Fantastic experience: It was very nice taking my grandson to the science center. It was very educational and fun. The most interesting part was that there were animals that we both never heard of.

Fantastic experience: I have been here many times with family and I have never been disappointed. I have done Skywild and it was spectacular!! This place is amazing in their care of animals and staff. They truly care about education and animal welfare and I am looking forward to their expansions! The place is split up well so the crowds are usually pretty strewn about and it does not get too crazy in any one spot. There is a huge variety of animals to see and also different exhibits and experiences. The dinosaur petting zoo is a must for all ages!!! If I lived closer I would get a membership but I am out of state. Thank you to all the staff for your animal care and education efforts! You are helping our future when it comes to wildlife conservation and getting the next generation interested!!!

Fantastic experience: My family has visited this location several times and each visit is just as good or better! It's the perfect day trip for small children, but there are so many exhibits and things to do for all ages. They offer concessions but also allow outside food and drink which is great. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable about the center and the animals/exhibits and the animals appear to be well-cared for. While a lot of things stay the same, it seems like they have a rotation of new things as well. We got to visit the new butterfly exhibit on our last trip. I love that it's a one stop destination for a zoo, aquarium, and science center. They also have a large outdoor playground with climbing ropes, slides, and treehouses. We will definitely come back and be recommending to others

Fantastic experience: Kids had a great time! Explored the aquarium, butterfly gardens, dinosaur exhibits, petting zoo and my daughter made a friend with the baby hippo!

Fantastic experience: Loved my day with my grandkids here. We enjoyed it very much! The Skywalk and zip line experiences require advance notice which I wasn't aware of. But there was plenty to see and do without those.

Fantastic experience: 10 out of 10 experience. Went with my wife and we spent about 4 total hours. The exhibits are fantastic and the layout of the center is a pleasure to wind through. Excited to see what they add in the future!

Fantastic experience: I love getting the chance to visit the Greensboro science center, it's never dull and I always manage to take some great photos! The employees and volunteers really seem to love their work too. I will say the pretzel I bought from their Cafe was dry and hard while still being oily and the cheese sauce didn't taste like cheese at all. But at the same time I'm there for the animals not the food.

Fantastic experience: We stopped here on a trip back from the beach to let the kids play and get their energy out before going to the hotel. This place always great! I wish we had gotten there earlier and spent more time. We ended up only being there from 3-5 (they close at 5). It was awesome! There's a petting zoo, zoo, aquarium, space center, ropes course and a playground with treehouses and rope bridges. So cool! I think I liked it as much as the kids did. We will definitely stop here again and plan to spend more time there next time.

Negative experience: I am disappointed and very concerned for the animals at the Greensboro Science Center for the following reasons: 1. enclosures inappropriately small 2. insufficient staff to prevent unsupervised children antagonizing/endangering animals (e.g., repeatedly throwing items, rattling cages, slamming aquarium tanks) 3. exorbitant prices ($20+/adult) given the relatively few open exhibits 4. industrial construction equipment operating ~10 ft from tortoise exhibit (see video) 5. rude/ dismissive front desk staff 6. palpable mold odor in aquarium exhibit with improper ventilation 7. $2.99 for an expired Uncrustable at the Meerkat Cafe (minor in comparison, but criminally greedy nonetheless) My experience here left me with the sense that this establishment is organized solely around profit with zero regard for wildlife welfare, education, or advocacy. I entered at a discounted rate, and still I wish I could get my money back. Consider the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro! or the aquariums by the coast, or even the Blue Planet series.

Fantastic experience: Was a fun experience. The aquarium had a nice selections and some i had never seen. The zoo portion was well laid out. Of course there are some animals that are tough to see but that's expected. Was really impressed at the space they had. The construction area was unmarked with what this new area will be. Would add to future excitement.

Fantastic experience: Wow!! Just WoW!!! I have a teenager and 8 year old and they both had a blast. They both left with big smiles!! Wonderful animals, gorgeous aquarium area and we could’ve spent the whole day in the dinosaur exhibit!!

