Negative experience: The experience is not for adults totally for children the exhibit is small and there is not large exhibit at the end of the experience. Not worth the cost very disappointing

Negative experience: Price was way more in person than booking online. (Advertised as $20 per person and we paid closer to $30) Military discount wasn’t available in person. It was cool but no where near worth the price you pay. They did validate our parking but for what you see and the price, it wasn’t worth it.

Positive experience: A very nice aquarium but the staff needs some training. I was told that there was no difference between ticket price buying in advance and buying them at the aquarium.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful place! Educational and entertaining for the kiddos. Even a fun time for the adults!

Fantastic experience: My kids loved it, and I enjoyed seeing the changes they have made over the years. I also like that the gift shop is connected to the Lego land gift shop so you can buy Legos after seeing the aquarium!

Fantastic experience: I just visited Sea life aquarium in kansas city. Sea Life is next door to Legoland Discovery Center at the Crown Center Mall. located in the crown centre .The tickets were for $ 20 each . but it’s worth it. I believe most people will have an enjoyable time. this place have 260,000 gallons of water and is home to about 5,000 species of sea life. They have beautiful exhibits with some unique species like sea dragon ,seahorse and jellyfish. One of the most interesting areas was one of the touch pools. Aquarium staff members share information about the creatures in the pool. it also have an interactive touchpool to get hands on touch real sea stars. There was an underwater tunnel with rays, shark and other marine life swim ahead. The shipwreck area was really neat. Next up for us was the jellyfish area. Who doesn’t like jellyfish? What stood out during our visit was the shape of the aquariums. There was a lot of thin, curved glass. That made it seem like you were closer to the fish and sea life. It impressed us as a more intimate visit for an aquarium. There were “skeletons" of sea creatures, such as a whale, which the animals swim through, adding to the immersive experience. The 28,000 square foot aquarium is a nice way to spend 1-3 hours, depending on your interests. I can see families taking more time. We spent about an hour there and saw everything we wanted. You and your family will enjoy every bit of the day tour .

You’ve seen one glowing jellyfish, you’ve seen ‘em all, right? WRONG. This time, we said “YOLO” and sprung for the backstage tour. A few extra bucks? Sure. A few extra brain wrinkles and major behind-the-scenes bragging rights? ABSOLUTELY. Enter: Mac, our guide and future queen of the ocean. ‍♀️ She’s part aspiring marine biologist, part shark whisperer, part stand-up comedian, and 100% delightful. My teenage daughter instantly clicked with her—within five minutes they were deep in convo about hammerheads, global conservation collabs, and the Shedd Aquarium like they’d been aquarium pen pals for years. Behind the curtain, we saw the wizardry that keeps this underwater kingdom afloat: miles of piping, filtration systems that looked like something NASA would envy, and a fish meal-prep station that made my own kitchen feel very underachieving. Watching the staff feed the fish from the top of the tanks? Chef’s kiss. ️ The front-of-house is impressive—but the backstage is pure aquatic magic. In particular, my tour guide Jasmine, she is an absolute delight, and I couldn't believe how much she knew about your facility and all the creatures there. She loves what she does, and it shows. I just know she will succeed in her career choices.

The interactive touch pools were a huge hit—there's nothing quite like seeing your child's face light up as they gently feel a starfish or horseshoe crab for the first time. What we especially appreciated was how educational the experience was, without ever feeling like a classroom. The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and ready with answers that brought the ocean to life. Even for us grown-ups, there were plenty of surprising facts and captivating stories tucked into each corner. Whether you're local or just visiting, the Kansas City Sea Life offers a perfect blend of hands-on exploration, awe-inspiring sights, and meaningful family connection. It left us not only entertained but inspired—and already dreaming about our next underwater adventure.

Fantastic experience: This place is very enjoyable it's quiet and I love all the fish.

Fantastic experience: We loved every minute of it here! We were there for about an hour and a half. We saw lots of cool animals and the kids loved to touch the starfish and sea urchins. We spent the extra money to go on the behind the scenes tour and it was totally worth it. We had Sage as our guide and they were amazing! Knowledgeable and cracking jokes that made us laugh! They made the tour well worth it and if you could ask for them I would!

