🗣️ Children's Aquarium Dallas at Fair Park: Reviews
Positive experience: Super cute aquarium! Definitely recommend going at least once! It was worth the day trip!
Positive experience: This is a beautiful aquarium. Lots of amazing sea life plus sharks, rays and a sea turtle. They also have the fish that eats off dead skin when you put your hands in the water. The only problem is they don't close the door to the outside and so the inside stays really hot during the summer. Great place to visit though.
Fantastic experience: The Children's Aquarium Dallas is an ideal destination for kids, offering a perfect balance in size and crowd, ensuring a pleasant and relaxed experience for families. With its exceptional holiday-themed events and activities, we visit this aquarium several times a year and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone with children.
Shaun, thank you so much for leaving us a 5-Star review! We’re so glad you’ve recommended the Aquarium for anyone with children. Please keep visiting!
Positive experience: Born and raised here, and still—every time I go out sightseeing, I find somethin’ new to admire. That’s the magic of Dallas.
Positive experience: Nice place for kids but little confused on parking and could b lot better with more variety of fishes
Hi Asma, Thanks so much for the review and for visiting! We’re glad your family enjoyed it. We also appreciate the feedback on parking and fish variety. Free and up-close parking is part of what makes Children’s Aquarium one of the most accessible family attractions in the Dallas metroplex, so if we fell short of that during your visit, we’d really appreciate the opportunity to hear more. Please give us a call at +1 (469) 554-7340. As for the animals, we’re always exploring ways to bring more variety to our exhibits — and we’ve got some exciting additions in the pipeline. Hope to sea you again soon! —The Children’s Aquarium Dallas Team
Fantastic experience: A fantastic experience for the littlw.ones. lots of touch and feel exhibits. Lots of amazing creatures. Even stuff you don't see every day. Tanks need a little more care some are little dirty. But great over all.
Hi Chad, Thanks for the great feedback — we’re thrilled to hear your little ones had a fantastic time exploring all the touch-and-feel experiences and discovering some of the more unusual underwater creatures! We really appreciate the note about the exhibits, too. Our team works hard to balance care for the animals with visibility and presentation, but feedback like this helps us tighten things up even more. Hope to sea you again soon — we’ve always got something new bubbling up at the aquarium! —The Children’s Aquarium Dallas Team
Fantastic experience: My grands love the children’s aquarium, they said SpongeBob lived here
Hi Donna, This made our day — we’re honored to be mistaken for Bikini Bottom! If SpongeBob ever needs a vacation home, we think he’d fit right in here. So glad your grands had fun — we can’t wait to sea them again! —The Children’s Aquarium Dallas Team
Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful time visiting from PA! It was the perfect way to escape the rain with two small kids. Lots of animals to see and we even got to feed the sting rays! Wonderful experience we can’t wait to do again.
So glad we could be part of your rainy day adventure! Thanks for spending time with us— hope to see you again next time you're in town!
Fantastic experience: The Children's Aquarium is a really fun place for kids. The interactive exhibits are engaging and educational, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and it was not too crowded either. Definitely recommend!
Hi Abilee, Thank you so much for the kind words! We’re thrilled to hear your visit was fun, interactive, and welcoming — that’s exactly what we strive for. Our team works hard to make the aquarium feel hands-on, educational, and just the right size for kids to explore comfortably. We’ve got new events and themed weekends happening often, so we hope to see you again soon — there’s always something swimming your way! —The Children’s Aquarium Dallas Team
Fantastic experience: Was absolutely an amazing experience ❤️ definitely will be coming back! Very hands on good for all ages! The staff is very informed on their animals and were very helpful!!!! 10 out of 10!!!
Hi Lauren, This review made our gills flutter — thank you! We’re so glad you had a fintastic time and that the hands-on exhibits and friendly team made it memorable. Since you mentioned coming back — here’s something to consider: annual passes are just $30 for adults and $20 for kids. And each member gets unlimited admission to the aquarium all year, plus a free ticket to the State Fair of Texas. It’s one of the best family deals in Dallas — and all the fish agree. Hope to sea you again soon! —The Children’s Aquarium Dallas Team
Fantastic experience: The kids loved it and its not overly priced. You can touch sting rays and starfish.
Hi Cindy, Thanks for the great review! We love hearing that the kids had a blast — and that you found the experience affordable. We work hard to keep it hands-on and family-friendly, so we’re glad you got to enjoy the stingrays and starfish. Next time, don’t miss the fish manicures with our doctorfish or the chance to get splashed by our archerfish — they’ve got surprisingly good aim. Hope to sea you again soon! —The Children’s Aquarium Dallas Team
Fantastic experience: My son rated it more than five stars. All of the staff was very friendly and we loved it. Especially the axoltyls.
