SEA LIFE at Mall of America

Positive experience: It is very small. There is a dome of sturgeon. A dome of salt water fish and a dome of sharks. Then you ste l down to jellyfish and sea horses. There is a sting ray spot they charge you $5 for 1 shrimp to drop in in the tank. I wouldn't go back. The one in new jersey was nicer.

Positive experience: Way overpriced for a small aquarium that takes 45 minutes to walk through. Do yourself a favor and buy the coupon book at the mall and use the $7 off coupon for the after 4 arrival time. You have to buy your tickets online.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! It's really great value and honestly one of the cleanest aquariums i have ever visited. The water is pristine, and all of the aquatic life is clearly visible. Really enjoyed the experience and would most assuredly come back again if I'm ever in Minnesota in the future.

Fantastic experience: Small, fun little aquarium at the Mall of America. Try to go when it's first open, otherwise I assume it would be too busy to really stop and see anything. Great variety of sea life, with a quiet space about half way through featuring coloring activities. There are quite a few stopping points as well with little bubbles for the kiddos to pop into the exhibits.

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing experience for the kiddos!! They had so much fun while learning about love in the sea! We did go on a Saturday so it was a little busy but not bad! Even though we didn't purchase the adventure packs they were still given little pamphlets to collect stamps throughout the tour that they could turn in at the end for a little prize! The best part was our tickets were good for the entire day! So we went through a couple times! My youngest son has special needs and requires a large wagon to be able to do outings I was so pleased that the path was wide enough to accommodate our needs! It was also very convenient that there are elevators located at the beginning and the end of the tour to avoid the escalator hassle! 10 out of 10 definitely recommend to everyone with kids and special needs

Positive experience: Fun but overpriced. You would think they would space you out a little more, but it was so crowded it was hard to relax and enjoy. Cool once, probably won't go again. The MN zoo is easier to get around, and cheaper!

Positive experience: I would have to say it was a cool experience. I have to agree about it indeed being overpriced for the amount of stuff you get to see and do in there that’s for sure. Would I visit it again, I would have to respectfully say no.

Fantastic experience: This was a fun aquarium in the Mall of America that was filled with cool creatures, with everything from sharks to clown fish! The highlight was a long meandering underwater tunnel filled with all sorts of cool fish! A must-see!

Negative experience: I really wanted to enjoy Sea Life at Mall of America, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The underwater tunnel was definitely the highlight — it's visually impressive and a cool experience. However, beyond that, the rest of the aquarium felt very short and underwhelming. There wasn’t much to see or do after the tunnel, and we went through the whole place much quicker than expected. What made the experience worse was the issue with the photo package. We paid for the deluxe option and were told it included free digital copies. But when trying to access them online, we were asked to pay again for the downloads. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times to Sea Life and to Magic Memories by phone and email, but no one has responded. It’s frustrating, and at this point, it honestly feels like we were scammed. For the price of admission, I expected a much better and more engaging experience. I've been to other aquariums and this one was unfortunately the least memorable. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially given the cost and lack of customer service follow-up.

Positive experience: I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. My young grandson's also loved it. So many fish and sharks. It's wonderful but overpriced.

Positive experience: Kids loved it. My son loved the sharks. 3 stars because it was so packed, literally arm to arm with other ppl. Tickets were sooo overpriced.

Negative experience: I don't support this. Sting rays need bigger aquarium. Need space to turn over and do back flips ect. Sting rays are being kept unnatural in shallow water.

Fantastic experience: A truly phenomenal aquarium to visit. It’s not a huge aquarium by any means but what it does have is this long underwater tunnel. It absolutely makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. I don’t remember how long that tunnel was but it felt like I was in there for hours, there’s so much to see.

