Särkänniemi Aquarium

Positive experience: The aquarium is fine, not very big so it can be seen in around 1 hour. There are stairs and no elevator so a pram was not possible to be used for our child. Downside is all information about the animals is written in Finnish, except for a few facts here and there. Be wary, there’s parking in the amusement park premises, but it costs 18€ independently of the length of your stay, which is crazy expensive!

Fantastic experience: Very nice, the kids loved it!

Positive experience: The aquarium consist of two floors with about 30 exhibits. Some of which are terrariums and paludariums. Sadly many of the tanks are quite cramped with fish. They have a sturgeon that is barely able to swim in circles. Other tanks are in dire need of a proper cleaning. Okayish for young children to look at the animals. The price was €10 and you're done in around 1 hour.

Positive experience: Hey, it’s such a small aquarium, but with beautiful fish and aquatic creatures. You and your children will have interesting findings here, like the dazed frogs and fish.

Positive experience: Quite nice place, not the biggest aquarium but if you take the time to thoroughly look at every exhibition, and read all the information about every fish, youll be plenty entertained. Good experience, some fascinating fishes.

Negative experience: It’s such a small place, it takes you about 10-15 minutes to visit everything here. And you don’t get to see something that special. Is ok for enjoying with the kids but, that is about it! A little bit disappointed.

Positive experience: Expected more; 1st floor had saltwater fish and downfloor mixture of reptiles and fishes. We’re with 1y and 3y olds and took us 30 mins to walk through.

Fantastic experience: Free entry during Tampere Day Oct 1. Can see few species of fishes, a couple of snakes water gators and turtles.

Fantastic experience: A small aquarium, but enough for a family trip. I saw some parents trying to show the children the new species here.

Positive experience: This aquarium is not so big, with only limited varieties of fishes and amphibians to see. Tanks didn’t look very clean either. There are turtles, sting ray, piranhas etc. However, it is a nice place to go to if you are at Sarkanniemi park.

Negative experience: Really expensive to see 29 tanks of fish with two young children.. could drop the prices they would probably get more customers

Positive experience: Quick visit as quite small, but selection was nice. Parking is fixed 15 euros per calendar day which costs more than entry. Would have wanted to walk in the amusement park premises to let our one-year-old see attractions as parking was already paid, but it was another ticket.

Fantastic experience: My son loved it! Moderate sized but with good variety of aquatic species.

Positive experience: Lots if fish but feeding shows canceled due to Covid

Negative experience: Very expensive for the value you get - quite small overall, nothing very interesting or unusual (at least the aquarium tunnel), although we were with kids and spent some time at each aquarium, we went through in around half an hour. Could be some discounts for kids.

Positive experience: Cool fish and reptiles.. but very few.