Hi Renee, Tell your son we’re honored — more than five stars might be our favorite rating yet! For the record, we rate our guests more than five stars too. We’re so glad you had a great visit, and we’ll pass your kind words along to our team. And yes — the axolotls are total fan favorites… and honestly, they’re pretty smug about it. Hi Mary, Thank you for the five stars! We’re so glad you had a great time — and that the experience lived up to our name and our promise: fun for children and those that are children at heart. That picture in front of the giant Pacific octopus is fantastic — you caught one of our most curious creatures in action! Fantastic experience: We love the aquarium here! Great for all ages and affordable.
Thank you! We’re so happy to hear you love it here- see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Love this place, always have. Hopefully it will continue to enrich kids lives with aquatic life.
Thanks for the 5-star review! We plan on continuing marine education for many years to come!
Fantastic experience: Arguably the best aquarium in DFW. We are NEVER disappointed after a visit here. It is small enough to not overwhelm little ones, but large enough to spend the better half of the day. It is also conveniently located near other attractions at Fair Park
Thank you so much for your amazing review! We can't wait to see you back again soon for more hands-on hands-wet fun.
Fantastic experience: Petting the friendly sting rays was cool. Lots of interesting fish to check out.
Thank you for the awesome review & pictures! Hope to welcome you back soon.
Fantastic experience: We went twice. It’s small enough for young children to enjoy and still have fun. It lasted an hour for us and that was just enough (for parent’s sake ). My kids didn’t want to leave, so I recommend checking out the surrounding museums too. Stay and explore.
So glad your family had a great time! Thanks for making us part of your day and we can't wait to see you again soon.
Fantastic experience: Inexpensive half day trip. Kids enjoyed the petting the stingray.
Thank you for the kind words and lovely pictures! We are glad the stingrays were a hit- Thanks for spending part of your day with us. See you again soon!
Fantastic experience: It's a perfect spot for field trips if you work with little ones. Not to big and very compact to get your students controlled all in the same space.
Thanks for the kind review- We love being a fun and manageable spot for all learning adventures! Hope to see you and your crew again soon.
Fantastic experience: We spent about 1 1/2 hours there. It was well worth the visit. We got to pet the sting rays, which is included. You can buy bags of dirt to sift for rocks and gems in the large slueth they have out front. The Butterfly Exhibit will be next, it is a separate charge per person.
Thanks for your review- Sounds like you made the most of your visit! Glad the stingrays and gem mining were a hit. Hope you love the butterflies next!
Fantastic experience: Aquarium that is perfect for young children! Well kept, clean exhibits, super friendly staff, and all the marine life are well cared for :) you can pet stink rays, starfish, spinky urchins, horseshoe crabs, and experience dr.fish giving you a manicure lol.
Thanks for the lovely review! We’re so happy your crew enjoyed the hands-on fun—Dr. Fish manicures are always a surprise favorite!
Fantastic experience: If you want to relax and have a great time the fair park aquarium is The place to go!!!
We appreciate your kind review! We hope to welcome you back again soon.
Fantastic experience: Staff was friendly and accommodating and the aquatic creatures were very engaging and and it is clear that they are well cared for. As a bonus, we were also there in time to meet their big bull snake and Squash, the bearded dragon. Watching the angler fish feed is also a blast!
Thank you for the kind words amazing review! We are glad you got the most out of your visit and we can't wait to sea you again!
Fantastic experience: Got to pet the stingrays!!! Wonderful date.
Thanks for the awesome review! We look forward to welcoming you back.
Fantastic experience: Fun and cute little children’s aquarium infair Park. I will say finding it within Fair Park took a few minutes and lots of people wanted to charge us for parking due to some concert or festival in the area. However, parking is free and you can park decently close Overall the little children’s aquarium museum was small and quaint, and had a good selection. They have an outdoor (although covered) area where you can pet the manta rays in a tank. This was a big hit with my kid, as well as many of the other kids there. We did notice a few birthday parties going on with mermaid themes, which probably would be fun if your kid was into that.
Thanks for visiting and sharing your experience! Hope to sea you again soon, maybe even for a mermaid party!
Positive experience: Kids loved the tiny sucker fish and feeding the sting ray. It’s a smaller aquarium, so you go through it quickly. Nice activity for the price, though I’d have liked the octopus to have a larger habitat.
Thanks for the visit and thoughtful feedback- Hope to see you and your family again soon!
Fantastic experience: It’s a great place for the kids and it’s very very very clean and nice. We enjoy.
Thanks for the lovely review- We hope to see you back for more family fun!
Fantastic experience: The Children's Aquarium is a fantastic place. The interactive exhibits are engaging and educational, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!"