Positive experience: The aquarium and zoo are very nice but the science center was underwhelming, they had a free play areas (which the kids lived) but nothing I would consider a science center.

Fantastic experience: I've been to the Greensboro Science Center several times over the past fifteen years, and my most recent visit revealed to me how much it has grown, as well as how much they are continuing to grow. This is a fantastic location to spend the day focusing on various forms of science. If you haven't been lately, then you haven't been at all, as this Greensboro attraction is ever changing.

Fantastic experience: Aquarium, museum, and zoo all in one! You can bring your own food & have a picnic, there's a good mix of indoor and outdoor activities, you can pet a stingray and shark, and there's always a special exhibit that's very interactive using augmented or virtual reality. I highly recommend!

Kids loved the dinosaurs and animals in the small zoo . Can’t wait to return and it I more . It was raining the day we went . I would definitely recommend the science center to young and old !

Positive experience: Huge place with different types of activities to spend time especially for kids. Acquarium, animal exhibits, omnisphere, butterfly house, kids play area and others. Small cafe for a quick snack and accessible areas throughout. Felt $22 with tax is a bit high with what we have but you got enough things to spend half a day and also you can reenter same day. Omnisphere could have been bit different as quality was not that great. You do have science shows regularly as well.

Fantastic experience: My family and I love coming to the Greensboro Science Center. It's a zoo, an aquarium, a farm, and a beautiful hike all in one. All the enclosures and habitats are beautifully maintained; you can easily see how much the keepers care about all the animals, and how hard they work to provide proper enrichment all seasons of the year. I'm talking habitats with natural plantings. Fig trees the gibbons can pluck for snacks. Dense vegetation for the fossa. Logs and natural hides for the sand cat. It's amazing. They have an array of different species to admire without it feeling like attention and care is being compromised. The priority here is animal welfare. Conservation. It's obvious in every direction you look! And not just for the specimens directly in their care: they also have tons of native plantings throughout the landscape for wild birds and pollinators. I was delighted to see all the plant species endemic to North Carolina. For my part, one of my favorite exhibits is the fairly ordinary one: the farm! Yes, the maned wolves are amazing and who doesn't love a tiger, am I right? But getting to pet an alpaca? Having chickens run over your feet in hot pursuit of that juicy grasshopper? Sign me up. I could stand there all day. Every time I visit it gets better. Right now they are building a rainforest dome and I absolutely cannot wait. I will be one of the first to visit!

Fantastic experience: We took a day-trip here with our one-year-old, and it was so much fun! There’s plenty to see with an aquarium, outdoor zoo, dinosaur exhibit, butterfly habitat, and more. It’s a very family-friendly facility. We were able to navigate with a stroller just fine. My personal favorite area was the butterfly habitat. Both the butterflies and the plants were so beautiful. I’m looking forward to planning more visits here in the future! :)

Fantastic experience: My family had a great time today! Granted it was packed, almost shoulder to shoulder and very hard to find parking but it was a beautiful day out. The weather was in the 70’s. It’s so much fun. We walked the inside aquarium and the outside trails. We also rode the carousel And the zip line

Fantastic experience: I loved it. Each exhibition takes probably 30 minutes to an hour, but gives you the opportunity to go quicker to keep your kids occupied. I like that i can do an aquarium, zoo, reptile, and museum all in one go. If i lived closer id have a membership for sure!

Fantastic experience: I was pleasantly surprised actually and for the entry fee I think it was very, very reasonable. The facility is bigger than I thought, with nice inside and outside exhibits. The ground kept up very nice. I spent a good three hours and that’s not really stopping and reading a lot of the animal information. There was a few exhibits that were either empty or the animals were hidden, but that’s to be expected. Definitely not a complaint coming from me, a former zookeeper of 15 years. I enjoyed it.

