from having no fish tanks to now having 5 because it’s such an addicting hobby! So thankful to have this store near me! Always a great selection of fish, freshwater or saltwater and beautiful coral!

Fantastic experience: These guys are fantastic. They have significantly helped me in my long process of setting up and maintaining my first 125 gallon tank. The fish they sell are all very healthy and well kept. The owners are unbelievably knowledgeable and so easy to ask for advice. Will be using these guys for all my plants, decor, and fish for as long as they are around. Keep up all the hard work you guys do have done by tending to all the large variety of fish you carry. Looking forward to my next visit

He has a long history in tropical fish after starting his business in Quincy Ma. years ago. When someone owns and runs his own shop the service you receive will be the very best. Fantastic experience: I didn't go for myself, but was with a person served in my work program. The individual is in a wheelchair and it can, at times, be difficult getting him entry into buildings. The staff at Lovely Pets Aquarium were so accommodating; holding doors, giving access through the designated emergency entrance, and welcoming us. Once inside, the sales associates were very attentive; responding to all inquiries and making suggestions. You'd be surprised (I was) at how much there is to know about aquatic life for home aquariums. The Kingston area where the store is located is quaint and lovely. One associate recommended we try a few places, particularly a newly opened bakery in the area. More could be said but enough for now. If you're looking specifically to purchase fish and supplies for your aquarium, this is a highly recommended place to go.

Fantastic experience: I loovvee this place!! I am new to the saltwater tank hobby and was having trouble with my new tank. They gave me some really good advice that I followed and now my tank is thriving and I finally have corals in there too!! Can't say enough about how awesome this place is!! They really care about there customers and there fish I travel a little bit of distance to this store and its really paying off 10 out of 10 all around:)

Fantastic experience: The absolutely best location for aquarium needs anywhere on the south shore. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and the livestock are always healthy and I've never had issues with anything. They also do special orders and have a pretty good salt water collection. Prices are certainly higher than big box stores, sometimes twice as much, but it's more than worth it to introduce healthy, clean, reliable livestock every time. I should also note they have a really interesting contact rotating variety of fish and shrimp!

Fantastic experience: This place is great! Steve and his wife run the shop and they couldn't be any nicer to deal with. They're very knowledgeable on everything they sell (and don't have). I was setting up a new African Cichlid tank and had made countless visits buying a bunch of different pieces and ultimately fish. They were patient with my numerous trips to look around or ask questions. I selected each of my fish which were handled with care. This is an all around good local fish store which I like to support VS a corporate chain. It's definitely worth visiting even if you're not close by. You won't be disappointed

Each of there tanks are individually filtered for healthy fish and plants. Everyone there is super friendly and very helpful in deciding whats right for your needs. So much so they turned my daughter into an aquarist. Its very therapeutic for her. Thanks to everyone there.

Fantastic experience: If i could give more stars I would! Marley and Steve are the best. There are so many different types of animals in this shop. Frogs, axolotls, eels, and pretty much anything you could imagine from salt water to freshwater. Tanks and accessories. Coral and live plants. They are EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful. They will work with you every step of the way to get up and running safely! Best of the best!

Fantastic experience: Hands down best independent aquatics store I have ever seen in this area! All staff were exceptionally friendly (well the cat was a little picky with people ). I found a great selection for aquascaping and saw all stocking options in great health! I was encouraged when I asked to see a plant's roots before picking it, and they double checked that I knew how to prep my driftwood! Prices were on par with a great deal for the quality you are getting too! They carried all the best foods too. I added some pictures of the water hyacinths, baby banana plant, and driftwood from here in some of my tanks. I think I just found my regular aquatics store, can't wait to go again! -Sam

Fantastic experience: Owners and staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Stock is healthy. Huge variety of healthy plants for freshwater, live rock, and coral. Massive varieties of shrimp. They are always helpful in recommending products even if they are directing you to somewhere else to get what you or your fish need.

Negative experience: Sold me African cichlids with ich. Never returning to this place again. Ruined my established aquarium. Absolutely terrible business. Dirty tanks and dead fish. I should’ve known better Edit: I only originally bought my fish from a different store in Millis and had them all for 8 months and they were fantastic and healthy. Then I bought 2 small light colored cichlids from you guys, which were overpriced for their size now that I look back on it. Then a couple weeks later your fish already died and then all my other fish started getting white spots and patches growing all over them. Then I had a huge die off and lost my beautiful tank leader Elongate Mbuna. All my yellow and white tail Acei one by one. Yellow labs, a very rare bright yellow red eyed albino lab, Kenyi, Daktari, Cobalt Zebra, Elongatus Chewere all dead. I treated my tank for ick and now have about 9 survivors left of the original 25 healthy ones I had. I don’t know how you could make things right as these fish really meant a lot to me.

