Fantastic experience: We had a great time exploring the rainforest pyramid! The flora and fauna are absolutely gorgeous. Parking was okay; not great, not terrible. The rainforest pyramid gets VERY hot in the summertime, especially on the top level, and it's very humid. I should've expected this because it's inside a glass building with the sun beating down on it, and the humidity is also important for the animals and plants - it is a rainforest, after all. But I was still surprised by it. If you're sensitive to the heat and humidity, it's probably best not to go during summer. On the upper level, there are AC vents placed along the walkway to afford the humans a bit of respite from the heat and humidity while also keeping the "weather" the way that the plants and animals need for their health. There were so many cool plants, flowers, trees, birds, fish and bats. Everywhere you look, there seems to be a million and one things to take in. This is an exhibit that you'll want to take your time with. The more you look at any one area, the more things to see and appreciate seem to come forward. There's at least one monkey we caught a fleeting glimpse of, and one sloth that we unfortunately didn't see. The whole time we were in this pyramid, I kept wondering where the bugs were. Surely, bugs are needed to sustain the ecosystem. While I didn't see any bugs in the pyramid, I was absolutely stoked when we exited the pyramid proper into the last (air conditioned) room: bugs at last! And other "creepy crawlies," which I love so much. Tarantulas, a beautiful praying mantis, an actively molting bushwhacker pit viper (oh my goodness, what a treat!), and roaches. So. Many. Varieties of roaches. Madagascar hissing roaches, some kind of black roach with white spots that didn't even really look like a roach and so many more. To be honest, even though I love most bugs, roaches aren't among them. Even so, it was fascinating to see so many varieties of them. While I very much enjoyed this last room, if you or someone in your party is squeamish about bugs, it'll be best to keep your eyes on the floor while you navigate your way to the exit door. Once you exit the pyramid, there are a couple of benches (in the AC), just a short walk to some restrooms. On the way to the restrooms, you can stop by a terrarium and get a good look at an endangered axolotl! That li'l guy is bigger than I thought and way cuter than I could've ever expected. I should also mention that my mom uses a push wheelchair for things like this that require a lot of walking. She can walk on her own but needs some assistance when we're looking at more than an hour on our feet. We took an elevator instead of the stairs up to the second level, where the walk-through started. Once we were inside the pyramid, we had zero issues navigating the paths. There were a couple of instances of stairs, but with one exception (four steps down to get closer to a fish pond), there was always a ramp. That's good news for folks who have young kids in strollers, too. So, if you or anyone in your party is rocking wheels, you'll be good. Another thing I liked about this attraction is that it's not time bound. As long as you get there about two-and-a-half hours before they close, you can show up whenever you like and take your time.

Fantastic experience: Lots of fun things to do and see. Cheryl in the gift shop was amazing. We needed 2 days to see everything.

Positive experience: The membership pass is deceiving! The pass is really only good for the attractions. When Moody Gardens say you get 25% off room rate, it is false! You can reserve your room cheaper on Expedia. That is the reason they say it excludes 3rd party rates. Moody gardens offers the exact same rate or a little more as Expedia because they raise their rates on the room and then take 25% off so you think your getting a discount on room for having a membership. Your better off just reserving room on Expedia for the room. Do your research!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place. Relax walk around, and watch water spouts. Ride the river and palm beach wave pool. Go to all imax 3D. 4D imax is awesome. Popcorn beers, pretzels, pizza just have fun.

Fantastic experience: We go to the Aquarium pretty often with the kiddos, and always have a great time. It’s a little pricey, but worth it when we see their faces light up. This trip was especially great since the staff seemed very engaged, and kind. There was a staff member, Tiffany, we saw a few times that were, so sweet to our daughters, and two other staff at the Aquarian entrance, one had beautiful silver hair, and the other was rockin’ a cute burgundy color, a little pixie cut! They were all, so great, and reminded us as to why we go back, so often.

Fantastic experience: It was a wonderful experience seeing everything in the pyramids and aquarium. And we finished the day off at the Palm Beach water park. I'm so glad the water was kind of cold because the temperature was hot. The water felt great. We will definitely go back.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! My 7 y.o. loved learning about all the different fish and animals The aquarium was beautiful and the rain forest was breathtaking

Positive experience: Came on a Tuesday by myself. Really enjoyed the Aquarium and Rainforest. I could understand why a weekend filled with people can be annoying. But I really enjoyed the different animals and fairly peaceful environment on a weekday. Discovery pyramid was meh and didn't try the water park.