Positive experience: Dear Sea Life Team, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share feedback about our visit last Saturday, which we made possible thanks to a Diamond Service Award ticket I received. While we were excited for the visit, the check-in experience left us feeling uncomfortable. When I presented our ticket at the front desk, the first staff member seemed unsure how to process it and called for assistance. A lady came to help, but during the process, she repeatedly said how much she hates these tickets. She said this multiple times, and it was quite disheartening — especially in front of my daughter. My daughter was excited about the visit, but hearing an adult say they “hate” something so strongly — in a context tied to our entry — made her feel as if she herself was not welcome. She even asked me if the lady meant she hated her. That moment really affected the start of our visit. We understand that sometimes staff may face challenges with certain ticketing systems, but we hope that future interactions, especially with families and children, can be handled with more care and kindness. Thank you for taking the time to hear our experience. We still enjoyed the exhibits and appreciate the opportunity to visit.

Fantastic experience: We drove 7 hrs to come to Sea Life and it was all and above our expectations. AMAZING! Our favorite part was the tunnel top and being able to walk through and see under all the sharks etc. The jellyfish exhibit was beautiful. We fed shrimp to the stingray and touched sea urchins and man that water was cold lol. Fun for the whole family. Well worth the drive and unlimited trips through, for the day. We got our family photo at the end.

Positive experience: Minus 2 stars for our incredibly rude and not kid friendly tour guide (was super short, snotty, acted very unhappy to be at his job), if our toddlers even made a peep he was visibly agitated. 3 stars for the rest of the experience- the kids had a blast at the aquarium, not so much with the tour.

Positive experience: The rating: Overall, we had a good time. A good attraction to visit. The good: The enclosures are well designed and look cool. The aquatic residence are active and healthy. The tide pool educator was very friendly and answered all or questions. (Thanks Preston) I really like the parts where you could pop your head up in a bubble to see the animals up close. The iffy: The aquarium tunnel gets REALLY loud when it's busy. Don't go if you have any claustrophobic tendencies.

Fantastic experience: Incredible aquarium experience! SEA LIFE at Mall of America is a must-see! The 300 foot underwater tunnel is stunning sharks, sea turtles, and rays swim right above you. The rainforest and coral reef exhibits are immersive and full of vibrant life. Great for all ages, with interactive touch pools and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Perfect spot for families or a relaxing break from shopping. Highly recommend! SEA LIFE is beautifully done and packed with educational moments, impressive marine life, and interactive exhibits that make the whole experience feel dynamic and engaging. It’s well worth the ticket price and makes for a peaceful (and air-conditioned!) break from the mall hustle. Would absolutely visit again.

Positive experience: Sea life was great! A little overpriced in my opinion but what isn’t these days? I highly recommend getting tickets in advance, you can normally get better deals and bundle. We got there right at 10am on a Saturday and it wasn’t too busy! Staff were friendly and it was clean. Make sure you go to the bathroom before you start because there isn’t another until the end. My 7 year old had a blast and it was really the perfect way to start the day. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Positive experience: Cool, worth it just to see the sea turtles to be honest. Maybe it’s because it was a week day, but they don’t really have much going on it seems. No tide pool for touching rays or anything anymore. Which, I’m not entitled to but at the price I wanted it to be a bit more. Though I do recognize your paying for mall of America tourist prices

Fantastic experience: I meant to leave a review when we were there, but I got distracted and forgot. Shawn, one of the employees, found my son and me and asked if we wanted to go above the exhibit and feed the animals. My son was SO excited! This was such an amazing and unforgettable experience. I didn’t know that you can actually buy a package to do this, and I highly recommend it. The nicest thing about being randomly chosen for this, is that we just lost my son’s twin brother a month ago, and this was one of our first outings without him. Making it extra special, without even knowing the circumstances, absolutely made our day. Thank you so much for this!

Positive experience: It is small but worth it to us to go. We enjoyed the walking tube and never felt rushed. Staff was super sweet. We fed the rays and enjoyed the touch tank.