Thank you so much for the kind words! We're so happy you enjoyed everything. Hope to see you again soon for more fun and learning!
Positive experience: This is our third time here. My kids really like this place. Specially fish spa and sting ray touch. This aquarium is good for couple of hours.
So glad your family keeps coming back! Hope to see you again for visit number four!
Fantastic experience: Our kids also love coming here to see the fish and especially the octopus. Getting the year membership is always worth it as much as we visit.
Thanks for the lovely review! Love to hear that your kids enjoy visiting— A membership is definitely a great way to keep the fun going. See you again soon!
Fantastic experience: This place is seriously the best! I’ve been taking my kids here for years and they never get tired of it. We usually end up spending at least an hour or longer just taking our time looking at everything. I love that it’s not too crowded or overwhelming like the main Dallas Aquarium. We went there once and never returned. The Children’s Aquarium will always be my favorite. Their staff is so nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for another great visit.
We’re so happy to be your go-to aquarium! It’s great to hear your family enjoys the experience and our amazing team. Thanks for your support—we’ll see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Its been a while since we went and I was looking for options for Spring break and came across the aquarium and definitely wanted to add them to our list for a visit if not this week then for sure another weekend! The last time we went the kids both had an amazing time! Definitely worth it! Ticket for adults is $15 Ticket for under 18 is $10 It's free for kids under 2 years
Thank you so much for your informative and fin-tastic review- we can't wait to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: We became members before ever going to the Aquarium. And we're so happy we did! My kids 7, 4, and 2 love walking in, their faces light up, and their imagination goes wild. We were fortunate to see the stingrays and sharks being fed. We learned that a sea turtle in the tank was rescued after being hit by a boat. How amazing it is to have this poor baby being cared for by amazing humans. This is such a good idea for any weekend or weekday. Definitely check out their IG page to learn about the events coming up and plan ahead.
Thank you for being a member and sharing such a wonderful experience! We hope to see you all again soon for more hands-on, hands-wet fun!
Positive experience: Good price for admission. It's kind of small, but my grandson loved stingray bay and we spent a long time petting stingrays. Would definitely go back.
Glad to hear your grandson had a great time at Stingray Bay! Thanks for visiting—we’d love to have you back again soon!
Fantastic experience: We’ve been here a couple of times with grandkids. Very well maintained and set up perfectly for intimate learning experience for the kiddos. There’s also opportunity to touch the Mantas. The staff were very friendly and patient.
We love hearing that your grandkids enjoy their visits! Thanks for your kind words about our staff and exhibits- we are looking forward to your next trip!
Fantastic experience: It was our first time visiting this aquarium and it was a nice experience my kids loved it! The staff was nice and welcoming, we all loved touching and feeding the stingrays. The little fish that eat on dead skin were so cool.
Thank you for visiting! We're so glad you and the kids had a great time and got such wonderful pictures. See you again soon!
Positive experience: A bit smaller than I thought it would be, but nevertheless still a wonderful time was a had by the kids, they enjoyed seeing the aquatic life and learning more.
Glad to hear the kids had a great time! We love making learning fun and exciting. Hope to see you all again soon!
Fantastic experience: New To Dallas But Back In CA Where I Moved From Went To Aquariums A Lot. This Little Spot Was So Fun To Bring Our 3 Year Old. Has Interactions And Feeding Areas Too. Great For All Ages.
Welcome to Dallas! We're so glad you and your little one had a great time and enjoyed the interactive experiences. Hope to see you again soon for more fun!
Fantastic experience: The Children loved this attraction!!! This place and the Attendants/employees were super nice and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience! Thanks to Omar for excellent customer service!!! We had the last slot for 3pm for the Sea horse party package on 1/25/25 and as a parent and a customer I am totally for this fun family and educational experience!!! This is a must see attraction and please book a party room as I did, you won't be disappointed!!! Very cool place for the entire family!!! They offer two party packages Sea Horse party package and, or the Stingray party package $250/$400!!!
Thank you for your awesome review and photos! We’re so happy to hear the kids had a blast and that our team made your visit extra special. Hope to see you and your family again for more unforgettable moments!
Fantastic experience: This is the perfect aquarium for the value it provides. Instead of spending hundreds at SeaLife come out to the Dallas Aquarium. As of 1/25/25. The price for an adult is $13.95 and children $9.95 for kids with a family style membership is $80 for for a family of four. Be sure to checkout the Dr Fish and Stingrays. These are interactive experiences where you can touch the animals.
Thanks for the great review and pictures! We're so glad you found the aquarium to be a great value and enjoyed the interactive experiences. Hope to see you and your family again soon for more hands-on fun!