Fantastic experience: I'd like to leave a good review for Lynn!! My friends and I were having a hard time deciding how to buy our tickets and where to start on the park, Lynn was so nice and informative thank you so much Lynn for having a good impact on our trip.

Negative experience: I went to the pyramids on 06/05/25 and after finishing the 4D experience at the rainforest pyramid I was going to leave the pyramid, as I was walking out near the food court I slipped and fell on a large puddle of water. I got my pants wet and now today my leg hurts from how I landed when I slipped. You have so many employees everywhere but couldn’t get one to clean the puddle. It’s hard to even find a manager since everyone there was mainly inside the rainforest area. Kids were all over the place since they were having some sort of field trip and they left messes all over which is why there was probably a puddle. If I was able to get ahold of a manager I would of told them what happened but unfortunately I couldn’t find one during that time to show them the puddle and so that they could see how I slipped.

Thank you for letting us know about your experience. We’re very sorry to hear you slipped near the food court after your 4D experience, and we hope you're feeling better. Your safety is important to us, and we apologize for the inconvenience and lack of assistance at the time. We’re addressing this with our staff to ensure areas are properly maintained, especially during busy times like field trips.

Fantastic experience: Great place to visit with a friend from out of town with a youngster. There were not too busy on a Saturday. We had a close parking spot and plenty of opportunity to move slowly through the aquarium and rain forest. We even spotted the sloth!! We ate at the sit-down restaurant. So nice to have iced drinks with refills and good food in the A/C. We enjoyed it so much, we went through the rainforest pyramid twice. Good day trip!

Positive experience: A little pricey for how quickly you get through but still worth it as long as you buy your tickets online, at least 1 day in advance.

Fantastic experience: Great place to take kids of all ages. Getting up close to all the animals and fish was a fun experience. They do a great job keeping up with maintenance and aesthetics.

Fantastic experience: Moody Gardens is truly an incredible place to visit! It's not just one attraction; there's a wide variety of exciting things to do that make it incredibly enjoyable. The view is absolutely stunning, whether you're looking out over Galveston Bay or exploring the lush environments within the pyramids. It's so visually impressive that you'll want to take pictures everywhere. Inside, the Aquarium Pyramid is captivating, allowing you to see fascinating marine life up close, and the Rainforest Pyramid offers an immersive experience, making you feel like you're actually in a vibrant jungle. Their 3D and 4D theaters are also very impressive, providing a highly engaging cinematic experience with special effects.

Positive experience: If you buy your tickets online a day before you want to go, you get a little discount. It's very expensive 103.00 for two adults. We just did the two pyramids. They upgraded the rainforest one and it's definitely a must see. The aquarium is fun and the sea lions are fun to see along with the otters. We had fun it's just expensive to run these places and for people to go.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been visiting here twice a year for many years. Palm beach water park is really nice. Sad to see the cruise is discontinued. Somehow the garden buffet is not in service for this memorial long weekend. We enjoyed the 4D movies , 3D movies, palm beach and the movie night.

Positive experience: Writing this from mine and my husband’s joint account(this is the wife writing): Came here with our two children ages 3 and 11 months old on a Monday afternoon(5/26/25). Children 3 and under are free admission so for the bundle tickets for the rainforest and aquarium it was $60 each so $120 total is what my husband paid for us. We got our tickets and went into the rainforest exhibit, as we were entering the ladies at the rain forest exhibit who checks the tickets were extremely rude which is why I docked it one star. One of them rudely informed my husband that there were no energy drinks allowed and asked us why we didn’t read the signage which we didn’t notice until she rudely pointed it out and told us in her nasty tone. She could’ve rephrased things in a more nicer manner. The other lady then proceeded to touch my 11 month old daughter’s foot WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and got defensive when I got rightfully upset with her. which in fact caused my daughter to get the Ojo later on that night. Thanks btw . Other than those two unprofessional ladies working there, we had a pretty good experience seeing the rainforest animals and plants. After we went to the aquarium pyramid, which my 3 year old enjoyed the most. He loved seeing the sharks, penguins and jellyfish as well as the other sea creatures but those are his top three favorites. All in all it took about 2.5 -3hrs to go through the whole thing. Next time we visit the island, we’ll be going to the discovery center. Don’t forget when you’re leaving the aquarium to check out the gift shop. Lots of cool souvenirs to get.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the interaction you described at the Rainforest Pyramid — that is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide. We take concerns about staff behavior very seriously and will be looking into this matter to ensure all our guests feel respected and comfortable. We’re glad to hear that, aside from this, you and your family enjoyed exploring the Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids, and that your little one especially loved the sharks, penguins, and jellyfish. We appreciate your thoughtful tips about ticketing and the gift shop. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you and your family with a much better experience on your next visit.