Fantastic experience: Great place. On the small side, so don’t expect acres and acres of zoo. What they do have is top quality. Really worth the visit. The science aspect was a lot smaller than I hoped for though. It is a great way to spend a half a day

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic time at the Greensboro Science Center! Plenty of parking made arrival stress-free, especially on a weekday. The center itself is the perfect size for a half-day visit—not overwhelming, but packed with enough to keep both kids and adults engaged. Although we didn’t get a chance to try it, the SKYWILD aerial adventure course looked incredible—definitely something we’d consider on a future visit. The playground was hands-down the best I’ve ever seen at any zoo or science center. Our kids could have easily spent hours there alone—it’s that good. The aquarium is also a highlight, featuring a large tank with sharks, another with an impressive octopus, and a hands-on tank where you can feel stingrays and small sharks glide beneath your fingers. Don't miss the pendulum clock in the center of the building—it’s a simple but mesmerizing stop during your visit. All in all, this place is absolutely worth the price of admission. Highly recommend for families looking for an engaging, well-rounded experience.

Fantastic experience: The Greensboro Science Center is always buzzing with activity, and for good reason! It’s such a fun, engaging place for all ages. Between the aquarium, zoo, and hands-on science exhibits, there’s something exciting around every corner. Even when it’s busy, it never feels overwhelming because there’s so much to explore. They’re constantly adding new exhibits and experiences, which keeps every visit fresh and exciting. It’s a must-visit if you’re in the area!

Fantastic experience: This is such a local gem. My daughter and I love coming here as often as we can. My only feedback is they need to consider taking entry reservations, expanding parking, and limiting capacity. It can be very crowded at peak times, but on off-peak times, it is a dream to visit!

Fantastic experience: I wanted to take a moment to recognize an exceptional employee at the Greensboro science center—Devan, who was working in the aquarium section near the shark tank. From the moment we arrived in her area, Devan was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to engage with my 9-year-old daughter and her friend, patiently answering their questions and sharing fascinating facts about the sharks, Maggie and Lexi, and the marine life. Her passion for the subject was obvious, and her ability to explain things in a way that young kids could understand and get excited about made a huge impression. I truly appreciated her kindness and the genuine interest she showed in helping them learn. Thanks to Devan, our visit was not just fun—it was memorable and meaningful. She turned a cool exhibit into an unforgettable educational experience. The science center is lucky to have her!

Fantastic experience: We had a great time on a field trip. There were multiple schools that day and it wasn't crowded. Lunchtime at the cafe was a little more congested but not bad. We loved the animals! There was a peacock walking around, we saw a pygmy hippo, gibbons, meerkats, maned wolves (a fox wolf thing with long legs that was super cool), penguins inside, sharks, GOT TO PET sting rays, and a sheep. They have an animal hospital that would be awesome to see in use. Cafe had a great mocha frappe!

Positive experience: Amazing Place to Visit ! 1. Good for children and kids as there are many options to play. 2. Can be improved a little bit. 3. Booked tickets online with a price of $21 per adult. 4. The best part is the ZOO area. You will get to see a lot of endangered speices or animals. You can find tiger, red panda, flamingo, penguins etc. 5. Meerkat Cafe serves good snack options. 6. You can enjoy free farm area where you can see animals like donkey, miniature horses, alpaca, goats etc roaming around.

Positive experience: We went to the museum twice. Once for my son's field trip. We enjoyed it so much we took our family when they came from another state. I will focus on our second visit with family. It was busy, but the exhibits were great. There were a few things I didn't care for. Parking was a little crazy because it was so busy. We went around 1pm and it was springbreak. Early morning was definitely better for parking when I went for the field trip. It was a very warm day and unfortunately it was also very warm inside the museum. It felt like the air conditioning was either not working or not on a comfortable temperature. We were in the aquarium, and my son got excited and touched the glass. An older female employee pointed her finger at him and yelled at him not to tap the glass. I don't have a problem with her telling him touching the glass isn't allowed, but her approach was so unprofessional. Then she stared him down and still was pointing even though he stopped immediately. That put a temporary damper on our experience. He's 6 and didn't understand why she was being mean. I didn't get her name, but I would expect for the price of the tickets all employees should be respectful and ensure people have a good time. Lastly, we were so hot, hungry, and thirsty and went to the cafe. The bottled drinks were all warm. That was so disappointing because we wanted something cool to drink and preferred bottled drinks since we had young children. Food choices are limited so we got a snack and decided we were ready to leave. I will note the cafe staff are very pleasant. Overall, my family enjoyed the experience and could even look past the parking and food/drink situation. However, the grumpy old employee made us say we wouldn't go back.