Fantastic experience: My expectations going to this aquarium was zero, due to some reviews I read. I was however shocked at how educational packed it was. My family loved every bit of it. I was especially excited to see and learn about lots of sea creatures that I didn't know existed. It is just a good size too. It takes about 90 mins to go around the aquarium. That's not bad for the kiddos.

Negative experience: For $30 a ticket we expected much more. Made it through the whole aquarium in 20 minutes and couldn’t believe there wasn’t more to see

Fantastic experience: We got the combo legoland/sealife tickets for our 9 year old son and his friend. They ended up loving sealife more! The interactive exhibits, tunnels, and rounded tanks were wonderful.

Positive experience: The aquarium was set up well, but I did see some concerns with the conditions of animals. My kids liked going through the aquarium

Negative experience: If you want to stand in line to see every exhibit this is the place for you. This is a very small aquarium. Took less than a half hour to get through including waiting in lines with a 4 year old and under two year old. Paid nearly $100 for two adults one child including getting my 1 year old in for free. Not worth the money whatsoever. Went to a children’s play museum and the kids had a way better time.

Fantastic experience: This place was very fun. The only bummer was that it was a small aquarium and seemed like we went through it in under an hour. Prior to walking in, they have a place where you can take a picture, get a code to geg the picture with a variety of backgrounds at the end of the tour. They had a variety of aquatic animals and they were very well kept and beautiful. There was a touch pool and a rinse station that you need to use prior to putting hands in the pool to keep animals healthy. There were cute little lights that shone down on the floor with little crabs or fish that kids were trying to stomp on and chase. They also had little games in some sections- feed the sea dragon and clear the beach. That was a nice touch for kids. Near the end, there was a few resting areas, each surrounding a screen where you could color a specific fish and then send them to sea....which you look at the screen and there was your creation on the screen. Very neat for the kids to see that.

Negative experience: Didnt say on the website that adults cannot go to legoland with out child 17 or under until i got to the door after ordering my tickets so apparently legos are only for kids now

Fantastic experience: I love coming here. During the week there isn't much foot traffic. The experience is amazing if you love sea life. Will definitely be back, just bought season passes!

Fantastic experience: Don't drive a vehicle here taller than 6'5 or you'll have to walk a few blocks. The aquarium itself is great and even has a little tank where you can touch starfish and such. They have a room to color in fish and send them to the digital tank wall. And a lot of different tanks set up with all kinds of fish, sharks, rays, and turtles

Fantastic experience: Great experience! I personally loved the activity towards the end of the aquarium. You get to pick a fish to color on a tablet and once you're down coloring your fish, it gets sent to a virtual big screen with many other fishes that people created! The aquarium itself was clean, and not too packed. But on busy days it definitely can become packed! Great activity for young kids!

Fantastic experience: Best Sea Life Aquarium in the country! Ok I haven't been to all of them. But I've been to multiple. This one is a gem. I guess the secret isn't out yet, because I had the place to myself. Clean. Staff was very friendly. Great selection of sea creatures. Loved every second of it. Highly recommend the behind the scenes tour.

Fantastic experience: Great place to take family, date, friends, anyone really. Informative exhibits with cool creatures. Touch pool let's you get up close with the animals and various windows/tunnels throughout let you view them in their natural habitat. The octopus enclosure is my favorite! If you can catch it out, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I took my daughter who is non verbal autistic to see the fish which she loves dearly. We got in line bought our tickets and started to go inside. At first it was over whelming for her and a staff member noticed and immediately offered a sensory pack to us. Another staff member let us know when then groups of moved ahead and opened the door for my daughter to see the fish and we went inside. I noticed during our walk through the displays there was a person giving training to other employees on how to assist people with all of different special needs. It was impressive to say the least. The staff was very kind and caring throughout the entire sea life display. Well trained, very kind, and amazing staff and we had an amazing experience because of that. Thank you so much on behalf of myself and my daughter.

Fantastic experience: This aquarium was magnificent. A good variety of fish with some hands on experiences. The workers were plentiful to answer your questions. You can design fish that will display in a virtual aquarium.

Negative experience: not worth the admission and very unfriendly service. all tanks was dirty murky and just not worth $30 at all. SAVE YOUR MONEY DON'T GO.

Fantastic experience: The lighting and music were relaxing, the staff was super knowledgeable and friendly, and the fish were active and pretty. I loved the sea urchins and rays!