Fantastic experience: We had an enjoyable day at Moody Gardens with one day value passes, which includes the Rain Forest and Aquarium pyramids, 3D movies, etc. There is no cost for parking, and wandering around the outdoor gardens is free. All the employees and volunteers are very friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have. Note that food concessions are very expensive, so if you're on a budget you may want to pack some bottled water and consider eating before or after your visit.

Positive experience: Hotel was cool. The pool was best part. A lot of other features were outdated. The food 5/10 The service 6/10 The beds 6.5/10 The walk from check in to room was super long. Two elevators and 3 hallways. Being that it’s the “only resort” in Galveston it was cool

Negative experience: Did you know that this is now a cashless place? They do not accept cash for even small purchases. Did you know if you purchase the value day pass in advance (at least 24 hours) that the online price is $20.00 less than if you purchase it at the kiosk in person the next day? By the way, there are two self-service kiosks at Moody Gardens to purchase tickets for attractions and only one person standing by the kiosks to answer questions. Did you know that the cafe in the lower level of the Aquarium no longer serves fish and shrimp meals? Did you know that the Garden Restaurant in Moody Gardens closed at 3 pm on this Memorial Day and is not scheduled to reopen until this Friday? There was a time that this same restaurant would stay open into the late evenings, but times have really changed. Did you know that the main concession stand across from the IMax Theater no longer serves burger and chicken tender combos? It's funny how so many changes appeared to have occurred since and after COVID. Well, these were the main noticeable changes that I saw. One thing is for sure, if you are planning on arriving at Moody Gardens after 3 pm, make sure to eat first or be prepared for light snacks at Moody Gardens !

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate your observations and insights — they help us continue to improve the guest experience. Yes, Moody Gardens is now a cashless facility, and we encourage guests to purchase tickets online in advance to take advantage of discounted pricing. We're glad you highlighted that — it’s a helpful tip for others planning a visit. We understand your concerns regarding the availability of dining options and changes to menus and operating hours. Your feedback about the self-service kiosks, food service, and restaurant hours has been shared with our team for review as we evaluate ways to better serve our guests throughout the day. Thank you again for your thoughtful comments, and we hope to welcome you back soon for an even more enjoyable visit!

Fantastic experience: We did a scouting overnight with about 30 people, it was a fun experience. The tour guides were great; very informative and patient with the group. We had the choice to sleep near the penguins, coral or seals and it was very chilly. We were also allowed to touch the sting rays. The only negative was the add-on lunch option the following day: we ate at the visitor center which I think was poor planning as we were 30 people clogging up the tables in the middle of the seating area and the food bordered disgusting. The chicken tenders were not edible for some and the cheeseburgers were hard and everything was cold except the drinks, those were room temperature. We also went into the rainforest pyramid and it was nice, you get a glimpse of the different layers from tree tops to the ground.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We’re thrilled to hear your scouting overnight was fun and that our tour guides helped make it memorable. Sleeping near the animals and touching stingrays sounds like an adventure your group won’t forget! We also appreciate your honest feedback about the lunch add-on. We're sorry to hear the food didn’t meet expectations and that the setup was inconvenient for a group your size. We hope to welcome you back again soon for more exploring—maybe with warmer food and cooler drinks next time!

Positive experience: We had a fantastic time at Moody Gardens, exploring both the Aquarium and Rainforest Pyramids. It’s very toddler-friendly, with plenty of engaging exhibits and space for little ones to explore safely. Parking was easy and convenient, which made the visit even smoother. Fantastic experience: As a full grown adult this was fun. As an adult with nieces and nephews this was even more fun. The exhibits are well kept and accessible to see no matter how tall. They’ve done a great job. The penguin encounter (must buy an additional ticket for) was worth every penny. You get to go behind the scenes and actually interact with the penguins they have there. It was really something great.