Positive experience: Easy to walk through and lots of displays to see! It’s not huge which is both a pro and con. With little ones, it can be nice to get in and out quickly but also depends if you’re willing to pay the admission fee for a pretty short duration of entertainment. Luckily, we had only a little bit of time to kill, so this was the perfect spot for our family! It’s nothing too fancy but fun nonetheless
Thanks for your review- we are glad to hear you and your family had such an fin-tastic time!
Fantastic experience: I brought my baby here and it was perfect! All the exhibits have a big glass wall so it was very easy for him to see the fish, even from the stroller. The stingray exhibit was so fun and I loved getting to see the cute sea turtle wearing a life vest! It is $15 to enter but you can get a year long membership by just paying $15 more. Would totally recommend for any parents with young children!
Thanks for visiting and thanks for the kind review! We're so glad your little one had a great time and that the exhibits were easy to enjoy from the stroller. Our hands-on hands-wet stingray exhibit is definitely a fan favorite. Hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Small aquarium, pretty pricey for the size. On the other hand, great for toddlers and smaller kids. Move at your own pace. Most exhibits are eye level for toddlers and strollers. Friendly staff. Great interactive stingray exhibit. Best part, free parking and right infront of the building! Overall, I would choose this aquarium over the Dallas World Aquarium, due to accessibility for strollers and toddlers.
Thanks so much for your review! We’re glad you found the aquarium to be a great experience for little ones and that the accessibility and friendly staff stood out. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
Fantastic experience: My teens had a blast petting and feeding the stingrays. I literally stayed for like 2 hours while enjoyed being kids. lol
Thank you for the 5-star review! It is great to hear that your teens had a great time with the stingrays—it’s always amazing to see them having fun. We hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Exceptional Experience at Dallas Children’s Aquarium! Our visit to the Dallas Children’s Aquarium was absolutely delightful, thanks to the incredible staff and thoughtfully designed exhibits. We arrived at 10 a.m. on a mellow Thursday morning, and it was the perfect time to enjoy a relaxed and educational experience. A special shoutout to Star, Summer, and Remy, who went above and beyond to make our visit unforgettable: • Star introduced us to the fascinating sight of fish jumping to eat. Her enthusiasm made learning so fun! • Remy guided us through an incredible stingray encounter. We purchased two pieces of clam, and my 3-year-old daughter had the joy of feeding and touching the stingrays. The excitement was worth the water splashes—bring a backup shirt for your little ones! • Summer charmed us with her knowledge, showing us the fish tank where tiny fish give playful “kisses” when you put your hand in. Such a unique and interactive experience! Garra rufa! The educational opportunities were endless. We loved the peaceful ambiance, and the back area with blacklight decorations and tanks was perfect for creativity. Great for sensory kids! My daughter enjoyed the provided coloring activities while surrounded by a glowing underwater world. As a mom who has visited countless zoos and aquariums, I was blown away by the unique sea creatures here, especially the very large pufferfish, 3 leafy seahorses, and the alligator snapping turtle. They’re rare finds you don’t just see everywhere! The outdoor aquarium area was another highlight, and we captured adorable photos with the giant octopus statue in front and the vibrant chameleon display inside. For just $25 for both of us, it was an affordable, hands-on homeschool field trip. Don’t skip the gift shop! We grabbed a small memento to support this wonderful establishment and its mission to care for marine life. Thank you to the team at Dallas Children’s Aquarium for such a fun, educational, and memorable day. We’ll be back! ✨
Thank you so much for your incredibly thoughtful review! We’re thrilled you and your daughter had such a memorable visit, and we’re glad our staff made your experience extra special. We appreciate your support and can’t wait to welcome you back soon for more fun and learning!
Fantastic experience: We had a fabulous visit. My five year old grandchild loves the stingrays. She was at the stingray tank for over an hour, eventually learning how to pet the stingrays and feed them. The facility is exceptionally clean and the staff friendly. If you go on Tuesday Thursday or Saturday, you may be able to watch the staff feeding the large fish. I learned things I didn’t know, and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Also…parked for free at the front door. A win!!!
Thank you for the fin-tastic review! We're thrilled your grandchild enjoyed the stingrays, and we're glad you appreciated our clean facility, friendly staff, and convenient parking. We wish to welcome you back again soon!
Fantastic experience: So cool. The Aquarium is a great place to ho with little people. Check out the back (stingray reef) for a fun and educational time. Don't miss a chance to dip your hand and pet them.
Thank you for the awesome review! We're so glad you and your little ones had a great time—especially at the stingray reef. It’s such a fun and hands-on experience!
Fantastic experience: The Children's Aquarium is always a great choice when trying to add a little excitement and education. Tickets are very reasonably priced considering all of the aquatic life on exhibit. Our favorite part of the visit was being able to pet the stingrays. We highly recommend the Children's Aquarium.