Fantastic experience: Perfect place to take the youth! So much to do! While it is a Science Center, it is for ALL ages, from toddler to adults! The highlight for younger kids (ages 2-10) has to be the large treehouse playground outside! I love that it has ,everything in one place: Science, a Zoo, a Farm, a walking trail, a Playground and even a beautiful Carousel at the back parking lot! Inside the center there is even small play areas for the little ones. In addition, it has food areas too.

Fantastic experience: Great place for kids, you could spend the whole day there. Not exceedingly large but it has a variety of things you can do including seeing a peacock right up front and many more things (see photos). It also has pretty cool holograms, which I thought was kind of awesome. Definitely worth a trip.

Positive experience: Ok place to visit. Gives kids something to do. Deffinitly not a zoo or big aquarium. Some of the zoo exhibits had nothing in the enclosures. The farm section was closed. Slightly dissapointing to be honest. Very busy also and it was a weekday. Place was clean and well maintained.

Breana Gwyn 4 months ago

Negative experience: Disappointed by our last few visits. Our first visit ( 5 years ago) was great just about all the animals were out at the zoo and my kids were entertained and not bored. Unfortunately our last 3 trips have been extremely disappointing. I feel there isn't much in doors that is hands on or interactive for the kids to do, the zoo and aquarium are the "Main attraction " but on our last 3 trips the zoo is lacking quite a bit. We have went different times throughout the season warm, chilly, and hot days but it seems the animals are never out on exhibit and are always in their indoor homes and away from the public to see.

Positive experience: There were ten of us, split of adults and children. We walked around for 3 hrs and did not cover everything. It was a great time. Being that it was on a Sunday and a bit cool some of the larger animals did not come out and the see in veterinarian rooms were closed. That is why I have a 4 instead of 5

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful day here at the Greensboro science center and aquarium recently. The aquarium itself is very nice and an attraction in itself, but they have so much more, including ample exhibits and play areas for young kids to enjoy. We really liked the dinosaur exhibit and outdoor zoo. Will definitely be back soon to see the remainder of what we missed during our initial visit.

Fantastic experience: The Greensboro Science Center is AMAZING! We brought our 5-month-old baby and had so much fun! We started with the penguins, because they were so close that he was able to see and track them really well. The aquarium with jellyfish and reef fish was also a crowd pleaser! I'm so impressed with the exhibits they had, including pygmy hippos, meerkats, lemurs, servals, and maned wolves. And I can't wait till our little guy is older and we can do the ropes course--it looked awesome! We loved the place so much that we bought a family membership and are excited to return. This is definitely worth a visit, for kids and adults of all ages.

Fantastic experience: We absolutely LOVE the Greensboro Science Center. We have been coming for decades and have been members for a few years. Buy the membership guys, it’s worth it! Plus you get discounted rates for the classes offered but the center. My son recently did the coding class and he enjoyed it tremendously. We home school and always go during the weekday mornings and have a good quick experience (as long as there are no field trips lol).

Positive experience: Been going here for years and overall it's a very nice place. I recommend it to family and friends. This last visit I was disappointed to see so many places with reptiles, birds and small animals are gone and replaced with areas off limits to guests. Are you ever allowed to pet the goats anymore? Closed on weekdays and weekends when we've been. The Cafe has really good fresh sandwiches and decent food. Prices are reasonable. Lots of play areas for little ones outside and small area inside.