Negative experience: absolute rip off of an establishment. misleading discount offers and high prices with absolutely no customer service on site. if you have an issue with attractions being unavailable even though you paid extra for it, good luck! there are no managers on site available to help you out if you run into any issues. horrible experience. Reached out by email to their public number and phone with absolute no responses. They're very quick to to take your money and run with it though! It's funny the owners reaches out to individuals with positive reviews but don't bother responding to real reviews from individuals with a negative experience. Will not be recommending this place to any friends or family as ownership/management at Moody Gardens will blatantly cheat you out of money. Nothing short of theft in plain sight. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Fantastic experience: Moody Gardens is an absolute gem in Galveston! From the stunning glass pyramids to the interactive exhibits, there’s something here for everyone. The Rainforest Pyramid is like stepping into a tropical jungle—full of exotic plants, free-roaming birds, and fascinating wildlife. Negative experience: My experience at Moody Gardens Attractions and Theme Park was not the best. I had hoped to enjoy the visit with my girlfriend because we traveled from Houston to Galveston. We spent approximately $120 for tickets and that was with a discount. Here is a list of challenges with Moody Gardens Attractions and Theme Park. The aquarium stank and smelled as if there were dead fish throughout the area. The smell was nauseating. All the attractions were not available. The food was overpriced and lackluster. I do not recommend the chicken tenders and French fry combo. The tenders were a little hard to chew. Most, if not all, of the employees left by 4:30pm. The customer service was mediocre. Lastly, we were not able to watch the IMAX 4D film Octopus because the attendant did not play it. Thus, when my girlfriend and I voiced our concerns to the manager, Raul, he was nonchalant and unhelpful. He did not offer a refund or a credit. Therefore, we feel cheated out of our money and the experience left a bad impression on us. I do not recommend visiting here unless serious changes are made.

Fantastic experience: Visited Moody Gardens with our students ambassadors for an end of year trip. Going during the week (especially during school months) was a grand idea. We arrived early and our tickets were at will call (customer service). There's so much to do and see. I personally really enjoyed the rainforest. When it gets to the peak of Texas summer heat, I may have a different outlook. Some of the animals roam free, and thats what I enjoyed mostly. Check out the pictures and videos.

Positive experience: Fun experience for the whole family. The aquatic pyramid is much easier to navigate with children and has air conditioning, which is a huge plus. Despite the heat, I really enjoyed the rainforest pyramid. Unfortunately, our group was not able to make it to the discovery pyramid before it closed for the day. I recommend making sure that there are no extra events going on when you plan to visit. The Mustang week going on during our trip put a serious damper on our festivities. The event had most of the immediate parking blocked off, including large amounts of the handicap parking.

Positive experience: Moody Gardens is amazing, great place to bring children and spend hours learning! We did have a terrible experience with Brittany (sp?) in concessions. She was way rushed and I had 3 kids with me. She was extremely impatient with every question she asked and I was getting really nervous. At one point, I told her that I was really uncomfortable and asked her to please stop speaking to me that way. She got mad and said “she was being REALLY nice”. My husband mentioned she seemed really rushed and she got more upset. She continued speaking harshly saying there was a line (3 people in line, not a busy Thursday). We really only wanted to order a meal in peace and she made our experience quite uncomfortable. We came to keep the kids busy while my nephew is in surgery. Unsure if she game me the right name, on the left concession stand on Thursday 5/1 at half past noon. We wanted more food and just decided to end and pay to get away from her. When she impatiently asked what condiments she wanted, we were just done, and asked for a little bit of everything. You could see her impatience as she angrily threw bunches and bunches of condiments onto our tray, over our food. She should not be dealing with customers.

Fantastic experience: We decided to stay in Galveston for a few days after our cruise. I haven't been here since my children were 2 and 3 years old (almost 20 years!) Now that I'm older, I'm very much more appreciative of the beauty Galveston has to offer. My husband and I (newlyweds ) decided to check out as much as we could in the pyramids and were NOT disappointed! Young and old will be fascinated by the abundance of exotic plants, insects, and animals. Check out the 4D movies. We saw the Africa and Van Gough movies. It was extraordinary. Check out the Art of music to find your favorite music artists over the decades. A neat treat for music enthusiasts! We enjoyed the breeze in the butterfly exhibit and the gorgeous palms and flowers. Definitely coming back!

