🗣️ Adventure Aquarium: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Super cool aquarium. Exhibits that you won't find at most aquariums like a shark tunnel, a hippo exhibit, and penguins! ABSOLUTELY go to the diver show, there is a giant sea turtle that will kill you with laughs. 10000% check this place out when in the area
Fantastic experience: Best aquarium I’ve ever been to. Visited with my husband and 1 year old. They have so many exhibits. Loved the shark tunnel. My 1 year old had so much fun
Positive experience: Nice aquarium with great customer service reps via the phone. Staff on-site are wonderful as well and know the place like the back of their hands. The layout is very interesting, and it will keep you busy for a day. The theater shows run throughout the day, so use it as the child's nap time schedule; who knows if you'll take a nap also . The exhibits were nice, and the animals are cared for very well. Eat something before going in because the food is a bit pricey. But you can also bring your own food and beverages; there are many places to sit and eat, especially on the deck to view the Philly skyline and docks. It was my first time to this aquarium, and my 2 year old granddaughter's first ever aquarium. It was a great experience for us all. Visited on Friday 11AM-3:30 PM after Juneteenth 2025 holiday.
Fantastic experience: Came here today with my mom, sister and 2 friends. We had such an amazing time here. This place has some of the coolest aquatic life I have seen in a while. Been forever since I have been to an aquarium like at least 10 years or so. I had such a blast and so did our friends. Sharks tunnel was really fun to walk through and the hippos were neat. The penguins were just so damn adorable as well. Jellyfish r fun to look at especially when they can’t sting u. They also have a shark bridge u can walk overtop of the shark tank which was fun. The food here is in no shortage . We didn’t eat lunch here but they have a cafeteria I didn’t expect that. Now keep in mind school groups come here often and it did get busy but we still had a fun time. We will definitely be coming back again!
Positive experience: Less than 45 dollars a ticket. A very pleasant time with th children. I wouldn't recommend this for families with teenagers, it's geared towards young children. Oh and the parking is still 10 dollars. You need a credit/debit if pay at the lot.but you can pay cash inside
Fantastic experience: My son loved our visit here came on a weekend not long before close so it wasn’t as crowded. There was a lot to see much of which we didn’t but we loved the touch and see pool and the large shark tanks.
Positive experience: Great fun, enough attractions and activities for fun and enjoyable afternoon with the kids.
Positive experience: A bit underwhelming considering how much they charge for tickets (around $50). The star attraction is probably the hippos, but it only takes less than 5 minutes to see them. They claim to have the longest shark tunnel in the world, but it’s not that long and there were only around 3 or 4 sharks. They have some penguins outside and a few “touch” exhibits. Overall it’s an average aquarium.
Fantastic experience: Such a wonderful experience! The exhibits were so immersive and you’re able to touch some of the sea creatures like sting rays and starfish. The staff is also extremely friendly and there are so many activities to do. The prices aren’t too shabby either. 10/10!
Positive experience: It’s a decent aquarium but didn’t really find it to be anything special. I’ve been to a fair number of aquariums and this was just ok. It was super crowded, loud, and over stimulating at 2pm on a Saturday. Also too expensive - not worth the value. They do have the most spectacular hippo tank I have ever seen. I enjoyed the penguins and my kids loved the shark/stingray touch tanks- those were pretty unique. Probably won’t return.
Negative experience: Aquarium is great but they do falls advertisement. We’ve been there 06/12/25 we saw a member for $20 we asked and she said yeah if you purchase online just call them and they take care of it. When we call the price they gave us is $47.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time with my family, perfect place to spend the day especially with kids. The aquarium was clean and well kept with a lot of interactive stations and food stalls inside. Some of the areas I wanted to see were closed for renovations so hoping to come again another time!
Fantastic experience: Great aquarium! Lots of fun for all and good activities for the kiddoes!!
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for an excellent time for you and your kids - this is the spot for you. We ended up buying a membership so that we could continue the fun! My toddler absolutely LOVED the hippos and the sharks. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. We also loved the dive show!
Fantastic experience: Amazing place! The aquariums are huge and clean, with no fishy smell, and the staff does an excellent job. We watched sharks, giant jellyfish, divers, piranhas, other fascinating fish, and live seaweed, and even got to touch stingrays. We visited on a weekend, so of course, it was very crowded. I recommend visiting the aquarium on a weekday. We also bought our tickets online in advance with a discount, so we didn’t have to wait in line at the ticket counter near the aquarium.