Positive experience: If this is your few and far between chance to see an Aquarium, do it! The kids will enjoy it. The Behind The Scenes Tour was okay for $7, small group, personal guide, got some good additional information you wouldn't get just wandering through on your own. If you can make it to the Bass Pro Shop Wonders of Wildlife Aquarium in Springfield, Missouri instead... that one is exceptional.

Fantastic experience: We loved Sea Life! I am an aquarium enthusiast, and for an added $10 to our Legoland tickets, this was so worth it. Quite a bit of space for a "small" aquarium, and the facility was clean and kept up well. We really enjoyed our time. The only thing I'd skip was the "Ranger Pack" - my kiddo didn't care for it much, but for only $5 I didn't feel like it was a huge loss.

Fantastic experience: Excellent immersive activity. Loved the interactive displays, touch tank, and decor. Build your own fish and then find the fish was very fun! Price very reasonable when paired with Legoland.

Positive experience: Personally, I hated it. I am not one that is usually bothered by crowds. Unless certain conditions are present that make for a terrible experience. The place was packed. In every other aquarium I have been too that isn't a problem as there is usually enough space to move and progress at a steady pace, but not here. It was wall to wall and to add to the madness there are at least a half dozen choke points that make it nearly impossible to move faster than the group(s) in front of you. The major interactive attraction was understaffed for the number of people there and so the line took forever. So if you have issues with tight and crowded places be aware. My girls loved it! The glass was clean and they could see everything. Even the glass tunnels were clean and everything was visible. So that was a huge plus as most of these places can get pretty trashy in those areas. They were able to see some sea life that they hadn't before and even a couple they had no idea existed. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience outside of the tight-overcrowded space, but we likely will never go back. For us it was a 1 time visit as it doesn't even come close to comparing with the Branson, MO Aquarium.

Positive experience: Make sure to buy tickets online through a third party, apparently they might be cheaper. Definitely not worth the $31 at the entrance. Also not worth it if you have visited any aquarium before.

Fantastic experience: We bundled with legoland so see this and it was worth it. We were able to touch starfish and sea urchins. There was a marine biologist present who told us fun facts about the sea animals. I wish they would have had a bigger jellyfish exhibit.

Positive experience: I visited SEA LIFE Kansas City recently and was really pleasantly surprised at what a nice little aquarium this is. It has all kinds of little details to make it a special place to bring kids or even on a date. In addition to the tanks, there are little "bubbles" where you can crawl in and feel like you are right in the middle of where the sea life is. The tanks look well maintained and the creatures all looked healthy. There is a good flow of traffic, and only one place seemed to get stopped up (the tunnel where you are surrounded on three sides by the water). The staff were helpful and friendly, and seem to genuinely care about what they are doing. One note is that if you are wanting to go to LEGOLAND, you will need to have a child with you. As someone who knows a lot of adults that collect LEGOS, I was surprised to learn this (although I certainly understand the reasoning). Definitely get tickets in advance to take advantage of the discount.

Positive experience: Pros. It was a nice facility, and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The animals seem to be treated well. And I liked all the ways to be physically interactive (touch stations, crawl spaces, various styles of viewing windows etc) Cons. Would prefer normal signs instead of essentially ipads at every tank. Would be nice to have benches throughout to take a seated break.

Positive experience: It was a pleasant experience. The ticket price is a little bit high but it was a fun time with the kids. Everyone enjoyed the visit, even though the place feels a little cramped but overall it is a good one hour visit to the location.

Positive experience: Cute aquarium, better for a younger demographic, but they had some really interesting sea creatures here, like Horse Shoe Crabs and Moon Jellies! Cool starter aquarium if you have never been to one before!

Positive experience: Cute place! Not very big but still a lot of fun! We also enjoyed being able to "pet" some of the creatures. We went today for the Animal Crossing event, and it was so cute. They integrated the characters with a stamp hunt, and we got to take pics with 2 of the mascots.

Positive experience: It didn't take very long to walk through the entire building. The price wasn't terrible, but for no more than what we got for the money, it didn't feel like it was worth the expenditure. It was a nice place and gave us something to do, but we likely would not go back.