Fantastic experience: We took our nephews to the Breakfast with Santa event, and it was an absolute delight! From start to finish, the experience was magical and full of festive cheer. The servers and buffet staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, making everyone feel welcome and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Santa was a highlight of the morninghe was the best we’ve ever seen! Not only was he authentic, but he also took the time to chat with everyone, spreading holiday joy. The elves were equally wonderful, offering to help take photos and adding an extra special touch to the event. The kids couldn’t get enough of the whimsical décor, and the hot chocolate bar was an absolute hit. It was heartwarming to see them so excited and happy. We would highly recommend this event to anyone it’s a 100/10 experience for families looking to make unforgettable holiday memories!

Negative experience: As a non houston native Moody Gardens was mysterious to me. I knew it was an aquarium but I wasn’t sure if it was better or worse than the downtown houston aquarium; it’s better but in the same realm of aquarium. It felt like I visited Moody Gardens a decade too late as the Schlitterbahn was closed and the other water park closed as well. Buildings felt slightly delapidated and trapped in time. The aquarium was decent and penguins were a fun sight, but the main downside is the price of entry. $60 per person day of visit?! Now that’s quite absurd and a price i’d pay only once and never again. P.S. you can save $15 if you buy tickets online at least one day prior to entry but oh well.

Negative experience: It was a Saturday morning and my whole group went to moody garden. I didn’t know what to expect from this place but overall it’s very mid. The attraction aren’t soo amusing and worst of all the price is just too much to enjoy such an underwhelming experience. Lastly the food was the most mid thing ever i expected more flavorful food but it just tasted like my school lunch but at a more expensive price. Overall go if you want might be an ok date but in my opinion not worth the money.

Fantastic experience: This place was really cool to see. The aquarium was quiet and had a nice feel to it. I got to touch a stingray which was pretty cool I have to admit. The rainforest was also really cool. Very humid which is to be expected. Saw some really cool stuff and a weird looking monkey. The discovery pyramid was dissapointing though with only a few things. Im still giving the place 5 stars because people go there for the rainforest and aquarium.

Fantastic experience: We had a BLAST at Moody Gardens! We went on a Monday so it may have been slower, but there was plenty of parking available, including accessible parking. Entry was seamless with our tickets purchased in advance. The aquarium and rainforest are AMAZING to visit. We watched the 4D movie and it was a little disappointing, but still a 6/10. Food was a little pricey for what you were getting, but that's normal in a place like this, and it was pretty decent!

Fantastic experience: Moody Gardens was an incredible place to experience especially the indoor Rainforest. The atmosphere was amazing and definitely a "see for yourself" kind of experience.

Fantastic experience: Moody Gardens is perfect as always!! I go all the time for birthdays and celebrations, even with some animals missing from the exhibits, it never dampers the experience!

Negative experience: Booked our stay with high expectations. The room we booked was not the one we were given. Got one king bed instead of the 2 queens we ordered. Couch and extra bed that was brought to the room was very uncomfortable. Bath tub had its protective covering coming off of it and no hot water at 930 for a shower. Power went out and took 2 hrs to come back on. No one in our family got much sleep this night. The ladies at the front desk of course said none was the hotel’s fault. Way over priced for what they say the stay will be like. Really disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to visit! I was a little confused about what all was included with passes I bought online the night before but turns out they were all access and I paid less then I would have as a walk in, a quick walk to the visitors center cleared it up. We have been to many aquariums and this one so great as it had penguins and sea lions and seals. We loved the 3d movie theater and may have stayed to watch more movies but had other places to visit.

Fantastic experience: Hadn't been back in 25 years. The rainforest changed so much. Happy to be back with my child. The only complaint I have is the discovery center was underwhelming but the other two pyramids make up for it.

Positive experience: Great staff, very clean facilities, so much fun! We did the family pass which included 2 date passes for the attractions and a 1 night stay at the hotel. It was perfect. We weren't super excited about the discovery pyramid; we thought it was going to be more hands-on but it wasn't. The rest of it was great! Very worth it.