Fantastic experience: What an incredible experience at the Aquarium ! I was so impressed by the diverse collection of aquatic species and the thoughtfully curated exhibits. It's clear a lot of care goes into creating an engaging and educational environment. A truly inspiring place to connect with the underwater world. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: This place is very nice. Hit the snack bar immediately upon entering. Very good but slightly overpriced as expected in any place like this. We spent all day there and our 11 yr old son had an amazing time. He loved the hippos ( yes they do have hippos in one of the first exhibits swimming) the shark bridge( a rope bridge over the shark tank) and the penguins. Very nice place to have a great family day out.
Positive experience: Under renovation. Very minimal things to do inside. Pricey food, didn’t taste good. Coffee helped.
Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved this Aquarium..it's clean, very organized. We went on a week day and it was full of school classes very cute. I could only imagine how crowded it must get during the weekend. Food was good too, I just didn't like the bathroom location. It's only on the first floor bynthe entrance. So if you are in the middle of the shark area and your kid wants to go, you better runnnnn because its far. Other than that, It's Beautiful and your kids will LOVE IT.
Positive experience: The sharks were the best by far! There was a cool shark tunnel you could walk through and see the sharks swim above, and a net you could walk on that was over the shark tank. Probably the most interactive aquarium I've gone to yet. My only disappointment was that there was a section closed off for renovations, so it felt like I almost didn't get my money's worth. That just means we have to come back when it's done.
Fantastic experience: Went on a school field trip and loved it! The students had a fabulous time.
Positive experience: Attached pics and videos will show the beauty of the place. Hundreds of variety of sea creatures are available here. They have silky Sharks, green sea turtles, jellyfish, cowfish, lionfish, spiny Lobster , alligator, penguins, Snake , flat tortoise , hippos, multiple varieties of fishes (red , blue, yellow, multi color, silver etc.) Lot of things to learn. They have lot of photo booths. They also have theater in which they tell lot of things about aquatic creatures. They also have sharks bridge best part of this aquarium where in glass you will see multiple fishes and can take pictures with them. They also have shark bridge where you can walk above shark tank in net bridge. Parking is charged at $10 per car (May 2025) Place is good but over priced. Thanks
Fantastic experience: Clean and great customer service! Educational for all senses and some hands-on activities! Even has a little play area for toddlers near the penguins! The gift shop and food can be pricey, though. Shark tunnel and shark bridge are awesome! You can get your kid's face painted or get a drawing done of yourself in cartoon character. It can get seriously crowded! Advance tickets are recommended! The parking fee is not included with admission. They have events as well as any additional rides and/or festivities which are all additional fees. If your going, make sure to come with extra money if you want to do anything or get anything extra.
Positive experience: Not all of the animals were in the exhibits that they said they were but the food was okay. It tasted somewhat good, wasn't awful but it wasn't like something I would typically go out and just buy. So it was like a carnival type food thing. But overall the experience goes good I had done the review but we've tried their famous fries and I dropped me down to three stores. Honestly, it's not the best aquarium ever. Even Baltimore is better. So if you're looking for an aquarium honestly this place is nice but not for the money that they charge
Fantastic experience: The place is not very big but it’s clean and the staffs are very friendly. Food is ok. Not the best but good. My sons love it! Bigger kids will probably get bored fast but my 1 yr old and 3 almost 4 yrs old are having a blast!
Fantastic experience: Went with my wife, in-laws and my parents and had a blast. From interectuve experiences and very friendly staff and environment overall a fantastic place. And if you go with people like in the case of my mom who cant do stairs or walks slower than the rest, it is very friendly to all with elevators that can take you to each levek of the aquarium.
Positive experience: Good experience. Park was open but reasonable at $10, very close. Touch tanks were great. Active sharks and sting rays so we saw and pet. Fun to feed the sting rays. Not that large, takes about 2hrs, little more if you see the movie (that’s about 30mins). You can save on food, outside food and drinks are allowed. Shark bridge is great
Positive experience: I love the aquarium! It’s a great spot to take the kids. I would caution that they are currently undergoing renovations on the top floor, meaning if your kids want to see frogs or the ever popular axolotl they’re going to be disappointed. Also, they raised the price of the tickets without clear notice of that work being done(not cool). Hence the removal of the stars.
