🗣️ Seattle Aquarium: Reviews
Positive experience: Despite the remodel, this place still feels separated! Was super excited to visit, but the flow of the sites wasn't easy to follow. The second half (newer half) had a long line for the elevator and felt super hot and congested. When we arrived, they didn't seem to care about our reservation time, let alone that we planned ahead. If you're going to be so strict about times and charge an arm and a leg, at least make it seem like it. It was a chaotic mess of people.
Fantastic experience: still awesome like it was back in 99. but much more interview at the newer section. the older part of the aquarium.. needs to expand for the sake of the wildlife . the seals have to small of pins, same with the otters. an the birds i think the city of Seattle should give more care to this educational structure an expand the older section that holds an cares for these bigger creatures, on the water front i know the new structure was awesome, but these seals otters an birds to have bigger yards. same with the octopus. he's house in a 2-3 for glass tube! very sad for me since i love all creatures. but my autistic daughter enjoyed this place. bright an colorful, interactive seals with her.
Positive experience: It was VERY expensive for what it is. It was also incredibly busy with a cruise ship being in port. We had a hard time getting through to the exhibits because of how many people there were. It was also twice the price of the Zoo for our family of 4 and we had a much better time at the Zoo. If you've run out of ideas for the family, it's a nice aquarium to fill an hour or so of your time. Otherwise I highly recommend something else that gives you more bang for your buck. 4/10 Recommend.
Positive experience: Brought back some good memories. The exhibits are well done, especially the otters, real crowd-pleasers. Kids would love it, but even us older folks can appreciate the calm and beauty. Many thanks to the staff, specfically someone who helped me when I was lost!
Fantastic experience: We visited the Seattle Aquarium on a Sunday using our CityPASS, and had an awesome time! The aquarium is made up of three connected areas — including the main building on Pier 59, a smaller exhibit space, and the new Ocean Pavilion, which just opened recently. We actually caught a feeding session and a live explanation in the new pavilion — it was really engaging and helped us appreciate the space even more. Watching the fish get fed while hearing about their behaviors and the reef ecosystem was such a cool moment. But honestly, our favorite part was still the touch pools in Pier 59. We loved gently touching sea stars, sea urchins, and even a sea cucumber. It was super hands-on and surprisingly relaxing. If you’re in Seattle, this place is totally worth a stop. Whether you follow a tour or explore on your own, there’s so much to see, touch, and learn — especially for ocean lovers!
Negative experience: Probably the biggest waste of money I've ever seen. The space is small, I've been to zoos that have bigger/better aquariums than this place. Over $100 for our family of 3 to go through this is ridiculous. The outside portion was also very dirty feeling. The only minor saving grace was the touch tanks for my son.
Negative experience: Of all the aquariums we've visited across the US, this one ranks as our least favorite. It felt more like a tourist trap than a genuine city attraction, leaving us with a sense of regret about spending our CityPass ticket here. The aquarium is divided into two buildings: one is quite dated, featuring poorly maintained tanks and some rather disappointing exhibits, everything just felt very grimy. The newer building has nicer tanks and displays, but it's too small to justify the price. It seems more tailored for children than for adults. Ultimately, we left feeling disappointed, especially for the wildlife living in the older section of the complex, it’s just sad.
Negative experience: There's a Red Bull can can the Salmon River run, and they spend more time catering to special interest groups than they do children.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely lovely aquarium! Was really excited about the new building as well and loved the exhibits! It was a bit of a process to get into the building with the ticketing system, waiting in line to buy your tickets for a specific time slot and only being able to line up again to wait to get in. I understand it’s to prevent a clog of people, but it was a little annoying. Overall though, a great experience!
Fantastic experience: A little small but worth a visit. We enjoyed the Life on the Edge touch tank a lot! The aquarium staff were polite, personable, friendly and knowledgeable! The sea stars and sea cucumbers were awesome. The seals were cute. If you have small children, sit as close to the seals’ tank as possible and you will get great videos of your kiddos with the seals. The seals LOVE seeing children. Overall, a great visit.
Fantastic experience: It was a very fun experience. Definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area.
