Fantastic experience: Wonderful shop with very "hard to find" birds. I was looking all over Newcastle area for Canaries but no luck until I came here , 4 weeks ago I got my male canary from here and then came back a week ago and got 2 females. All 3 birds are doing well and my male canary sings super loud and beautiful. Everyone should go to this shop it has everything you can't find elsewhere I love it. And I'll be back for more canaries I'm expanding my cage size to virtually an Aviary great bird's here.

Fantastic experience: Great staff with a wealth of knowledge.

Negative experience: Purchased a large bird/parrot cage from here. The wheels broke after only a few months. Took it back and was interrogated about how I had used it. After some discussions they agreed to replace it. They replaced it with a cheaper (inferior) cage, never offered me a refund for the difference in price. Even after interrogating me about how I used the first cage, the replacement cage was completely unfit for purpose and how I told them I used it. They told me they didn't have to give me any refund/ replacement. The woman then basically told me I should have researched it more myself. I was never given any care instructions with the products, never told I couldn't hose the cage out or bath the bird in it. I would never have accepted the replacement cage if I knew how inferior it was in quality. The staff gave me a replacement cage knowing it wouldn't be suitable either. Not impressed at all. Both cages absolute junk for the price (over $500).

Fantastic experience: I've bought many bird supplies from here that are very high quality and a good price! I've also bought a cockatiel and I got her for $80 off! If you need bird supplies or want to buy a feathered friend I highly recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: Definitely the place to go to buy a snake. Our snake was handled in store which made him easier to handle once we got home. Super healthy

Negative experience: I purchased a cockatiel, apparently "hand raised" a couple of weeks ago. The cockatiel has broken tail feathers, had yellow stains on it and was alone and obviously neglected. There was no toys or barely any cage room to the point it was always on the cage floor, and clearly terrified of people. I am not happy with how they treated a bird and now has butched wings and broken feathers. It can barely fly. I don't recommend.

Fantastic experience: Brought home Enzo my little green cheek conure a couple of months ago, you can absolutely tell he has been raised right!!! So full of personality and overly cuddly :) Super super friendly service n everyone is so informative with all questions asked, 100% no regrets with this business!! Enzo loves his forever home

Fantastic experience: Just welcomed Eddie the yellow collared macaw into the family and am very happy with the care and service we received from Jonaths. You can tell how passionate Jodie & Nathan are about their animals. Answered every question we had with patience and got a generous starter pack with food and toys to bring home with our boy.

Fantastic experience: Nice pet shop with loads of different supplies to suit all your needs. Love going in there sometimes and just browsing around at what they have for birds and to see what Canaries and Finches they get in. The two beautiful big Macaws at the back of the store greet you with a lovely "Hello" as you walk up to their cages too.

Fantastic experience: Best place to get hand raised birds. Got my first cockatiel from them a year ago, absolutely fell in love. Just bought another two today. beautiful colours, temperaments, all with unique personalities. I love going there and checking out there wide range of birds, from budgies, to macaws. Bunnies, to puppies. Lizards to snakes. they take such good care of their animals, and you can tell how much love and effort goes into each and every one. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I have bought birds wen I got there to pickup bird it wasn't weaned bye law they are supposed to make sure you can wean the bird was on a private page then they offered discount because bird had missing toenails I'll quality stock bought a scarlet macaw payed $6000 she stole $500 gave the rest back day I was picking it up wouldn't answer calls throught sale and scammed my money laughed about it think it's funny doing that to loyal customers con artist scam artist sent letter of demand through court never responded od never bye from her again then posted the scarlet macaw again for $6000 on her Facebook page what a low life yes your scamming ways will come to a hault that's correct if I pay that kind of money I expect to see the bird I've payed thousands of dollars for your that low you stole $500 of me it's a joke reverse what you say because I gave your wife the money and never got my bird I bought a scarlet of a private breeder for over $7 K in the end instead of getting ripped of bye you the reply is because you did the wrong thing to me I've never put you down I've only ever stated the fact your wife has illegally obtained money bye deception it's called fraud why would you do that to a loyal customer you must be only in it for my money cause I never got the $6000 bird I purchased the truth is the truth reverse the lot

Fantastic experience: This is a store I've been frequently using for a couple of years now. Every time I enter, I'm met with kind, respectful, and cheerful staff without fail. The quality in the reptile enclosures they provide is great and gives a realistic background that my snakes constantly make use of. If you're looking for a friendly and trustworthy business, I recommend giving Jonaths Animal Kingdom a try. 10/10

Fantastic experience: We’ve been regular customers of Jonath’s animal kingdom for several years. Hand raised parrots we’ve purchased from Jodie and Nathan include African Greys and a Catalina Macaw. Our parrots are in excellent condition and were hand raised by Jonath’s animal kingdom so they love to be handled. The follow up care and support we’ve received from Jonath’s is something that’s really appreciated and not found in many places. Negative experience: I would never and would advise others to never purchase anything from this store again. The employees are uneducated and the owner is RUDE! They do not have the knowledge to provide their customers with correct crucial care instructions in order to take care of the purchased pet. They will sell you an enclosure that is too small for the pet and take no responsibility for doing so. Then when approached about their actions, they will be completely disrespectful toward you for calling them out on what they have done, talk down to you and then block you from their page.

Fantastic experience: Went there the other day and was so surprised to see such a beautifully clean and well stocked shop. I left with lots of amazing things that my son had been searching for and having to only buy online. Staff were knowledgeable and super helpful. Friendly too. We will certainly be back. I fully recommend them.

They also gave us a complimentary pack to go with the purchase of the galah. We named him Jessie. We are going there for all of our birds food and toys. Good job guys keep up the good work.

Positive experience: A great little bird store in an easy location. Specialising in birds, they have an extensive range of avian foods and live birds available. There is a small range of rabbit and reptile foods, but not for larger animals. There is a wheelchair accessories entrance with a ramp, and side street parking is relatively ample.

We picked up our new baby Eclectus yesterday and have to say the hand rearing of this parrot was beyond our expectations, he was so well cared for during this time, not only that we were kept informed of his progress along the way as we didn’t live close by. We were sent photos and given updates on how he was progressing with his feeding etc. and encouraged to visit him. We have purchased Eclectus parrots previously locally and the experiences were poles apart! Previously we were sold the parrots before they were completely weaned. A friend recommended Jonath’s to us and we now know that all our parrot needs will be met by them. Jodie & Nathan we thank you for going above and beyond!