Fantastic experience: This place is a blast! My wife and I spent most of the day seeing the rainforest and aquarium pyramids. We had so much fun. Definitely recommend for families and couples.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful location. I had a great weekend out here, while seeing all the animals!

Fantastic experience: This place is great! The aquarium was fantastic. My teenage asked to go back, so today was actually our 2nd time going. The rainforest pyramid is humid and warm. They have little breaks built into the wall through. Fun exhibits and really nice employees.

Fantastic experience: We had a blast. These are just the few I have on my phone. We did the discovery pyramid and aquarium and music art show. Those pictures are on a different phone.

Fantastic experience: Best place in galveston for penguin lovers. We have gone to 6 penguin experiences and we learn something new at everyone. The keepers are friendly and knowledgeable and will answer all of your questions. The penguins are "cute and cuddly" Everyone should check it out. They also have other animal experiences if you are not into penguins.

Fantastic experience: Really nice resort style hotel. We loved that the outdoor pool was heated and already(still?) open. Kids had a blast. We’re staying with our boat in the Marina of the hotel, but are treated as regular guests otherwise. We haven’t checked all the attractions out yet, but there’s plenty to be done if you bring kids. One remark, the restrooms at the Marina could use some more regular cleaning and the men’s was locked closed, so men had to use the women’s. But otherwise a really naive place. They even have valet service to and from the Marina which is about a 10 min walk from the hotel. Not a problem for adults, but with luggage and kids it’s a nice perk.

Fantastic experience: Don’t go with any other option than the value pass, you get everything: Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramid, Discovery Museum, MG3D, 4D Special FX and Audience Recognition Theaters, and the Ropes Course and ZipLine. Also it’s cheaper if you buy it online the day before you go. Keep in mind you won’t be able to buy the discounted pass on the same day of the visit, which will cost you $20 more per ticket. The rainforest pyramid was my favorite, absolutely gorgeous and my daughter got a chance to get up close and person with some stunning birbs. There’s also a rope course with zipline. Really fun and safe for all ages, I even went up there with my kid and got to climb around, really fun stuff. We spend from sun up to sundown all day here the Moody and wasn’t bored once. Only complaint I can say is food is overpriced but I mean that’s the same everywhere.

Positive experience: Tried the rope course today and the kids enjoyed it ($30/per person). We were going to do the zip line as well (additional $20/person) but it was too windy when we started. Staff was nice and efficient. We arrived an hour after opening during spring break and on a Saturday, no line but an employee told me previously there can be long waits at times.

Positive experience: It is a wonderful place with a lot of family-friendly attractions. I suggest I suggest researching in advance. When I was there, I wasn't able to sign up for a feeding of the seals at the last minute. I also had issues with online purchases to get the 25% that was advertised, and the cashier in line couldn't honor it, stating that it was only an online deal. So don't be surprised if you have to pay full price even though one may have issues with the online sign up. However, it is worth one visit.

Fantastic experience: Visted on a Monday in March and it wasn't very busy at all. $250 family value pass was perfect for our family of 5 to do all the attractions. Only wish we had gotten there a little earlier to have beeen able to see all 3D shows and have more time on the ropes course. You could easily spend the entire day exploring with the all inclusive pass. I personally LOVED the rainforest and could have spent hours in there. All staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. Great experience.

Positive experience: Moody Gardens has three pyramids. We visited the Aquarium and the Rainforest. The Aquarium has several levels representing the Artic to the Caribbean. The penguin handlers were feeding the penguins and giving a presentation. The glass tunnel was our favorite area. The Rainforest also was sectioned in level. You enter at the Canopy and work your way down. Some birds and animals roam freely while other critters are viewed behind glass. Both areas are worth visiting.

Positive experience: This was the perfect place for my 1 yr old , 6 yr old , and 7 yr old we even brought out small yorkie with us who my kids hate to leave behind. Overall our stay was great ! Our first room the tv did not work but they gladly moved us to the room next door that room everything worked but the tub enamel had major missing paint and was just yucky looking we refrained from using . The shower definitely could have used some updating . The dog friendly rooms themselves were huge and located off the convention hall side no big deal . Room service one afternoon took a few attempts at calling but whatever the fact they offered late check out and I could pay was great for me although staff was coming by often asking if we had left yet glad I didn’t leave our dog alone during late check out times would of been a little awkward no one there to explain . Over all my kids loved the activities and everything to offer at all the pyramids and we really had a great time . I am the Mom who buys the giant penguin in the gift shop so take my review as a Mom who will pay for conveniences and usually managing my small gang alone . This was the perfect grounds to keep everyone entertained for two days .