Fantastic experience: Lovely Pets is the best Aquarium Store. They were very helpful, explaining in detail how to move an established 75 gallon salt water aquarium. Moved the tank, live rock and corral with out a hiccup because of their help. The store is extremely well stocked with fresh or salt water tank supplies, fish, and equipment. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. Lovely Pets is my new go to store for anything Aquarium related.

Negative experience: My wife and I went in there. The woman that worked there told my wife that she should get a dog so she would have a reason to get exercise. I was furious and confused. My wife is in wonderful shape and certainly not overweight. Maybe she was just jealous. Needless to say I'll never go back.

Fantastic experience: I drove over an hour to go to this aquarium after seeing the great reviews and I was not disappointed! The employees are very friendly and helpful and they have a large selection of fish and other supplies you might need. There are also tons of beautiful corals. My two lil' mocha clownfish are already doing great in their new home. I will be returning when my tank is ready for more fish, and at some point corals. Thank you!! Definitely worth the long drive.

Fantastic experience: I used to go to their Quincy, MA location and just visited Kingston for the 1st time last night. A little bigger so better selection and more spread out. Staff, from owner down, are VERY nice, polite and knowledgeable. All the marine life are extremely well maintained and healthy unlike most other places. Would highly recommend visiting/shopping here! Definitely going back for my saltwater tank asap

Fantastic experience: This place is the absolute best of showing owner pride and being a small business that you want to support. I got into salt water aquariums a few months ago and had zero clue on what I was doing. They have been incredibly informative along the way and I can see when my fish get stressed due to water conditions. I go there and they tell me what I should do and my tank gets right back into shape. Would highly recommend over the chain stores. Better people, better products.

Fantastic experience: My 9 year old daughter wanted to get something for her beta fish . We stopped in and they recommended a snail. She picked out a purple one which is already been named violet . The people there are great and they have a awesome selection.

Negative experience: I was just there, trying to help an elderly woman who was having an issue making phone calls. I was accosted by a young, probably teenager, with brown bushy curly hair. Telling me I was taking up three spots (I was not, thats absurd). He was very rude to say the least. Ironically this was my first time coming to this place, I have wanted to check it out for months. Before being rude to people, how about this, put some signs up. Take some responsibility

Fantastic experience: Great selection of freshwater fish, from beginner fish like guppies to advanced like fw stingrays. Once I get back into reef tanks this will also be my go to LFS. Great selection of corals, reef fish and inverts. They once had a peacock mantis shrimp !

Negative experience: I have no idea how this place has so many solid reviews. My experience was quite the opposite. Also I wouldn't purchase live plants from them unless you want snails and detritus worms in your brand new tank. I expected so much more from a family owned business.

Fantastic experience: The staff are extremely helpful, I'm a beginner at fish tanks and they answered all my questions and discussed they do free water testing. Also a huge bonus that they have dogs and cats free roaming the store whom love pets!!

Negative experience: Went to this store today to get a new fish tank. This was our first time visiting the new location, but we’d gone a few times when they were still in Quincy and really liked their stock and knowledgeable staff. Today, when we went to enter the store we noted the sign outside saying there’s a limit of 10 people in the store at a time due to COVID restrictions. We were surprised that they didn’t say anything when we entered as there were at least 12 other people that we counted inside. We saw that the woman who works there was walking around without a mask, and two of the guys working there had their masks below their noses. So we turned around and left, and we won’t be back. Bummer.

Positive experience: Amazing store with very knowledgeable workers I wish the fish where a little less in price but I guess you get what you pay for. I was told one price got up to the counter and it was different I didn't wanna argue so I just paid the price. I purchased some beautiful driftwood as well it took me forever to boil the color out idk if it was just the shipment or the piece of wood. I wish we lived closer or there was a store brought near me.

Fantastic experience: One of the last mom & pop fish stores. The owners truly care about the customers and the product they sell. I have purchase dozens of salt water fish from them over the years!! They are very knowledgeable and their new(er) store (Kingston, MA) is much closer however even when they were in Quincy they were always worth the trip.

Fantastic experience: Definitely the place to go if you're looking to stock up on fish, and unlike most pet stores nowadays this one carries both freshwater and saltwater fish! Prices are a little bit high, but the quality and variety make it well worth it. They stock their tanks regularly, and have all kinds of aquarium supplies, pretty much everything you can think of. I would highly recommend this store if you have an aquarium and are looking for either supplies or to restock your tank. Employees are very nice, and really seem to know what they're talking about, they also really seem to care about their job and making sure that you get what you need, it's not just all about making the sale at this store, they would rather you buy nothing at all, then to buy something that you don't really want or need just to make a sale!

Fantastic experience: This place was lovely! I usually go to the larger chain stores, however I have been completely converted. I inquired about purchasing some female endlers and despite not having them in stock they offered to special order them for us. Customized service is lovely and the store has anything and everything you could possible need. I plan on doing all of my aquatic shopping here from now on. Beyond amazing!