Fantastic experience: We had a great time at SEA LIFE in the Mall of America. It’s not a huge aquarium, but there’s a surprising variety of sea creatures to check out. It's easy to get to — especially if you’re coming in on the light rail, since it’s right near that entrance. One thing we liked is that your ticket is good for the whole day, so you can come back later if you want a break from shopping. Our teens thought it was cool too, which is always a win. If you’re already at the mall, it’s a fun little escape and definitely worth stopping by.

Fantastic experience: Great time here looking at some aquatic animal life here in the mall. The staff were informative, the exhibits were well organized, and it was worth the price, despite the tickets being ~$25 each. I liked the tunnel with the animals swimming above and bar the tunnel, with the beautiful and unique sharks, turtles, sting rays, and fish. The rest of the experience was fun with other wildlife being shown. Would recommend stopping by this aquarium at the Mall of America as a good time consumer for the day.

Fantastic experience: I have visited Sea Life at MOA many times with my two children. Pros: Very beautiful aquarium tunnels with many different saltwater, freshwater fish, and sea turtles. Two pop-up tubes that children can crawl into and stand up to feel like they are within a bubble inside the aquarium. Lanes are wide enough that faster patrons can pass you without you feeling rushed through. Stingray touch pool is always very fun. With the bonus of feeder shrimp being available for purchase. Cons: During some peak times and days, it can become very loud and congested in the tunnels. The ticket prices seem very high. I would advise buying tickets ahead of time from the Sea Life website. Kiosks are available at the entrance of the aquarium.

Positive experience: This is a very thoughtfully designed aquarium. Very immersive. Very continuous. Kids loved it. It's quite small, though, for the price. And there aren't any good areas to really soak in some time with the creatures. It more felt like you were constantly walking through a line that happened to be a cool line. Not worth the price, in my opinion. Won't be back.

Fantastic experience: Wow! cool place for adults or with kids, like have a walk in the park without the weather or the sound of nature. Good place to connect with friends or love one's , a time to reflect, or have exciting conversations . May also be the atmosphere where you get an opportunity to talk about maybe hard topics. The sea animals created a soothing vibe, the fact that there's no distractions or any interactions with the wildlife you can get quality time with yourself or the company that may have joined you.

Fantastic experience: We took our 7 month old with the grandparents and it was SO fun! Our little one had a blast exploring the colors, sounds, and things that moved. Great experience for this age. I wish we used the mothering room in the mall, there was not a place to feed a bottle quick during the experience.

Positive experience: Great place! Amazing fish life! The staff either needs training to be more helpful or new staff! When me and my group went to the front desk to get our wrist bands, the lady scanned them and everything, went to stand in line and when we got up to go inside the exhibit, the other lady who was helping us said that we didn’t have to stand in a line after we scanned it up front. The front desk lady there did NOT tell us that we didn’t have to stand in the line, which wasted a whole hour for us to have to end our day earlier at the Sealife exhibition and the Nickelodeon Universe.

Negative experience: The behind the scenes tour was a waste of money. Very disappointed. My kids were bored ( my husband and I were also bored) and the person giving the tour was uncomfortable, couldn't hear anything they said and just stood there in silence frequently not saying anything. Don't waste your money on it

Positive experience: This was a fun experience! Super easy to buy tickets online and show them on my phone. We had no wait - showed our tickets and walked right in. The tunnels with fish swimming over and around were really cool! We loved seeing the fish and sharks and rays and turtles from underneath! It was a little short - we were thru in about an hour. Overall, this was a really fun experience for the family.

Fantastic experience: While it was incredibly busy, the experienced staff was wonderful and patient. All of the creatures were delightful to see and my family and I had a lovely time. I definitely think it's worth the price but just a heads up, they do not take cash in the gift shop.

Positive experience: It’s a tunnel not an Open aquarium. Was entirely too crowded. Does not appear they do any sort of crowd spacing. Jamming as many people into the tunnel as they can. Was not worth the money. Fish were beautiful. Was very clean. Staff was friendly.