The Children's Aquarium is always a great choice when trying to add a little excitement and education. Tickets are very reasonably priced considering all of the aquatic life on exhibit. Our favorite part of the visit was being able to pet the stingrays. We highly recommend the Children's Aquarium.
Fantastic experience: This aquarium is so much fun! We enjoyed it even more than the one downtown. There were interactive activities and many different types of sea creatures. We will be visiting again.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your experience and we can't wait to 'sea' you again!
Positive experience: Great break from the State Fair heat, but pretty expensive for its size. Lots of cool fish from all over the world and a you can pet sting rays. They have a red garra tank, they eat the dead skin off your hands. Cool experience for all ages.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re glad we could offer a cool escape from the heat. We’re proud of our diverse collection of fish and unique experiences like the red garra tank. We hope to see you again for another adventure!
Fantastic experience: Texas State Fair is a very fun place to visit. My grandson likes the children's Aquarium. He learned a lot from there.
We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your time visiting durning the Texas State Fair, we hope to see you back soon!
Positive experience: This aquarium is old!!! It was built in 1936 but it has cool stuff to come in and observe. If you're budgeting this is a great place to go if you compare it to the Dallas aquarium. You can watch all the stuff in like an hour or so. We got disappointed when they told they were going to feed the octopus and nothing happened. Parking for the place is right out front and it's an easy walk to the aquarium.
Fantastic experience: Cute place. We went when the fair was not going on. Parking is easy if you know where to go (I didn't at first). Being there right when it opens makes it hard because you don't see other cars around. It's obvious what to do once other cars are there. First, you will feel like you are driving where you shouldn't. Even another car was lost like I was at first. There are signs by the big fair lots saying parking is in front of the museum, but they have no arrows. Best way I can explain it is drive up the slight curb onto the cobble style road and have your GPS literally bring you to the front door. You can park on either side of the "road" or in front of the band shell building which is what we did. They almost need to put signs along that band shell and on the road saying parking for aquarium. See 2 extra photos of screenshots from maps to see what I'm reference. As for the aquarium itself, it takes about an hour to go through at a normal pace. You can make it last longer if you want or if your kids need to stare at each animal for more than a minute. It starts indoors and then goes outdoors (covered) to see stingrays and then goes back indoors. There is a little gift shop at the exit that you can buy bags of dirt with hidden rocks. Take the bag out front and use the water station to have them "mine" for the treasures. Cute concept, and the kids ended up just playing with the trays and water for a bit.
Fantastic experience: This place is amazing! It's just the right size for our family so we can go for as little as 30m or stay as long as 2hrs. They frequently have fun kid-friendly activities outside, and they've done multiple theme days with little giveaways for the kids. 100% recommended. The membership pays for itself very quickly.
Mike, we are so happy to hear you are enjoying your membership! Thank you for your kind words.
Fantastic experience: Very well maintained and monitored, but allowing children and parents to fully experience aspects of the fish with several hands on activities such as touching stingrays and other small fish.
Fantastic experience: I was explaining Archer fish to my family and we got a demonstration. I didn't even know that was on my bucket list. I was excited like a little kid!!
Fantastic experience: Small but a great way to spend 1-1.5hr with the kiddos. Several interactive stations with the fish (sting ray in particular) and lots of interesting animals to see (wide variety of fish, octopus, sharks, even saw a huge spider, eels, bugs of sorts). My 4 year old grandson had a blast there today.
Fantastic experience: So fun and so beautiful! This place really looks like they take care of their animals and the staff were really sweet. I love looking at the pufferfish they have and feeding mantarays!! Pretty small but lots of fun!
Thank you very much for your amazing review! We take great pride in providing a safe and loving environment for all of our animals and are thrilled to know our staff’s hard work does not go unnoticed.
Fantastic experience: Did not know this existed. Around 30 bucks to enter for wife and I and our 1 year old was free. Liked it enough to just pay the 30 more dollars for the annual membership. You can pet sting rays, you can have your fingers nibbled on by those fish things. Small location, but makes it easier if you have a kid to get around.
Fantastic experience: Omg where do I start! First very affordable prices and the staff is truly amazing. From answering questions with patience to understanding ticket troubles. This aquarium is truly a wonderful place to bring family and friends for enjoyable activities to interactive opportunities. Thank you so much for doing a great job to everyone who works here!
