Positive experience: Just okay, if you’re nearby and your child want to see an aquarium. Sure. But I would have rather pay the ticket to a zoo with an aquarium than to go here. Not much to see.

Fantastic experience: I was impressed with the diversity of the exhibits located in the aquarium! We enjoyed the visit and will definitely come back!

Positive experience: I enjoyed everything! Just had a problem with some of the flooring because of my hip. So I didn't take a lot of pictures or videos. Other than that. Take your family especially if you enjoy seeing the sea life

Positive experience: Visited as a combo ticket to another attraction. The staff was all very nice and engaging. The set up is cool and takes you through different sections. There are many things to keep your kids engaged - paper hats, hand outs, stamps throughout, interactive learning, coloring area, and a prize (bracelet) at the end if you complete one of the activities. Because of all this would give a 5 for kid engagement. It doesn’t take very long to get through, but could be to be expected given its location and not being what I would consider a ‘full aquarium’. Glad we went with the combo ticket, and a decent price, to make a fun day.

Fantastic experience: My favorite place to take my 7 year old whenever we visit Michigan! He loves the sites & the gift shop! The prices are right too!!

Fantastic experience: Had a really educated and interesting employee give us all sorts of info on the fish and sea turtles! Really cool to see and experience all the sea life and the touch pool is a neat experience!

Positive experience: $25 for 25 minutes of slow walking through the aquarium. Not bad just a little pricey for what you get in my opinion

Joe Leigeb 3 months ago

Positive experience: Not a bad place to take children with pretty cool exhibits. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean.

Fantastic experience: Was great!!!!The first time for my grandson, he loves fish just big enough for a small day trip, we had a really good time , it was quite. can't wait to take him to a bigger aquarium.

Fantastic experience: I took my husband to Sea Life, while it is small it is absolutely perfect for kids. We enjoyed seeing all the sea animals and walk thru tunnel. They have a great gift shop as well. Sea Life is located inside Auburn Hills Mall across the Wild Life Cafe & a Lego Land.

Fantastic experience: Bought our tickets in advance online for the deals. It was really a great place. We took the behind the scenes tour because as a true animal lover I wanted to see how the whole place is cared for. They are AZA accredited and it shows in their meticulous attention to diet, the cleanliness of their systems, and their fish training methods. Everyone should really stop and check this one out!

Fantastic experience: The people who work here love these fish! They're well informed and passionate.it was pretty clean inside and I saw employees cleaning as well to maintain it.The eel lady was very sweet and can handle someone with bad ADHD like me. She was very good with the children around her as well. Wish I had gotten her name for the review.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, clean tanks and facility, lots of activities and even a play place for kids. Beautiful tunnel to walk through surrounding you with aquatic friends. Fun little gift shop at the end as well. Great experience and will be back

Positive experience: Pretty cool place. Very small & crowded. Very expensive & we went during a 40% T-mobile rewards promo. Would never pay full price for what they offer. Gift shop stuff is also super expensive.

J. Thomas 4 months ago

Positive experience: The aquarium was very nice. I liked the curved glass of several of the tanks. It allowed the fish to get closer to your view. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that I thought it was rather small compared to the price. You can get through it pretty quick.

Fantastic experience: Very nice fish. I like fish. I like to look at fish friends. I like to touch the anemones and the star fish. I like to see the pufferfish and rays and turtles. Helpful staff. I like fish a lot. Wow. Fish.

Positive experience: legitimately looking from the outside in I truly thought this would be a large aquarium. Although it's connected to a mall. Fooled me once never again. Don't get me wrong It was Entertaining for under 10 years old. Disappointing for older Whatever you do backstage passes you will learn about how they make Chum. Only solace in doing the backstage pass was that some of it got donated to I'm not even sure.

Fantastic experience: It's an amazing place to spend a couple of hours. I was enthralled by the lots of sea creatures in the aquarium. The behind-the-scenes tour by Jose was very informative and I got to know the efforts of Aquarists in providing a happy place for the animals.

Fantastic experience: Loved Scout Day at the aquarium. Everyone had a great time!

Positive experience: We had a nice time here, huge tanks of freshwater and saltwater species of fish! I loved the real colorful saltwater fish. Was a bit crowded the holiday weekend, like to go back when less busy!