Positive experience: "4/5 stars! Our family recently visited the Greensboro Science Center and had a fantastic time! Fantastic experience: What a great experience! My family and I drove a couple of hours this morning from Virginia for a day trip to visit the science museum and we were not disappointed. Buying general admission tickets was a quick process and the staff member who helped us was great. I’d actually like to take a second to mention that all of the staff we interacted with or saw today were amazing. Everyone we came in contact with loves their job and it shows. There were several groups of school children today and each member of staff was patient and kind to each of the kids. We saw one student at the front desk who had been separated from their group, and staff worked very quickly to locate their group and reunite them. The atmosphere was fun and the exhibits are interesting and enticing for kids to get excited about learning. My daughter loved all of the interactive exhibits and her favorite part was going to the zoo. Every different section or wing of the museum was clean and orderly. Each of the restrooms we visited was also clean and well stocked. I would definitely recommend visiting and spending a few hours walking around and enjoying everything the science museum has to offer! The price is also very reasonable for all of the different things that can be done and the fun things kids can do. The only complaint I have is actually not related to the museum at all, but actually with some of the chaperones from whichever school(s) were there today. It’s a children’s museum, kids are going to be kids, but there were quite a few who were let to run wild or run into me while I’m carrying my 11 month old baby. Honestly, some of those chaperones weren’t much better, also pushing past a woman holding a baby because they’re in a rush for whatever reason. It is very exciting to see everything and it can be hard to remember to be patient, but please remember to be the example you want to see! My family and I loved visiting and we definitely will again soon.

Positive experience: Buying tickets online allows you to get in quicker. For being a local science museum it's great. We went for the aquarium for an assignment my child had in school. The lines to do activities weren't super long if they had a line at all. Everything was clean and well maintained. There wasn't a ton of stuff but for the price it definitely exceeded expectations.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience. Great fun with the animals, the tigres and aquarium were the favourite of the kids. There was so many things to explore that two days could better to see everything without rushing. The petting zoo was a hit too, the goats there were huge! Fantastic experience: We love taking my daughter here. Her favorite areas are the aquarium and the kids indoor play area. My little girl is autistic, and it can get crowded, so we make it a point to bring her headphones with us, just in case. However, there is a sensory free/quiet room available for families in need. It's perfect if you need a diaper change, quiet place, or a place to breast feed. We are so thankful for it. I hope that more of these rooms will be added in the future since I'm seeing more families in need of it. As a parent with a kid on the spectrum, we are super thankful for a quiet retreat. ❤️

Fantastic experience: Visited the science center with my daughter and her class for a field trip. We had a great time. It was freezing outside, and some of the animals didn't like the cold, but neither did we. The kids had a great time on the strategically placed playground. The aquarium was awesome. All of the staff were great with the kids and very educational teaching them about the animals when they had the opportunity. I was very pleased with the experience.

Fantastic experience: My childhood! This place is perfect and I could see myself making monthly visits to see all the animals. A gem for Greensboro— take your children, they will absolutely love it but also the perfect spot for an interactive date. The center is clean and neat.

Fantastic experience: The Greensboro Science Center is perfect for families with kids! The center is a mix of aquarium, museum, and zoo. The interactive exhibits, especially the touch tank and petting the friendly farm animals was the best part of our visit. It’s a wonderful place for fun and learning—can’t wait to go again!!!

Fantastic experience: I love this place! The animals are well taken care of and you can tell they spend time trying to enrich their residents lives. I recently did the penguin encounter and I loved it! The staff were so helpful and friendly and you could really tell they care for their animals. My favorite animals are the red pandas and the binturong. I love that they have a little bit of everything. Well kept aquariums, a museum, petting zoo, and large enclosure for different animals. Would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I did the penguin encounter with Devon, Alex, and Kristal and it was incredible! They were so knowledgable about the penguins and worked together as a team like clockwork coordinating movements of the group and timing. I learned a whole bunch about the African penguins here and it was so cool to get so close to them. The penguins were very cute and friendly and I can honestly say I crossed an item off of my bucket list! This experience was definitely worth it and it was something I will never forget!

