Fantastic experience: I think nemos, wreath, it's an awesome. Fish aquarium to purchase exotic fish! It's a large store with a modern field and amazing selection, a fish corals. It's really neat and lards, and I love the way they have. The tanks corresponding to the different screens on the wall that show you the price of the fish. I feel this gives you the independent way of browsing the store and seeing the different prices of the fish you're interested in purchasing. This is an awesome touch, that's that sets nemos, reef. Well above and beyond the other stores that i've purchased many fish from. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Fantastic experience: Nemo’s Reef is second to none in terms of customer service, expertise, and knowledge. I was most impressed with how they talked me out of a few things I was interested in based off of what I told them of my reef sizes and current inhabitants. They suggested others more suitable I had not even thought of, but glad I went with their advice. Charlie became my personal liaison (although I think every employee helped me at some point). I took the day off to visit here for a two hour drive, and it was well worth it.

Negative experience: The experience my father and I experienced yesterday was really unfortunate and could have been handled a lot differently. The young owner presumingly in the black shirt was very disrespectful and rude, refusing to sell us any further fish (more or less banning us from his store) if he gave us this refund because we opted to return a fish that died that was in the 2 day window of the guarantee. He had no issue telling this to our face in front of his employees. A different fish that died that we returned was not the same fish and we were not provided the same results that were given to us before. As we explained to the original person helping, they are 2 separate beings/cases and not a "double warranty" issue as there is no such thing when they aren't the same fish. We would not have traveled 1.5 hours one way to return a fish that died if we were going to be banned from the store by exercising our right as a customer. A customer shouldn't have to concern themselves if they are going to be banned from buying fish at Nemo's Reef because they returned a dead fish. The lack of understanding and appreciation of our business was highly evident. We have bought more fish then we ever returned and to be treated this way as if we did something wrong, was how we were thanked for our business of spending close to $1,000 cumulatively over the last few weeks. I've never had a owner or a manager of a business made me and my family feel like we were unworthy of buying anything in his store when we had fully attended to buy more fish and spend more money, not only within this same store trip but in the following week. As anyone knows who has salt water aquariums in their homes or businesses, this is not a inexpensive hobby. The person in charge should treat customers with more empathy and respect, instead of acting like he's upset he had to speak with us at all.

Negative experience: one had TWO experiences in 2 days that really floored us, We had a fish a BLUE HIPPO that we got and it had died within the two day period so we came back with a water sample and the fish, They tested the water and said the nitrate was SLIGHTLY high and that was it, They issued the credit and I spent another $96 less the credit for a powder blue tang and a sailfin tang, On the second today I found the sailfin had died, THIS WAS IN THE SAME EXACT tank as the hippo which that water was tested. so I brought it with another water sample but this time was TOTALLY different. At first they said that this was NOT covered under the warranty since we had already used the warranty SO their LOGIC was if you buy a tv and it breaks and they replace it with another tv and it breaks you are SOL. Then they said my salt level was a little high, HIGHER what they keep theirs at and mine was 102.8 I then asked why is the same exact tank too high when 2 days ago it was fine, The excuse was he probably did not test the salt level, Which that adds to my argument that if it was a little too high 2 days ago and He TOLD ME, then I would went home and adjusted the level but they did not. the one that was in charged did not want to hear it, Cause the argument from him was were are killing the TWO tangs that we got but he FAILED to look at my purchase list as I also have a powder blue tang from him IN THAT SAME TANK and is still alive. Then he said in an AGREE VOICE give him the refund but do not sell him anymore fish? SO he is guaranteeing ALL HIS FISH are in PERFECT HEALTH, so if that is the case WHY A WARRANTY? the DAY we before we purchased 3 more fish but NOTICE several fish that LOOKED DEAD IN THE TANKS and also several very stressed, I sent a message too him and it was no they were fine and no dead fish at all in any of the tanks, l was JUST TRYING TO HELP. That response was I been doing this for 20 yrs. Great so this is UNREEL, 20 yrs no dead fish, no disease fish and no problems at all, I DROVE 70 miles to return the fish with the water, IF I was told that the level was too high I would have lowered it and the fish MIGHT still be alive. SO REMEMBER THIS just like car insurance YOU GET IT aka a WARRANTY but you are NOT expected to use it and oh my god if TWO Fish die at what YOU BELIEVE is no fault of YOURS, YOU are made to feel like a criminal and be told you can NEVER buy a fish again from them, Really is funny though I was going to spend another $200 today and even more next week on the next shipment. I do NOT trust the health of the fish nor do I like a person to speak that way to me, I am a senior citizen, a veteran and disabled, NO REASON to speak to me like he did, and the last thing he said in a Total SA way I AM HAPPILY REFUNDING YOUR MONEY. What is HAPPILY my good little boy is you saved me a lot of money and LONG DRIVES to get to your place, you are just NOT WORTH IT.