Fantastic experience: Sea life was a wonderful experience definitely would visit again. While your there definitely check out Lego land, peppa pig land, and rainforest cafe! Peppa pig was my favorite so fun to play in a real life peppa pig world.

Positive experience: Sealife Aquarium has a lot of potential and some great exhibits, but a few things really took away from the overall experience. First off, it's a bit of a nuisance that you're required to buy tickets online—even if you're standing right there at the entrance. On top of that, there's a processing fee, which just feels unnecessary when you're already paying admission. It adds an annoying extra step that could be easily avoided with a simple ticket counter. Crowd control was another major issue. It felt like way too many people were being let in at once, which made it really hard to enjoy the exhibits. Instead of peacefully admiring the sea creatures, it turned into a game of human bumper cars. A little more regulation on capacity would go a long way in improving the guest experience. There were definitely some fun and educational moments, and I could see kids having a great time. But for the price and the hassle, I left feeling like it could’ve been a lot better with a few simple changes.

Fantastic experience: My kids 4 and 10 loved this. Our 2nd time going. We will be back.

Positive experience: Good place. Small. No re-entry be warned. It was clean and I loved the petting section. Didn't smell and the price was not bad at all. Sealions.

Jessica Koehler 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: I can spend all day at that stingray tank. The room smells like being at the beach. I can say we were fascinated with the fish. There is many deals for visiting this wonderful establishment. It's also not too big for little ones who can't handle big walks yet.

j rambo 4 months ago

Negative experience: OVER PRICED. $49.98 for two Adults to enter. It’s about a 30 minute or less walk through. The Detroit Zoo, as of today is only $4.02 more, for two adults to enter.. which is an all day walk. Also, they Only accept plastic payment, no cash! Definitely don’t recommend., not worth the money spent.

Fantastic experience: We went for a school trip and it was so much fun not to busy and clean. We all loved it great for any age.

Andrew Iwamasa (CCornerMI) 4 months ago

Positive experience: Small but great displays. When the schools were going on their trip it was busy and loud. Once they left it was wonderful

carl olson 5 months ago

Positive experience: Neat little aquarium. We made it through in about 30 min. It's pretty small, so take your time at each section. If you interact with all the stations for kids it will take longer. There is an interactive touching pool. Starfish and other live underwater life. The tunnel is small, but totally awesome. Overall it was a great time. We drove 3 hours for it, so with that in mind it was a bit disappointing. Considering it was another 30 min to Shedd I'm Chicago. However, Sea life was also half the price

Ken Lemon 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: My youngest son loves this place! The touch pools especially

Crystal Wend 5 months ago

Positive experience: This was our first time going to this aquarium. I will say I have been to better ones, but for the most part, it was pretty cool to walk around and see the different types of fish, sharks, and turtles. They do have a tank where you can touch the sea animals , not too many varieties, though. I have been to aquariums that you can touch jellyfish, stingrays, and horseshoe crabs. All in all, it was a good time. Probably won't go back a second time.

Sara Flanery 5 months ago

Positive experience: We took our 11, 8, and 1 year old. The kids say they had a lot of fun but wish the "attractions" were bigger. The tunnel was cool to walk under and it did bring lots of excitement to all 3 of their worlds. For the price it was a great afternoon getaway. The mall it is attached too is very large so there is plenty to see. I would give 5 stars however it took us less than an hour to do the tour and the learning/interaction side of things could be a little better.

Danny Trejo jr 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: It was awesome and clean! The kids really enjoyed the experience. This is the best aquarium in the area.

Sean Cook 5 months ago

Negative experience: Drove over an hour to check out this highly rated aquarium with my toddlers and left after 30 minutes disappointed. This has a few cool exhibits but was definitely not worth the high cost of admission. There are several medium size fish tanks, and one large tank that had a few small sharks and two turtles as the highlight.

Tiffani Cook 5 months ago

Negative experience: After being to several other aquariums my husband and I felt like this was very overpriced for how small it was. It was clean, cute little exhibits but you can get through in 30 min or less and we were genuinely surprised when it kind of just ends and you're left thinking "that's it?" Not worth the hour drive for us or the price of tickets.

Ciera Bonilla 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: So I have an a child with ASD, was a little nervous first time coming to the aquarium. I highly recommend! We bought the combo ticket with Legoland. Their was a lot of hideaways for my kids to get great views and interactions. It was a very busy day at the mall in general but it was bigger than I thought and easy to move around folks. We went early( 9am) to help avoid the large crowds and it overall it worked with people starting to arrive more around noon as we were eating lunch in the food court, wrapping up our visit. I can't wait to take the kiddos again!