Fantastic experience: The staff is amazing there. The day I came it was a little chaotic but the staff was very professional. I went last Friday. There was a black girl in the checkout in the food line near the entrance she was very funny. I wish I got her name she was by the soda machine where you check out for pizza and chicken fingers. Give her a raise! The other camera guy lavon. He's knows how to navigate. I think the place needs a little renovating and expansion.it will definitely help bring more people.
Positive experience: Went on a Thursday. May 15th to be exact. My Daughters 16th birthday. Had a ok day. Very over stimulating from the bus loads of school kids. But a good time. No mention of renovations to exhibits on the web site or at the ticket window..do better than that or at best knock a % off due to now having those exhibits available
Positive experience: My kids had a wonderful time, it was a little pricey per person even with the buy 1 adult tickets, get 1 kids admission free
Fantastic experience: Always a good time here. I love the personal interactions staff gave my infant son especially when at the porthole looking into the big tank!
Fantastic experience: Adventure Aquarium was a total hit with our family! My kids’ absolute favorite part was walking over the shark tank—yes, over! It’s not a clear walkway like you might expect. It’s actually a rope bridge with netting, so you’re literally walking over a net suspended above the sharks. Totally safe, but it feels adventurous and just daring enough to make the kids feel like brave little explorers. Petting the stingrays was another big win—they could’ve stayed there all day. Now, full honesty: it was soooo busy. Great for the aquarium, slightly overwhelming for a parent with two toddlers determined to go in opposite directions. But good news—it’s stroller-friendly (thank goodness), super clean, and you can bring your own food, which is a huge perk when your kids have strong opinions about snacks. One helpful tip: definitely buy your tickets online instead of at the gate. If you scroll down on the main page, we found a deal where you buy an adult ticket and get a child ticket free—super handy and nice to save a bit! All in all, it was chaotic in the best way. The kids were thrilled, no one fell in, and we’ll definitely be back!
Positive experience: I am giving this place three stars because it does not feel like you get back the amount of money that you put into it to go in. I paid $128 for two people and while the attractions were fun we got through it and basically an hour which means it was very costly for just 1 hour of things to do. The shark bridge is cool but it really feels like they're trying to get you to get the membership to come back, which is a little sad because not everyone that goes is a local.
Positive experience: It's a cute place to walk through and admire the beautiful marine animals.. be warned, the children's section is under construction, so there are limited areas where younger kids can touch things. My kids are a little older now, but the children's section was my favorite when they were younger and I was looking forward to taking them there again.. the signs said it should be open again this summer.
Positive experience: Amazing place. Check it out if you can. We went on a Thursday and it was packed though. It was hard to get to see everything.
Fantastic experience: I had a great time at Adventure Aquarium! The exhibits were fascinating and well-maintained. My favorite parts were the shark tunnel and the hippos — such a unique experience! It’s a fun and educational place for kids and adults alike. The staff were friendly, and everything felt clean and organized. I would definitely recommend visiting
Fantastic experience: I've been to Adventure Aquarium a couple of times, and I'm currently planning another trip! For Northeast PA, we have a few options within four hours of us. Of those options, the one that has brought my family and friends the most joy has been Adventure Aquarium. Baltimore used to be a bit better, but post 2020, it has been downhill. Yes, it is bigger, has more floors, has dolphins, sloths, etc. It also has crowds that make it impossible to go to the exhibits and actually learn anything. Adventure Aquarium is not a super big aquarium, but it far makes up for it with a friendly environment, animal education, and experiences. What a neat story to tell others about how you walked over a tank of sharks on a rope bridge!
Fantastic experience: We decided to buy a membership since ilour 2 year olds love it. I am not sure it would be worth it without a membership. Since our kids love it, and we have a membership, we go often. Always hippos first... don't ask me why. That is the way the princesses go.
Fantastic experience: We came to the aquarium early Friday morning it was beneficial for us to do some due to the school field trip. This gave us the opportunity to experience some of the attractions more in-depth without screaming kids or chaos. Kids are not bad, but if you are older and you want to enjoy the aquarium this is my recommendation. Side note, buy the CityPASS in advance,, it is a great deal for what you get.
