🗣️ Haga Ocean: Reviews
Negative experience: I honestly don’t understand the good reviews on Google Maps – I visited Haga Oceans on a Tuesday and unfortunately have to say it wasn’t worth the money. However, I should mention that I might be a bit spoiled, as I’ve been to places like the aquarium in Lisbon or the butterfly house near Malaga – places that are truly enchanting and impressive! In comparison, during my visit to Haga, I noticed that everything (the building, café, animal enclosures) felt very uninspired and carelessly designed. Everything is incredibly small (we were done in 20 minutes without rushing), it smelled strange, the plants looked mushy, and I saw more dead than alive butterflies. I found it incredibly disappointing and would not recommend a visit – especially if you've already experienced beautiful zoos, aquariums, or similar places.
Positive experience: Too small, expensive, neglected, very few animal species and their living spaces are very dirty
Negative experience: Keeping sharks in captivity is wrong. Do not support this place! Also, the condition of the facilities is poor :(
Negative experience: I think the place is generally nice, but the quality compared to the price is terrible. The area is divided into four sections (the fifth is under renovation). In the first, relatively large section, there is a very small aquarium where koi carp are swimming in extremely cramped conditions. Then, there are two sections with interesting animals and plants, but also a large number of dead butterflies. Finally, you enter the aquarium area, where water drips from the ceiling so much that it’s hard to find a dry spot on the carpet. The website states that predatory fish feeding takes place at 3 PM. I waited two hours for this event, only to find out that the information was outdated. In the meantime, a rather large cockroach ran past our feet (none of the animals feed on them). I do not recommend this place.
Fantastic experience: Nice place for adults and kids. It doesn't take much time to visit this place. (about 1.5 hour)
Negative experience: If your kids are under 3 years old, I recommend not visiting the aquarium. Strollers are not permitted, and the stroller parking area doesn't provide protection from the rain. There are many hazardous areas for young children, and I found it difficult to keep my kids under control. The humidity is overwhelming, and the ventilation is poor. The interior is quite dark, making it hard to see most of the animals clearly. The tight spaces inside become crowded very quickly.
Negative experience: 850 SEK for a family of four. 30-40 minutes and you have seen it all. Quite boring. A few butterflies, some frogs, lizards and a few sharks. The facilities are totally worn out. Looks 30 years old. Dirty and unhygienic café. I do not recommend.
Positive experience: Live sharks in the tank. Great outing for a rainy day with the kids. There's plenty of marine lives on display but the highlight is the sharks in the tank. Look out for the feeding times and you can watch them being fed
Fantastic experience: Beautiful fishes, sharks, shrimps and other sea creatures. The aquarium was a surprise to me because I would not have known from the looks of the outside
Negative experience: A pity. A very unspectacular place, very expensive for the size (249 swedish kroner for an adult). Very few explanations in English. Disappointing, not loving exhibition. The path is not worth it and nothing is done for the conservation of species, nature... no information etc
Positive experience: There are nice to see things, definitely, but as some others say, it's relatively small and/or expensive. E.g. Vienna's Haus des Meeres would cost as less but it's basicly all day activity, where here in Haga, it took us maybe 90 minutes and the daughter said we can go...
Fantastic experience: Had a great time with the kids here, also there is a gift shop and a place to have lunch
Positive experience: Butterflies and sharks, what's not to like? Wander through a tropical forest, see some beautiful butterflies and assorted fish and amphibians, and them take a look at sea life and a few sharks. Fair warning, as the tropical climate is recreated accurately, it's rather hot and humid; bring plenty of fluids!
Positive experience: It's a nice aquarium, with a butterfly house and a few turtles, birds and lizards. The aquarium is fairly small, with 4 or 5 sharks and some fishes, sea urchins, shrimps and starfish. If you have an hour to spare, plus the time to get here and back, it's a nice activity. Keep in mind though that it's more expensive than other, more entertaining options in Stockholm.
Fantastic experience: Omg the best musem so far. Very happy that I went to see it
Positive experience: What a lovely place to spend the day. There's a lovely park a butterfly house and a marine life centre including piranha fish and other unusual aquatic plants and life
Fantastic experience: Beautiful flowers, and animals! The café is quite expensive though, with only one vegan option.
Negative experience: It's not worth it....
Positive experience: It is a really nice place to spend time with children. The place is a little bit small and the prices are a little high especially for children.
Positive experience: OK for something to do especially on miserable days, especially if you have children as its warm inside.
Fantastic experience: It is by far the most natural place where you can see aquatic life and plant fauna. Mercerized by butterfly and shark experience. Children's enjoy a lot.
Positive experience: Beautiful shark tank. The rest are quite ordianary
Fantastic experience: Lovely place! Thoroughly enjoyed it! Especially the sharks were amazing!
Negative experience: The exhibits were very small and not a great variety of animals. For the butterflies it is important to get the right season because there weren't that many around (at least i thinks so...). The aquarium is quite dark and therefore it was difficult to see the fishes. The museum is also quite expensive compared with others in Stockholm.
Positive experience: It is good for one time visit. The tickets are over priced. The main attraction, aquarium is really small..we thought it will be an overhead tank with water tunnel where we could see fishes all around, but instead it was just a boxed aqarium with small fishes and small sharks. Inside it is hot and humid, so wear clothes accordingly.
Positive experience: Nice place for kids. Sharks are main feature.
Fantastic experience: Excellent place to spent few hours both for adults and kids
Fantastic experience: Very nice place to room around with family and friends. Many things to see butterflies, animals, sharks.. Also nice surroundings trees and gardens Very friendly staff and easy going as always everywhere in Sweden lovely country with lovely people. Please be aware that there are several parkings, so you can choose the right ine close to your spot. Fees are required for some entries, please check the websites. Inside butterflies area is very humidity and hot. So make sure to hang your jackets at restaurants area.
Positive experience: Very high expectations for what ia delivered. Good butterfly exposition
Negative experience: Modest. I do not recommend to include în your visiting place. The park where îs this building looks very nice and wild.
Positive experience: Quite small and not so exciting compared to most other similar attractions in Europe