Vishnupriyan Gunasekaran 5 months ago

Positive experience: A good place to visit with young kids when bored in winter. There is a good number of fishes to view and the highlight is the small 180 degree glass tunnel where you can watch manta rays and shark swim over head. The place is located inside the Great Lakes mall so it’s not too big, just enough for less than a hour walk, also you can go shopping or watch movie in AMC after that. Plan to buy the ticket online before you head there. Booking earlier than the day of visit might cost you a bit less.

Siarah 5 months ago

Positive experience: It wasn't as big as I would have liked it to be. Price was good for what you get! Buy tickets ahead of time. They have a discount with buying tickets with Legoland!

Fantastic experience: Sea Life Aquarium is an absolute wonder. The facility is beautiful — clean, vibrant, and thoughtfully designed to make every visit unforgettable. The tanks are simply gorgeous, each one like a living piece of art filled with the most incredible, colorful fish I’ve ever seen. Everywhere you look, there’s something magical to discover. The care and attention put into every detail is obvious, and it makes the whole experience feel like stepping into another world. I can’t recommend Sea Life Aquarium highly enough — it’s a breathtaking adventure for all ages!

Rachel Corvington 5 months ago

Positive experience: Not bad for an aquarium inside a mall. It was very colorful and had a good variety of fish. The staff members were all very friendly. My son loved all the little places where he could stick his head inside the tanks to get a closer look at the fish. We also loved the touch tank where we got to feel sea anemones and starfish. There is an interactive area where you can create a digital fish that shows up on the back screen of an aquarium, so it looks like the fish you created is swimming in the water.

Arianna Smith 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: A great experience. First time comming here and was awesome to see all the fish

Fearthainn 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: It was about 20 dollars per adult ticket. The staff was knowledgeable when asked about the sea life. One lady has been there for 2 ½ years and mentioned that they are an intake, alot of times the first to be called, for any aquatic sea life that may be illegal to have in the U.S. until they can find a place for them or send them back to where they were from, seized aquatic life or those in need of rehabilitation. There are native Michigan fish, tropical, and freshwater as well. A great variety of coral, to species of fish, to turtles and sharks, and even jellyfish to checkout. You can have a memory pic taken before you start your tour included in your ticket price. It is pretty cool to see 6ft eels and sting rays up close.

Chris Ruffin 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: Felt like they should have tour guides but it was really nice all around great place for the kids to see exotic fish and experience a fun a great restaurant

Ambriel No 5 months ago

Positive experience: So, the place really isn’t “bad”, but it’s definitely more for kids. We booked a birthday package which was pretty pricey, and it wasn’t up to par with the price. We got brought up into a half aced decor room and had minimal drinks and snacks. There was cheese pizza which was IMO the biggest downfall. It was really nasty and I wish they offered more options. The staff was great though, I just think my daughter and the party was too old for the majority of the package. I thought there’d be more but there wasn’t. The aquarium itself isn’t bad at all really. It’s truly aimed towards children. It’s not as big as you’d think and it took about an hour or so to finish. That’s with us taking our time. I’d say it’s worth going if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t book anything. The touch tank was everyone’s favorite.! It’s definitely not worth the price, but it is a good child experience.

Fantastic experience: My wife, and I visited Sea Life Michigan Aquarium last year, and it was a really beautiful experience. We’ve been to quite a few aquariums around the world, so while I wouldn’t say this is the absolute best one we’ve ever seen, it definitely holds its own and is worth the visit. The layout is well-designed, with a nice flow from one exhibit to the next. The underwater tunnel was a highlight—walking through with sharks and rays swimming overhead was pretty magical. There’s a great mix of sea life to explore, from colorful tropical fish to jellyfish and seahorses. The tanks are clean, and everything is well-maintained, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It’s also family-friendly and educational, with interactive exhibits that would be great for kids. For us, it was just a fun and relaxing way to spend the afternoon. If you're in the area or visiting the mall, I’d definitely recommend stopping by. It might not be the biggest aquarium out there, but it’s charming, well-kept, and makes for a lovely outing.