Positive experience: My grandson enjoyed but I thought it was kinda boring. I didn't see a lot of the animals , they say their in there just in hiding , yeah right lol . Boring Go somewhere exciting! Expensive for no reason...
Fantastic experience: Wonderful place with so much to see and great staff! Adventure Aquarium is one of my family’s favorite places. We always love the hippo feedings, the shark tunnel, feeding the stingrays, and watching the giant turtles from several viewing points. An incredible staff member named Danielle helped make our most recent visit extra special. She took the time to help my daughter who has special needs overcome her fear of feeding the two largest stingrays. She always loves feeding g the smaller ones and was so excited to be able to feel confident feeding the big ones now! We really appreciated Danielle going the extra mile for us!
Fantastic experience: Adventure Aquarium (Camden, NJ): Touch a Shark, Feed a Stingray, and Keep Your Sanity Intact Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ is one of our favorite day trips from Harrisburg—just over 2 hours away, but packed with enough sensory-friendly, hands-on, kid-approved wonder to make every minute of the drive worth it. It's got all the aquatic awe of a major attraction, minus the chaos that usually sends parents spiraling into snack-fueled survival mode. What Makes It Worth the Drive? Shark Bridge: A rope bridge over the shark tank. Yes, really. Our 6-year-old crossed it, declared himself braver than Dad, and frankly… he’s not wrong. The Only Aquarium in the U.S. with Hippos: These 3,000-pound comedians might be the real stars of the show. Touch Tanks: Stingrays, starfish, tiny sharks—pet them all. The staff encourages it. Playful Penguins & Bubble Dance Parties: We may or may not have joined the penguin rave. Seahorses That Apparently Perform Just for Toddlers: “They’re dancing for MEEE!” said our 3-year-old, and honestly, it looked like they were. Tunnel Tank: Our baby stared in awe while sharks and turtles swam overhead like an aquatic dream sequence. Why It Works for Families (Especially Ours): Adventure Aquarium is one of the few places we’ve visited with five kids (ranging from baby to tween) where no one melted down—including the adults. It’s wide, stroller-friendly, and includes actual benches placed there for parents to sit down on purpose. There’s a rhythm to the layout: big wow moments followed by quiet, exploratory spaces where kids can breathe, touch, and move. Sensory-Friendly Design Done Right: Strollers are welcome. The hallways are wide. There are ramps that make sense. Sensory backpacks, nursing pods, and staff trained in neurodivergence awareness? Check, check, and hallelujah. Even when our crew got loud, curious, and a little pirate-y, the staff met us with patience and kindness. Food, Parking, and Mom Math: There’s a big lot right next door (with re-entry allowed), but we usually eat at the on-site café to avoid dragging our hangry circus across the lot mid-day. The food is decent, the process is easy, and not having to repack the baby carrier gets bonus points. Final Verdict: Adventure Aquarium somehow manages to be thrilling without being overstimulating, and educational without being boring. It’s accessible, inclusive, and magical in all the right ways. If you’ve got shark lovers, hippo fans, or kids who need a little space to do things their way, this aquarium gets it. Go. Feed the stingrays. Conquer the shark bridge. Let your toddler fall in love with a seahorse. And know you’ll make it back to Harrisburg before bedtime—with happy, tired kids and your sanity still (mostly) intact.
Positive experience: Parts of the aquarium were under construction but you don’t find out until you get there, which is annoying when you drive 1.5 hours+. In general this aquarium is fine but also the only part really worth going to is zone D which is sharks and hippos and everything else seemed super underwhelming.
Fantastic experience: I visited with my 2.5-year-old and we both loved it! There’s so much to do. such great value for a fun and educational experience!
Fantastic experience: It was wonderful we enjoyed ourselves , and got to see every attraction...bubble blast was a hit for my grandson Carter, went home with some great pictures and souvenirs.
Fantastic experience: AQUARIUM OVERNIGHT - We did the overnight adventure with our cub scouts, what an awesome experience! Arrive around 630pm and leave at 9am the next day. Snack and breakfast were included. The kids had a blast exploring the aquarium without the crowds. The schedule stopped at all of the major areas with a private tour guide and also took us behind the scenes to the top of the tanks. Then we got to sleep in-between the fish tanks overnight. Start to finish an absolutely excellent experience, I definitely recommend it!