Fantastic experience: My family and I enjoyed the aquarium immensely. We made the visit twice this past Sunday. An aquarium guide Sean gave us a phenomenal tour providing us a behind-the scenes experience. We got the opportunity to feed some of the animals making this trip memorable for my entire family. I highly recommend making the visit to the Sea Life Aquarium.

Fantastic experience: Loved the aquarium. It was busy, but despite the size of the line, we got in reasonably quick. Such a great place to take the family! My niece loved the dive stations where she got her book stamped. And the bubbles where you can crawl in and see more inside the tanks are so fun!!!!

Fantastic experience: I love anything that helps you see animals in a natural or near-natural habitat and that is what Sea Life offers. Incredible views of animals in their habitat and some are not what you expect. It is definitely worth a visit and not what you would expect in a mall.

Fantastic experience: The aquarium was interactive & very entertaining. The 360° tunnel was the best part. Seeing the fish swim all around us & having information about each one was educational. The VR experience was enjoyed & worth the $7 fee to do. We went during the week so it wasn't very busy & we could take our time through the exhibits.

Fantastic experience: We did ticket+behind the scenes. I thought the tour was interesting and it was cool to get to go on the decks above the tunnel. Worth the little bit extra. Rest was cool, though I could see it being a different experience if it was really busy since the whole place is basically one long pathway.

Positive experience: We really like SEA LIFE. it is a great place to bring your family and friends if they've never been. A couple downsides for me personally: it makes that whole section of the mall smell really bad. That's to be expected, but still reality. Also, we bought the season pass two years in-a-row. I would not say it was worth it because we never used it enough to recoup the cost, and/or we forced a few visits when maybe we would have preferred to do something else. But again, super fun to visit.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I hope to return. It is definitely family friendly. An overall great experience. Was able to take some great photos. Our clerk at the gift store went above and beyond to help explain the process of following an animal I had purchased a bracelet for.

Positive experience: Underwhelming. Cool concept and educational, but way too small. Nothing like The Georgia Aquarium. I'm not knocking it, but the admission price was not worth it. Anyone who reads this review, please go see it. It's totally worth it for kids.

Fantastic experience: Visited Sea Life from Canada with little one who loves watching fish. We had a fantastic time. Lots of different types of fish to sharks and rays. Little one loved having the sharks and bigger fish swim over us in the tunnels. The Jelly Fish area is also very fascinating! It was pretty busy when we visited, however, it was a Sunday so wasn't surprised. The wait to get in wasn't too bad either, around 15 mins. We noticed lots of little stops for the kids along the way for them to interact with and then the big ray pool at the end before the gift shop. I would 100% recommend visiting.

Fantastic experience: Every time we visit we like to stop at Sea life. Would like them to bring more new species of types of sea creatures not just fish though.

Negative experience: I was excited to bring my son to Sea Life. We picked an 11am time slot. There was a line that wrapped around the corner when we got there. We made it downstairs at about 11:45 and had to stand in yet another slow moving line. This line wrapped around multiple corners, one of which had multiple families squeezed into a tiny alcove. We stood in this second line for about another 25 minutes & were still nowhere near the front. The wait time was EXCESSIVE & the environment we were waiting in was extremely cramped & hot. My son could not handle this and we had to leave before we could make it inside. This an experience that costs entirely too much to be ran so poorly. I am extremely disappointed with our visit and upset that my son could not experience the aquarium. To have customers still waiting to enter over an hour after their entry time is unacceptable. The one star is for the 1 extremely patient employee standing at the top of the escalator.

Positive experience: I had a great time at SEA LIFE at Mall of America. The exhibits were fascinating, and the underwater tunnel was a highlight. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. It was a bit crowded, but overall, a wonderful experience. Four stars!