Thanks for the positive review, Emily! Our staff is passionate about what they do, and it's wonderful to know their dedication made a difference in your visit. We'll be sure to pass along your compliments to our team. Hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Fun place for a small day trip, fun interactive exhibits, stingray petting and $5 feeding option, good variety of animals, live feeding viewing, animal skills demonstration, live animal petting, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Favorite activity- Doctor Fish experience
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed all the amenities our aquarium has to offer. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Fantastic experience: I hosted my daughter's 5th birthday here and have never met a staff more dedicated to helping guests have an amazing time! The aquarium is the perfect size to walk when you have small children and has highly informed, personable staff ready to educate at every turn. There is a clear dedication to the animal's quality of life that us heartwarming to see. My daughter hasn't stopped talking about her party and I haven't either as it was absolutely perfect and such an amazing deal for the affordable price. James did our animal encounters and made the whole experience enjoyable for even our more wary family members.
It means the world to us to hear how much you and your daughter enjoyed the day, and we're honored to have been a part of such a special occasion! We’ll be sure to pass along your compliments to James and the rest of the team for their hard work. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Fantastic experience: This was such a fun experience for my family! My 2 year old niece got to touch two different animals, and all of the exhibits were so cool!
Positive experience: First visit, entry is under $15 for 2 & up. Annual membership is only $35. There's enough to see while still small enough to not feel overwhelmed. The sting ray exhibit is a hit, but it was closed during our visit. Overall, fair experience. The interactive screen is nice too.
We're glad to hear you enjoyed your first visit with us! We apologize for the stingray exhibit being closed during your visit. We're constantly striving to improve and hope you'll be visiting again soon to experience all our exhibits fully!
Fantastic experience: My son has so much fun petting the sting rays & putting his hands into the tank with mini fish. He's a sensory learner, so he gains a lot of knowledge from being there. He loves it when I get him the sack of stones or fossils when we leave. It costs extra, but he gets a chance to sift through sand looking for treasure. The museum has a card that he can match them to & he talks about the entire ride home, including into the evening. It's well worth the investment.
Thank you for the great review, Rebecca! We are glad your son enjoys all of our hands-on, hands-wet experiences and we cannot wait to see you again soon.
Fantastic experience: GREAT PLACE to Visit with kids at 1h30 pm they feeds the shark then kids can Pet the Stingrays in the lobby as soon you walk in you have a free Dead skin Removal from the littles friends they are really nice my little daughter was a fraid at First then she did not want to leave the place from either Stingrays or the Dead skins removal fishes You guys Have a wonderfull place CONGRATULATION FOR THE HARD WORK ON THIS PLACE !!
Thank you so much for your enthusiastic review- your kind words about our aquarium mean the world to us. We can't wait to welcome you both back for more exciting adventures!
Positive experience: Staff was friendly with a variety of fishes to see. There are a couple of interactive exhibits. This is a smaller and older aquarium but looks well maintained. Pricing is very good and not too crowded. Free curbside parking available. Visited a Saturday with no other events nearby and there were fair amount of parking. It doesn’t have a parking lot but is street parking.
Thank you for your kind review and choosing to spend your time with us! We are glad the convenient and nearby parking was something that made your experience even better. We hope to welcome you back again soon for another enjoyable visit!
Fantastic experience: This was an unexpected treat to take my son to while on vacation! Very fun experience, highly recommend this aquarium!
Scott, we appreciate your review and support! Next time you’re in town, we would be thrilled to see your family again.
Fantastic experience: We love this aquarium. We have enjoyed every trip We have made to this aquarium. Our kids are now teens and still love this aquarium. Animal encounters every couple of hours. We love feeding and petting the sting rays! The staff is always kind and welcoming.
Thank you for leaving us a 5-Star review! We are so happy to hear that your kids have grown up with us and still enjoy all of our hands-on, hands-wet experiences. Hope pm to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: We took our 11 month old and she absolutely loved it. We were shocked how little people were there and it was so nice to be able to take our time looking at everything without feeling like we were blocking other people. Parking was free and the entry fee for the aquarium was extremely reasonable. The staff was very kind and the person working at the sting ray exhibit was incredibly patient and answered all of our questions. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking to fill a morning or afternoon with fun for the little ones!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love aquariums and exotic coral and freshwater fish. The children's aquarium has a great variety across there complex and never fails to entertain
Positive experience: We went on a field trip and all the kids enjoyed themselves, inside activities and outside activities.
Thank you for leaving us a great review! We are happy the kids had fun and hope y’all come back soon!
Fantastic experience: What a wonderful aquarium! The tanks were clean and well designed, and the animals look to be extremely well taken care of. The stingrays were fun to feed and the doctor fish were really cool too. (They eat your dead skin cells; no it doesn’t hurt). The staff members were friendly. I’d definitely come back if I’m in the area again!
Sierra, thank you for leaving us such a wonderful review. We’re happy you enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you again soon for more hands-on, hands-wet fun!