Fantastic experience: Very cool place for both adults and kids. So much to see. Sharks, penguins, sea turtles, and more. There are sting rays you can even pet! Food court inside of you get hungry and a coffee stand. Well kept place that is clean and accessible. There are elevators for those who need them.
Fantastic experience: Adventure Aquarium offers an exciting underwater experience with a diverse range of marine life, including sharks, stingrays, and hippos. The hands-on exhibits and shark tunnel make it a hit for both kids and adults.
Positive experience: I'm not sure what's happening, but I feel as though for the prices of these tickets, the aquarium doesn't offer much. The little kids had fun like anyplace they can be easily amused, but for my bigger kids and adults, we can see how it isn't a must go aquarium. We went during the bubble party, which was so quick. They did it every 30 minutes, but it was quick. They were under construction in some parts, which I feel should offer discounted prices if part of the aquarium is not accessible. They also had a bubble show, and the worker poor guy didn't do well and was unorganized. Whatever he tried to do didn't work out and just a waste of time and soap, lol. They can do better honestly make it fun. There are lots of spaces that can be used to learn about sea animals. Have more workers out in different parts actually engaging with people and teaching about the animals besides the the touching sections. Also have more handwashing areas all around not just sanitizer here and there. They had picture set ups that you can tell they threw together but put no effort. The outside play section was cool. This is just an opinion, I wouldn't visit there again mind you it's been a year or two since my last visit. I heard about one in Maryland going to try that one even though it's 2 hours away I heard it worth it and the prices are not too far off but children under 4 are free unlike this aquarium.
Fantastic experience: We really enjoyed the exhibits, especially the interactive ones. We went with our toddler (almost 3), so there were some things she couldn't reach. But overall, we had a great time. The best part is the shark tunnel! The hippos were sleeping when we were there, so that was a little disappointing. Parking is available for $10, which is not bad. You get a great view of the river as you walk to the entrance. You can also take the ferry across the river. You can bring your own food and drink with you, but they also have a cafe and a couple food stands inside. The gift shop is nice as well.
Fantastic experience: Nice experience with kids. There are two touching exhibits of sharks and stingrays that we love. The aquarium is not that big so we spent about planning 2.5 hours there without rushing.
Positive experience: Hippos and shark tunnel and shark bridge are likely the unique aquarium exhibits. Schedule of events online was handy to plan our path but we seemed to get through everything quickly (2 hours). Surrounding Camden is sketchy but plenty of food options onsite.
Positive experience: Aquarium was fun and exciting. Only 4 stars due to over priced cold food. Recommend packing a lunch.
Fantastic experience: Great aquarium, also the battleship is conveniently located around 12 min walk from the aquarium so perfect for a day trip.
Positive experience: Buy tickets in advance! We didn’t and ended up waiting an hour. Was cool but over crowded. Love all the animals they have!
Fantastic experience: Place was very well kept Hippos were cool Would recommend the penguin exhibit There were plastic bags in the jellyfish enclosure Only negative thing was one of the Staff was very rude to my son. Everything else made up tho 5 stars
Positive experience: Great place unfortunately situated in the land of the Walking Drugged! Gotta love Camden. It's literally the nicest part of Camden as well so it's not so bad. Parking isn't bad either $10 on a weekday. I've brought my kids here many times and each time is just as interesting with cool experiences. We loved the shark tunnel and walk-over rope bridge. The touch tanks were a good time as well. The stars of the show were the penguins and the two very large hippopotamus' in a giant tank with both water and land. Food and drinks were overpriced but they were at least reasonable and had a lot of healthier choices which I appreciated. The gift shop is really overpriced but aren't they all? The good thing is you know your money is going to a great cause to help maintain the tanks and needs of the animals and possibly future animals. All in all it was well worth the 5 hours we spent on our last visit a week ago for my son's school trip.
Fantastic experience: Very nice place to visit. We saw fish, birds, a sloth, etc.. Very fun place to visit and even touch jellyfish too.
Fantastic experience: A great experience, a bit too small to the places I went to before but the experience is definitely much better. A highly recommended place to go with families.