Fantastic experience: This year marked the 3rd annual trip we made to take in the Christmas lights and different attractions. First off , outstanding and we both immediately kept noticing all the really great displays and how everything was 100% operational. It was just an amazing trip, and we both had a wonderful adventure. It was much chiller than our previous trips taking in the lights. I couldn't possibly have had a nicer time if we tried. We made new memories and took many new pics. Thanks again for an amazing 2025 x-mas celebration.

Fantastic experience: We had a really great time. We came December 30th 2024. We had so much fun. We was a group of 11. At the end after the Carousel Ride for some reason my daughter started slightly choking on something I don't know if it was her hair or fuzz from her Christmas outfit that she could have been choking on that was bothering her throat but the staff was really helpful the staff called for somebody to bring her some water and I cannot remember the gentleman's name he was a worker he had longer hair and he comes running from another building and brings my daughter some water to make sure she's okay and she was fine after she drinks something. That gentleman was beyond nice and wanted to make sure she was fine prior to us leaving I am so happy that he cared and wanted to make sure she was fine. We do plan on going back again in the future. It was a wonderful experience.

Fantastic experience: The Greensboro Science Center is perfect for families! We took our 18-month-old niece and loved the mix of aquarium, museum, and zoo. She was fascinated by the animals and interactive exhibits, especially the touch tank. The staff was friendly, and the space was clean and well-organized. It’s a great spot for fun and learning—we’ll definitely be back!

Positive experience: Let me say first, only 4 stars due to last year xmas light show. Bought tickets for 7 pm. Show up around 6:30 and drive around parking lot for half hour, no where to park. Left, loss of money due buying ticket for that day and time. This year, 5 pm. Got there 4:30, parking starting to fill but got a spot. Went inside and just hung out till dark out. Lights are good. Glad I got to see this year. Would recommend. Would recommend only 5 pm tickets(parking packed when we left at 7).

Positive experience: We went for the lights, I'm sorry, I don't really feel it was worth the price. There was no one directing traffic at the road, and sure enough, there was a wreck at the entrance. Took us over 30 minutes to get in. They did have pretty lights

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience with traffic - it’s certainly frustrating when unexpected delays occur. While we don’t have control over road incidents, we’re glad you enjoyed the lights once inside. We’ll continue working to make the event as enjoyable and seamless as possible for all our guests. Thank you for visiting, and we hope you’ll consider giving us another try in the future!

Fantastic experience: I LOVE an aquarium, and have been to many, but this one had the best touch pool I've ever seen. I was able to pet the stingrays for 45 minutes! I am obsessed. The zoo part was also really cool, and you could tell they really care about their animals and give them plenty of space. The Red Pandas were a DREAM. The morning is an excellent time to go cause the animals are just waking up and it's not super busy.

Positive experience: Went to the holiday lights, as we have done before. You absolutely need tickets in advance as it sells out on weekends and near the holiday. My kids loved walking through darkened zoo and staff were very friendly. The big negative is parking. When we arrived this year the police were only directing traffic at the entrance and it took 20 minutes to find a spot. During that 20 minutes we witnessed two people strike parked cars, multiple people parking where spots didn't exist (making it even more difficult to simply drive down rows) and several cars honked at pedestrians and other vehicles. If you can ride share there and back it's probably worth it in this case.

Fantastic experience: We arrived at 10:30 a.m. on a Saturday and walked straight up to the ticket window, no wait. The center was nearly empty and it was a beautiful day. Many animals were out in their habitats, playing or eating. The walking tour is self-guided, so we did about half the center in a little over two hours, focusing on the outdoor exhibits and the laser show in the Omnisphere. We did not visit the aquarium or the Bug House. We ended with a quick stop in the gift shop. Beautiful property. Well cared for.

Fantastic experience: Interactive exhibits are mostly animal centered. Lots of indoor exhibits and tons of outdoor exhibits. This is Real a good zoo for smaller children as it is a half-day visit for smaller attention spans.