Fantastic experience: A good place to spend a Saturday. Fascinating to see the Penguins at the Aquarium. The rainforest concept and setup was marvellous. The 3D movie was splendid. The 4D movie was too short. The sea facing butterfly park is planned very well. The music themed discovery museum bought back childhood memories.

Positive experience: Pyramids are a one-time visit type place. The quality of animals/fish exhibits vary. The rainforest pyramid is very underwhelming. But overall, a good but expensive couple of hours walk.

Fantastic experience: We visited on a rainy day during Mardi Gras and got the combo for both the aquarium and the rainforest. It was beyond what we expected. The aquarium was well maintained and had tons of little critters to observe. The jellyfish center was glorious, almost like an art exhibit, and we could've stayed all day watching the penguins and the seals and sea lions. But what really floored us was the rainforest area. There were bats, monkeys, tons of tropical birds, and some of the biggest fish I've ever seen. It was definitely worth the price and worth the time.

Fantastic experience: Stayed at the hotel for a church retreat. Room very attractive but not well maintained. Dirty baby diaper on the porch, lamp shade needed replacement, bathtub badly peeling, rust at bathroom door. Valet excellent service, check in excellent.

Negative experience: I came here for work at the moody gardens convention center. It’s very run down and kinda dangerous. I watched 4 people slip/trip inside the welcome center convention show. They slipped on the tile or got their shoe caught on the carpet of this place. My last day working here I slipped in the garage as I got out the car. The garage was very wet and pavement was dark in the morning. There were no signs outside. All in all the establishment is run down and not kept up with. The employees, show management, and staff are all very nice though. This 2 star review is strictly because its run down, I watched multiple people slip, and I slipped myself. 10/10 would not comeback voluntarily.

Fantastic experience: Our family only visited the Aquarium, and it was an excellent visit! The fish and animals were very active, the exhibits were well lit and clean. We enjoyed our visit! Don’t forget to check out the opportunity for free admission for your school aged kids. If you show their recent report card of As and Bs (within 30 days) at the membership services desk (in the visitor center) - they can enter one exhibit at no charge. Big savings! Details are on their website.

Positive experience: We had a good time at Moody Gardens. We went as a family with 10 adults and two toddlers. In February everything was easy to access and because we were there Mardi Gras weekend it was kind of like a ghost town so we felt like we had the place to ourselves…it was fantastic!

Fantastic experience: Great way to spend a day. We went specifically for the Body In Motion exhibit. We did get the passes to see everything. The gardens with all the birds, animals and fish was amazing. The aquarium was spectacular and they have touch tanks as well. I do recommend you check with them before going to see what all exhibits are open on the day you want to go. But highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: THE PENGUINS ARE SO CUTE liked it here, when we went there weren’t as many people which made it nice, bc there is so much to due and it is dispersed around. That said, it is expensive but I think worth it bc you get to see the movies, and three pyramids, and the boat (there was only one for us bc of weather and we missed it). The pyramids are small inside, but they use the space nicely and effectively to make it a great experience :)

Fantastic experience: Moody gardens is a varied entertainment campus for the whole family. We spent an entire day here and didn’t even get through all three pyramids. Our party included people aged 2 to 60 and everyone had a great time. First we went to the aquarium. Then we went to a 4D film which was just 15 minutes long and had better 4D effects than average. Third was the Colonel boat ride which was very fun. We thought about going to the garden restaurant, but at $25 per person we decided to leave the campus and find less expensive fare elsewhere. When we got back we went through the rainforest pyramid which was hot, humid, and full of cute monkeys and bats. We then climbed on the ropes course until it closed at 5:00. Unfortunately, there was some wind so the zip-line was closed. We will definitely come back someday.