Breanna Baker 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: It's not the biggest aquarium, but they have losts of cool things and it's much more "kid friendly" compared to the other 3 we've been to in my opinion. Lots of things were toddler size and there were cool dome things for my daughter to get a better look. It's the first one she was genuinely excited for!

B P 5 months ago

Positive experience: Pricy for the experience and size. Fun to wander but definitely not a destination aquarium. Pricing would be more appropriate around $12 a person based on size and variety of animals.

Katie Kramer 5 months ago

Positive experience: It was fine. Lots of small fish to see. The part where we got to touch the anemone and starfish was fun. It was difficult to find fish names and info about them. Very dark. The whole thing was one big winding pathway and set up very tourist trappy.

Rebecca VM 5 months ago

Positive experience: This is a smaller aquarium (took us about an hour and a half to go through) that's packed with beautiful creatures and educational screens and signs. We went when it first opened on a Friday and it wasn't too busy so you could see the fish without feeling crowded by others. There were many fish and sea animals. A highlight was the petting tank, the really large aquariums where you could see many fish at once, and the many viewing spots where people can feel like they are inside the tank.

Khizra Younis 6 months ago

Positive experience: Okay, this place was not it. It’s quite expensive in my opinion. The pathway from start to finish took us about 45 minutes but there was not much there to do. It wasn’t as interactive as I thought it would be. Touching the jellyfish was cool but again..maybe I expected too much. We were two adults and one child and it cost us $90. I think that’s way too much. Overrated.

Beverly Gardner (Beverly) 6 months ago

Positive experience: We went on a Wednesday morning. No wait to get in. It got more busy as the day went and when we left, I could see a ling line waiting to get in. We enjoyed it. I think it is definitely more entertaining for young children maybe toddlers through elementary. My 3 year old loved it. My teen enjoyed it with her but I don't think the teen would ask to go again. We took our time and let people pass us so we could see everything. I know some people claim it too small and they went through too quickly but if you slow down and look for hiding creatures and give yourself time to watch the fish swim it's peaceful and you can stretch it out.

Vontrey Chase 6 months ago

Positive experience: Overall great experience plenty of entertainment for the kids and the instructors were very nice and answering our questions as best as they could only complain. Is that the toilet water levels in the bathroom are too high I know No one has said anything about this before and it’s no big deal, but as I wipe myself, my hand gets dipped in the water and it’s an uncomfortable experience maybe just lower the levels a tad bit but had a great time

A A 6 months ago

Positive experience: This was actually really cool but everyone was on top of eachother and we felt rushed because it was a massive line of people hust moving through. I felt like we couldn't really take our time to look in at every tank and even see what was in there because people were right on top of eachother/ cutting the line/ not enough workers. And we pre purchased tickets and waited in line for like 40 minutes to get in. They need to have a limit and if they sell out then they sell out. The fish were really cool but again you can't get the full experience because there is just people everywhere on top of one another. We walked through lego land and sea life aquarium in about an hour total

Ava Lee 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: It was my first time, I took my kids for their birthdays. It was worth the money. I especially liked the little touch pool. Anemone are so cool! They were holding on to my finger.

Kayla Vasquez 6 months ago

Negative experience: We drove 2 hours to visit, the entrance was annoying to wait in line for other people to take photos but no other line to just go in if you didn't want a photo taken. The entire place was extremely dark, WAY TOO PACKED & hot at one point we got stuck in a hallway and my husband & our three kids couldn't move because there were so many people. The one thing we were upset with the most is the people at the touch tank were not hiding at all they were annoyed with all the guest there and one worker yelling so loud at a guest unprofessionally to stop doing something. We get it, you don't need anyone to hurt an animal but every worker looked miserable there. It was the most stressful thing we've ever done. We will never ever be back!!

ahmed Alqaddori 6 months ago

Negative experience: Poor, contains only a few species of small and medium fish, most of the pictures of fish displayed, such as dolphins, are not present (cheating)

Mike Johnson 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: It was a pretty good time, there were loads of employees explaining things and answering questions. It was a bit crowded since we were there on the first weekend of spring break, but it was a good time, with lots of neat things to see.

Rusty Mills 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: Fun experience - especially for kids. Had ability to touch starfish and sea anomine.