Positive experience: We had to make advanced reservations for a timed entry at 10 a.m. Sunday visit in May through CityPASS. They only have a 5-minute entry window, so I recommend being on time. We walked to the pier and aquarium from our Airbnb, but the parking looked very limited and expensive. They have three buildings, one of which is the Ocean Pavilion, the newest and nicest. There is also one beautiful large tank and several other smaller ones with excellent written or audio descriptions provided. The second building had several touch tanks that the kids were enjoying. The third building featured sea lion viewing and presentations, birds, and other forest wildlife. All three buildings had timed exhibits and presentations, and it took us about two hours to complete them. I recommend coming when it first opens because it gets busy and crowded by noon. My older son and I enjoyed it, but we probably would not return since we’ve seen it.
Fantastic experience: My first ever stop when visiting Seattle and stopping at both parts of the aquarium just before leaving on our cruise. Aquariums are just something I think are really really cool and enjoy a lot, the puffins were unexpected and cute to, well cleaned.
Fantastic experience: Totally way awesome everyone needs to go. The touch pools are amazing the coolest looking fish and the lay out of the aquarium is perfect the staff is awesome and quick to teach you something I can nerd out on this but if your in seattle you need to get the city pass it well worth it.
Fantastic experience: The three buildings that make up the aquarium as a whole are pretty awesome. Small bit nice selection of wild life. They look well cared for and in good spirits all things considered. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended to tourists and locals alike.
Positive experience: the ocean pavilion was nice and new, but not that big. exhibits in the original aquarium looked out of date. it was nice to see their animal care exhibits & talks. overall, the aquarium was pretty small and underwhelming. we only went because it was included in the citypass, otherwise we would’ve skipped it. considering the cost of tickets, it’s definitely overpriced (depends when you go tho). although, the views of the water were pretty.
Positive experience: The aquarium is really nice. I just don't think that it had enough exhibits
Positive experience: The Seattle Aquarium is a little expensive for what it is, but also not bad. There are lots of varieties of fish, environments of looking around, under or up to keep you engaged. The new interactive screens to find out what something is, less easy to use than the signs, but more variety can be added without walking around an entire exhibit. The aquarium, plus ocean pavilion, show off some neat things, but the two together can be a hour, or longer if you really go and explore each tank and read each sign. At the end of the day, good space, missing some of the more impressive animals other aquariums may have, in a good location, and a bit more than I would like to spend per person per visit.
Positive experience: Buying tickets online and reserving a time was quick and easy. Might be wise to park elsewhere and walk there. There’s a line outside of the building for entry for your time slot. Upon entering, they offer to take a photo for your group. ($ to be printed) You will reach the only interactive area and the gift shop first. Layout is a bit confusing since there are multiple buildings including the new Ocean Pavilion. However, overall a lot of looking at sea creatures and a handful of seabirds. You do need to exit the Pier59/60 and walk across the open area to the Ocean Pavilion to continue your visit. In there, it’s more-so just a massive fish tank that you can walk around and another gift shop. The visit took about an hour to an hour and half if you don’t have children with you. It’s kind of your regular tourist attraction that is on your travel list to go to, but I wouldn’t go for a second time. It wasn’t a bad experience per se, but I don’t see a point in seeing the same things again. However it can be a nice experience for kids. 4/10 would recommend unless you got kids
Fantastic experience: refresh your mind here with whimsical swiming creatures
Positive experience: There a good collection of sea animals and mainly fishes .It’s near the wheel where you can enjoy the ride on it.
Fantastic experience: Really nice to see the local sealife and to touch seastars, anemones ... Also a beautiful large aquarium with tropical fish and several small ones. My favorite: the sea otters! Supercute to watch.
Negative experience: I have visited Seattle many times but have never been to the aquarium. This trip my husband and I bought tickets on a Thursday in June. Unfortunately, we roamed the exhibits with about 200 school children who were quite rambunctious. We understand it’s a field trip for them and they had a blast, but it did impede our ability to enjoy the aquarium as much as we would have liked. Also, we hate to admit, but this aquarium does not measure up in any way to four others which we thought were premier including: Atlanta, Baltimore, Monterey and Mystic. We always enjoy contributing to establishments like this and don’t regret going. It just didn’t meet our expectations.
Fantastic experience: No wait time if you buy the tickets in advance and if you arrive in time. Photos are taken upon entry and you can have them printed or downloaded for around $40. We enjoyed the sea lions, otters, sting ray and more! Kids will definitely live this place!