Fantastic experience: We drove all the way from odessa tx. Because my daughter was turning 16. She wanted to pet the sting rays. Last yr we went to San Antonio aquarium. Not only did we get to spent hours petting sting rays. But the little petting zoo outside. Plus, the street fair. Lots of interesting activities. She loves animals. Everyone was so kind and did not mind that teenagers still liked to hang out with the fish.
Thank you for leaving us such a great review! We are so happy you took the time to drive in from Odessa for your daughter’s special day. Please come back for more hands-on fun this summer!
Fantastic experience: We love the Childrens Aquarium Dallas at Fair Park! They host great events (touch a truck, superhero day, scuba Santa, movie nights, etc) and have so many interactive exhibits. Our favorite are the stingrays, the doctor fish, and the archer fish exhibits! We have season passes and I love that it's small enough to see the whole thing in a couple of hours, but every time we go, we see or learn something new. We plan to continue to renew our membership.
Sarah — thank you for leaving us such a great review. It makes us happy to know that you’re interacting with the animals and enjoying the hands-on activities and fun special events. Thank you for being an annual passholder. We love our members! See you again soon.
Positive experience: The aquarium is okay! I don’t think it’s worth 15 dollars for entry! It is very small! They have a room when you first enter with aquariums, then they have where you can feed the sting rays probably the coolest part about this aquarium. The food to feed them is 3 dollars for small pieces of part of a fish. Then they have a secondary part which is a little bigger area where they have eels and iguanas and so forth with kids to color. By the exit they have the fish to eat the dead skin off your hands (my sons favorite) then a tiny gift store. Call and check if there is a field trip there because if so it will be packed especially since it’s so little. Overall you would better off be going to the Fort Worth zoo, it’s cheaper and you get access to an aquarium and animals with a play area! Better bang for your buck!
Fantastic experience: This place is a gem! We went with our almost 3 years old and she had a blast! The aquarium itself was not too big, but very interactive. We went on Easter Sunday morning and it was not busy at all. They have a diver as Easter Bunny in the tank that made our visit very memorable. The stingrays were also very friendly.
Fantastic experience: We visited with our 9 month old and had an AMAZING experience! We were visiting Dallas and had some time in between Dr appts for my son, so we decided to stop by. Even for my not-quite-walking son, he had so much fun looking at everything in his stroller and even standing holding our hand by the stingrays! Everyone was so nice and the person by the stingrays even helped us find a spot where my son could see. We had a relatively big stroller and were able to go everywhere with ease, and there are ramps outside as well so it would be easily wheelchair accessible. Every person we encountered was so kind, helpful, and receptive to questions! I so recommend for families of all ages!
Lindsey, thank you so much for giving the Aquarium such an amazing review. We know your experience will be a valuable guide for other families. We’re so pleased you chose us for your family’s free time and hope to see you again on your next trip to Dallas.
Positive experience: It's was packed, but you could still see and interact with the creatures. The employees had much patience with everyone and were good at explaining things.
Fantastic experience: My boys love it here. you can pet the stingrays and they have doctor fish. Its such an awesome aquarium.
Positive experience: This is great for bringing smaller children it's pretty small, so its easier to manage them. There are 2 indoor rooms and an outside exhibit. I think the aquarium could be maintained a bit better. We went early and saw several dead fish. Staff could also work on their customer service and friendliness.
Fantastic experience: Our visit to the Children's Aquarium in Dallas was fantastic! Navigating with strollers was a breeze in the well-designed layout. The relatively uncrowded environment allowed our children to fully enjoy the various interactive activities. While a few exhibits were under construction, the only suggestion would be to add more signs for additional information on current exhibits. Despite this minor aspect, it was an overall delightful experience for our family, resulting in the creation of some truly enjoyable memories. Tickets are $13+ for adults and a season pass is $32. If you plan to go more than 2 a year it’s worth the season pass. Kids 3-12? Are $9 a ticket or $32 a pass. So if you go 3 times a year it’s worth getting them a pass.
Thank you for leaving such a great 5-Star review! We’re happy your family had fun and look forwato seeing you again soon.
Fantastic experience: There are so many great things I can say about the Children’s Aquarium @ Fair Park. My favorite is Stingray Bay, I also really enjoy walking through looking at all the different exhibits. They even had a live Santa in the tank, taking pictures with the kids for Christmas! Their guest services associate Zacari, can literally walk you through the entire building, giving you facts & interesting information about just about everything in the building lol. She is VERY knowledgeable, friendly & outgoing! I would recommend a child’s party here!
Negative experience: It is a very small aquarium, but the tickets were comparably cheap compared to most aquariums (less than $30 for two adults!) Probably could've walked through in less than 20 minutes, but there are some seats to sit down and stare at the fish to take up more time. There is a sting ray petting station and a gift shop to spend more time inside too.