Fantastic experience: Great aquarium located in the basement of the Mall of America. We went on a Sunday and it was really busy. About a 20 minute wait in line to start the tour, but worth it. Obviously very kid friendly and hands on to keep kids involved and entertained the entire time. Started with a rain forest type exhibit then a tunnel through the sea. There were multiple sharks, turtles, rays and of course various fish that swam around you as you observed. Finished the tour though a seahorse and jelly fish exhibit then finally a stingray tank when you could feed the stingrays. If you wanted there was also a touch tank at the end to interact with fish and sea life. Overall a great experience that lasted about an hour. We paid just under 30 dollars a person and if you book online a few days ahead you save on the price by quite a bit.

Positive experience: The tunnel where you can see the sea life was amazing. Decent size aquarium for being in a mall but was a little expensive. For the price I wish they offered a little more.

Fantastic experience: We had great time with our kiddos ages 5-10. The tunnel was so fun and to see the fish above us was super neat. The employees were especially nice and we even had a special surprise at the end and were treated a special tour of the tanks from above and got to feed the fish and Eli gave us a great tour, we were so appreciative that Morgan pointed out our family to him!

Positive experience: Great aquarium for it to be inside a Mall. We bought tickets online but missed our time slot, and I was told that on non busy days you are able to come in at any time.

Positive experience: Not the biggest but one of the coolest aquariums I've been to! I did the all access pass, me and my friend were the only ones for the behind the scenes portion. We got a nice private tour of their feeding, water and got to explore the walkways above the tanks! We also did the virtual reality experience, which was okay. The touch tank was pretty awesome, as well as some of the unique creatures that they had.

Fantastic experience: Always such a great place to spend a day off. The tickets aren’t super cheap— but they are valid all day, so you can leave and come back at your leisure. the exhibits are immersive, and the larger tanks are massive. when I encountered staff, they were so sweet and knowledgeable. we decided to go on the behind the scenes tour, which provided a super cool angle to view the tanks in, and showed us where the rescued turtles like to hang out. definitely worth it to see! I love going to this spot, and hope to be back soon

Fantastic experience: My friends and I visited for what was MY first time ever, and I was so impressed with the staff, sweet animals, and care they're being provided. Shawn gave us an amazing Shark Talk, and even gave us a behind the scenes look and animal feeding opportunity. They were amazing and we learned so much!

Fantastic experience: My family and I went to sea life On a federal holiday. There was a good amount of people doing the same thing we were, But this didn’t impact our experience In the slightest! We got in fast, we did everything we wanted to do! The staff answered any questions that we had. Especially any of the questions my nephew had, which he is six and has a very curious mind! I love how Camyren, One of the staff, Was so attentive to my nephew and encouraged his questions! She answered all of them with “that’s a very good question” and then told him the answer, which made him feel like his questions were very Important! He’s even now considering doing exactly what she does when he grows up, In the same place. An allowing him to feed the fish, give him an even more personalized experience that he loved so much, and I think made the biggest impact on him. She made this experience so amazing and have such a big impact on his life and we are so thankful for this interaction!

Fantastic experience: This place was amazing!! I went at 11am on a week day and for most of the visit we were the only ones there. The tunnel was gorgeous and peaceful, it was amazing seeing the sharks and stingrays swim above us. We even got to feed the turtles and watch the sawfish being fed!! They take your picture and at the end you can buy it for $25 + optional $5 frame, I thought that was nice. We ended up not paying anything for our tickets thru the Mall of America app. Definitely worth it!!

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing and the staff was above and beyond cooperative. So I had purchased my tickets at the kiosk inside the mall. The kiosk must’ve been having some problems, because my tickets never printed or came to my email. I was sent to their customer service desk, where they had refunded me for the tickets I purchased and gave me a set free! Just amazing. My kids absolutely loved it.

Fantastic experience: Great Aquarium! Knowledgeable experts and staff! Great customer service. The path through the aquarium is completely accessible with a motorized scooter. The virtual reality experience isn't easy to access for all people who are differently abled; and the aquarium leadership should consider setting up an accessible option for people who cannot climb into the pod chair. My daughter shared that having a headset without the movement of the pod chair would have been just as enjoyable, perhaps through a Metaquest or equitable headset. Otherwise, it is a really great experience to share with family as a holiday gift.