Fantastic experience: I really loved this experience when I first encountered I thought it was small until I went outside and saw two other sections. I made so many good memories here with all the pretty fish especially at the large tanks with the sharks. Overall just a really nice experience with lots of fascinating fish and their touch tank.
Positive experience: Great location. Little pricey now though for what little they offer. The kids love it but it is a little fast for almost 50 bucks a person.
Positive experience: Pretty good, sounds weird, but could use more fish?? Like more actual fish to look at and less screen fish? I like the Denver aquarium better. It just . . . It just has more fish to look at?? Also, the gift shops were just . . . lacking. Can’t beat the beautiful location, though $60 to park and $38 per person. This will be a once every couple of years type place for us unfortunately. Oh the tour guide people were lovely and knowledgeable.
Positive experience: This is a wonderful aquarium. Lots of interesting exhibits. Very knowledgeable and helpful aquarium workers willing to answer any questions. Fun hands-on interaction with sea creatures. But I found the signage on exhibits lacking in amount of information and very poorly lighted... especially in the newer part of the museum. They were so dark they were largely unreadable. That's why the rating is 4 stars instead of 5.
Fantastic experience: It's a great aquarium for kids. Now, it's more easily connected to Pike Place Market. Pro tip: don't wait in the long line for the elevator, cross the street and use the elevator for the parking garage instead.
Fantastic experience: Omg it was a really nice experience Huge place with a lot of fish and other animals Highly recommend Don't think just go, you and your kids will be happy ♥️
Fantastic experience: When we travel to New cities we always like to check out the aquarium if they have one. Seattle's aquarium is definitely worth the price of admission. We will be back again in October and are already planning to take the folks through it!
Fantastic experience: This was truly a great experience and fun day! It was cloudy and misty. This was my first time visiting the area. We stopped by the Ferris Wheel prior to going inside the aquarium! I highly recommend doing this and then having lunch here! You will enjoy
Positive experience: I know Seattle isn’t necessarily “known for its aquarium” so I’m def giving it grace. It was interesting just seemed a bit limited. Def some super cool parts like the fir seals and otters!
Positive experience: The newly built phase / ocean pavilion is very nice and must see if you visit the aquarium. I would say the aquarium is quite small and can quickly see everything. Parking garage in front is convenient and less pricey than the other ones. Just park and walk across the street you will reach the aquarium
Positive experience: The newer reef building is great. The older side houses the otters and seals, but is pretty underwhelming otherwise. They did have a nice touch tank and we saw several different presentations about the animals during our short time there.
Positive experience: Well, I thought that other people's reviews were a bit harsh being that they stated that the $40 admission fee was too steep and that it just wasn't worth paying $40 & totally agree. The only new attraction was the huge pool that held salmon, rockfish etc. I did like the sea lions exhibit. They are a lot bigger in person. A lot bigger than you'd think, but they are really adorable.
Fantastic experience: Met wonderful volunteer, Melinda, today at Seahurst Park during the low tide. I learned where a Moonsnail lays eggs and how they drill holes in clamshells. It was a perfect day for loads of beach education. Too bad other beach goers did not know the rules about observation (without holding octupi out of the water or putting critters in buckets), though. Maybe the Seattle Aquarium could have those signs made to display, too?
Positive experience: The aquarium is very nice, a whole interactive touch pool and lots of staff who are more than happy to share about the fish and mammals!! Overall very nice experience. Will note that we came early, around 9:30-10 on a weekday so it was not busy, so it might be a lot different on weekends
Positive experience: The aquarium was an okay aquarium. Spent a couple of hours here, especially on the newer exhibt. I am rating this a 3 star due to other aquarium that I have been to across the US that there are better and more interesting aquariums to see. It is still worth it to come check it out.
Fantastic experience: We love the seattle aquarium the staff is always super frindly and knowledgeable the animals are well looked after bathrooms are clean all around great atmosphere will keep going back
Fantastic experience: The new Ocean Pavillon is a great addition to the Seattle Aquarium. We visited during a weekday so there were no crowds. The Aquarium is not too big, so it’s perfect for a two hour visit, with plenty of species to see. Don’t miss the underwater dome!