Ricky Munger 6 months ago

Negative experience: The cost is too much for such a small place ,payed $59 dollars to walk through it in 15 minutes. Website said at lest a hour. They also had a field trip going on. Screaming kids running around and the teachers to bust on their cell phones. Had a horrible time. Also says on web site u get a discount on tickets purchased on line, that’s a lie

Hi! Thanks a splash for your fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear that you had a fintastic time exploring our aquarium. We hope to sea you again soon for more underwater adventures! Wishing you oceans of fun, The SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium Team

Kaylee 6 months ago

Positive experience: We went here for what was supposed to be a package for legoland and sea life but we were told we cant go to legoland because you have to have a minor with you so we got our tickets refunded and the lady at sea life gave us a discount because we had already bought the tickets which is already a win in my book but on top of that all the amazing exhibits and the 360 tunnel it was an extremely cool experience

Marshall Allinson 6 months ago

Negative experience: It’s a cool LITTLE aquarium. Definitely not worth the price of admission, though. 45 minutes in and out with the kids leading the way, and these are rather curious kids, too. Forced to buy tickets online even though we were legit standing right there with no waiting time. Kind of a rip off.

Jess McKaig 6 months ago

Positive experience: I don't know why you have to buy tickets in advance when you still have to wait in a super long line and there were so many people in there I could barely see a lot of the animals and you were basically shoulder to shoulder with people. For the amount you pay, you would think they would put a limit on how many people were allowed in at a time but that wasn't the case, we were packed in there like sardines. It really made it hard to enjoy our time, were not big on crowds to begin with but it definitely had out anxiety goin.

Lipstick Laughter 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: I loved it more than my 2 year old lol. Josey knew soooooooo much very educated at the area we could touch the starfish and corals. I really like her she should write a book about ocean life. Amazing time definitely recommend. Our tickets were only 10 bucks because we did peppa pig first!

Kelsi Kaylor 6 months ago

Negative experience: We spent $100 to walk around for a half hour and then it was done. I expected SO much more, because that's advertised on their website. We spent more time driving there (2.5 hours one way!) than actually getting to enjoy it. Plus, it was super cramped so seeing inside the tanks was extremely difficult as people were constantly walking in front of each other. And when we got there they said you couldn't buy tickets on site which was very odd, nothing about that was stated online so we had to purchase online and then wait in a long line just to get in. Will go to Shedd in Chicago next time...about the same distance to drive and probably much cheaper! Disappointed is an understatement.

Fantastic experience: Loved this place!!!! Again!!! We had last attended this aquarium 10 or so years ago, with our daughter when she was 3!!!! It's was so amazing again!!!! I wondered if the some of the sting rays and zebra were originally from out first visit!!!! But we didn't find out! It was really busy, but still pretty easy to take in each exhibit! Next I'd like to visit Legoland which is right next door! You are able to get one pass for both events! Loved it!!!

Elijah Biron 6 months ago

Positive experience: Decent place. Spent $163 for family of 5 and in 30 minutes we were already at the gift shop. We stopped at the touch pool as well. Cool, but not for the price.

W K 6 months ago

Negative experience: Was just a large fish tank. Kids liked the fish but for the price tag there wasn't anything special or worth the 1 hr trip. Should have been 10 dollars to enter. Might be the first time I feel we got more value from the gift shop at the end.

Harley Hefelfinger 6 months ago

Positive experience: We must have gone on a slow day because we barely saw other aquarium-goers. The underwater tunnel is so fun and has lots to see! The shoaling ring is great for little ones who like to run or visually track the fish! All in all, we had a great time and especially so for the price!

Nikki Fox 6 months ago

Positive experience: First time going. When we got to Great Lakes Crossing seen where they now want you to book online. We got a discount to do the aquarium & Legoland together my 5 yr old had a great time. Is a smaller aquarium of course but still nice. Was definitely busy in the afternoon/evening time.

Jeff Schocker 6 months ago

Positive experience: I was pleased with the experience, displeased with the price/value. Pros: -Very cool exhibit, lengthy enough to keep kids' interest -Had a kids play area at end so make sure your kids have socks -A touch sensory area with starfish, sea anemone, and others -Area with coloring books, two large gaming touch screens, and small individual tablet touch screens -Many creative, awesome viewing areas of many fish, sharks, turtles, rays, and more -VERY cool above-glass viewing section -Hand sanitizer available frequently -A well done aquarium overall Cons: -Just the price... Two adults, one kid cost $68.97 (total) on a weekday... (March 2025) EDIT: You'll see on their website, anyone >2 years old will cost $19.99, $24.99, or $29.99 each, depending on the day. So my ~$69 above was on the LOW side. It is a NICE AQUARIUM, don't get me wrong, but this seemed overpriced. This is in a cool, large shopping mall, not at a holiday destination. It also seemed high to me as 5 years ago, the prices were 50% what they are today. I know inflation is bad, but in all honesty, this price will keep us from returning for a long time.

