Fantastic experience: Hard to get a good photo of them with my phone but these are a couple of the bloody mary shrimp I bought. I originally ordered medium grade cherries on sale but the salesperson (could be owner not sure) told me these looked nicer and also on sale. They are really a beautiful dark red and so far doing really well. The store itself is not huge but very nicely set up and all the tanks looked healthy and well kept. The salesperson was friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: Ordered shrimp on 07 Aug 25. When I ordered they were all available. It’s now 02 Sep 25 and I still haven’t received my order. I have had to make contact 3 times to see where the order is…. Still waiting. Highly unprofessional. Will not be buying from here again.
Negative experience: Waited 40mins for google to show its open and the store remained closed. 2nd time this has happened. Store opens at 12.30. Photo taken at 12.50
Fantastic experience: Every shrimp I have received from Fish Hut has arrived alive and very healthy. I live in Cairns and they have arrived within 2 days. I am very happy with my shrimp and they make my skittles tank look amazing! They are also the cheapest I have found and just brilliant quality. Positive experience: came quick, pretty fish. were quite sick when received but after treating and quarantine they ended up alright. the other stuff I got, christmas moss and khuli loach. the moss is growing well but unfortunately khuli loach was dead on arrival. refund was prompt though.

Fantastic experience: Bought 5 algae eaters and got one for free from this store and i live in QLD. postage took 22.5 hrs to arrive could not fault this shop and the experience. The fish where in excellent condition coloured up instantly inside my tank but where not even badly coloured before hand anyway. First time buying fish online and can not fault this sale AAA+++ 5 STAR

Negative experience: Ordered 2 cull shrimp packs 20 in each pack so 40 shrimp all up i received 30 all up totally ripped off will never buy from them again

This is false accusation. If you check among all the free plants you receive with the shrimps, they will be hiding among the plants.
They have been counted 3 times, both bags had minimum 3x Extra Shrimps, meaning there would be minimum 23 in each bags.
If you really had issues with the order, you should have emailed us for shipping/delivery claim, however I’m sure you cannot provide evidence.

Fantastic experience: My online order for a bundle of Blue Dream Shrimp, Red Root Floaters and some Shrimp Pops has left me a very happy customer. All shrimp arrived lively, brilliant blue colour and was impressed by the size of all shrimp. They settled in immediately by displaying an electrifying brilliance of blue. Negative experience: Never received my order, emailed them and got no response.
Fantastic experience: I turned up at this place after learning of their existence when I couldn’t find what I was looking for at Coburg aquarium and was surprised they had exactly what I was looking for (an angelfish with yellow colouring- very specific) I don’t honk they get many walk in customers but they were great- show d me the stock they had and told gave me time to chose. I was impressed that the guy could tell me specific personality traits about some of them /I bought the runt that was separated as it was being harassed by the bigger ones and happy to say it’s thriving with its new mates.

I’ve ordered online once before and some were not alive when they arrived and it took nearly a week for them to get here. So I pushed my scepticism aside and I ordered from here and in all honesty I can not wait to buy from here again!!!

Fantastic experience: On Feb 12/25 I purchased 7 guppies, 2 loaches, 2 mystery snails and some shrimp. Everything is doing fine. So fine in fact that my first batch of baby guppies were born today, Im so thrilled !

Negative experience: Super keen to order from these guys, was super helpful in the beginning. Realised majority of my order wouldn’t be able to ship to WA, which they don’t publish what can and can’t be shipped on the website. Finally, decided to cancel the order well in advance to it being packed for shipping. They canceled the order promptly, stating order has not been refunded YET. I email them a couple days later to ask when I shall expect the refund, (the order was over 200 dollars) and they continued to ignore me. Ended up escalating through PayPal and finally got my money back almost a month later! Super disappointed with this service, would not recommend to interstate buyers!

Unfortunately during the time when we were having convesation about the refund, our shop had gone through an unfortunate incident and took weeks to fix it.
Since Paypal (or yourself) had already initiated the refund, we could only accep it or deny it which we did accept as we couldn’t send most of the Unapproved fish to WA.
Sorry this has been an unpleasant time.
Fantastic experience: Ordered some shrimp and they all survived. They aren’t super yellow but they’re still nice. Some are super yellow on top like the photo but most are the faded yellowish colour. Came with some moss which is cool but also came with heaps of snails unfortunately. I’d still order again and would recommend:)

Negative experience: Just had a full tank restart new filters new substrate new everything and I put the plants in and a day later I noticed snails crusing around the tank .
Thanks Rex, but we do not promise all our stem plants are snail free. However all our TC Plants are snails and pest free.
Also, there is a note section if you’d like to order next time, we can definitely remove/pick plants without any snails. Some hobbyists simply like the snail’s algae cleaning nature.