Fantastic experience: We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this aquarium. The seal exhibit was a highlight—well-designed and captivating. The aquarium features a nice variety of tanks showcasing diverse aquatic life, and the admission pass grants access to two separate locations, which added value to our experience. While the $40 admission per adult felt a bit steep, especially considering some exhibits offered limited viewing angles, we still felt the visit was worthwhile. The jellyfish and octopus displays, in particular, were fascinating and a joy to watch.
Fantastic experience: Lots of fish and animals to see, staff was very friendly and informative. Parts of it are outside so maybe plan a trip during warmer weather, unless you don't mind the cold.
Positive experience: I really enjoyed the aquarium, especially the new building, which is more modern and features much larger, well-lit tanks. I’d like to highlight the attentiveness of the staff—they were constantly answering questions and providing detailed information about each species. The bird section, although small, was particularly interesting due to the variety of species I wasn’t familiar with. It’s a great activity for children, especially because there’s an area where they can touch starfish and anemones. In that section, staff members are on hand to explain how to interact with the animals safely and without causing harm. I also found it fascinating to see the laboratories dedicated to animal care, along with the spaces used to gradually introduce species to their new habitats, and for rehabilitation or medical treatment. The only negative aspect—and one that made me feel quite sad—was seeing the otters and seals in such small enclosures.
Positive experience: Price is high, but genuinely enjoyed this aquarium. Worth checking out.
Positive experience: Honestly wasn't impressed with the experince. Did our usual run through old aqarium and then checked out the new aqarium addition. The place was clean but very basic with little directions and flow. Also some small leaks that happen to drip on people randomly.
Positive experience: We wanted to check out the aquarium. It was OK. It was interesting mainly for kids a little overpriced. I don’t think we’ll be visiting there again. We were disappointed.
Fantastic experience: The new addition and older aquarium were amazing! The new one has some of the most unique tanks and architecture designs I have ever seen. The behind the scenes of the aquarium exhibit cuz by far my favorite part. Would definitely recommend. My little ones loved it
Positive experience: A decent place to visit, especially if you have some younger kids. The place was a bit tricky to navigate, as the buildings are not connected.
Fantastic experience: Loved this aquarium! Love that you can go to all three buildings for one ticket. We especially loved the seals/sea lions/ otters and bird exhibits! But definitely a great spot to check out and it’s right next to the Pike Place Market!
Fantastic experience: Very interesting. The main part of the aquarium focuses on the Puget Sound and the ecosystem there. It was great to learn about what I was experiencing during my visit and the vital importance this waterway has. I was stunned by just how much wildlife was right off the boardwalk.
Fantastic experience: Great displays and so much to do and see for all ages. I'm impressed by how kid friendly this place is. I will definitely try to bring my grandkids here!
Fantastic experience: Visiting the Seattle Aquarium was a splendid experience. They have a stunning collection of fish and marine life, and the scenic waterfront location makes it even more special.
Fantastic experience: I couldnt love this place so much! Its so pretty, and your near pike place. Sure, compared to other aquariums, its not as good, but still! So pretty! Best part? Gift shop!!!
Fantastic experience: A lovely spot and good for a family visit. There are three sections so just because you’ve seen everything in one building doesn’t mean you don’t have more to explore! Walking distance to Pike Market and lots of restaurants. I’d say for a couple about two-three hours if you take it slow. Not a lot of food within the aquarium, but that isn’t a deal breaker. Again, the market is right there. The staff was friendly and informative. Plus great views of the sound on the pier. We actually saw some wild seals when we went from one building to another! Great for a family visit and can be bought with City Pass. Make sure you schedule your ticket ahead of time if you do city pass though!
Fantastic experience: Lots of different things to see. They added a coral reef section with new creatures. Water dome. Lots of learning for kids. We live here and visit often with the annual pass.
Fantastic experience: It's got some very nice tanks. Abby in the tropical pavilion and Jessica near the touching pool made it well the price of admission, she gave us a great overview of all sorts of fish. Thanks for making our visit so great!
Positive experience: Nice aquarium didn't see any sharks but the otters were active and great spot to bring the kids
Positive experience: Loved being able to take the kids there and let them explore all the animals in a safe environment. You can really tell that the staff really are passionate about being there and sharing with everyone. Loved hearing all the little answers to the questions and felt like a kid all over again. It's pretty cool to see the new addition on the other side and see just how many exhibits they've added.