Fantastic experience: Sea life aquarium is a great place for families to get out and see a very respectable collection of marine life! The staff is friendly and helpful, and will often go out of their way in order to keep the customer happy. I appreciate Mikey's help, who had mentioned a survey, but after trying to look for one online, I had decided that a positive Google review would do just as nicely (or at least, I hope so!) Fantastic experience: We had been to Sea Life previously and we decided we wanted to go again. It's in a easily accessible location and decently priced. If you're looking for something to do that will take up some of your time. They have a Hands-On area where the kids can touch the starfish, a shark egg that has been unfertilized and as well as a sea anemone. They have a good variety of fish and big large tanks and they also offer a program where you can take a brochure and stamp it on your way through to show that you went to all of the locations.

Positive experience: Pretty cool place, a little small for an aquarium and the price. I’d recommend doing both Lego land and the aquarium together. Overall the staff were super friendly and animal displays were cool, even though it seemed like most people just wanted to mess with all the computer stuff at the end. There’s a couple of little tunnels and crawl through spots for kids so it’s pretty fun.

Fantastic experience: I went here for the Animal Crossing event. First, I have to complement every single worker. From start to finish, they were fantastic. Every staff member was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Event aside, this aquarium is a great place to go. Would recommend highly. VR experience was enjoyable as well!

Positive experience: Small but cute and very kid-friendly! The staff were incredible - but especially the young woman working at the starfish and lobster interaction pool! Our 1.5yo had a blast just running around, but hubs and I also enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Positive experience: Spent some time here during a work conference. I enjoyed it. It's nothing super crazy, especially if you've been to other major aquariums. However, they have a really cool thing there for kids where they can draw a fish and have it added to the digital aquarium. They have a nest large tank with multiple viewing points allowing for many different angles of view for the main tank. They have some things you can touch for the kids as well.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing time! We went on 8/15 and the girl at the starfishes was so helpful and knowledgeable! There was also a guy that sat and talked to me for quite awhile about all the different fish in the big tank! He was amazing at his job and super sweet! I would definitely recommend going and learning from the staff :)

Negative experience: Would not recommend. There was a horseshoe crab stuck on its back and I noticed 2 employees and they said it can get up on its own however it had no help. Looked up on google and it said they would be helpless and die if they are stuck on their back. Very sad that there was no urgency and ruined the experience for my family. No one wants to go to the aquarium to watch an animal die and have no help. Went through the aquarium and went back to see if it was still like that after an hour and a half and he was still laying on his back.

Fantastic experience: Totally with money spent!!!!!! Over 1 1/2 hr going through the place and it was awesome to see all the different aquatic life

Positive experience: We added this to our Legoland tickets for $10/person. It was a good, small aquarium experience. There’s an interactive starfish touch experience. And we all enjoyed coloring fish and then sending them to the big screen aquarium at the end. Would recommend adding to the Legoland experience as long as you’re there.

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed the Sea Life Aquarium. Parking was free. We had a 3 o'clock scheduled time, but went in at 1:30 and it was no problem. Enjoyed talking to the staff about the sea animals. They were very knowledgeable. Spent about 100 minutes from beginning to end.

Fantastic experience: Very nice aquarium. The employees we encountered were all very nice and knowledgeable. The entire place was clean and the various fish, there was a large variety, were well taken care of. They have fun things to try and do for children or even those of a child like heart and soul. Come and learn about the sea and ocean.

Fantastic experience: Not a full day scrub activity unless you also get tickets to Legoland next door. At that point with both locations or will become almost a full day. We took it slow and was done with it in about 1.5 hours. Then I went to eat lunch next door, then went to Legoland. Get both tickets, or you will feel like a waste of a full day.

Gather round as I regale ye with tales of me voyage to the Sea Life Aquarium in Kansas City, where the underwater wonders are as plentiful as Krabby Patties in Bikini Bottom! From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt like a plankton in a sea of excitement! The place was as lively as Jellyfish Fields on a sunny day. The colorful creatures swam about, dancing to the rhythm of the ocean currents. I half expected to bump into SpongeBob himself! The staff were as friendly as ol' SpongeBob SquarePants, guiding us through the aquatic adventures with smiles as wide as Sandy's treedome. They answered all me questions about the sea critters with the knowledge of a seasoned sailor navigating the seven seas. Oh, but the highlight of me voyage was the Jellyfish Exhibit! It was like being surrounded by a swarm of jellyfish, just like SpongeBob and Patrick in their jellyfishing escapades. The mesmerizing glow of these gelatinous beauties left me feeling like I was in a trance, lost in the depths of the ocean. Even me hearties who aren't keen on sea creatures will find something to enjoy here! From the interactive touch pools to the breathtaking underwater tunnels, there's something for everyone to enjoy. So, if ye be seekin' a taste of the deep blue sea without gettin' yer feet wet, set sail for the Sea Life Aquarium in Kansas City! It'll be an adventure ye won't soon forget! Fantastic experience: Great spot! Our toddler absolutely loved it (and so did we)! We went two hours before nap time, and she happily fell asleep in the tunnel/jellyfish area. Plenty of exhibits with different ways to interact with the animals.