Fantastic experience: We had not been there in 15 years and the facility, parking, and surroundings have been vastly improved. All very modern and clean. The light rail train runs past the parking lot. Rutgers U is a big presence in the neighborhood. The aquarium itself is good. We enjoyed watching the hippos being fed, penguins, touch tank, etc. There was a nicely done 3D movie in the theater at no extra charge.
Fantastic experience: Adventure Aquarium is one of the best aquariums in the USA! It’s a great place to spend 4–5 hours with your family and kids. Booking tickets online is recommended for a smoother experience. There's ample paid parking available at $10 for the entire day. Note that there's no free Wi-Fi on-site. Be sure not to miss the sharks and hippopotamus exhibits — they’re a highlight! It's a good idea to catch the 3D shows early, as they tend to get quite crowded later in the day. The on-site canteen offers a wide variety of food options. Overall, we had a great time and were very happy with the friendly staff and quality service.
Fantastic experience: Our daughter first time at the aquarium and it was really fun! I really look forward to coming back again soon!
Fantastic experience: Adventure Aquarium was a blast! My kids loved the shark tunnel and the penguins the most, but the touch tank was also a big hit!
Positive experience: Its a decent sized aquarium that will probably take approximately 1 hr to walk around. Like other reviews, theres lots of kids running around and hogging the glass displays. It can get tricky getting a good view of the animals in certain exhibitions. Theres a few hands on experience and a bridge walk towards the exit on the second floor. Nothing too fancy but worth a visit on the weekdays if you like aquariums.
Fantastic experience: Always a good time at the aquarium when you need to feel young at heart again. We went on a Tuesday, although there were a lot more people there than expected (school trip, most likely) it really wasn’t too overcrowded. We looked at this big puffer fish for so long b/c neither one of us knew they got that large! And my favorite part is always the stingrays.
Fantastic experience: Me and my family LOVE going to the aquarium on a rainy spring day. All the attractions are beautiful, the facilities are spotless, and the customer service is always friendly and accommodating. This time all the penguins were outside which was very cute
Fantastic experience: Absolutely live this aquarium !!! Bought the platinum membership and get to go all year! Hint ... get the chicken finger kids meal if you eat there. Comes with 2 chicken fingers and fries plus a bottle of water for like $11.99. Cheaper then the adult basket which only gives you 1 more chicken finger and no drink.
Fantastic experience: Been here once with our children and now once with children. Definitely better with children, haha. It's a really good time. Also got the prepaid meal vouchers which was nice and saved some money.
Positive experience: Nice aquarium to visit with the kids. Food court prices were also reasonable considering its at a tourist attraction.
Fantastic experience: One of the best aquarium, I been to, love this family friendly staff are friendly. There's some animal that you could touch , they have penguin shows and other shows , there's a movie theater that you could know about whales . I'm an animal lover . And one of my favorite places
Negative experience: If you’re looking for a penguin encounter, go to the Baltimore zoo. I paid over 200 dollars for two of us to have a penguin encounter and it was such a ripoff. You couldn’t feed them, you can’t touch them and you can’t even take photos. I took one quick snap of them doing something funny while the photographer was busy chatting with someone and the female staff member behind me SCREAMED at me to delete the photo. She wouldn’t let us leave unless we deleted it. Then I found out why because they charged us 40 dollars extra just for DIGITAL prints of the lame photos they took. At the Baltimore zoo you can pet them, you can feed them AND you can take all the photos you want. So yeah, we won’t be coming back here. At least the fairy penguins made it slightly worthwhile, especially since we were actually allowed to take photos of the penguins inside the enclosure. That’s the only reason they’re getting a second Star. PS: here’s the photo they made me delete. I undeleted it coz fk that rude lady.
Fantastic experience: Nice place to visit with the whole family. Clean and not that crowded. Buy your tickets ahead of time, so you don't have to fall in line.
Positive experience: It was fine. They had a lot of sections closed like the penguin and touch exhibits, so that kind of took some fun out of it. I really think they should let you know that on the website. Only one small area with penguins. I know they say this one is better than Baltimore, but not from my experience. The kids had fun regardless.
Fantastic experience: Very cool aquarium! We booked the penguin pop-in experience and it was amazing! We got to see 3 penguins up close and got photos with them. We saw Hippos, stingrays, sharks, turtles, etc. It was a wonderful experience! The facilities were clean and not too crowded while we were there (went through the week, first thing when they opened). It was getting busier around 11 when we left so I'd suggest going early. I love the penguin island exhibit, it feels a lot more up close and personal than our zoo back in Indiana.