Fantastic experience: Coming here, we didn’t know what to expect. But it was a lot of fun looking at all the exhibits. Love that there’s interactive exhibits - feeding the sting rays, petting them, and the doctor fish. We enjoyed listening to the interactions and getting to ask questions. Highly recommend visiting here!
Fantastic experience: The kiddo and I had a great time! There were a few families here during this Monday afternoon so we got to meet and pet a few stingrays, reptiles, and take pictures uninterrupted.
Fantastic experience: Our two grandkids loved this adventure into aquatic life. Amazing displays and exhibits. They spent the most time at the stingray tank petting the stingrays. A great time spent and an excellent value.
Fantastic experience: We brought our kids to this children’s aquarium and they had so much fun . We have a 14 month old , 4 year old and a 12 year old . We all enjoyed it including us parents . We took our time going through and it took us about an hour not including the time in the gift shop. We paid $52 total for tickets- a Family of 5 and spent $30 in the gift shop we Each got a souvenir around $5-10 It’s not the biggest aquarium but it has lots to see and you get to touch the sting rays !!! The staff are all very welcoming and so nice . There was no Wait time to get in (we also purchased our tickets in advance ) . We arrived at 10:30 on a Saturday so a hour & 1/2 after opening and it does get busy quickly !! After we finished the aquarium we walked around and seen all the gigantic dinosaurs statues , walked the bridge to cross the pond , seen ducks and turtles . Definitely overall a great experience!!! 100% Recommend if you’re looking to get out the house and need an affordable family friendly place.
Fantastic experience: Great variety of sea creatures. Our 3 year old was delighted. He safely petted a small stingray. Worth the money spent.
Positive experience: Great place to take the family. It's alittle aquarium so it doesn't take long to go through. The girls were allowed to pet the stingrays. Very hands on and knowledge workers.
Tammy, thanks so much for leaving us a great review. We appreciate it and are glad your kids petted the Stingrays and had fun. Please come see us again soon!
Fantastic experience: We had the absolute best time. We visited the sting rays for like 40 min and very much enjoyed the nibbling fish the air was amazing for a hot day .Its worth the money to go and I know it goes to careing for the place .I will say I had no idea I could park right next to it b/c its in fair park so now you know that would have made things a little easier
Fantastic experience: Small but nice and clean. Wasn't crowded and the kiddos enjoyed themselves especially when feeding the stingrays.
Fantastic experience: My family has core memories of petting and feeding the sting rays! It's not too big and easy to walk through. There's so many other things to do in close proximity as well.
Negative experience: Its a little overpriced for what's there.. unless your kids just really want to pet stingrays. It took us only 30-40 minutes to walk thru the whole thing and we went back to touch the sting rays twice.
Fantastic experience: My sister rented out the Children’s aquarium for my nephew’s 2nd birthday party. It was a great experience for the children and the adults! Highly recommended for a child’s birthday. Parking was free and onsite— right next to the venue/aquarium. They offered the private booking for 3 hours which included everything from the aquarium experience to the venue which included tables, chairs, table cloths, cutlery and plates, and even some decor. The day of all we had to do was set up the cake table, balloon garland and birthday backdrop. There was a tv in the room so we brought our own Amazon firestick from home & set up cartoons for the kids to watch during the dinner portion of the party. After dinner, we headed to the aquarium nextdoor and had the entire place to ourselves guided by amazing staff. They were so attentive and enthusiastic about the animals. We saw so many exotic fish, had an animal encounter with “squash” the bearded dragon, and fed stingrays. I hadn’t visited the Dallas Children’s aquarium since an elementary school DISD, field trip so it felt nostalgic returning as an adult!
Fantastic experience: The Children's Aquarium, is located inside Fair Parking. A great place to bring your kids to see live sharks and stingrays.
Fantastic experience: Very kid friendly! I have been bringing my kids here for 11 years and they still love it!! Their favorite thing is to feed the sting rays.
Hi, Adia! Thank you for leaving us a 5-Star review we’re so glad to know your kids are growing up enjoying all the hands-on, hands-wet animal adventures here. Have a great summer and come see us again soon!
Fantastic experience: This is a nice comfortable outing for small children ages 2-6 to me. I took my 2 y/o grandchildren and they had a ball. You can touch the string rays for free. A bonus. They ran around in the rooms and I was snot to keep up with them. It’s small enough for you not to worry. A nice selection of marine life. A activity room to color as well. And it was inexpensive. Thumbs up for me
Kamilah, thanks so much for leaving us a great review. We’re so glad you and your family had fun and hope to see y’all again soon!