Fantastic experience: Visited this aquarium while in Seattle. It was a great aquarium with lots of different things to see spread out over three areas. Make sure not to miss the newest building with all the sharks and stingrays and fish in a big dome. There's a gray area for touching the sea life in the first part. Make sure you keep your tickets because you will need them to enter into the buildings.
Positive experience: Very cool and beautiful aquarium, very knowledgeable staff, would love to have seen more than a couple of sharks, but overall really cool.
Fantastic experience: One of the best aquariums I’ve been to in the US. Definitely recommend going here.
Fantastic experience: GREAT place to visit, paid parking a must since there is not easy access to bus services unless you walk back to pike place market. ALSO new Aquarium is nice but a little under welming for the hype.
Positive experience: Oh it was cool alright what I like the most was the seals they were really cool looking and I heard Barney the seal passed away R.I.P for Barney but it was cool at the aquarium that's all.
Fantastic experience: I've been coming here since I was a kid. Some parts are exactly as I remember which was great. I got to watch the sea otter show which was very informative and fun. The new addition to the aquarium is pretty incredible. Being able to look up and see a ray swim overhead was pretty surreal and it's always great to see all the people upside looking up as you pass the aquarium. A must see in Seattle.
Positive experience: The aquarium is not very big and pretty pricey but we still had fun. The new building is big but doesn't have much in it. I suggest getting there early so you can get parking in one of the garages. Definitely get tickets before coming otherwise you have to wait in two lines before entering. One to buy your ticket and then you have to wait in line for your time slot you're assigned too.
Positive experience: Kind of pricey but cool to visit. There are 2 buildings to go to while you visit. The newest building is nice! A lot to see!
Fantastic experience: Overall an amazing experience. It was quite busy when visiting with our large party but everything was smooth and there was no shortage of good views of the exhibits. I personally enjoyed the wave pool, jellyfish, and the seals. The location offers incredible views of Seattle from the top of the stairs leading to the waterfront walkway. Stunning modern architecture contrasts with more traditional buildings in all kinds of colors.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time at the Seattle aquarium! I bought a city pass and this was one of the attractions, worth every penny!
Positive experience: This location offers a pleasant way to spend a few spare moments. The atmosphere is quite agreeable for a casual visit. While not extraordinary, it provides a perfectly suitable environment. It serves its purpose adequately for those seeking a simple pastime. Overall, it presents a decent option for a brief interlude.
Negative experience: We visited the aquarium today because our children were excited to go, and we decided to get a membership. We were impressed by the wide variety of marine animals and plants, and the newly opened area was well-designed, which made us feel good about signing up for the membership. However, there was one major issue that left us very disappointed. As we were entering the newly opened area, our child’s toe was scratched by a sharp corner of a metal door frame. It caused bleeding and an injury to the toenail. Thankfully, our child was wearing sneakers, which helped prevent a more serious injury. But had it been summer and our child had been wearing open-toed shoes, it could have resulted in a much more serious accident. This is a place frequented by many families and children, so we were surprised and concerned that such a hazardous part of the metal door had not been addressed. Safety in such environments should be a top priority. What was even more disappointing was the response. We informed a staff member that our child was injured, but they did not check on the situation and simply responded with a brief apology just “I am so sorry about that.” It felt dismissive and left us feeling quite let down. What should have been a fun and memorable visit ended with our child in pain, and we were unable to enjoy the rest of our time there. I sincerely hope that the aquarium takes this feedback seriously and takes steps to improve safety and staff response in the future.
Positive experience: We came to the Seattle Aquarium using the Seattle CityPass. This was one of the included attractions. We were able to walk to the aquarium from our hotel. It is in a nice spot on the edge of the water. The aquarium is split between two different buildings, and you must scan your ticket if you leave one building and enter the other. All of the people who were working were very nice! The exhibits were pretty unique in their shape, such as the underwater dome. There were some cool outside exhibits that had seals and birds. They have an octopus but I did not get to see it, sadly. The newer building was disappointing. We probably spent about 45 minutes overall between the two buildings, which says a lot to me. I could spend hours and hours in an aquarium- so for us to only be here for less than an hour was disappointing. I think that for the size of the aquarium and the price that it costs for regular admission, it is not worth it. However, since it was included in the CityPass, I was happy to go.