Positive experience: Very fun place. The only thing is I wish there were more screens showing the event times. The schedule website was down so it was a bit of a crapshoot. Other than that and the reptile area being shut down, it was a great time.
Fantastic experience: Oh a whim, I decided to get tickets to for my family for the weekend. I am so glad i did! We booked the tickets online and had a great experience! From the Shark tunnel that is glass and completely clear to the hippo area, it was spectacular! My daughters loved it and we had an amazing Saturday afternoon. Buy the tickles online to avoid lines and save money. The parking lot is 10 dollars, if you have a membership the parking goes down to 5 dollars. Thanks Adventure Aquarium
Fantastic experience: Had a really fun time with my family when I visited here, the exhibits are beautiful and the gift shop is separated by section of ocean animal which is nice too. It was very busy and crowded though. One small improvement I’d recommend is adding signage that states that if you purchased tickets 3rd party, they have to be registered before you can get in line. We waited in line thinking our ticket was our reservation only to be turned away and the next entry wasn’t for almost 2 hours later. Te only signage by the lines was “purchase tickets here” which we already did online.
Fantastic experience: Kids had a blast. Lots to do. Was there for roughly 3hrs. Sharks, Hippos, Stingrays big variety.
Fantastic experience: This aquarium is fantastic! It has great attractions, is easy to walk through, and is perfect for babies, toddlers, and young children. We spent the morning exploring and were able to see everything without long lines or heavy crowds. The pricing is fair, making it a great family-friendly outing. Highly recommend!
Positive experience: They have some beautiful animals. It does get extremely crowded, so if you have a problem with crowds, I would only go on a week day.
Fantastic experience: Both of my kids love everything that has to do with animals and water. So why not an Aquarium on this beautiful day we had today. Not sure if the price was worth it, for 2 adults and 1 child it was $150. My second is 2 years old so she's free. We didn't eat there. But the kids loved it, definitely a must go.
Fantastic experience: Get there early!! We had a fantastic time and it’s very kid friendly there is so much to do and see. It’s also lovely that it is on the water front next to battleship plenty to see and do! Will definitely be returning
Positive experience: We visited on a Sunday during the mermaid experience. We had a reserved time for 1230 pm. Parking was annoying. We waited for 15 minutes in traffic as we circled the different parking lots only to have them close the last one off one car ahead of us. We ended up in a parking garage that cost $12 instead of 10. Not a huge deal but it can be an issue if you're running late. The exhibits were all open and fun to visit. Overall the aquarium was very clean. It was very crowded with only narrow pathways to get through. You could see the frustration on the parents faces that had double-wide strollers. We did not eat here as the lines for food were long but on previous visits we had eaten there and the food was very good.
Negative experience: Overpriced, lame aquarium with too many loud children. First of all, the tickets and everything inside is way too expensive. $100 for two people to go on a Saturday is crazy. We had to park in the parking garage which was $12 since the main lot was full. We waited in line for the parking lot for over 10 mins just to be told to go to the garage, wasting at least 30 mins just getting inside. Aquariums always have so many kids but this place was very extreme with the amount of strollers and screaming children. The habitats were rather lame. The fish seemed ok but the hippos, penguins, and other birds are in small enclosures with very little enrichment and never go outside. Don’t spend any money inside, just the lame pictures they take of you are $50 at the kiosk. Definitely worth it to drive down to the Baltimore aquarium. The families and crowds were the main negative but overall it’s a sad place. I will not be returning.
Fantastic experience: My granddaughter enjoyed her visit. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The mermaids were super nice with all the kids. They made the feel like they were the only kid in the room. I don't know how they do it, but they gave every kids an individual experience. We went early so there wasn't a big crowd. It did pick up as we were leaving.
Positive experience: Fun for kids & adults. $10 parking. Alot of closed exhibits
Fantastic experience: Visited during the Animal Crossing event and enjoyed the experience thoroughly. It was a weekend and relatively busy, but it didn't feel overcrowded.
Fantastic experience: Great place with 4 zones of fun and learning experience, from rainforest, ocean to wildlife, the Adventure Aquarium has it all. Only takes around 5 minutes from parking lot to aquarium.