Fantastic experience: I rarely take the time to leave a review, but I feel compelled to share my experience with Nemo's Reef. Several months ago, in June or July of 2024, I entered Nemo's Reef with the intention of purchasing a Jack Dempsey cichlid. Interestingly, this was my first visit to a saltwater fish store. During my initial encounter, I engaged with Chris Luc regarding the transaction, which piqued my interest of saltwater aquariums. Approximately a week later, I returned to the store and acquired my first 5-gallon saltwater tank along with a pair of small clownfish. After several months of owning that tank, I made the decision to invest in a larger setup. I collaborated with Chris and Kevin and ultimately opted for a RedSea 200 G2 Max. Upon the arrival of my order, Kevin and Noah came out for the installation. They provided a thorough walkthrough of the tank's functionality, parameters, and a variety of related topics that I had previously not understood. Since that initial interaction, I have had the pleasure of working with Carson, Charlie, and several other knowledgeable staff members within the store. At no point did I feel pressured to make any purchases (well, there was that one time with Noah, just kidding!). Instead, the staff demonstrated extensive knowledge and genuine passion for the hobby, as well as sincere care for their customers. Since the initial setup they have come back to install a RO/DI system and just like the first time everything was perfect. In the coming months, I plan to construct an even larger tank, and I would not hesitate to seek guidance from any of the staff members at the store. It is refreshing to see a business model where customers are prioritized, and Nemo's Reef stands out as an exemplary case; they are more like extended friends, than that of a traditional retail experience.

Negative experience: Don’t do business with Nemo’s reef. They sell sick fish, they lie to you, they are rude, and they don’t care about anything but your money. We lost hundreds of dollars worth of fish and corals because of this store. To your reply. Yes, you have sold us fish. It’s the only place we purchased from. When those fish died from ich that they had when we brought them home, the employees working at that time did not take it on themselves to help. There is so much turnover in the store, there is no consistency, very unorganized, and again, you only care about the money in your pockets, and not keeping loyal customers. We have been patient and understanding, very loyal customers, until we were told today we lied about what we’ve been told for the past 4 weeks. Again, do not do business with this reef store.

Negative experience: My wife came in and purchased 5 fish (3 Raphael striped catfish and 2 Bosemani rainbow fish). While in the store, she was told the rainbow fish were "prone to get ich". Well, she wasn't sure what ich was at the time but looking back she remembered seeing the obvious white spots on them in the store. When she got home and put them in the tank she looked up ich and it was blatantly obvious that they had ich in the store. As a store owner of a fish place you'd think they would know that the fish they sold had this disease because its easy to spot once you know what to look for. It appears they just wanted to sell the fish and not care about the ich. Well fast forward a week and literally EVERY fish she purchased from this store is dead and had ich. They may try to say that we don't know how to maintain an aquarium but we've had this aquarium set up for quite a while with ZERO mortality of other fish. The fish purchased from Petsmart are still doing well but the fish purchased from Nemos are all dead... strange coincidence it would appear dont you think? This place seems to be shady and just want your money not caring about the health of the actual fish they sell or the health of other fish in your aquarium. Now a few others have contracted this same disease and we are treating the tank. Thanks a lot Nemos, hope you lose some business or become more ethical in your sales.

All who assisted me there were very helpful and saved me $200.00 when they advised me to try and replace the power adaptor first from Amazon which only cost $10.00!!!’

Fantastic experience: I have been using Nemo’s personally and sending people to Nemo’s for years! I have bought multiple tanks from them and every time I need help or advise they are always willing to take the time to listen to me and explain why certain things are happening and how to prevent them again without selling me things or making feel like I need to make purchases. All the staff is very knowledgeable and care about the reefers coming to the store. Post update- I was in the store on 7.30.2024 when the lady below visited Mrs. Adams who left a negative post and wanted others to see the other side of the story (look at other reviews from this poster). I will say this lady was one of the most rudest people I’ve seen to the way she talked down to the staff and tried to get things for free and discounts (shame on you). Max a seasoned employee there tried to answer her questions and she was more focused on trying to get a discounted or free dosing machine then berated other employees so bad that the whole store was looking at her (very inappropriate) and unwarranted. I was waiting in line behind her so I could get my water tested for Magnesium with a digital reader as I was getting uneven results at home. She complained as well about having to pay taxes on the item she bought like you do for anything purchased at any other store or online. To recap this store is in a great location in Indian Trail with amazing employees and a massive selection of beautiful fish and HUGE selection of corals and tanks (new and used) and supplies to start reefing if your new or even to maintain your reef. Thank you Nemo team for your commitment to the reefing community.

The store was very well equipped with saltwater fish and coral which was really exciting to see all of the colors and different exotic fish. This was a two hour drive to visit and definitely worth the trip. I will certainly return.

Negative experience: I recommend not ordering online. They don't respond to emails so I had to call them during their business hours. They told me the shipping cost is actually 3x the price listed on their website and couldn't give me a clear answer when I asked why the listed price on their website did not reflect this. I told them to cancel my order.

Fantastic experience: Today I had a great experience at Nemo's reef In Indian trail North Carolina The staff there was very patient with all my questions and gave me great information. Truly appreciate when someone takes the time to answer the questions that I have especially because I am new to this hobby. I need as much info as possible. Max is the person that helped me today he was of great help and extremely knowledgeable he suggested that I get two clowns to start with for my first editions in my 180 gallon salt water tank. I highly recommend people stop by and check out what they have to offer. The store is set up nicely and they also have a wide variety of fish and corals and a multitude of aquarium products check them out. I will be a return customer in the future.