Fantastic experience: The kids loved it. Very nice atmosphere. Plenty of aquatic life. Would recommend this place for the whole family of all ages.

M Slaw 6 months ago

Negative experience: Really was not a huge fan. Smelled as soon as you walked in & staff was like Becky on those old above the influence commercials. The tanks were well maintained but there are just many other fun things I’d do before ever choosing to return to Sea Life.

Paul Zbytowski 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: Wonderful place, my children could have stayed all day looking at the aquarium!

savanna froh 6 months ago

Positive experience: Facility was clean and staff were nice. However you could see some of the fish were extremely stressed. The puffer fish was puffed the entire time we sat down there watching which is why I'm giving 3 stars. The walk through tunnel was cool but extremely crowded. We went around 11 am and it was packed. Would deff go again as my little loved seeing all the fish

Momstro Gretchen 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: Truly enjoyable visit. Lots of fish, very clean tanks, unique areas. Defiantly geared toward a younger crowd, but very fun for adults also. It’s located in an outlet mall so makes for a great way to spend the day.

Tammy Edenburn 7 months ago

Positive experience: This experience was not something that I would pay for again unfortunately. Upon arrival there were signs posted telling guests that no tickets can be purchased at the door which isn’t stated on their website. We paid $24.99 per ticket for 4 people a 4 year old 11 year old and 2 adults. The whole aquarium is only about a half hour walk through and there’s no structure people just walk in front of you constantly so trying to see anything was difficult. Overall, it’s just not something I would do again. Make sure you have a card for the gift shop at the end because they do not accept cash which was also not posted.

Fantastic experience: I came here once with my mom and my brother well we were on a road trip. This place was super cool! On the way there, we got into a car accident. We were held up for awhile, we had to file a report and stuff. We came long after when we booked our tickets for. The staff still let us in though, bless their hearts. Don't worry about us though, out of all the crashes I've been in, that was the least bad one. Nobody got hurt or anything. We had a lot of fun! The fish were very pretty, we had a great time. I loved the part where you get to touch starfish, they were a weird texture but in a good way. The gift shop was cool too, we got a few fridge magnets. It was so fun!

Fantastic experience: Kids love it! Great atmosphere! I normally go through out the week. My first time going on the weekend. Kinda crowded. Can't really enjoy it.

E A 7 months ago

Negative experience: Nice aquarium ran poorly. Just waited in a 25 min line to get told at the front there are no time slots for purchase must go online, why not clear the flock of a line by informing people well before the cashier check in. Seems like a hazard with the amount of people outside couldn’t imagine the inside, happily went somewhere else with my kid.

Sir SMKSAlOT 7 months ago

Negative experience: Smells like dead fish, I know the smell because I have 6 tanks at home and over the years have had the displeasure of smelling that a few times. There's also no room and way too many people. If you take any sort of time to enjoy the views of the tanks you're being bombarded with 30 kids, 12 adults and 14 strollers behind you. There's nowhere to go to let them pass or all enjoy it together. Kids are blocking entire views, which isn't an issue if they ever moved along but after 15 minutes of waiting I just went to the next room myself. Imo, they should definitely limit how many people are allowed inside at once, it was basically a waste of 40 bucks just to listen to kids scream and fast walk through there so I wasn't blocking people. They gave a "tunnel" under a small tank. And there's only room for 3 people in there. Which was taken by a couple sitting on the small bench. If you stop to look at all you're blocking them, then the 30 kids behind you trying to see. I don't ever plan on returning here, there's much better options other places.

Positive experience: Had a lovely time. It's a little expensive for how big it is especially for a large group. We walked through the whole thing in about half an hour and that was even taking our time to see everything.

Fantastic experience: Expectations were blown away honestly. Figured for being in a mall there'd maybe be a few things but was pleasantly surprised. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable of whatever they were talking about. Well worth price of admission, and I'm a stingy Dutchman .