Fantastic experience: We visited moody gardens while visiting galveston and were absolutely blown away by how cool this place is! We did all 3 pyramids with 6 kids ranging in age from 2 to 14 and everyone had a great experience. We came during their holiday addition with Iceland and ice skating and were able to ride the Colonel boat. Definitely recommend trying this place, I suggest buying the all day passes to get the best deal.

Negative experience: Not enough lights, not enough restrooms, $22 per person way too much money in my true opinion $5 per person should be good. I'm from Houston in Riveroaks they have plenty of lights it's way better, you can take you're family and enjoy walking or driving and this place it's free of charge. You pay nada. No I do do not recommend Moody gardens.

Positive experience: Two seniors one one adult cost around $230 for an All Day pass. Unfortunately, it was raining, so we didn't enjoy the outdoors nor the paddle boat. Truthful, Moody Garden is it an overpriced attraction. The pyramids are fairly small. I heard the day after our visit, the garden pyramid had removed some birds due a bird flu warning nearby .

Fantastic experience: Moody Gardens is an absolute gem that offers something for family visits, and we have had their annual membership for the last three years! From the stunning aquarium to the enchanting holiday lights and the unique seasonal Iceland show, it’s a destination worth experiencing. The aquarium was breathtaking! The exhibits are thoughtfully designed, providing close-up views of diverse marine life. From playful penguins to vibrant coral reefs, every corner of the aquarium had something fascinating to marvel at. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to answer questions and share interesting animal facts. One of my kids' favorite activities there is to touch the stingray, it is so fun and best way to learn about them. The holiday lights transformed the gardens into a whimsical wonderland as night fell during year-end holiday day months. The display was beautifully curated, with sparkling installations and creative designs that delighted kids and adults alike. Walking through the illuminated paths felt magical and festive—perfect for getting into the holiday spirit! Also quite amazing is the seasonal Iceland show. It’s incredible to see how talented ice sculptors bring icy masterpieces to life. The level of detail in the sculptures is awe-inspiring, and the chilly environment adds an authentic touch to the experience. Make sure to bundle up even though they do provide parka before entering, as it can get quite cold inside! Moody Gardens combines fun, education, and seasonal charm seamlessly. Whether you're visiting the aquarium, the lights, or the Iceland exhibit, you’re guaranteed to have a memorable time. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking for fun.

Positive experience: I expected a lot when seeing entrance, but it took less than one hour to see all the places inside aquarium, place is clean. Restrooms are good. Can get food at food court, no foods and drinks allowed inside aquarium. Good place to see with kids. Gift shops are too costly even for a small doll. Another thing is price is bit high, its around $40 for adult. Other than that everything is good. Adding Moody gardens Christmas lightings

Fantastic experience: I can only speak on the Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet that they do and it's amazing, quite possibly the greatest spread I've ever seen at a buffet of any culinary caliber anywhere. I'd recommend this to anyone!

Stacy Mickell 9 months ago

Positive experience: Visited Ice Land and it was lots of fun. Admissions pricing was fair. Don't forget gloves and a beanie! The loss of a star was due to the drink system. It's 1 or 12 or 2 for 20, but they can only be used at the bar. It's too cold to stand there and have two drinks so you end up getting one and the tokens can't be used on hot chocolate.

Fantastic experience: We visited rain forest it was good experience. Will recommend for one time might not go again I found it little bit pricy but may be season pass or day pass will be better option instead of buying single attraction ticket.

Fantastic experience: Moody Gardens is an awesome place for a family trip! Our kids love all 3 pyramids, especially the Aquarium pyramid. The combo ticket packages are a good price for access to destinations/attractions on site. Be sure to make the trip down during the holidays for the ice sculptures & Christmas lights trail!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I loved every minute of it! We went to all three pyramids. They did have a hiccup with the electricity in the aquarium because it was storming outside. Generators came on to light everything up for the people… but we couldn’t see most areas. We weren’t allowed to pet the sting rays & that’s one of the main reasons we went. As soon as we exited (50min later) all the lights powered back on. We asked if we could go back in to pet the sting rays & why (even showing our tickets, though she looked at us when we exited)… she said no. We didn’t let that bring us down, we just went on about our day.

John Maese 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: We did not visit the gardens specifically, we were there for a taekwondo tournament. However the hotel was very clean, the breakfast was awesome, so that's always a good thing. I would say that if you are planning on going, I would probably buy tickets in advance to avoid any unnecessary waits.