Fantastic experience: We really enjoy our membership to Sea Life, but had an especially memorable visit this week. Staff member Camryn was giving educational talks in the shark area and was kind enough to show our kids around behind the scenes between presentations. She was so kind and really made our day! Thank you for such a special visit!

Fantastic experience: On par with some of the better aquariums I visited like Ripleys and sea life in New Orleans. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, kids loved the multiple aquarium tunnels and sting ray bay! Tickets are a few dollars cheaper online but the kiosk at the mall are easy to use to get tickets right away!

Positive experience: Just beautiful! My kids loved it and the facilities were right and clean. It was a really great experience. The first day that I got there it was full of people and the line was huge, so I returned the next day at 10am when they opened and I went through the entrance with no wait.

Fantastic experience: To think there is this advanced aquarium underneath the mall was a definite surprise! There is plenty to see and the underwater tube was great! If you have the time for sure get your ticket and it will be worth your time!

Positive experience: The tickets are a little pricey (about $25 a ticket), but there is a pretty good amount to do. The exhibits are very appealing and very well maintained. There were lots of in-your-face encounters in the tank areas. My daughter absolutely loved seeing the sharks. I would recommend going if you are really interested in seeing marine life.

Positive experience: It's was ok I guess honestly I felt it was a little lame for the price. I mean do you see sea life yes. So was it cool yep. If your at the mall and have an hour or two to kill. Go for it. Smaller kids will love it.

Fantastic experience: The walk through the jungle was great, seeing things like tarantulas and frogs and many other things, to the massive aquarium tunnel where the fish and turtles swim right over you, jelly fish, star fish, sting rays, sea turtles and a plethora of other things always a good time

Fantastic experience: For what you pay this is a fantastic stop for all ages. I cannot stress enough how amazing the staff is, and how much they work to provide and care for these animals. I've been here quite a few times, and have never been disappointed once. I often will say to come around during the week day because it'll be less busy where on weekends it will be pretty crowded with the massive crowd of Mall of America. The shop has actually really affordable plushies for just about $20 but great quality and size. Plus they are all unique to the aquatic life at the exhibit. Honestly if you live in the area I would also suggest getting a membership because it pays for itself in just two visits.

Fantastic experience: It was a great experience! Watching sharks, sting ray, and other fishes from the side and bottom was so exciting Their halloween decorations were so cute!! Ticket can be purchased from kiosks or online. They do military discount to the military member and the people go tour with. Only in person purchase though (no discount option on the website). Ask the staff before heading to the kiosk! They will help to apply discount on the machine

Positive experience: The kids really liked it but it was stupidly expensive for what you got to see. Even taking our time walking through it, we only spent about an hour there and we had gone through everything. We did think the underwater pumpkin carving was neat.

Fantastic experience: Was the most absolutely breathtaking place. Very fun for all ages, to including adults children lol. Loved the part where you can tough different kinds of sea creatures.

Positive experience: It was cool looking at the sea animals and they had tons to see! I loved the tube but the line was a bit long. My favorite animals that I saw were the sea horses and jellyfish.

Positive experience: Great experience! Awesome views and the tunnel is amazing. I labeled it 4/5 star as the cost was a little high for an activity that lasted an hour.

Fantastic experience: They say this is the biggest in the state but it seems a bit small. It's decent though as I do enjoy the guided road to go through all the attractions there. We saw quite a number of sharks and sea turtles. Lots of varieties for fishes and insects. My boy would've loved it here. For the price at 25 bucks, not too bad! You can even buy shrimp at the end of the aquarium to feed stingrays in the pond.

Positive experience: A nice aquarium with a pretty obvious walk thru. The underwater tunnel is really the main draw. We had found flyers for a coupon for $2 off when buying online but you have to pick an entrance time. Also the online service fee is more than the discount so...