Negative experience: Ordered two clown loaches from this business and paid in full, $55.07 including delivery, the fish were sent illegally thru Australia post by express post (Australia post does not permit live fish to be posted as written in there policies on line) the fish were lost in transit and arrived dead 8 days later, when l contacted this business l was told to contact Australia post as to find there whereabouts but told by this business not to tell Australia post that it was fish missing but to say it was plant material instead, when fish arrived dead on the eighth day l contacted business are asked for a refund of the fish price as well as delivery fee because Australia post would not refund postage being it was a direct contravene of there policy, l was informed by business l would receive a full refund including postage, have just received notification of refund and there is only the fish being refunded, when received fish dead the express postage fee stuck to package was $14,50, l was charged $19.90 by company, to say l am pissed off is to say the least, fish should have been sent by courier and clearly marked as live fish as l have received in past by other reputable businesses, will never use this company again and l suggest anyone reading this do the same, obviously don't give a toss about animals only profit.l have just received a response from business and they have referred my order was lost with courier, as stated , l know they know full well it was sent by mail against Australia post policy. As for my payment of delivery l was given no option as to delivery method, only told a price at check out, l wrongly presumed that $19.90 as paid would be sufficient for a courier to deliver from Melbourne to newcastle nsw as was only a six pack foam esky with minimal water and two 5cm fish and as we all know freight is charged by weight, other orders l have made from fish farm in Queensland have been a similar delivery charge, arrived in 48hrs and have been clearly marked on package live fish. This arrived marked as express post and with a sticker on it stating $14.40 for postage, draw your own conclusions from this.
Yes, this one review from 1 customer cannot prove how much we care and love our fish. This was a Lost Parcel Issue, not a SMALL BUSINESS issue.
Either way, other reviews prove how fast, our orders are delivered, and in what health and wellbeing.
Your order was refunded by the business despite of parcel being lost by the courier.
Our Website has all shipping policies listed - who we use for shipping, how postage is calculated and how we are liable for them. Its Customer’s duty to choose the right type of Postage Method.
There is a way of contacting us before Postage to order through Same Day Air Freight, but you have still chosen the Cheapest Option for Postage, despite of all the Love and Care you have for your fish. Why would we send you fish through Expensive Same Day courier when you picked and paid for Australian Post Express during checkout?
This is simple logic Steven, if you as a human tried to save money, we as a business are trying to earn Money as well, we have not opened this business for Charity.

Fantastic experience: I bought 2 Super red bristlenose catfish and 2 common bristlenose catfish, all were 4 odd cm and they were healthy and looked great even with being so young. Both types have taken to my tank like they were born in it and they are very at ease with me putting my hand in the tank or doing a gravel clean without them stressing at all, in fact sometimes I have to wait for them to move, lol. I totally recommend Fish Hut Aqua for any of your needs and I will certainly be buying from them again, especially when no matter what questions I have they will answer in a professional, knowledgeable and totally understanding manner.

Negative experience: These guys were very helpful in store and via online chat. They did not follow up on the email I sent nor the phone call. I was promised a call once stock had come in but never heard anything back. I was as keen as mustard to deal with these guys until all this happened.

However we tried to contact you a few times on the number you’d left with us online once the plants were delivered on the following Monday, however we were not able to reach that number, and unless items are paid for we cannot hold stock for anyone, and since call was unreachable, we could not do anything, we only thought you were not interested.

As my Neon tetra are the brightest and also most active from the moment of delivery to my tank they never looked back...so happy Although I think package could have more prominent THIS SIDE UP or even a fragile live fish sticker!!! As the box was left placed on it's side . My shrimp were a bit subdued ( don't know if this is normal or due to being unduly tumbled) 1st time with shrimp but otherwise everyone has settled in to my tank with ease and vibrancy. Fantastic experience: I have had a great experience ordered 2 sparkling gouramis, 5 peppermint catfish, java moss, pearl weed, trident java ferns and thin valisneria. It's my first time ordering fish online everything came a good size. Will definitely be ordering from here again. Only thing was I was suprised with the fish as shipped on Tuesday and only thought they shipped Monday. I would definitely recommend buying from them.

Fantastic experience: Fish Hut Aqua supplies is a great aquarium. They have a good range of fish, plants and ornaments at a fair price. They were able to keep me informed with arrival days of the fish that they didnt have in stock when I was there. Fantastic experience: Couldn't think higher of the customer service they provided. If its a question about there products or about shipping they respond quickly and so friendly. I have never had a problem with any of the livestock and they r so beautiful and healthy even when the post has had delays. 100% would recommend shopping there. Fantastic experience: Fantastic business! Refunded my postage and allowed me to pick up my new children! They gave me a free snail! Allowed me to swap my fish selection out from what I had posted online. The prices of fish and plants is half that of similar businesses. It’s good value for money. A very good functioning website. The man in the store is also VERY happy to provide recommendations for food! Healthy fish and healthy young shrimp! Very happy with my purchase!

Fantastic experience: Best Aquarium Shop in Melbourne! Great staff, very helpful. I bought some guppies and cheap bristlenose plecos from them which have not died, and they said they were locally sourced from trusted breeders in Melbourne.. which explains why they were so healthy.

Fantastic experience: One of the best Aquarium shops in Melbourne. They breed all fish they sell by themselves and a very convenient store around glenroy, pascoe vale area! Nishal was great to deal with, very informative and experienced with aquarium fish and their health. They do aquascapes as well, they had really great aquarium scapes to see there too! A lovely local business to visit, specially if you're a pet lover!