Positive experience: A cute little aquarium. Perfect for a rainy day in KC. Expect to see stingray, sharks, and many different fish. They also have an elusive octopus. There is a touch tank, but many organisms to interact with. There is a focus on sustainability. The entire experience can be done in 20 minutes if your kiddo is a runner. Take time to point out sea creatures and complete the Dive Log Book to encourage kids to slow down. You can bundle a ticket with Lego Discovery next door. If you bundle with Lego Discovery, I suggest going here first.

Fantastic experience: It was lovely. Just the right size for small children, not overwhelming. The docents were friendly, knowledgeable, and did not rush us through.

One was running the touch tank and the other wandering around telling facts about the fish. The second person even grabbed my 7 year old a paper to collect all the stamps in the aquarium. It was definitely worth the add on price from a Legoland ticket but it is a pretty small aquarium. You could easily do it in an hour we spent close to an hour and a half but my kids spent a lot of time coloring on the tablets in the last exhibit.

Positive experience: Fun little aquarium. Our oldest son loves fish and we try to hit up an aquarium while we are on trips. The only bad part is that you are guided through and end in the gift shop with no way to go back if you want to revisit an area. Our son has special needs and tends to like to revisit different tanks (sometimes several times) and we didn’t realize that once you make it through there was no going back through again. We go to the Shedd Aquarium a lot and are used to wandering around and revisiting different areas. This could be seen as a bonus for some and it does help it not become too crowded as the building itself isn’t as big as some other aquariums we’ve been to in the past. We also wish they had a separate prepaid line for admission. We had a nice time though.

Positive experience: Nicely done exhibits. We had a fun time. Only took about an hour or slightly more to go through it. The interactivity of some of the exhibits is nice for the kiddos. And we appreciated that they validated our parking.

Fantastic experience: We had never been before and we absolutely loved it! I had no idea what to expect. It's super dark when you first walk in, then go through the doors on the right and let the path take you! My daughter was brave and experienced the touch pool with the sea urchins and snails and starfish! There are lots of creatures to see, we were so glad we went!

Fantastic experience: Very nice for kids or a date night. My advice take your time ! Me and my daughter were walking at average speed and walked through the whole thing in about 15 minutes so we turned around and slowed down. Extremely kid friendly with the sensory option to touch starfish, photo ops, and traditional gifts like a coin or pictures you can buy. Loved it was connected to Lego land and had little fountain attractions outside. They validate parking! A win!

Fantastic experience: The kids really enjoyed themselves! We take them to different aquariums in different cities as a way to travel and see new places and things. I have to say that this aquarium was no different than the one at home (STL, MO). It took us about 30 to go through the whole place. Legoland is located in the exact same location, and that's great to know because we are bringing the kids back to visit very soon. Wish I knew of other places to visit but for a weekend mini vaca, it was nice.

Fantastic experience: Sea Life in Kansas City is a great place to visit. Kid friendly and educational. One direction pass through, which helps keep the flow of people moving. Good location next to other attractions.

Positive experience: A fun and colorful (though fairly short) visit and not overly expensive if you pair it with Legoland tickets. Positives: -Lots of species -Environments change often so you don't get bored -Plenty of hands-on areas -Traffic flows one way so it's easy to maneuver and keep track of little ones Negatives: -It can get LOUD in the small, enclosed areas. If your child gets overwhelmed easily, then I highly recommend ear plugs or some other sound blocker -I didn't see staff for most of the visit, so we couldn't really ask questions about the exhibits and many of the kids visiting were just kind of running around. It got pretty overwhelming since the walkways are pretty small -It's not a very long visit... we stayed about an hour