Fantastic experience: Great place with lots of interacting activities. You can touch sharks, starfish, stingray, horseshoe crab. The hippos are huge and keeps coming to the glass. The fish and snakes parts are also very large. You can walk over and under sharks using the shark bridge and tunnel. Overall worth, you can use the city pass to save money.
Fantastic experience: Hands on fun while also being educational. We loved the penguins and hippos the best. Love how close you can be to the animals! There was also alot of varieties of species and blurbs near exhibit with interesting facts. Touch tanks for sharks and stingrays too
Fantastic experience: This is a beautiful aquarium. They currently have a mermaid show which my toddler enjoyed! My only recommendation is to go on a weekday when it's less busy. I went on a Sunday and the crowd was overwhelming despite the prior reservations made. It gets very busy. There is so many cool exhibits including the shark tunnel, touch a shark, and underwater mermaid. They also had face painting and caricature for an extra cost.
Fantastic experience: Loved my visit to the Adventure Aquarium. The tanks and aquatic life are diverse. Of course, I was a huge fan of sitting and watching the sharks. I highly recommend just taking some time there to be present. I didn't leave feeling disappointed. They have 2 tanks for touching at least sharks and string rays while I was there. It was thrilling and educational even as an adult to do so. The jellyfish are memorizing. It was cold when I went but I imagine it'd be lovely to have lunch outside with the water and city sky line so close to the venue.
Fantastic experience: I've had the pleasure of visiting this aquarium twice, and it’s absolutely a must-visit spot for families, especially those with kids. The aquarium is impressively spacious and filled with an incredible variety of sea life. Walking across the shark bridge was thrilling, and the shark tunnel is simply breathtaking. The interactive stingray touch experience was an unforgettable highlight! The mermaid show was enchanting—kids are bound to adore it. While I loved exploring with my baby, I did feel a bit of guilt seeing the penguins lined up, waiting for their turn to be fed by staff. It’s a bittersweet reminder of nature’s creations relying on humans. That said, the sea life here appears well-cared-for and healthy. The aquarium is exceptionally well-maintained, with friendly staff ensuring a great experience. The restrooms were spotless, and the restaurant offers quick bites for when hunger strikes. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to visit and a perfect outing for families with kids!
Negative experience: Let’s see it takes you over a half an hour to park, it’s super expensive, I only met one employee and that was on the way to the mermaid experience and she was very Pleasant other than that there is not one employee walking around any of the hallways any of the exhibits, God forbid somebody got hurt or tried to rob you or started a fight there is not an employee anywhere. The place is a mess, the bathrooms are filthy and there’s no employees to direct people to follow the rules or to go the right way it was a very hectic day. I would not recommend it to Anyone!! Not to mention they oversell tickets it’s so crowded it really needs better management.
Positive experience: They have a mermaid exhibit currently going on. I felt they could’ve been a little more creative with the mermaid “show” but my 6 year old daughter enjoyed it so that’s all that really matters. Besides that the sharks and other fish were pretty cool. The shark tunnel was really good. Kinda pricey for what it was but still a good day out with the family.
Fantastic experience: Loved the whole place. Got to view and hear about the Blue Penguins and Hippos while they were being fed. So awesome. The Shark Tunnel was incredible. I visited the pet the Rays section way too many times! Food seemed to be reasonably priced. Lots of stuff for little ones to do. Buy tickets ahead of time, the price goes up the closer it is to the date. Nice area outside on the water.
Fantastic experience: Super fun! Kids had a blast!! Much bigger aquarium than the ones local to us. Worth the drive … a little bit pricey but we were there the whole day and there was a lot to do & see!
Fantastic experience: Danielle from the stingray exhibit made our experience one we won’t forget! She walked up to the birthday boy with the biggest smile and let her feed the stingray. He’s nonverbal and autistic and his reaction to her was priceless! We will be getting a membership soon and can’t thank Danielle enough for giving him the experience of a lifetime!
Fantastic experience: I've been to a lot of aquariums, and this is right up there with the best. Hands down my favorite was petting the friendly, smooth stingrays as they swam around. You could see the delight on everyone's faces - mostly adults when I was there! Also enjoyed the "ocean wall," floor to ceiling (2 levels) of clear glass where you could peer in and see enormous turtles swimming with sharks.