Fantastic experience: Definitely purchase your tickets beforehand if you can to avoid having to wait in line. The entire aquarium was full of such amazing creatures, and the habitats were very clearly well maintained. Every employee we encountered was knowledgeable, kind, and great at educating guests. The show that was put on in the newer building was very informative and entertaining, and the equipment for it is quite impressive! 10/10 would recommend this as a must see when visiting Seattle.
Fantastic experience: My 4.5 month loved the aquarium. She is hard of hearing and uses hearing aids, excelled and loved everything about it. The exhibits were easy to maneuver with a stroller and the guides were very informational. Great way to spend the morning.
Positive experience: The first aquarium is looking super rough, the new part of the aquarium is looking better. I wish they would pay attention to the first aquarium as well!! See the water quality diff in the pics?
Positive experience: With the addition of the second building, the Seattle Aquarium has become a destination worth seeing. With the "touch" tanks, outside areas, and huge viewing tanks, there is plenty to see. If you are lucky enough, you'll see salmon returning up the sea ladders. Only draw back is that admission is very high and so is nearby parking. I'm afraid the price will keep some families unable to visit.
Fantastic experience: This is not the Aquarium I went to as a kid... Bright and welcoming with loads of exhibits and plenty of staff. From the "petting" area to the mammals or into the new oceans pavilion it's great... highly recommend the new oceans exhibit.
Positive experience: Nice remodeled aquarium. My partner saw a medium sized skate. Lots of kid friendly things to do, and incidentally a lot of children too. They seemed to like the exhibits and were enthusiastic. Will come again soon. A little on the pricey side but worth it.
Fantastic experience: Awesome time with the family during spring break. Wasn't really busy during the weekday. Overall, it was a great experience for the whole family to enjoy.
Fantastic experience: It was a good time, my family's first time going. The variety of fish and sea life was more than I thought to see. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The VR experience with the Manta Ray's was cool too. $9 I thought was a reasonable price. Snacks and drinks throughout the aquarium were expensive though, but part of that is due to helping take care of the aquarium. Got to see some sea anemone feeding which was cool, and the sea otters were active. Parking was not very good, just because there is none on the pier, so you have to look for street parking, a public parking lot, or a parking garage and walk, so be sure to look for parking options before heading over.
Fantastic experience: Great new facility. Great design that allows you to view the huge tank from multiple stories as you view all the new and precious exhibits. The jellyfish breeding tank was a big hit with our kids. Staff is always very helpful and never had any issues when asking questing about any of the exhibits. If you are a licensed foster family, remember to bring your license.
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing time bringing my granddaughter here for her 1st time. It was a super busy place and crowded. People were rude but the staff was awesome. There was so much to see and the new addition was definitely a must see. I was a bit disappointed they had virtual area. I know that's what kids really like but I think they're in need of reality not a virtual world.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time at the Seattle aquarium. There is a new section to explore that is included in the ticket purchase. The new side is modern and pretty cool however there is more entertainment in the original side. The price is expensive per person so I recommend getting class pass to maximize the tourist experience ( get class pass if you plan to do multiple museums/ attractions) The aquarium is family friendly, check show times so you don't miss any shows.
Positive experience: Wildly packed. Will never visit on the weekend, again. I used city pass and it required a reservation time, however, a friend of mine went to their website directly and still had to do a reservation. When we were able to see an exhibit it was very nice. So if you can stand outrageous crowds, it’s worth it.
Fantastic experience: Another great attraction on the waterfront. Large open aquarium right at the entrance. Life on the edge exhibit allows kids to go hands on with local sea life. Guides readily accessible to teach kids and adults alike about the various sea creatures. Lots of interpretive signage about oceans and the local sea life for environmental education purposes. Awesome octopus exhibit, so you can see this amazing unique creature up close. Signage on the wall nearby explains all the biology of this fascinating animal. Definitely a must for families with kids to fit in some environmental education in while hitting all the vacation hot spots like the space needle and museums.
Fantastic experience: Was able to see Barney the seal before he passed. All the fish and animals look very well taken care of, and the touch area was awesome
Fantastic experience: Omg!!!! Went to the Seattle Aquarium and it literally brought back the memories of my childhood. I haven’t been there since I was in kindergarten . Love love love it !!! If you have friends and family who like never been there, please take them: full of wonderful fishes!!! What a beautiful experience!!! Highly recommended!!!