Negative experience: Go to Petsmart to see a few fish and save your money. We drove cross the state for 30 minutes stroll through the place and it cost us $125 for 5 of us. This place is a total bust. At least my kids have a good sense of humor- we can laugh about it now but it was a serious disappointment.

Fantastic experience: My 28 yo son and I did the behind the scenes tour. It was very interesting. They really care and work hard to keep the aquarium up and running. Highly recommend doing tour first then seeing the aquarium

Positive experience: Decent aquarium fast walk-thru. It’s small I was able to get through the whole thing in 10 minutes. However it was still nice to see exotic fish.

Negative experience: First time visiting the place and from the outside of the building I think I ruined my own visit because I thought I was going into a large aquarium.. The inside is small, the main tank/tunnel is cool but the bulk of the view is in that one tank from 3-4 different windows. The price is just not worth what you see at all. The place is clean and maintained but I think you are paying more for it's location then you are for the attraction itself. I was glad I got to take my grandson to check it out but $25.00 per person with the picture in not worth the 30 minutes it takes to walk through the place.. Won't be back.

Positive experience: I agree with the reviewers who have said that this aquarium is quite small and a little overpriced. I also agree that it has not been updated very much over the last few years since my last visit. Maybe they could add another interactive exhibit or a rotating exhibit, or maybe some more informative plaques and signs. However, we had a very successful day out with our little toddler here. During the cold Michigan winters, It can be difficult to find activities indoors. But this was a easy and fun activity that our toddler really enjoyed. Because it's inside the mall, we were also able to go walk around and look at some other things to keep him entertained even longer. We went to the rainforest cafe and a few other stores. It was a nice day out and I would probably come back even though the aquarium itself is too pricey - about $28 per adult when I visited.

Fantastic experience: This is a great little interactive aquarium. This is definitely geared to like ages 10 and under, but it does a great job of being very amazing with the sea tunnel and other features.

Positive experience: it was cool. but when we finished and ended up in the gift shop the lady at the counter immediately SHOUTED over a MICROPHONE at us "WE HAVE YOUR PICTURES READY" and i walk up to the counter and she is Still shouting OVER A MICROPHONE even though i am 2 feet away. she had an attitude when i said we didnt wanna buy the pictures. like we took the picture with the memory card cause we thought it was FREE since the dude handed it to us when we checked in regardless of us asking or even saying yes. nothing on the card said it costed money so sorry i didnt assume. aquarium experience was good but unfortunately bad experience at the end left a sour taste. not sure i would reccomend the behind the scenes tour either as it was less of a tour and more like just standing in three seperate locations as she talked our ears off, we didnt see any demonstrations or anything really happening. we saw into a window the "life support" system, we saw the recovery area where the fish are checked by a vet (a small pool), and we saw the lab (some desks, cabinets, and whiteboards.) we also saw the kitchen which just looked like a kitchen. this was all in one hallway. i believe we just didnt come at a good time for the tour because she said all the aquarists had gone home so we didnt get to see them work or demonstrate anything for us. so my advice to future patrons is to schedule your tour earlier in the day (ours was 3:30) we didnt learn much and i genuinely dont think they should hold tours when theres no aquarists! thats on them. anyways! the touch station employee was nice, the front desk was nice, the tour guide was nice (the only issue was there wasnt much to see the aquarists went home. the tour guide did a fine job.) photo desk lady was Not nice. thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

Negative experience: Over priced for what it is. It's an attraction for children primarily. It's kinda cool, the shark tunnel is the best part. But I highly suggest going during the week when all the kids are at school. Otherwise it becomes a chaotic scream fest. Especially in the shark tunnel, kids scream and bang on the glass. Which is why I give it two stars. You're honestly better off going to the Toledo zoo and seeing the Aquarium there. This one is tiny. You can see the whole thing in around 15 minutes. Go during the middle of the week, like on a Wednesday. It'll be much more peaceful without all the screaming- out of control toddlers.

Negative experience: The aquarium itself was nice but the staff left something to be desired. After being told we close in 1 minute (this was the only warning we received of the closing time) we got to the gift shop area, upon reaching the area we were told they were closed and we wouldn't be able to purchase a stuffy for my daughter. I have been in multiple stores at closing time and have never just blatantly been refused a purchase, I could have understood if they said we are closing and if you would like to purchase something then to check out but to just say outright i was not able to buy anything really rubbed me the wrong way. Will not be visiting again.