Positive experience: The new part of the aquarium is beautiful. Huge tank. The original part is cool. Great place to visit.
Fantastic experience: We love it! That option to touch sea urchins got my kid very excited. We have been in the Aquarium of Vancouver, Toronto & Seattle. They all look pretty similar with small differences of the layout and sea life emphasis.
Fantastic experience: Fun for everyone. The remodeled Aquarium had a lot to see. Very well arranged.
Fantastic experience: I recently had the most amazing experience at the Seattle Aquarium with my brother and his kids, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, we were all in awe of the incredible marine life on display. The highlight of our visit was definitely the giant octopus – it was absolutely mesmerizing! Watching it move around and interact with its environment was truly a sight to behold. The kids were particularly fascinated by the baby jellyfish. They were so delicate and beautiful, and it was amazing to learn how these little creatures survive in the ocean. We spent so much time just staring at them in wonder. But it wasn’t just about the exhibits – the aquarium also offers fantastic hands-on experiences, like the touch tank. The kids were thrilled to gently touch sea stars, anemones, and even sea cucumbers – it was both fun and educational! What really stood out to me, though, was the wealth of knowledge shared by the staff. They’re so passionate about the ocean and its creatures, and it really made our visit feel even more special. We learned so much about underwater ecosystems, local marine life, and conservation efforts. All in all, our trip to the Seattle Aquarium was an unforgettable experience. It’s a perfect spot for families, offering a mix of fun, hands-on activities, and plenty of opportunities to learn about the amazing creatures that call the ocean home. We left with a new appreciation for the underwater world and a bunch of great memories! ❤️ Bridgett
Fantastic experience: The aquarium has only gotten more and more amazing, the tropical aquarium add on is such an amazing experience. It's almost indescribable. It's immersive, beautiful, educational. You are right there with the animals. Family friendly, accessible to everyone, accommodating, just amazing. They also have military, Microsoft and senior discount. A must do in Seattle❤️
Fantastic experience: Really great aquarium and that is very much worth the produce of admission. The new building is especially nice with a modern feel. The mammal exhibits with seals and otters is very fun. Being right on Puget Sound waterfront provides a lot of other opportunities as well.
Fantastic experience: We had a great time. The new section is wonderful and the older section was fabulous as always. Loved the otters, guitar fish, octopus, tropical fish, and garden eels. The only drawback is tickets are $50 which I'm sure prices some folks out and that is sad.
Fantastic experience: We visited the Seattle Aquarium on a Saturday. Some friends and family walked on the ferry since the Seattle Aquarium is a short walk on the waterfront, while I drove over and found convenient affordable parking. We had maybe a 10 minute walk that went through Pikes Place elevators. We had 8 kids with us ranging in ages, and we had a decent time. It’s much smaller than I anticipated and very crowded. The little kid play area is very small but they enjoyed what was offered. Didn’t have the energy to thoroughly look through the gift shop, but they had a ton of cute merch. Highly recommend: -bringing filtered water from home rather than drinking from their water fountains or buying water bottles -wagons or strollers if you have littles bcs it’s a lot of walking and heavy crowds -eating prior to entry & bringing snacks
Fantastic experience: The second building is beautiful now. Personally I’d skip the touch exhibit and spend more time beyond where the full dome viewing experience is. No dedicated snack area, so kids pop down where the touch exhibit is and eat there. Very common and done by the school field trips.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful aquarium and it seems like they are doing some really great work helping out the wildlife!
Fantastic experience: Experience was beautiful. So calming to see the beauty beneath the sea. Don't miss out on the virtual reality experience into the ocean.
Positive experience: Staff is extremely kind, friendly, and informative. The area is well maintained and the new addition is great! Thought there would be more sea life since we are in Seattle.
Fantastic experience: Seattle Aquarium is an amazing place, well-designed with both an old and a new building, offering a fantastic experience for visitors. The exhibits are engaging, especially the interactive displays with sea urchins and starfish, where you can even touch them! It’s a great way to learn about marine life up close. The aquarium is well-maintained, and the layout makes it easy to explore. Both the old and new sections have unique features, making the visit even more exciting. A perfect spot for families, marine life enthusiasts, or anyone looking for an interesting experience in Seattle!
